My husband went to Stanton for an eye exam and glasses. The eye exam went great. He picked out some frames for his glasses and ordered one pair of transitional lens glasses and one pair of sunglasses. Two weeks later when they came in he got two pair of sunglasses. They reordered the transitional glasses, another two weeks. Finally called and they were in. He picked them up and a week later when he was driving down the road one of the lenses popped out. Took them back, they fixed it. Got home two days later the other lens popped out. Getting pretty fed up with running to Stanton every week. I expect a little more from a $650. Purchase. read more

watch for the bait and switch.. window has sign 2 pairs of glasses and exam $79. Only they have no frames in that price range. so having already having the exam i found some very nice frames for my glasses and sun glasses. Ended up spending over $400 ( just wee bitmore than $79!).. Got my glasses they made one adjustment and told me to come back if I needed an adjustment. When my kids saw me they told me one side made my ear stick out like dumbo. When I went back in to get them adjusted I was told I had bent them and they could not be fixed.When I told them thats the way I got them I was accused of lying. The girl who clearly did not know what she was doing got frustrated and gave up. Got someone else who did know what they are doing not only got them adjust but I no longer looked like dumbo. I thought I would give them a second chance since I've been there before and they already had my information in their system but unfortunately I had a very bad experience. I came to this location by chance since I live in PB and had an appointment at a closer Stanton optical, but they apparently had a light burn out that would prevent them from doing my contact eye exam and no one called me to let me know so I got there and they sent me to this location (grossmont center Dr) and I couldn't be more happy that all of this happened. They were more than welcoming and nice to myself, my best friend and my kids right from the beginning. I got to see an actual doctor, which at the last eye appointment last year in National City I was given my eye exam over video chat which I was not ok with. My doctor not only was kind and thorough, but was very fast and efficient I was not there 10 mins before I was already with the doctor getting my exam done. Then when I was done, I was blown away with how sweet they were to my kids. Above and beyond doesn't even begin to describe the two gentleman that helped me and my best friend, Martin Dawson, and James Worsley. They were patient with me when I had a hard time picking glasses and even went out of their way to help me decide, I would have been there all day if not for their help. I was not actually going to get glasses just needed new contacts, but they worked with me and also with my best friend and showed every step of the way that they cared. I was originally only going to Stanton optical because last year with everything I got I qualified for my free contact lens eye exam this year esp after the video chat Dr. I had no intentions of returning to Stanton optical after this year, but now I'm definitely coming back and as long as these gentleman are still there and my amazing doctor that I saw, Susan Houchin who was kind, compassionate, thorough, and quick. This is not the closest one to me, but well worth the drive. My best friend was also in desperate need of glasses and didn't think she could get anything or something that she wouldn't like because of price, but with these angels she was able to walk out with (once they come in) two pairs of glasses that she absolutely loves. Not only did these people treat me amazing, but they treated the ones I love with absolute care and I have to say this was one of the best customer service/Dr visits I have EVER had. I just moved out here and I've been avoiding going to the eye doctor but I'm glad I finally came here. When I walked in everyone was super friendly and even though I didn't have my insurance card, they helped me out and were patient with me. After my appointment, Nina helped me pick out frames and complete my payment. She up-sold me on the UV protection and better glass for my lenses but wasn't too pushy. The worst place I have ever been to. The first time we went in the staff was rude. When we went back to pick up my sons glasses they couldn't find his second pair. They said they would call me when they located them and never did. I found out a month later the prescription they gave my son was too strong so we went back and I asked them to please fix it. They did but when I went in to pick them up again they couldn't find his second pair of glasses and apparently the lenses they received were cut to small and wouldn't fit his frames so they needed to send them back to have them fixed so they won't fall out of the frames. This all started back in Aug and it is now the end of Nov. I will never go back to them ever again once I get my sons glasses. O stars the service sucks. Customer care needs a lot of work. read more

Large selection of glasses. They we're having a buy one get one free sale. Becareful with their package deals. $1000 for two pairs and not designer frames. No thank you. I ended up paying $350 for the same two pairs of glasses selecting different package. Your glasses will still scratch even though scratch resistant. There will still be a glare with anti glare. There are sales clerks that help you but no Optometrist on site but on a tv screen when you get the exam. I received a message my glasses were ready. Went to pick them up and they said it was a computer glitch. Not ready yet. So I waited and waited. No call back about my glasses. I finally called and they said they were ready. One of the arms of my glasses broke as I had them on. I took them right in for repair. Still under warranty sales clerk said I would still have to pay $27.50 to have them repaired. That's the cost of the part to repair!! $350 Cheap defective plastic. I was not going to pay more. I used super glue and fixed it. read more

