Computer World proved themselves again last week. I did not introduce myself as one of their regular customers, but, no mind, the person at the front heard my tale of woe. He offered to check my laptop in case it was something he could quickly pinpoint. And he did. It was a dumb problem caused by me (unnoticed loose charger cord) and he graciously mentioned that it is a common oversight, nothing to be embarrassed about. Always competent professionals. It's been a month since I took my computer here to get fixed, and it's even more messed up than I initially realized. They left a bunch of remote access and antivirus software on my laptop, my iCloud won't sync correctly, and there's a lot of little things that tweak bad. I swear every week I find some new issue. Would have been better off factory resetting it myself and saving the money. I've had to uninstall practically everything anyways. read more

Zero stars would be more appropriate. I have worked with Computer World for a while. Justin has been great but Jerome the owner is awful. I bought a computer and decided it was too large of a screen so went back and bought a smaller 16" screen. I thought it was fine but after a few weeks the screen would go all blue and red and squiggly and you could not do anything other than shut down. I reported to Computer World and they told me to bring it in. I did and they "fixed" it. A couple of weeks later it happened again, and kept happening. After a few times of bringing it in I asked that they just give me a new computer, clearly this one was defective. They said I had to talk to Jerome who was not in, I left a message and he never called me back. Eventually I reach him and he is extremely rude on the phone and tells me I can just return it. Even though I was only asking for another computer. The exact same except minus the defect. He tells me to return it and hangs up on me. I bring my old computer in and ask them to set up the other screen and they do. After this is done I am advised that I have to pay $50 for their work. Now had they not sold me a defective computer there would have been no work. In addition, because I am a student I could have had U of R do this for me at no charge. If he intended on charging me I should have been told that. I have bought two computers from them and sent two referrals and this is how he treated me. I will never work with them again and would advise everyone else to not bother. Once there is a problem he takes no responsibility for it. Terrible customer service and defective computer. read more

I've been to Computer World numerous times over the years. They always were polite and courteous. They fixed my computer issues at a really good price. I've read some of the negative reviews, and I think people are expecting to get top of the line new computer parts for a wholesale price. I don't expect brand new pricy parts. I just want to keep my computer working. And that's what these guys do. read more

I received a very alarming (what turned out to be phishing) email and was panicking that my personal information had been compromised. When I showed up these guys dropped everything to check my computer and my phone. These people are crooks, they sold us 2 IMacs and they didn't work right from day one and then when I paid to have them checked out by Apple they found out that all the insides had been taken out and replaced with far less efficient equipment that were not Apple licensed. These people are not good and are tricking people into buying defective products! read more

Jerome's model of refreshing used computers when possible instead of adding to landfills provides a great community service. These techs know how to scrub a computer and advise when it's time for a newer system. They are effective and efficient. Don't go here if you have a Mac Pro They not only are totally out of touch with Apple and their warranty, they will try and replace your screen with used products. They cost me a lot money & and months of wasted time because they are out of touch. On top of that they are not very nice to work with. Real bad attitude. read more

I use Computer World to buy used computers for all our restaurants. We use them for managers that need new laptops- or for desktops for the office. I once deleted a 20 hour spreadsheet project and they recovered in in minutes when two other computer places said it was a lost cause. They've also dialed in to work computers to fix bugs over the phone. If you go to best buy or Sam's to buy a computer it takes literally half an hour at best- I was in and out of Computer World this week, with all the Office Suite, Computer, keyboard and mouse in 5 minutes. They "built" me 2 computers and gave me a 30 day warranty. Well soon after the 30 days I started getting a blue screen and my computer started freezing. Now my other computer, which runs loud as a tractor has now died. Of all the computers I've bought at over priced Best Buy stores... I'd be better off spending my money cause one of those lasted way longer all together then the ones I've bought here. A lady that works there is nice, and the owner or manager is too, but some of the tech guys have no communication or customer service skills. read more

Very affordable computers, very affordable prices for repairs, and usually quick turn around time. I have been a customer of computer world for a little over 4 years and I have been more than satisfied..........that is up until recently. I have given Computer World over $3000 in business and I had always felt like I was appreciated as a customer. But recently I took a computer in there that I purchased from there and needed to get some work done to it. I am such a regular customer the owner knows me and my family by name. I was told that it would be a day before my computer would be fixed, but I gave them (Justin) 2 days before I went back. When I went back my computer still hadn't been touched and Justin told me that he had to do something else that was urgent. I said ok I'll come back tomorrow and I actually gave him 2 more days. When I went back my computer still hadn't been touched. I asked, "What is the problem?" and he said he just didn't get back around to it. So I removed my computer from there, took it to another computer place and thankfully my computer was fixed the same day. Unfortunately for Computer World I have now found me another computer place that offers faster service, and it is closer to my home. If I never would have been put on the back burner, I would still be doing business with them. I think they just got too comfortable with me. Beauticians do the same thing. Once you've been a customer for a while they tend to slack in the customer satisfaction area. So if you're a new customer you will more than likely have luck for a while. But once you get old its best that you move on or you'll be treated like you don't exist. read more
