Wonderful service. Ron was very helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy. I leased a 2017 CX-5. It's the second one I have leased from Star Mazda. I love this car and the 2017 has some really cool improvements over the first edition. Overall it was a great experience. Go see Ron if you want awesome service! read more

Had a great experience at Star Mazda working with Abiel. After doing lots of research we decided to purchase the Mazda 3. The process of negotiating a price and securing financing was very easy. Start to finish the whole process took us less than 2 hours. Abiel was very thorough explaining all the features of the car and told us we could come back in any time if we need a review. read more

I made an appointment to get my both my headlights changed because they were out. When I brought my car in they did a full circle inspection and told me that I needed to change both my front turn signal lights because they apparently were both out too. I was surprised because I think I would have noticed that. After hesitation I told them that I'd change those lights another time. When I got my car back, I checked both of my front turn signals to see if they were busted and they were working just fine. Thanks for trying to rip me off. Such quality service. read more

My wife and I, purchased our first Mazda yesterday at Star Mazda. Kyle Groom helped us with our purchase. He was great, he made the process quick and easy. Really liked our experience there. read more

Bought my car here couple yes back. Of course they try to sell me all sort of packages. The agent doesn't know much about the car but fortunately I did my research. I returned for my 1st maintenance service such as oil change, they sold me transmission change too. But the worse part is...after the oil change, I drove to Vegas that weekend & while I was driving i noticed the engine is not running smoothly w/c is not normal for a brand new car. When I got to Vegas, I had it checked early next day when car is cool. I was shocked when they me the filter wasn't put in right & I was leaking oil. Furthermore, I was told that I'm fortunate the filter didn't fell otherwise I would have been running of empty oil all the way from Vegas! read more

In general for me, buying a car is NOT fun.It involves working with salesmen that don't listen and ALWAYS try to up-sell. I wanted three things - an SUV with leather seats and a moon roof. I had a budget, an amount for my trade in, a Tier 1 credit score and a large sum of money down. You would think it would be easy! You would think they could point me in the right direction and say, "please sign on the dotted line". But nooooooooo...for almost three weeks I went to different places and I was already starting to have buyers remorse, and I wasn't even happy with the options I was given. It wasn't until I met RON over at Star Mazda. He was very kind, he understood my needs, he suggested the perfect car, made sure it had what I was looking for, and stayed almost $80/month below my initial budget. I LOVE the car, but I also very much enjoyed working with Ron. He's not like any of the sales guys I worked with, he was patient, wanted me to take my time and made fair suggestions. I almost feel like he was volunteering there or something! Like he wasn't even that interested in his commission, but far more interested in getting me into the perfect car. If you're ever in the market for a Mazda, go to Star Mazda in Glendale and look for Ron. He'll most likely be sitting up front with his cute little sun hat and american stickers. You can't miss him! read more

Agree with everyone who would give zero stars if they could. I went here without knowing if I wanted to buy or lease, just knowing I wanted a small car. I liked the Mazda2, so I test drove it. The guy who helped me didn't seem to know a lot about the car, and was kind of stammering and unsure the whole time. Not inspiring much confidence. I went in and after some discussion, I decided to let them run my credit to see what pricing they could offer me to buy. It took FOREVER, and he kept coming back out to make me give him more information - just tell me to fill out the whole form the first time. I popped back there to ask politely how long it would take - I didn't want to be rude, but I had a bunch of other dealerships I wanted to check out and it was getting dark. The money guy who was apparently (more on that below) running my info was a little testy when he said it would just take a few more minutes. Of course ten minutes later they finally come out, give me a price that I thought was too high, and I left. After searching around and seeing that cars in California are way more expensive than I originally thought (bought my last car 6 years ago in Florida), the Mazda deal seemed pretty good, and I did genuinely like the car. I call back to see if they have a lease option. The guy (still very unconfident/shifty sounding) informed me that there is no leasing option, but that we could work something out with a bank. He also asked if I could go any higher than the price they quoted me originally, and told me they hadn't run my credit check yet. Um, then a) what was taking so long? and b) how did they get my info to give me an accurate quote? I was starting to feel that these guys were scammers or at the very least highly unreliable. But I just wanted to get the car I actually liked, so I told him I'd come in on my lunch break today. I called back a few minutes before I was about to lease, to make sure he had done the credit check and whatever else, because it's a twenty minute drive both ways, and he starts telling me there is no leasing option on the 2. I told him, I know, you said that yesterday, but you also said that something could be worked out with a bank. Then he told me no, because the "residual value is so low," and a bunch of other bs sounding stuff. Then he kept telling me that the 3 was "better" for me, and I plainly said, "Well, I don't want the 3, I want the 2." He reiterated that the 3 would be "better" for me, and I said, "Thanks for your time" and hung up. Going back on what they previously said, lying about running my credit report, not willing to try to work with me to get what I want...even if they called back right now and offered me a great deal, I don't think I would go back to these guys. They were super shifty, and heaven help anyone who tries to get a car here. It has really colored the way I view the cars negatively and I am telling everyone I know not to go there. read more

