Ordered wrapping paper on December 3rd, got a call same day that they couldn't process my order, that it needed to be sent to a warehouse, and that I would be notified when it was ready for pickup... Kept checking the order status and the status never changed from "order placed." Got an email not long after that stating that my order was delayed and wouldn't be ready until after Christmas. I decided to be patient and wait. January 4th I reach out to customer service because the order status never changed. They said it was still being worked on and I would be notified when it was ready. Irritating, but ok. Kept checking the order status and nothing changed. Today, 2/5/26, got an email saying I picked up my order. Called the store to tell them I did not pick up the order and they said that my order had been ready since before Christmas and because it sat there for 2 months THEY THREW IT AWAY!!!! They told me that I should have not contacted customer service and should have called the store. How would I know that??? I told them that I still wanted my order and they said they would remake it and it would be ready after 4pm. Went after work to pick it up and the guy at the checkout counter was the rudest man! No eye contact, condescending tone, and not very nice to the guy he was training. Just all around a horrible experience. So disappointed that I was told I would get an email when my order was ready... never got an email. I just don't understand why the store never reached out to me. They acknowledged that there was system error but still placed the blame on me for calling customer service instead of them as if I know how their system works. Bad customer service and team work from every closing shift worker. Over 5 people at checkout and over 8 people in returns and no employee had a sense of urgency. No one paid attention to those wanting to checkout for over 10 mins and those customers should be priority since they are the ones making the store have a sale. Meanwhile returns also had an employee who has no urgency can was overwhelmed but no employee came to help until about 20 mins later. Took an hour just to return 3 items. From one retail employee to another prioritizing customers when they are present is more important than the rest of your daily task. read more

Went into this Staples to pick up ink and a couple of items. Was greeted with a long Amazon return order line that we stood in. The older Asian man who is clearly overworked, told the ones who were buying items and not seeking returns to go around and stand in the checkout line, which we did. When we got in the line there were two ladies who were not in the original Amazon line nor were they in front of us. He then said we need to stand in the order we originally were in, and then when we told him that we were in the line they were not, they proceeded to lie and say they were in the line and I suppose he expected us to get behind them. We are black, they were Hispanic. I am not saying this seemed racially motivated, I just left my stuff there and walked out. Why is he the only cashier in the front of the store by the way? Came in today to do my TSA Pre-Check, and had fast friendly service. We already filled out the pre-enrollment paperwork online, so when we came in to the store today, our passports were scanned, we were fingerprinted, and pictures our were taken. I work at the Guitar Center next door and I frequent this staples weekly. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable so they get the 1 star, but there aren't enough of them scheduled. They only have 1 person doing amazon returns AND ringing people up, so both lines end up really long with at least a dozen people waiting and you're waiting for at least 15 mins just to pay for something. They need to put the Amazon returns back over to the printing station so the cashier isn't drowning in customers OR just staff more people. Totally ridiculous read more

I went to the TSA station where the staff told me that she was not aware that she was supposed to help with Amazon return and repetitively told me "it'll take a while" when no one even showed up to their TSA app. She came to Amazon return and mumbled "some people just can't wait". I really like Staples. I've been shopping at this location for over 9 years. Honestly, printing isn't expensive unless you're looking to get full color. It's funny to see that some negative reviews only gave one star when after all they DID receive good customer service in the end. I've always been helped when I've needed it. It's no Best Buy to have so many associates on the floor, and if something doesn't work, it sounds like Staples does a good job in providing good customer service. But then again, I do my research before I buy things, that includes reading reviews, so I know what to expect. And whoever hasn't worked at a retail store, though it seems most stores keep their layout, there's some things that need to be moved around. Its for selling purposes. In all, I haven't had a bad experience and Staples is my number 4 store to shop at. It was #3 when my child had school projects. Hello world! As a regular DIY'er me and my fiancé go to Staples. When we're in the area we go to this location in Moreno Valley. Not just once, but EVERYTIME we have went we haven't had good customer service. The location is clean and big but that's where the positives end. For example, we brought in laserjet printing paper to print some wedding design on. We've done this multiple times at the Riverside location. We showed the cashier the packaging and receipts of our transactions in the past. She was unconcerned and told us to go elsewhere. After a long day at work, I just wanted a minimal amount of care or energy towards my request. Furthermore, their inventory always seems to be out of stock. If it's printer ink, toner, or human decency, they are out of it. If you want anything for your personal or business needs done in a professional manner, PLEASE go to the Riverside Staples location. Worst customer service! I had entered the store and a young lady named Sarah was at the front counter helping a woman and chatting with her. I walked to the back of the store to get some paper for my printer. I decide to use the restroom but it has a combo lock on it. I have a knee issue and really didn't want to walk all the way to the front of the store but i did anyway. I was about 20 feet from Sarah and she was still chatting with the same woman. She saw me as i had waved to her and asked her for the code to the restroom. She just looked at me and kept talking to the woman. I asked again and she picked up the laptop she was typing on, and turned her back to me. Extremely rude! I then had to limp all the way to the checkout counter and interrupt the guy at the register for the code which he gave me. Customer service is everything. On Wednesday I went in to store on Canyon Springs Parkway needed to do copying scanning documents I was next in line so when Naomi finish with a customer I advise her I needed to do a fax and needed assistance I was sure if I pay first before faxing doing this encounter with Naomi she was very abrupt rude talked down to be and very demeaning way as if I didn't know how to use the fax she became impatient she ask if I had a rewards number I gave to her she said your not in the system she need not try and sign me up she walk away begin helping other customers never came back to see if the fax was going through I had to ask her for assistance because the fax did not go through she said you have to try it again later on today so I ask if I could try it again now she said yes so begin the fax again she walk away again never return to see if the fax was going through in the fax it stating faxing so I waited mins you I had 15 pages but was thinking this is taking a very long time so I went to register where Naomi was standing and asked if she can sign me up for rewards while my fax was going through she frown and said yes I ask if there was a problem she begin talking loud stating you came in with an attitude I assured her no I just requested some help so I ask for the managers name she said there is Scott here she called him on walkie talkie he came nonchalant to speak with me he never apologized I informed him of Naomi actions she took with me which were rude , bad attitude as if she didn't want to work today!! So he said the fax could take Up to thirty minutes to an hour I found that to be odd!! So I ask if I could scan the documents to the person email he said yes which the cost was much cheaper than faxing I felt that this service should have been recommended prior to faxing seeing that it was a problem with faxing those documents had Naomi suggested this as well as Scott there would have not been a need to call manager regarding Naomi nasty attitude She carry on stating I want you out here as if she own staples employee like this that provoked or confrontational with any customer should not be working with customers she was also rude with her co-worker!!
