I recently purchased a HP Desktop Computer at this Staples and I had an extremely positive experience, primarily because of the excellent service that their technical staff provided. I would like to mention Bruno in particular who was the first to assist me and help me focus in on the right product to meet my needs. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient in showing me the various computers and software options that were available and clearly explaining the differences in order to determine exactly what would work best for me. Once I made a decision on what computer to buy I was happy to purchase the in-home installation plan and have Bruno take care of setting up the computer. Again, he clearly explained all the set up options and suggested that I bring in my old computer and printer so that he could move all the data over and make sure that the software was updated to ensure that everything would work properly at home. He told me how long it might take to get it set up, kept me notified of the status, and met the due date just as promised. The in-home installation was done by Adam and he too was extremely efficient and patient in setting up the computer, explaining the various functions, and answering all of my questions. I could not be more pleased with the professionalism, attention to detail, positive attitude, and overall customer care that both Bruno and Adam displayed. The computer is working wonderfully and I highly recommend this service to anyone. I know it is more common for people to let a company know when they have complaints but I think it is just as important, if not more so, to point out excellence at work so that these employees can be recognized and rewarded for their efforts. read more

i went to staples this morning with my mom to print out some tickets for a concert i'm going to tonight. i asked the man at the printing center how to do it and he was SO rude. he was extremely hostile and actually started yelling at me because i didn't have the "email" option on the tickets. he was absolutely no help and just let me struggle while trying to figure it out on my own. it put me in a bad mood and it took everything in me not to immediately speak with his manager. if you need anything printed out, don't go to staples on 17th!!!! read more

Came in on August 28th after my class at Orange Coast College to pick up a portable hard drive and some other supplies needed for my other classes (some USB flashdrives, pencils, etc.). I came in at 8:30pm (30 minutes prior to closing). One of their tech desk employees (who earned this review 2 stars) was in the middle of re-stocking the shelves and asked if i needed help, and gave me a lot of great advice on choosing my hard drive. I still needed to grab a few things, so he put it on hold at the tech desk and said i could pick it up when i was ready and take it to the cashier. After grabbing everything else I needed (which only took about 5 minutes) I walked up to the tech desk to grab the hard drive. A man who appeared to be a manager and an employee who was opening a box (and appeared to have just gotten chewed out by the manager) were behind the counter. The manager was speaking into his earpiece to another employee, and I waited for a good minute to be helped. Finally he looked at me and said "Yes?" as if i was bothering him. I told him that i had a hard drive on hold, and he proceeded to grab my hard drive and TOSSED it on the counter in an annoyed way without saying another word. I'm usually not the kind of guy who gets offended easily, but the manager's disrespect was uncalled for, and really pissed me off. Had i not needed that hard drive for my morning class the next day, i would have thrown it back at him along with everything else and told him to go f*ck himself. Also, +1 star for the cute cashier who was all smiles and was super nice & helpful that really helped me get over the manager's disrespect. I have mixed feelings about returning to this store, as 2 employees were great, but had a d*ckhead manager. This store will probably be my last resort when I'm in need of supplies. read more

He searched databases of many different Staples in my area to compile a total of 70 identical black binders I needed at the last minute, and did a lot of extra work checking stock for me ... THEN he let me pay for everything at this store and just pick them up at the other stores. PETER ROCKS! read more

This is worst experience ever. The sales assisant is so awfully rude. When it is my term to check out，she said this out and loud" next time you come in the to store， the first thing you should do is give your bag to us". what the f？？OK，i got it maybe it is a potential problem that customers can steal things and put it into their bags，but as a civil right attorney I am telling you according to state and federal law you have no right to take my personal belonging and put it in your counter for what ever reason，it doesnot give you the right to even ask me to give you my bag，i have some cash inside my bag，what if those were missing while it is in you possess， do you staples stuff take responsibility for that ？ The worst part is there were many customers on the line with bags and she only said this to me ！what a fcking racist ！And in the end she scan and charged me twice for the same product. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be profiled and treated like a crook. First off, let me start off by saying that I am a corporate Staples Advantage customer as the Sr. Buyer for a large International corporation which does big numbers with Staples yearly. Because it's cold out I'm wearing a hoodie. My credit card had damage to the strip due to heavy usage which I informed them of and had to be manually entered which I just used at Best Buy. They claim their system won't allow for that. I call BS, but I say okay and proceed to pay with $20 bills which they state had to be checked for authenticity. HOW EMBARASSING! Then I ask if they do this to everyone which they lied and said they did. Screw you Store Manager STEPHEN and the rest of your incompetent crew. I will be contacting corporate and my corporate account executive to relay my experience. I will be purchasing from your competitors moving forward as it is my decision which vendors to source from. Do Not bring your phone here for repair. I've had to bring my phone back the same day it was supposedly fixed and now my phone is not working at all due to just having a cracked face. It's expensive to fix and I will never bring a future phone here again. Total inconvenience. I ended up bringing my phone here for the same problem at least 4 times. Ordered business cards online for same day pickup. Called to see if they were ready on hold for over 10 minutes then hung up on called Back and spoke with Marque in printing. He gave me some BS about time zone. He was beyond rude. By then I was in the parking lot so I went in. Stood at counter no acknowledgement until a young man came to help. When I explained what was going on he said we are running behind, so what was it time zone or you were to busy Marque or are you just a liar? When I asked him to look at my confirmation email he said "I know what you want to show me" he wouldn't even look at it. He told me "it won't be ready because I have a gaggle of work before yours". I just can't believe he is in the printing department with an attitude like that. He was beyond rude so I went to the manager, told him what was going on and he walked over with me. At this point Marque wouldn't even acknowledge me. He ignored me with his manager there. I asked him so your either rude or you ignore your customers. No answer. I'll say one thing if he was an employee of mine he would have been fired. The Assistant manager who helped me said Amy would be working on it when she got in the next day. They were ready by 8:30 thanks to Amy. When their are so many choices of printing shops why would you let your employees treat customers like this? I was so upset that I had someone pick them up for me because I couldn't bring myself to go in and possibly deal with Marque if he was there. This was the second stop on my quest to find a converter that would allow me to plug in my three pronged computer charger into the two prong outlet in my bedroom. I spent a few minutes looking for the converter without any success before going up to the tech desk and asking for help. The guy said they used to carry it but didn't carry it anymore. He was able to point me to ACE hardware and told me they had it. I was very happy and ACE did end up having what I needed. I appreciate him pointing me in the right direction even if it meant sending me to a competitor. This will be my first stop in the future because of the honesty that the employee gave me. It goes to show that even though if a customer leaves empty handed good customer service can still allow them to leave happy. read more

Tried to order printer online through another location. Because it was in processing mode for 2.5 hours I had called the other store & been given the run around. Just 1 call to staples in Costa Mesa. Confirmed in stock & matched the online price. In & out in 10 min. Thanks to Gary & Sarin for "Making that so easy" on a holiday weekend. read more

I waited on hold over 10 minutes before I finally was able to talk to someone in print services. I already had finished the print job online. I was disconnected after someone picked up the phone. I had to redial only to receive attitude from the girl who answered the phone. Mind you 25 minutes had past. Next I asked for a Supervisor. I was told he was busy with another caller. At this point the girl went on to say she still didn't understand what the problem was. I told her not to worry I would speak to the supervisor the next day when I picked up my purchase. Her answer then was.....oh well they are just going to come talk to me anyway. To make a long story short, I spoke with the Manager this morning who understood my frustration. In the past I had a really good experience with Staples print jobs and the helpful employees. Hopefully they will get a handle on customer service so I can use them sometime in the future read more
