It was my first time ordering from here and I got the taro milk tea. Staff was nice and quick with my order! I asked for half sweet but it still tasted super sweet. This was my first time ordering so maybe full sweet must be even sweeter. If you don't want too much sugar I would ask for 25% sweet. Even though my drink was sweeter than expected, I still give them five stars because the drink was still tasty, and the staff had great customer service! Don't get thrown off by the price. I thought it was pricey but the standard size is a large (24oz). read more

Yummy popcorn chicken! The green thai tea is so good. With very little boba options in this area, Star Tea does not disappoint. It is a family owned establishment (im assuming) so be patient as it is only two people working at a time but it's worth it. read more

Picked some boba up and the guy with the hat and little Dino on it needs to learn how to be more polite and patient with his customers. He needs to change his tone how he speaks to people, especially if we are not so experienced in the Boba world , like chill out. I witnessed him speaking impatiently to 3 other customers besides myself. read more

I ordered the following: -- avocado smoothie with lychee jelly and boba -- the salty mango drink --and the vietnamese coffee with coffee jelly The avocado smoothie was delicious. It wasn't super sweet and icy. It had a perfect texture and amount of avocado. The salty mango drink a.k.a. mangonada was so yummy! It wasn't so sweet either. Also, the vietnamese coffee was nice and strong. Service is awesome! read more

I'm not from the area and was looking for a quick drink. The workers at Star Tea were super friendly and had great recommendations! I ordered an almond smoothie with boba- and they did not disappoint! I also got a few other drinks for the kids ( drinks not pictured) I feel like the vibe needed an upgrade but then again this place wasn't to sit down at because- CORONA. I've been here before, but it wasn't called Star Tea. At least not that I remember. But it's been a couple years. I ordered the taro slush? It was okay. Didn't really taste like taro at all. I miss my boba place back home. read more

My family decided to stop here when passing through Gilroy. We stopped at a different Boba location first and it was filthy, so I told my kids let's find another one. We put Boba in our map and it led us here. So glad. We ordered 4 different smoothies (3 with boba) and every one of them was absolutely delicious. My son turned 8 today so this was a fun experience for him since he's never had boba before. Next time we pass through, we'll be stopping in again. The man who helped us was incredibly helpful & friendly as well. read more

Man honestly, from the moment I stepped in I shoulda walked right back out lol. I went against all my senses to give this place a shot and after getting the thai tea Im very disappointed. There is no greeting except from the robotic cat, no music, loud fan, strong smell of bleach and chlorox, tables and chairs are wobbly, and no eye contact. It made for really awkward vibes. After a child took my order, a car pulled up and he hopped in and dipped out telling the driver to hurry up and go lol. Some funny stuff around these parts read more

I ordered delivery items from here and was looking forward to the food since the food options looked really enticing. Unfortunately, maybe my expectations were too high. 1. Avocado smoothie 3.5/5 Decent smoothie with good avocado flavor but when I got to the bottom of the drink, it became an ice slush, which is indicative that it hadn't been blended enough. 2. Spicy korean beef noodles 3/5 If you're ordering delivery, they separately package the soup and the noodles, which is nice. However, the soup broth was SO spicy! It had a slight numbing taste if you enjoy that. The noodles itself are of the instant noodle variety so heads up on that if you're expecting something else. 3. Chicken curry 3.5/5 This item came in a bowl and was only half filled with the curry chicken. The curry has a strong coconut flavor and the chicken itself was super tender. It comes with a Vietnamese baguette to dip into the curry; the baguette itself was nice. 4. Popcorn chicken 3/5 The portion for the chicken was so tiny. It came in a mini version of a takeout box (definitely not the regular version.) The chicken tasted like it had some kind of crispy breading that was not the typical Taiwanese style popcorn chicken. The food was packaged nicely which I was glad to see. The food portions were so small though for the prices though. They label the food items as snacks which I guess makes sense, but the prices for them are similar to what a meal would cost. I would recommend just ordering drinks since it looks like other customers enjoyed their drinks more. read more

I keep coming back to Star Tea because their drinks are delicious! They know me by now from all the times I order in store and on DoorDash, lol. My go-to's are the black milk tea or thai tea when I want something milky (@ 100% sweetness) and their strawberry black tea or mango green tea when I want something more fruity & refreshing (@ 50-75% sweetness because the fruity drinks seem to be a little sweeter). I also just sampled their new lemongrass tea and wow, it was super good and refreshing! Their boba is ALWAYS soft and chewy -- the perfect texture. You can even do half and half of two different toppings and only pay the price of one topping -- normally boba shops make you pay for both toppings even if you don't want full scoops of each. Star Tea is so accommodating!! So many things keep me coming back but the main reasons are definitely their customer service & quality in drinks! Out of all the milk tea places in Gilroy, I find Star Tea to be the best overall! And let me tell you, I am a self proclaimed milk tea addict so you can trust my review, lol. read more

We always try new tea places that have the grass jelly and had high hopes for this place. We got the piña colada smoothie with apple and strawberry jelly. Also a strawberry smoothie with strawberry jelly. It tasted as if it had Greek yogurt in it and neither of us liked the flavors so we put it in the fridge for later. After sitting in the fridge for a couple hours it separated and did not look appetizing so we just threw it away. I think will stick with EYEfiniTEA in Morgan Hill. read more