What a dreadful experience. Our Mazda Tribute had the check engine light on, so we took it to be repaired. Well, it turns out, we didn't use the right words (The General Manager tried to lay blame on us.) -- and they didn't fix the car completely. They fixed enough to make the light go out. We weren't around the block leaving the dealer, when we felt the same problem we took it in for. The next morning, the light was back on, and we took it back. This time they quoted an estimate of $1,800.00. After a heated discussion with the current Service Manager, Santiago, I was told they didn't want our business, so we went in to talk with the GM. After an hour and a half with the GM and the SM, we were given a credit and summarily dismissed. The only reason they even get 1 star is because of the Service Advisor, Willie Rivera. Really nice guy, hard-worker, with a heart for serving the customer. He knows the meaning of customer service. He kept us informed about the status of our SUV, and was genuine and sincere in helping us. Run from this place. The SM has a temper (He got up and left our meeting when I was trying to talk to him.), and the GM has attitude. Our SUV is better, but not fixed. read more

I can't even believe some of the reviews I've read reagrding the service department! It's so NOT TRUE! There are also more reviews in Yelp under Star Chrysler Jeep. I am such a loyal customer and have been coming here for almost 13 years, have had 4 different Chrysler vehicles (this dealership was previously Star Chrysler Jeep and then Star SuperCenter before it became Star Mazda, but the service department has basically stayed in tact.) Even though the Glendale Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealer is just a couple of blocks away, I still continue to go here! I purposely buy cars in the Chrysler/Dodge /Jeep and Mazda family so that I can continue taking my cars here for all my service needs. I TRUST STAR MAZDA SERVICE CENTER! THE SERVICE MANAGER, GUS, IS ALWAYS POLITE, HONEST AND EXTREMELY HELPFUL!! His Service Team (Mike, Raul along with Gabby and Marilyn) are the best and they are all very friendly and courteous. I have had multiple issues with my cars and each every time I have to come in, I speak directly to Gus. As soon as I get there, he welcomes with me a smile and makes sure he knows what is going on with my car. Gus always goes out of his way to go over what services are needed, if any. If there was something covered under warranty, he would let me know and offer to bring it to the dealer for me. If some of the work can wait or doesn't need to be done right away, he lets me know. He's very easy to talk to. I always ask a lot of questions to make sure that I understand the work that needs to be done and why. He is so patient and goes over everything with me so there is no misunderstanding. He accepts all coupons and offers discounts to help me save money. And when I come to pick up my car, it's always nice and clean! So let's see....friendly greeting, great service, reasonable price and a FREE carwash....what more can you ask for? I don't usually write reviews but I just felt that I had to say something! It's rare that I find a service team that I truly trust! I will continue to come here as long as Gus is here!! read more

They work in such an efficient and timely manner, have awesome customer service, and don't rob you of prices!

Star Mazda is amazing! I just turned in my old Mazda car for a brand new Mazda3 Grand Touring. The dealership made me feel so welcomed and comfortable, and they worked with me to get a price for the car that I could afford. Pablo Vazquez was my dealer who hooked me up with a beautiful car and affordable price point. I was on a time crunch, so they got me in and out of there in an hour. It was perfect. The whole team from the manager, Jon, to the finance guy, Don, was very kind and timely. Overall, terrific experience! read more