A pleasant experience. My glasses broke an I stopped in at Stanton Optical to ask if they did repairs. Although repairing glasses isn't one of their offers, Marc asked to see them and thought it was an easy fix for the technician. I waited a brief time and my glasses were promptly repaired and returned to me. While waiting I took time to look at the variety of frames available and noticed the range of prices, all reasonable. I also was able to observe the service being provided to people entering the store. All were greeted in a friendly manner and assisted. When I need new frames, I will return to take advantage of the two for the price of one and free eye exam. I liked being assisted and having my frame repaired. I have had several problems with Stanton Optical but at the end they made things right. I had gotten glasses last year that they sent out and when i got them I couldn't see out of them. I was told to wait a week and then came back cause I still could not see out of them. I found out that they put my husbands prescription in my frames. We both got glasses and his prescription was put in my frames too so after 3 weeks I finally got my glasses with the right prescription. They had lost my frames so it took awhile for someone to find them in someone's drawer. I was so mad about that that they ended up refunding my money. Terrible! I started calling every place I could find because my puppy drug my glasses in the yard. I needed to get seen right away in order to have my glasses ready quickly. I typically use Lenscrafters who has my glasses ready in a week. They no longer participate with my plan so I chose Stanton because they could see me that day. They have a virtual doctor perform your exam which is fine. The gentlemen (Alex) who greeted me was nice and took my insurance information in order to verify coverage of my two plans. By the time I was done with my exam, I had to wait on an associate to help place my order. A young man came over about 15 minutes later and started to insist that I get two pairs because one pair was free. I already had frames for one pair and I have a second prescription for the other pair. I needed one frame. He proceeded to tell me that most people buy one and get one free but if I did not want to take advantage of it, "that's fine do what you want". He then left to attend to another customer for a long duration. He returned saying he was ready now to help me. I already had the frames picked out when he first approached me but he decided to leave and help another customer after his dismissive and rude behavior. He then began to build a quote that took him forever and gave a price that was hundreds of dollars. I told him that I have insurance that is already on file, verified by Alex. He said he didn't know. I told him that no one wants to be out for long durations during COVID, and the amount of time it took him to build a quote, not taking into an account my insurance was a waste of time. He then asked me what features I wanted for the glasses. I told him all features for both glasses. He interrupted me and said, " I just want one at a time". We went back and forth a few times with him making rude comments and having a sharp tone with me. I finally, asked Alex to come over and help me instead of him. Alex asked him if he had finished both pairs. He told Alex that he had finished both pairs. Alex gave me quote for one pair and I asked if that was the total all together with both pairs. Alex stated that it was the total with both pairs. Later in the conversation, he discovered that both pairs were not invoiced by the previous rude associate. I spent about a half hour with him. Add 15 more minutes of him just walking away to help someone else when I had already given him the one frame I needed. 45 minutes later, he had not done a thing. I stopped in two weeks later because I still had not received a call that my glasses were ready. Someone nice gave me one pair. The pair that was not for computer work that my pup had damaged. I waited another week and stopped in again. Three weeks later, I picked up my second pair, smudges all over the frames. I read the date on the box for the date the glasses were ready. The second pair was ready 6 days ago. They never called me. The boxes they give you for frames are cheap plastic. I would never ever recommend this place for eye care needs. They have terrible customer service. Do not call customer service because they have no clue if your glasses are ready or not but this is the number on their website. Their customer service is non-existent. Terrible experience and I will tell everyone I know about it and recommend my original optical solutions vendor. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible!!!!!!! The prices are not terrific either. They charge a lot for the features you need, like antiglare etc.). They charge you $20.00 to install lenses for one pair. I paid $83.00 for one pair of lenses and then was charged $20.00 for using my new frames that I brought from home. I did not purchase any bifocal or specialty lens. SHAME! read more

I highly and strongly recommend instead of going to Stanton, which is highly publicized constantly on commercials, go to Walmart or other places that aren't as publicized, you will probably save money, but best of all this place, not just the one in Grossmont, it is company policy that if they are to make a refund your Cash purchase, they will not make that refund back to you for 30 days. It doesn't matter if you special request it, doesn't matter if you offer to pay for you know faster mailing, whatever, I believe for the sake of them being allowed to use your money for for doing stock trading probably they keep your money for as long as they probably legally can and they do not refund you for 30 days, they had $322 of mine which they failed to make the proper prescription for I offered to let them keep the money just redo the prescription they refused they said they had to refund me the money first and then redo the the whole procedure, nonsense!! read more

Extremely disappointing customer service. I went in on October 12th, and was told I could have my glasses same day. However, after I had already paid they said It would take 2 weeks because to get my glasses because "their lab" didn't have the right lenses in stock. What a joke!!!! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Tiffany, the Brand Manager. She demonstrated great customer service skills and professionalism. Luck was with me as well as I was able to get right in for an appointment. Dr. Vinh has great patient skills and professionalism. He was sure to explain the process of the exam and findings freely.
