Customer service here seems like a hit and miss. Last time they were nicer. But today a lady works here refused to take Amazon returns because their "Amazon box" was full. The "amazon box" were 2 big paper boxes, they were not overflowing or anything like that. But i respected her request and waited. A line quickly created behind me for Amazon return. Yet, there are 2 ladies working at the register, one of them is Terry. Terry decided to watch her coworker moving and unloading the box herself while the line is getting longer. Maybe I don't understand what is the situation or rules with staples. If both workers are busy unloading, make sense ask people to wait a bit. But one of them just standing there and watching another worker unload, why cannot take returns while line is getting longer? On top of that, no greeting or apology for the situation. They CLEARLY don't want to deal with this side of the business at all and love to be rude to Amazon customers for no reason. Today they yelled at an elderly man who got in the wrong line and then treated me like I was ruining their day by having a return. I selected Staples for an Amazon return - they said my item was too large to "fit in the box" so they couldn't process the return. I switched the return to Kohls who accepted the item with no issues. If they have limitations on size - this shouldn't be a return process option. read more

Customer service is so lagging. I came in to return Amazon purchases, in the middle of the returning process the lady had to pack up the Amazon box because it's full. So I had to stand there watch her print a label, tape it up and move it to another location slowly before she can finish my returns. In the meantime a line started to form behind me. There is a more efficient to do this, I have seen it in other Staples. Start another box, pack it up when there's no customers waiting. We had better services here in the past buying products. Omg I just had such an odd experience here. I went to pick up an online print job that was already paid for. I was the only one in the store and when I went to the pick up counter the staff member told me she would be right with me. I proceeded to stand there while she was coaching another staff member...... they were going back and forth arguing about the situation and I was literally 5 feet from them. After 5 minutes they continued to talk and ignore me- I felt bad but I just had to interrupt to ask again if I could just grab my order. It was so uncomfortable and there was not even an apology. I have seen a few other reviews on here comment on the etiquette of the team, I obviously echo that this needs improvement. Buuuuuut the store was clean, prints look good (simple online ordering), and it's in a fab shopping center connected to all the fun stores (5 Below, Tj Maxx, Home Goods, Dollar Tree, Ralphs, CVS, etc ) so it's super easy to get a bunch of errands done or just browse. read more

The girl with half-blonde hair and blue eyes who works on lamination and submits orders to Staples clearly does not seem happy with her job. It seems like someone forced her into this role and this isn't the first time I've noticed it. It happened several times. She has a noticeable attitude when answering even simple questions, as if she's working at the White House and we're wasting her time. I frequently come here to buy office supplies for work. It's close by and granted it is a smaller Staples store, I have found that this one is well stocked with items. Friendly staff and there is also staff around to assist. I recently found out about their electronics recycling program when if you bring an item every month you get points that can accumulate to rewards. Pretty good system. Customer restroom need more frequently cleaning and restocking of supplies as well. read more

I've had consistently negative experiences with customer service here. Whenever I come in for an Amazon return, the staff act like it's a major inconvenience, which makes the whole process uncomfortable. It's gotten to the point where I hesitate to order certain items from Amazon because I dread having to return them here. The other reviews describing how customers and employees are treated are very accurate--I've seen it firsthand. This location could really benefit from better training and a focus on making the return process more welcoming. read more

There is the rudest lady named Vicki that works here. She was extremely mean to the nice older lady in front of me in line and practically was scolding her for not recycling a cartridge. And then she continued to be rude to her for not inserting her credit card properly. It literally made me so sad. Vicki then continued to be rude to another employee even after the customer left. Vicki needs to be fired immediately. I literally won't come back to this staples while she works here. Who ever manages this store has failed their staff. I have never seen a more miserable group of people in my life. If it were one or two employees I'd say, it's just them, but it's the whole staff. They are sad, depressed, and you can see they want to be anywhere other than there. It's like the 6th ring of retail hell. This is a management failure. Clearly they aren't being treated well and they already have to put up with bad customers, making it much harder to be nice to the good ones. This place needs an overhaul and some team building, starting with replacing upper management. Give them a vacation and a raise, do SOMETHING. This is just a great store-they have what I want, the price is fair and I get good customer service to boot. I like being able to ask an employee where something is and they actually know where it is! I walked in, asked if they carried an item-"yes, we have that it's on aisle 2". And it Was!! The staff at this location need to be trained in better customer service. We don't need bells and whistles, just a little bit more interest in bringing customers back. Also, if you use the copy center, make sure you check the paper type. Their copiers seem to be set for heavier stock and not regular = higher cost to customer who assumes it will be set to regular paper. It should default to regular and need to be set by customer to heavier stock if that's what they need. read more