I contacted the service department on 9/19 because my car wouldn't start. I spoke to someone named Willie over the phone & explained the issue. Not being sure if it was a battery or engine problem, I specially asked him what the cost would be one way or the other. If it's the battery, we'll take care of it, he says. I had already replaced the original battery 3 years prior so I knew there was some sort of warranty but wasn't sure of the specifics (which is why I called and asked) He says it's covered, so great; now I'm hoping it's definitely the battery. If it's an electrical problem he said it would be $110 to check the engine. Fine. I eventually had the battery checked and found out that this was definitely the problem, so I called and spoke to the same guy again. I told him I did in fact need a new battery and asked it it was still a good time to come. I then asked if the cost of the battery was still FULLY covered under warranty and he said yes. I wanted to be 100% sure because I was coming all the way from L.A. and it was at least a half hour drive. I eventually make it there and was greeted by another service adviser. I tell him that I need a new battery, and that I already spoke to Willie over the phone. He starts my paperwork and then hands me an estimate for $165. I tell him that this is not what I had been told so he then pulls up my service record on the computer. After looking over my information he says my warranty was only good for 3 years (expired in March 2012) and now it would fall under the 5 year prorated rate which would come to $65 (this would have been fine if I had actually been given this information over the phone). I tell him again that this is not what I had been told, so he finally calls over the guy that I had spoken to on the phone and they both look at my records. Willie then says the exact same thing about my warranty being expired. I tell him that this is "not what you told me over the phone" and he looks back at the computer and says he didn't have all of the information. Long story short I just got duped into making a 20 mile drive based on inaccurate information. The other service adviser that was helping me then offers to call the dealership where I purchased the old battery so they can look up my invoice and clear things up. Willie then walks away and never says anything to me again. After the other guy gets off of the phone he then says that based on my old invoice, I had only paid 75% of the cost of the current battery (because it had also gone bad and was replaced while under warranty) so actually, I'm not covered under ANY warranty at all and the original $165 price is back on. At this point, I'm in complete disbelief and ready to go. But not before he actually asks me if I still want the battery...Uhmm, no! He apologizes for "the inconvenience" and I get in my car and leave...(thank God it actually started). I've had my M3 for six years and taken it to several dealerships for service and this is by far the worse experience I've had at any of them. I see why they have a 2 star rating. read more

Finally made a decision on a new car. My 2001 Toyota Solara passed the 200,000 mark and was time to start looking for new car. After some time checking out makes, models, etc., I came across high reviews of Mazda cars. I checked out Star Mazda in Glendale. That first night my husband and I walked the lot just looking around and met a salesman named Israel. I was impressed with his friendliness and openness. I felt no pressure. Answered many of my questions. I was impressed. I went back another time and Israel took me on a test drive. I was hooked on Mazda cars. I have had three Toyota cars in the past but wanted something different. I was really impressed with the Car and Driver reviews. The engine was lively and I liked the style. Today I drove home in my new 2015 Mazda 3. Love it! I want to thank Israel, Kyle and David for making my dream come true by driving home a new car. They made it so easy and actually fun. No pressure to add this and that. They listened to what I wanted to do and I got it. They actually seemed to be enjoying my experience of buying a new car. I would highly recommend Kyle or Israel if you want to check out a new Mazda (though they have used ones too). read more

Don't bring your car here. I brought my 2007 Mazda in and was given the run around from day one. I initially didn't want to but the diagnostic test was throwing a code specific to the manufacturer. I needed a major part replacement and was told it was covered under warranty and they would order the part. 3 DAYS LATER they call me and tell me it is not covered under warranty and I would be paying upwards of $3500 for the fix. They also added on a few items that apparently needed fixing and the price kept on mounting. You get the picture. I spent days just trying to get someone to call me back. When I finally went and retrieved my car I brought it and their findings back to my mechanic who fixed it for under $2000. Car runs beautifully now - although based on my research on this flaw, I will not be purchasing another Mazda anytime soon. I will say in the process I talked to Galpin Mazda in Van Nuys and they seemed much more efficient. read more

