She located the printer cartridge for the Canon printer I had& located the model of the laser printer cartridge I would need for this model printer. I used staples online to order a few prints, when I went to pick them up the words were slightly misaligned. Thomas, was so helpful and quickly got the issue straightened out. He had quite a few customers when I arrived, and I was impressed by his attentiveness to each of us. I mean, bear in mind that this is a Staples, and there is only so much excitement that can come from ye olde office supply store [probably, unless you have a paperclip fetish or something]. The merchandise is basically the same as all the rest of the office supply stores in town, and there are precious few surprises. However. The staff at this location has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help me out with some faulty hardware, and I'm both pleased and impressed at their willingness to go the extra mile. It would have been far easier to simply tell me they were terribly sorry they couldn't help and shoo me on my way, instead of digging through the computer system to find records of purchase and then swapping things out for me. They also made sure I had what I needed to prevent a recurrence of the issue, based on previous experience, and were incredibly kind about it all. read more

I will never do business with this Staples again. My purpose was to get a shipping label printed. Imediately the 2 employees behind the counter in printing were expressing the couldn't do it. One advised I could use the self help printer. I get to the printer and the printer requires a $5 hold fee for the use of the printer. It tells you it's a temporary, it'll drop once your print is done. We all know that's a joke. It'll take up to five business days for a hold to drop off. I go back to the counter and tell him I'm not trying to have a $5 hold on my card for a .13 cent print out. Yes .13cents! He then says he could do the print for me but there is a 30% charge if it's done by them and I'd have to wait because they had other orders ahead of me. Then said it could be ready in a day! Trying to figure out what 30% of 13 cents, had me and another customer scratching our heads. Staples evidently doesn't care to employee enough staff to handle the customers, and definitely don't understand that they're not the only copier in the area. You'd think that customer service and convenience is priority in business. Needless to say, the lady I was scratching my head with, advised me there's a FedEx down the street. I use FedEx for printing and packaging so I went. FedEx had me in and out in minutes, like 5 minutes. I knew to email the shipping label to them as I waited in line. As soon as I told the employee my name she checked her computer, printed the shipping label, I paid and that was that. Staples needs to check out the competition to see what good Customer Service is. Plus it doesn't take hours or days to print one page. Again FedEx on Midlothian go for all your printing needs, I never mind waiting when they're busy because their employees are wonderful.At all locations. read more

The customer service for office furniture is amazing! I orders 2 desk chairs and one was delivered broken. Staples replaced the chair and put it together for me at no charge. Very helpful! read more

I went in to browse. Didn't see anything I needed. Art stopped me and was so sweet. He wanted to know if I couldn't find what I was looking for today. He was so dear and concerned. There is something wrong here - you would think a dying culture would try to hang on just a little longer by trying harder, wouldn't you? I have never had anyone volunteer to help me here. When I have asked for help, staff will radio for whoever's job it is to actually help people, and if you're in the right location, you can see them look right at you and decide that piddling with the shelves is more important than helping you! I also see staff observe the backed up check out lines and decide they just are not backed up enough yet to go and help clear the line. Apparently there is a problem here such that having perfectly neat shelves and standing in one place is a much higher priority that helping customers. The staff seems to have no knowledge of their own .com business or how to integrate the B&M side with the web side - waste of time to try to check options/alternatives with them. I had been searching for an office chair to replace a very old one we have in our guest room. I stumbled across the ,"Staples Eckert Bonded Leather Midback Office Chair." It had rave reviews mostly based on comfort and I immediately knew I needed it when I saw the sale price! Staples.com stated there were none available for shipment, however one was available at this store, 1248 CarMia Way.. it's a good 30 minute drive for me, and Richmond traffic is just ridiculous. I called the store and spoke with Faye Vega, asking her to confirm they had the chair and I explained to her the long drive I'd be making to pick up this dream chair with a dream price!! Honestly was sooo excited! Faye had me on hold while she searched and than needed to call me back as I think the chair was in their storage area. Anyway, she called me back and said she found the chair and I could come pick it up. So, I placed my online order and headed that way, right after I spoke to her. When I walked in, I was greeted by Casey Riley.. kind young man, however when he showed me the office chair, I noticed significant damage, the base had multiple scratches,bolts were missing from the arm rest area, and the leather was also scratched on the back upper of the chair! First off, no one, including Faye had mentioned to me, this chair was an open box floor model, or that it was so damaged! Casey spoke with Faye and he said they could not give me the chair for less than( $10 more than I paid online.) I assume they did not know the advertised price on their website which I had already purchased... When I told him that was actually complete bullshit because I had paid this much already, Casey tried getting in touch with the general manager, Joe, who was in his store office, in the back. Joe told him he could offer 10% discount for the damage.I demanded that I speak with Joe in person. I was waiting for nearly 20 minutes and not once did Joe make an appearance or try to resolve the issue. Casey told me he was on a conference call.. Towards the end of my visit, I spoke with Kristin, an inventory specialist. She had a very rude disrespectful demeanor and has obviously never heard the motto, the customer is always right. She continued to argue with me that my card hadn't been charged yet and that she would have sent me an email that the chair was not available if I would have waited..??? I tried to explain to her that I already spoke with her manager, Faye, before coming to the store but Kristin was not having it..talking over me and huffing and puffing..she was not helpful in the least. Complete waste of my time! Kristin definitely should not be working in customer service! The moral to my story, stay away from this location!!! read more
