I don't write reviews for places. I essentially gave this place an integrity test and they failed. I brought in my first ever custom pc build that I set up with some help from a more knowledgeable friend. It had been crashing frequently for some reason and I brought it to them to diagnose. They held it for over 2 weeks before sending me a triple tier repair quote, ranging from $610 (more than the cost of the entire motherboard build minus maybe the gpu) all the way up to $850. These repair tiers included various things that did not actually need to be done to the computer (driver installs, os updates, things any conscious human could do on their own via a quick google search). I know this because I dissected the motherboard when I got home and immediately found the issue: the plastic strip on the m2 heat sink was still in place, effectively insulating my ssd drive. Upon replacing the drive, and removing the plastic of course, my system has been operating flawlessly since, except for of course the video display port on my gpu now having rendering and screen tearing issues it had never remotely experienced before taking it to the shop. To put it in perspective, this would be like taking your car to the mechanic because you've been leaving your handbrake on every time you drive it, and they quote you almost the cost of the car itself to perform some general maintenance. Any reputable mechanic would tell you the issue, maybe check for damage as a result, and send you out the door likely with little to no charge. I'm pretty disappointed, especially with how desperate the technician seemed to have my business, despite never actually looking at the computer. All in all, I'd say if you know absolutely nothing about fixing computers and want it fixed properly, just be ready to empty out your wallet for whatever insane amount they quote you, so they can potentially solve your actual issue; or maybe just solve a non-issue and keep you coming back when your system still has problems. read more

If you're looking for an honest and fair place, you've found it. I was having some minor issues with my laptop and asked if I could stop in via Instagram and was messaged back within a few minutes. Upon arrival everyone was friendly and they were able to look at my laptop. They explained the issue and actually recommended me to talk with apple to get a free replacement part instead of telling me to do it in house earning themselves revenue. THESE GUYS ARE TERRIFIC. They sorted out two Windows machines for me (a Dell desktop and an HP notebook) that just would NOT finish startup. I have a BlackBerry Key2 LE. I was having charge port issues. I was referred to Computer Cave by the manager of another cell phone repair company. When I called I spoke with Joey. He was very helpful & made sure that they would be able to repair my phone before I made the 1hr 45min drive to their shop. When I got there they examined my phone & ordered the correct part. I was told up front what the repair with the part would be. I told them to order the part. It arrived two days later. It took less than 30 mins for Joey to complete the repair. My phone works like new once again! I am so thankful I called them. They are awesome across the board. I researched the expected repair cost before going in. It was right around the expected cost. The service was excellent, very approachable. Explained everything clearly. Told me the expected repair date, but I was pleasantly surprised when it was done a few days early due to quick part delivery. I appreciate them giving me a conservative time estimate rather than over promising and under delivering. Had a broken phone that needed a few capacitors looked at and micro soldered in addition to a replacement home button. Heard from a guy at a local store about this spot. Emailed them and got a response same night. Andrew, they guy that runs the joint, was able to: 1) Have all the work needed done and ready for pickup before a full 24 hours had passed. 2) Had thrown in some extra care for no extra charge - repairing another part of the logic board i hadn't know was damaged, cleaning, replacing parts I had either damaged, lost, or just neglected to put back in when fiddling with the phone myself. I was impressed by their ticket system and web portal - you get detailed notifications about the status of your tech. Hadn't been expecting something like that for a small business. Not to discredit any of the other local tech repair shops, but Andrew and his business have a professional and pleasant demeanor I have found to be uncommon in the area. Additionally, Andrew was able to quote me a fair price from another micro soldering company when I had asked.