Got an oolong milk tea with boba, half sweet, no ice. It doesn't measure up to boba spots in SJ, but for the price and being in a small town, it doesn't have to. Taste was as expected, nothing special and nothing lacking. Boba texture was good. Drink came out fast. No complaints, I'll be back. read more

We came here at 3:45pm and there was nobody here. There was a lot of parking available. The menu had some food, smoothies, and drinks. We ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea ($4.75) with boba and Black Milk Tea ($4.75) with boba. The Jasmine Milk Tea tasted not bad and similar to other places; however, the Black Milk Tea tasted a little bit too sweet for Black Milk Tea when compared with other places. The boba was chewy so that was at least good. Star Tea was okay to me for milk tea. read more

Was in the area and was in the mood for boba. I found this place on Yelp and was so excited because they had the cups where you could get 2 drinks in 1 cup so I had to come check it out. To my sad-ness I found out that they no longer have those cups so I had to go with one drink. Ended up getting the mango flavor on a black tea base. OMG! I was so happy that I I decided to get a drink here. The flavor and sweetness as perfect! Totally made up for not having the cool cups. read more

The milk tea tastes like it has a hint of chocolate. Also the coffee. They were both okay! I appreciated this weird hint of chocolate, and I was happy overall with the milk tea. The popcorn chicken is very sad though. Size wise and taste wise. They were closer to nuggets than the usual popcorn chicken from boba places. I have a mild shellfish allergy, nothing life threatening, and the popcorn chicken smelled and tasted "fishy," and I proceeded to have an uncomfortable feeling on my tongue and lips after eating one and a half. So I'm assuming there was some major cross contamination with the fried shrimp so thank god it wasn't worse. So heads up to anyone with a shellfish allergy-- don't order any of the food. read more

After an afternoon of outlet shopping, we were looking for a place to grab a drink. We ended up here. Located in a shopping mall next to the outlets, Star Tea was just what we needed. I ordered a Lychee smoothie and it was the right combination of sweetness and since it was warm it was quite drinkable. I was happy it was blended so it wasn't just a cup of ice. I would stop here again next time we're outlet shopping. read more

So sad Gilroy's one and only boba spot was probably the worst I've ever had!!! (New management, replaced Tapioca Express). Matcha milk tea: weirdest tasting thing ever, nothing like matcha. It had a hint of familiarity/nuttiness that I couldn't place but did not like! Jasmine green tea: once again, no hint of Jasmine nor tea whatsoever :( it literally tasted like the juice from my lychee jelly! Super disappointed. So gross no matter how much I crave, I will not be back! read more

Whenever we head to the bay area we stop here to grab a drink because they are absolutely delicious. We are usually kindly greeted and have never had bad customer service until today. I took my nephews there today and the gentleman with the blonde hair must've been having a bad day or something because he was rude. He didn't greet us, seemed irritated that we didn't know exactly what we wanted upon entry (mind you nobody else was in line), and rolled his eyes at me when I asked him to repeat himself because I couldn't hear what he had asked. I don't know if he was in a hurry to get back to his Zoom call that he had going on in the background or what but he should work on his customer service skills a bit. I hope his day gets better and he treats other paying customers better than he did us. (Tea was yummy per usual) read more

I dont like to give 1 star reviews so hear me out. I live in San Jose where I can literally walk down the street to get my milk tea fix. Of course Gilroy doesn't have that many mill tea options so when this one opened I was kinda excited to try it. This is located next to to and king egg roll by the outlets and I really wish it was a lot better so I could come down to Gilroy to shop and enjoy my milk tea more often. We walked in and were greeted by the friendly staff, they have all the typical mill tea selections from jasmine to earl grey and regular flavors such as passion fruit and lychee. Toppings range from crystal boba to grass jelly and regular boba. No red beans or egg pudding. We ordered and sat to wait for our drinks. When they came out I immediately noticed that my jasmine milk tea was an odd color. The taste was definitely off.. And I can't put my hands on it but it wasn't pleasant. The avocado smoothie.. Was even more off putting. It had a weird play dough smell. I will definitely not be back unless the reviews change. read more

Been eyeing this for a while, since there aren't many bubble tea places in Gilroy. Parking is abundant, and the place is very clean and tidy. Definitely a nice chill spot. However, the compliments stop there. I ordered a Blueberry Icy, and it reminds me of basically kool-aid poured over ice..... it's so dark that it stains your lips and teeth. Just gave me an overall very cheap taste. May come back for their milk tea, but DEFINITELY do not recommend the slushees. read more

The staff was so kind and waited while we changed our order like 3 times! We got the split cup with thai tea and mango green tea at 50% sugar. The 50% sugar was perfect for the mango green tea - sweet with a hint of tang. Great for a hot day (even though it's winter right now). The thai tea was a tad bitter, which probably means the tea has been cooked a little too long, but still yummy! Pro-tip 1: 50% sugar is where you want to be Pro-tip 2: Get two very different colored teas in split cup for that best Instagram shot. We messed up. read more