My printer went caput, and it always happens on a weekend, later in the evening when its due the next day. I rushed into this location in a panic, and was surprised by the level of awesomeness at the employees in both the printing department and in the front registers. I wish I remembered their names. Went in for an ordinary Amazon return and figured I'd grab some TidePods on my way out (who knew they carried?) - as I was checking out Natalia at the front register let me know that since I made an Amazon Return through them I can receive a 15% discount on my purchase. This was news to me as the person who assisted with the return claimed the receipt printer was not working and did not mention the discount potential whatsoever. Natalia called her manager and explained the situation and they were able to override the discount for me! Usually my returns are easy going but today there were only two people working thereabouts after I waited 20 minutes to do my return and the guy behind the counter preferred multiple people that came after me I asked if someone else can do returns and he said nope. Five stars to the great team working at print services!!! These people work so hard and do great work with designing and printing business cards and photos and brochures. They are talented and knowledgeable and they really take the time to make sure each project is completed with individual care and attention to detail. Zero stars to Staples Upper Management. It is frustrating to see that print center specialists are forced by Staples to also be the Amazon returns staff. Advice to Staples: hire other workers for the returns or get a self service Amazon return station. The current way of combining print and return services only compromises the quality of both and encourages customers to seek other option. This also diminishes the value of both services, and brings out frustration of both the customers and employees. read more

Other times, my happy returns were not an issue. Today, I came was unacknowledged, even though all I asked was "excuse me sure, can I please get someone to help me with a return?". Guy at checkout register, said something rude "... you have to wait for the manager". The manager or other person was on the floor answering a bajillion questions from one customer. I can't seem to get anyone to help or at least tell me a wait time. This location might as well be a self-service store.... Don't do your Amazon or happy returns here. read more

Came into the printing station a few days ago after not being a regular customer at staples prior to this and I was so pleasantly surprised by the friendliness, the warmth and the extra mile that the staff went for me in my need for assistance with printing my project! Using an unfamiliar computer program for the first time, I had to print out a few images and condense them onto a single page and make multiple copies. Didn't know where to start. I was so thankful to have been assisted by a kind gentleman, Croshaun, and he directed me to a working station computer and helped every step of the way. After now playing around in the computer, getting to the pages I needed to print but unsure how to condense my images onto a single page, he came over and problem solved with me a bit on this unfamiliar program (even to him) and found a way to transfer the document off the program, and onto the computer itself, then bringing over a flash drive to us, so that he could move the document and print over at his work station behind the counter, and play with the images himself to ensure it was to my liking prior to printing it. As I was there, I was there a little longer than expected understandably because he had multiple customers throughout this time asking questions or in line ready to be checked out . In that time I waited I was able to witness he was kind and patient to all of them. So efficient in knowing how to help and prioritize each persons needs, all while helping with my project as well. He quickly got my document the exact way I needed it when it was my turn to be helped again. He never lacked any patience despite the busyness and even threw on a discount from a coupon he had behind the counter at the end of my visit. I thanked him multiple times and complimented his service. He was so very humble and appreciative. This is EXCEPTIONAL customer service. The next day, I went to another staples store in RSM (see that review) to complete another part to my project with exactly the same requests as the above , and sadly had the opposite experience. I was quite shocked by either the lack of knowledge and/or effort in helping me, even mentioning my situation above to them and how I was assisted, and mentioned what they did to problem solve at that store and they didn't try to make anything work for me and sent me away to do this project online without any assistance, it was horrible. I ended up leaving that store after not being helped and coming back to find Croshaun, which was a 40 min drive from the last store. He again was able to help me complete this project, with the same consistent excellent service as the first time, along with his colleagues that evening that were each very helpful from start to check out. I highly recommend this staples, with the highlight of the printing station staff, especially Croshaun & manager Leo. read more

Staples is usually great! Sadly, this one is not. The person answering the phone, who sounds like he's the manager and not the wonderful teens who work at this location, is so confused and unhelpful. I called three times trying to get my online order and he kept transferring me to the print department. This ended up wasting both my time and the employees time as the poor print department couldn't find my web pickup order. Finally, the print department figures out what order I'm calling about and I get to the parking lot. I park at the order pickup and call. Again, this same person answers. I tell him I am here to pickup my order in the parking lot - since their thing is touchless orders I would think he would know what curbside pickup. He sounds annoyed and asks me what information I need from him? All I needed was my order - and the last 30 minutes of my life back. read more

I shopped at Staples on 26791 Aliso Creek Road in Aliso Viejo. I was looking for a good writing ink pen. I saw a few pen sets but not quite what I wanted. So I asked Jimmy a sales person to help me find a good pen set. He showed me the pen that he used and it was just the kind of pen I wanted. It was a durable stainless steel pen set from Zebra. He mentioned that they sold refill cartridges. I was sold, so I bought two sets of pens. Diana bought a small stapler that she needed. Also a 3 pack of legal pads and a pack of pens.
