I am going to keep this short and sweet as much as possible but I want to explain how much went into the work of the Easy Tech guys at the Cypress Staples. When I came online to write a review about this Staples I saw all these poor ratings. It made me think how we complain about the negative, (i.e. we tell ten friends about something bad but neglect to give a shout out for the good deeds!) I dont always take the time to say when things go great so I came online to make sure they got credit for their hard work!! In my humble opinion, everything happens for a reason. So after dealing with a computer that I could barely get to boot, I took my computer into Staples to be de-bugged. I had a nasty virus that doesnt look like a virus but looks like the actual anti-virus software itself... smart huh? Try ingenius... The virus warning is actually where the virus was installed on y PC; a pop-up screen pretends to do a scan and then tells you that you have 715 (not actual #) things to fix. I chose option No thanks, exit without fixing errors and apparently, which triggers the virus. If you click on the X to exit, you ALSO enable the virus... so either way, they got me. Next, I got a whole bunch of pop up screens that look like options to 'fix' the errors my computer from their fake scan. Any action, it begins to reproduce like friggen rabbits! The screen says pay $X to remove this virus (which it doesn't remove it, it lays dormant) and any unsuspecting person will give out personal credit card info, with the intention to complete the process of de-bugging... only it's a fake and now they have your c/c info. Not good. Luckily for me, I am cheap. Several months later, the remnants in the folders release another virus; making the goal for them to get paid. Again. Or at least until people figure out that your solution IS the actual virus. Even trickier, so the virus is not found, the virus itself places fragments in file folders throughout your computer, making it hard to delete. That is where the story began. I went to Staples to scrub my system. The Manager, Brian said that scrubbing your system is a Band-Aid plus I would have lost important software needed for work. It's costly and time consuming to recover your data, software, and files. I had 1800+ of those viruses on my system. And it cost me the same about for 1 as it cost me for 1800. After a full scan, the next day they rebooted my system to do another scan and this is when they found out that the virus was reproducing itself; they called me, explaining they found 900 more viruses, that the new virus gets activated and the process goes on, over and over. They saw a pattern and learned to delete the hidden files in the folders. Once they had all of the viruses gone and removed, they re-booted the system to run another scan and once their tests came back clean, they called me to p/u my system. At pick up, Brian/Mgr booted the system to show me and we saw this little green icon pop up on the right -hand corner that said "KeepMySettings with an X marked. This was new. When we hovered over the icon to get the properties and delete the program, but when we went to remove the program, there wasnt any program in control panel... so once again, I left my PC so they could figure out the problem. They did it. Amazingly, they did it because after of year of struggling, dealing with this craziness, I know exactly what they were up against. So here is the skinny of the pricing. I purchased their Sofos software, a business grade anti-virus that runs in the background, scanning my system every hour; cost $40. The virus removal would have been $99, whether it's for 1 or 100 (or 1800 in my case) viruses but I opted to go with the tech support. For $150 for the first year, I can purchase online tech support; for an extra $50, I got the same service for two years, so the grand total for the software and the two years of full maintenance and since I had the contract, I didn't have to pay for the virus removal. Once the system is home, I can log in online and let tech support access my system remotely to make the corrections so now I dont even have to drive to Staples, which was a good thing, since I didnt know about the Staples that was much closer than the one I drove to 15 miles away but oh well! Things happen for a reason because I got the tech support needed to fix my system and I don't have to rely on anyone else! I had some big angels looking out for my PC, that's for sure! The grand total was $280.30; they even discounted me to an even $250 for all that! And these boys, especially the manager, Brian, worked their tails off and did a fantastic job FIXING (not scrubbing) my computer. I didnt lose a picture or file, and the only loss was my bookmark toolbar preferences, which just needed to be changed on my browsers. Took 30 seconds. So I am going to give Staple's, Cypress' store's Easy Tech center 5 stars... only cuz I couldn't give them a perfect 10! read more

I was just here and was given a hard time for no reason. Made a purchase with a total of about $300, pulled out the Staples app on my iPhone to show my staples rewards number. I also had 2 Staples checks ($20 EACH) from my rewards account that I told them I wanted to redeem on this purchase and was denied. They said I needed to have them printed out and that I could only use one. WTF???? Ok fine, I asked to let me borrow a computer to log on to my staples rewards account to print them. I printed and handed them over. The manager took the print outs I gave and "EXAMINED" them and reluctantly scanned them to apply to the purchase. Not sure what the hell that was all about with that manager .... Bad experience overall and I don't think I want to shop here in the future .. read more