I purchased my 2006 Mazda 6s from Santa Monica Ford in April of 2012. They sold me a car with problems because they suck (that is an entirely different story) but I brought the car to Star Mazda because its local to me and i needed a 3rd party to look at the car and see what the issues were so that I really knew what was going on. I drove into the service department and was immediately greeted by Mike Tufillaro (I think he is affectionately knows as "Tuffy"). Boy am I glad he was the one that greeted me. I prefaced my issues with the fact that I was ONLY looking for an accurate diagnosis of the problems so I could take the proof back to Santa Monica Ford to have them fix them because they shouldn't have sold me the car that way to begin with. He was understanding and even though he knew I wasn't going to have them repair the issues he still knew that treating me well would bring me back. Anyway they found 7 major issues that I then took it back to Santa Monica Ford and they fixed them. So a huge thank you to Mike for the honesty. Now onto yesterday's repair...i took it in because my transmission was acting weird and my engine was running odd. He updated my power train control module, did an engine flush, and my car runs better than it did the day i bought it. I can't recommend them enough. I can't always afford to take it to the dealer but when I can I will always go to Star Mazda and work with Mike Tufillaro. He is honest and does what he can to help you save money. I hope he sees this review and can pat himself on the back because he deserves some recognition for this knowledge and character. read more

I'm a super fan of Star Mazda! I leased my Mazda 3 5-door (Hatchback) with Skyactiv in Feb '12. Greg Moss took care of answering all my questions and also dealt with my negotiations skills with courtesy and ease. Really nice guy. He even went out of his way to drive over some additional paperwork to where I work. Also, I can't remember her name but the woman working with the bank on the leasing matters was pretty exceptional too. I've since had it serviced (oil change, maintenance) several times at the dealership all with ease. I've thought of writing a Yelp review prior because the service team is so professional and easy but what inspired me to write this now is my treatment when I came in with a fender bender. Mike Tufillaro or "Tuffie" or "Toughie"? Whatever! Mike, guided me through the options (weighing the cost of insurance or not), details (what exactly needed replaced versus what could wait), expense (money allocated to parts vs. service) etc.. I felt like Mike treated me as if I was his own daughter. With the estimate in my hand, I did my due diligence (as he even suggested) and left to go to my the auto-shop my insurance company suggests for estimates. As I suspected and contrary to popular belief, the estimate that Mike had given me was well under what this shop was estimating (and might I add that in the past that auto body shop would usually underestimate and tack on additional costs post work). Mike gave me a follow-up call that my sensor was in stock, "Did I want to proceed or wait? No pressure." I came in for the service, prepared for a 4-5 hour wait and sure enough it was done around 3 hours with a nice car wash to boot. I would say that I'm probably a Star Mazda customer for life! I first off love my Mazda (gas mileage, handling, aesthetic, feel etc) but the honesty that flows throughout the dealership from their sales to the top notch service and maintenance team makes it reassuring to lease or, in the case with my next Mazda, BUY from them! read more

I've been to this dealership a bunch of times for service on my old CX-5. The service has been always been as expected: I just set up shop on my laptop and do work until I get the "all done!" text. After my CX-5 was lost to a theft, I decided to downside my ride. I test drove maybe 10 or 12 vehicles at six dealerships, including two CPO Mazda3s at Star Mazda. At Star Mazda, I worked with Kyle Groom, who was super easygoing, friendly, and communicative (but not TOO communicative if you know what I mean). Once I had settled on the vehicle I wanted and we got to talking finances, Kyle was able to meet my two asks without any back-and-forth negotiation. I'd also come in pre-qualified with a low interest rate and was pretty happy with that, but Kyle still offered to see if he could get me something better -- and he did, almost a full percentage point lower, with the same numbers. The Finance Manager, Don, got me in and out quickly with a little salesmanship, but no pressure. Since I knew I wanted to continue servicing my vehicle at the dealership, I purchased a pre-paid three year maintenance package. Overall, I felt zero stress at any point during this sale. It feels nice to have a dealership that I trust right down the right, and I actually kind of look forward to my first service appointment. Thank, you, Kyle! read more