I use to work for Staples at another location. This one is a lot smaller and more chilled though. The associates are suppose to greet there customers on the floor within 30 secs or less if I can remember said the corporation as mystery shoppers takes points off if they don't. I really can't see how that is possible sometimes and got judged from that from experience. Working here is a handful so I cut them a lot of slack and I honestly don't care if they greet me or not. If I need help I will look for it and i think shopping in peace is a good thing. If they are over helping me then I will get annoyed and think they think I was jacking something from the store. Haha! I'm never coming here again. Came in just to get two photos printed and Larry told me that it would take 5 hours because he had to print other things before mine. It's a first come first served basis. I went down the street and went to Office Depot and they printed out my pictures right away. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I'm always going to Office Depot from now on. read more

Worst Staples of all. I'm not going back. Even when their computer says they have the simpliest items in stock, they don't. They cannot find them anywhere and we are just talking simple sheet protectors. I am continually frustrated with this store as their stock seems to continually be depleted. The employees are not friendly and don't greet you as they are obligated to. They seem bigoted and not professional to be customer service representatives for a company like Staples. It's not too hard to say hello and smile for visitors who are shopping and spending their money. The point is to be polite at all times and not prejudice towards others regardless of their origin or nationality or creed. read more

I came here to pick up two label cartridges. Two registers were open but were helping customers that seemed to be a task in itself. After standing in line for fifteen minutes, and three employees just wondering about and not helping or being friendly at all, another employer finally opened another register when they noticed a line of six customers just standing around. One of the worst places to get in and out of. Staff is slow as molasses. read more

On Wednesday, April 16th I went to Staples on Katella in Cypress and placed an order for 3 poster board pictures of my father, who passed away, for his viewing the following day. I was told by Roberto that he had a lot of work but that he could have it ready the next day in the morning at 10. He said he wasn't going to be in but that his relief would take care of it and that she was the only one that knew how to run the machine. To make a long story short I trusted that my order would be ready so I went to pick it up around 1 pm. When I got there my order hadn't even been started yet! Really what kind of service is that. The lady who was there had no sympathy whatsoever. She said she still HAD to go on her lunch and wasn't sure if she would be able to get it done! When I again came back, she said she tried calling me, which I had no missed calls, saying that the paper was jamming and that she had nothing for me.. Again with no sympathy. I'm not normally a complainer but this was not right. This was for my father's funeral and no one cared. She didn't even offer anything else. Perfect would give them 10 Stars if I could. - I had an order for close to 900 pages that I needed printed. Unfortunately there was some misunderstanding and the order didn't come out completely right. I had a deadline to make. Staples fixed the order with immediately with great accuracy and speed. The people in their printing department are 100% confident and on it. (smiles to Roberto) Their manager is a 10- star deal as well. I highly suggest them to help get the job done. Terrible service, the customer service is slow and unresponsive. We went to print a PDF file, and the technician guy was doing other people's jobs first who came in wayy after us. It takes us more than 30 mins just to print a simple PDF file. read more

By FAR the worst customer service I have ever had in my entire life. The staff here seem like they are working in a prison or some place other that is slowly eating away at their souls. I felt I couldn't ask for assistance, because whenever I did they made me feel like I was placing a huge burden on their day & actually making them do some work. So I ending up looking around for my item for over 20 minutes before finally giving up & deciding to order it online...from ANOTHER company after this terrible experience! Stay away from this store at all costs & order online like I did instead...it's much easier & MUCH better customer service even though it's a robot! read more