I bought a car from Star Mazda in January. I needed the paperwork from Star Mazda to register my car in another state. The minute I drove off the lot, the manager-Tyson and General Manager-Jon refused to take my calls when I called to inquiry about my needed paperwork. I called Mazda Corporate, three times so they could get Management from the dealership to respond to my inquiries. When it should have only taken a week to receive my paperwork, I received my paperwork three weeks later. When I tried to register my car in my home state, I found out that Star Mazda gave me another car's paperwork. The General Manager of Star Mazda -Jon M even personally handed me the paperwork. How could a dealership give me the wrong paperwork??? Then I tried to call the dealership to find out what they were going to do to fix the problem. The Manager -Tyson decided not to respond to me once again. I even called the General Manager -Alex over both the Star Mazda and Star Lincoln Dealership but he told me that he had to call me back before I could even tell him the situation. I am moving to CA from TX and have bought my last 2 new cars online, meaning I have contacted the Internet Sales department of the dealership, negotiated everything over email, and gone into the dealership only to sign the papers and pick up my car. I tried to contact 4 separate Mazda dealerships in SoCal, but Star Mazda was by far the best! Their Internet Sales Manager, Nick Mongeau, responded within minutes of my requesting a quote on the Mazda USA site, emailed me promptly with the information I required, including Price to Me, breakdown across taxes, title, registration & dealer fees, APR, payment, etc... No gimmicks, no games, no hard sell. He was very respectful and didn't keep emailing me every 15 minutes asking if I had made up my mind. My situation ended up changing and I decided to not buy the car, but not because of Nick or Star Mazda, but because of personal circumstances. Had it been otherwise, I would have been absolutely delighted to buy my car this way and from Nick. 5 STARTS to Star Mazda for their Internet Sales capabilitites and response, and to Nick for his professionalism, customer handling, responsiveness, and being customer-centric! read more

Like most people, I hate the process of buying a car. Additionally, I initially never imagined buying/driving a Mazda. However, that mindset started to change when I saw that Car and Driver has ranked Mazdas above other comparable vehicles that last few years. That's when I gave Star Mazda a call and I met John Smith. From our first conversation this was a different experience. John was not pushing me to buy, but genuinely interested in the "perfect" vehicle for me. He never once offered me something I didn't want, but rather, listened to my interests and worked with them. John initially suggested the base model, Mazda 3 because it seemed to fit my requirements (i.e. He wasn't trying to make a sale for himself, he was trying to get me what fit best with the standards I was laying down), but in the discussion (not negotiation) we all realized that I wanted "a little more". I ended up spending a little more and now own a fully loaded Mazda 3 Hatchback. I'm happy with the price that we worked out, the payments, and the APR. I will say, we did negotiate the final price for a while, AND John worked it as low as he could manage, but John was straight forward, fair and honest. He's a real stand up guy! I don't imagine buying a vehicle anytime soon, but if I have to, I'm going back to JS! #DamnThoseWheels read more

No Star Mazda in Glendale I bought my Mazda in 2010 because I was told that it was one in the same as Ford I sure made a mistake there service department does not compare to Fords....Ford would at least let me know I was nearing the end of my maintenance and warranty not like Mazda they want you to go over so that they can charge you all they possibly can. Most resent situation my light bulb went out on me opened my owner's manual to find out we can't even change our own light anymore (sucks) so I called made an appt had light changed and now I am driving around with a white light and a yellow light...now my car looks ghetto. seem like they dont care about what there product looks like once it leaves there lot. I called the service department spoke to Mike/Tuffy, rude didn't get any where hung up and I spoke to Eric the supervisor they want me to take in my car and pay again to see what they could tentatively do for me. We bought our 2016 Mazda6 from Star Mazda back in March and we love it!!! More importantly, we loved the service we received from Star Mazda. After we filled out the finance app online, Kyle gave us a call within minutes to go over the information and get a jump on the approval process. We had tried other dealerships, including those closer to us, however, no one was willing to work with us. Many of them said they would give us a call back the same day and then probably shoved our stuff off to the side because we didn't hear back from them for days. We actually had to call a dealership back a week later because they never got back to us. However, Kyle was 100%+ customer service from the get go. We were approved within minutes of getting off the phone with him. When a better offer came back for us, he immediately called us to let us know. We originally were looking at a used car they had on their lot, but were unable to come down right away to claim it. When it was sold by another associate, Kyle made sure to contact us to let us know. He then asked us how he could still help us in finding a car. It wasn't in a pushy way, or a way that would make you feel like they are just trying to make a sale. He listened to our wants and needs and presented us with the option of a new car. We hadn't even thought about a new car and though we wouldn't get approved. It turned out to be exactly what we needed and wanted. Kyle made sure every detail was checked. We were quickly approved again with the same monthly payment as the used car would have been with way more amenities. Best part, there was no haggling! Kyle gave us the best price from the get go and they worked with our small down payment. It was such a worry free process with Star Mazda that we literally drove down there, signed our contract, and drove off with our new car. In, out, and on with our day. Thank you Kyle and the entire Star Mazda team for taking the stress out of car buying! read more