This experience was a nightmare at first. I went to the Anaheim store to Purchase these items and the had the desk and the bookshelf in stock but not the hutch for the desk. So I proceeded to place an in-store order that would be shipped to my front door. After spending nearly 3 hours in store not much was accomplished. The manager was really helpful and he did everything he could but the system would not take my address and kept showing that every item was out of stock even though that was not the case at all. We called staples phone support and even another store and the order simply could not be placed. I even tried to order the items online at my house and the same thing kept happening. It kept saying that the items were out of stock and the quantities kept updating themselves to 0. I used to work for staples so I understand these things but the people who manage the inventory system need to get it together because they almost lost a sale. So finally I decided since their system would not take my address to have it shipped to the closest store to my house. This could not be done either so I had to pick it up and the Cypress store. Before I went to pick the items up I called to make sure they were in fact ALL there. The staples automated system called me two days in a row prior to this day stating there was a delay and my order was going to be late.The associate on the phone confirmed all 3 items were there so I went with my boyfriend to pick them up since he has a truck and the boxes are quite heavy. So we get there and it turns out only the bookshelf and hutch were there and not the desk. The manager on desk was a chubbier man, he appeared to be Caucasian. I was very upset to have driven there to find out not everything was there as an associate had stated, this was on Saturday. I suggested that he tell his associates to be more thorough with these type of things as some customers' time is very valuable. So he did not offer any apology or agree with that suggestion I made and awkwardly loaded the items into the truck. He told me my desk would arrive on Monday and for "some reason" it was delayed. I returned on Tuesday, a day after it was supposed to arrive and it was still not there. I was very frustrated at this point and a young caucasian manager was by himself working that day. He did everything he could and was just wonderful about fixing this issue. He had the same desk I ordered in stock and gave me that one, and it happened to be on sale so for my troubles I got the difference in store credit which was wonderful. However when I arrived at home one of the panels of the desk was was broken through the box, and had a large crack in it. After being so fed up with the time time spend trying to get all of my items I just kept the desk even though its damaged. I hope staples really fixes a few things such as associate awareness, the way they package their furniture and train the people who load it not to damage it all the time. I also hope that other manager (the chubbier one, and I'm not trying to be mean that is the only thing I remember about him) at the Cypress store learns better customers service skills for his sake. Ironically i found out my orginal desk order was delayed because it had been sent back for being damaged, and I still managed to come home with a damage desk. Do not use this printing service. They charge $1.00 to open a document on a flash drive! So ridiculous! I had serval items picked out for purchase and went to go print my resume and was told to just open the document it costs $1.00. I was immediately turned off and left the store. read more

If I could give this store negative stars I would. Their customer service sucks! I asked where I could find some magnets and one employee said "I'm not sure. I would ask someone else." Another employee said " what are magnets?" Seriously!!! The store manager is a complete jerk. He acted like I was interrupting him when I was asking for help. This post is actually in response to Annie K's post below from 11/22/2013. I actually do a lot of business with Staples and in this location mostly. Roberto and Heather help me almost everytime I'm in the store. And let me tell you- I've seen how they interact with customers. They're great. So no offense, Annie K., but you're probably one of those typical customers who think the world revolves around them, wants assistance immediately even when there are others who were waiting before you, and for lack of better words just a pain in the ass. I wonder if you've ever worked retail.. I can usually tell if a person has or hasn't. Those who have are much more understanding of the crap employees take from customers on an hourly basis and don't put them through anymore crap. I'm going to let you in on a little secret. The majority of the time, if you show an ounce of appreciation and kindness to an employee (a tiny bit of patience helps too) they'll be more than happy to help you with whatever you need. I worked in retail for six years. I got treated like crap by customers more often than not it seems, so I know how these employees feel. One more thing.. you got everything for free. Trust me, they didn't have to do that. Kinda sounds like your problem was solved. Okay, that concludes my rant. I just wanted to stand up for a couple Staples employees I know personally. read more

Have been to this location several times...every time I stop by here, service is always horrible. The first time, they won't give me a raincheck for a sale item that was out of stock. Second time, stopped by to pick up an online order; ordered 12 items (clearly noted on the order confirmation of what was order and the quantity), the manager refuse to give me was was ordered and only gave me 2 for the price of 12 (False advertisement). Third time, went in to return and online order; Micheal doesn't know what he was doing, called Mgr (walked over with an attitude because I was return and online order). The employees in this store have no personality and customer service!!!!! Was going to shop around after returning the item, didn't bother after giving them business after the crappy attitude I received. If there is an option for negative star rating, they will be getting one from me with no hesitation. read more

Wow! What happened to customer service? Went in to exchange ink cartridges that my work usually orders online. Waited 15 min in customer service line & then girl says I need to talk to a manager. I turn to "Larry" & no smile he says "what do you want?". I explain that I wanted to exchange some ink cartridges & he says "show me". Since I had a bag & didn't want to dump them on the floor, I ask "where can I show you?" He says the counter so I turn around & there's 3. So I pick one & I tell him the cartridges that I need & he says "go pick out what I need". What happened to service? I come back after grabbing my items, not even realizing he never told me how much the ones I was returning were worth. Guessing game? I overhear him explaining to the customer in front of me that spent Xmas with his 3 kids & 10 grand kids. That explains everything!!! Staples should not have GRUMPY OLD MEN managing their stores!
