Eye exam by the doctor is done over video, pretty cool considering pandemic and all. The employees I have encountered were kind and professional. I didn't feel any pressure to add on anything/buy anything more than what was needed. Would recommend if you need a new eyeglass prescription read more

Alex is the best. He got us the best price possible. He has very good customer service and very helpful.

Just a quick review...of what seems like a worthless "lense replacement warranty"I purchased two pairs of sunglasses last year from this location for approx $550 for both pairs of bifocals. First off they put the wrong script in them so took double the time to get them dispensed...almost 5 weeks total...now about a year later the hard coat has been peeling for a bit...would have gone in sooner but we actually observed the stay at hone order...so today I go in and of course now past the one year timeline due to covid...taking advantage of the 20% replacement fee is a joke here...$550 for 2 pairs total and now they want $139 to replace one set of lenses...that is over 20% of the original costtwo full pairs!!! Stay away as this "warranty" is worthless it looks!!! As an update...they did answer...though the results were less than favorable...still is a pretty worthless warranty and their pricing is misleading in my opinion. read more

They did an eye exam but could not get a 20 20 vision exam I was willing to pay for eye exam but the representative said I was rude but try to sell me eye glasses even though they would not work properly I recommend you go some where else the glasses they give with the 2 for 59 dollars are trash so they catch you with the upcharge and the discount don't apply read more

I thought it was a good experience... we needed glasses for our grandson quickly .... Extremely quick and they took care of it ... in and out in about an 1 1/2 with a new prescription and glasses. Best part he told me he's never seen as good as he's seeing read more

In retail you cannot always please everyone all the time. However a good manager certainly can! I had a small problem that was resolved at a drop of the hat by an empathetic manager by the name of Deana. She was kind understanding and had the ability to change my mood instantly. Thank you Stanton Optical. We look forward to years of great service. read more

I went to this store and they were very busy, crazy with so many people and all the staff stayed clam and cool and polite. I was very happy with the service, The Manager was great and ran a clean, organized store. I received my three pair of Glasses, wearing them right now as I write this review. very happy customer. I highly recommend this company and store. Mike read more

To be honest, I haven't updated my prescription in years but I was referred by my husband who had come by for new glasses. I was greeted immediately by the manager and got me settled for my appointment. Destiny was very a sweet kind person and had remembered helping my husband. She was very patient with me and very informative about each of the devices we would be using that day. What really blew my mind was the eye dr. WAS ON A SCREEN instructing me through the eye test. It really felt like I was living in the future! After wards Destiny was kind enough to help me pick out a pair of glasses to better fit my face and personality. It was a very simple and quick process and I am very happy with the service I received! 10/10 will be back! read more

Great deals, friendly service. In my case, I received my glasses the same day since they had my lens in stock. In their package deal, you can get a free eye glass and contacts exam within the next year. read more

I made an appt online for the same day. After looking, realized they didn't take my insurance so I called to cancel. Alex answered the phone and said it was no problem and that I need not worry about insurance as they have a deal $59 for exam and 2 glasses. Hesitant, I mentioned I have have progressives. "No poblem, $99 covers that" he said. So I decided to give it a try. I show up, go through the pre-exam, on to the room and what I thought was the Dr leaves the room, someone on a TV starts talking to me. No one mentioned this to me! The person sped through the different lenses, had to ask to repeat several steps, we finish. I go out to select me frames and after 15 minutes and 20 frames, I'm ready. Alex starts with a buy one get one. I mentioned the $99 2 pairs and exam. He comes back with you didn't pick the "Blue tags"... He continues on... when he mentioned $300 I was done. Paid the $46 for the exam and left. Deciptive pricing to get people in and stick it to them. Was not a nice experience. read more

AWESOME!! my husband and I are really happy with the great service we received. We were waiting for hidden fees but there were not any! Yolanda and staff were very patient, kind and helpful. We both needed bi-focals which were more. But that was OK. Still 2 pairs for only $99! Will be coming back again. read more

My Husband needed to get new glasses since his frames broke in half decided to try Stanton because of the huge promotion ad on their window, 2 frames for 59.00 . The front end associates were pleasant enough but not seeing an actual optometrist but a zoom like appointment on a tv screen was weird and he was leading how to answer if this was better or not. My husbands prescription was wrong and had to come back for a revaluation of the prescription because they were totally off and since we paid a lot of money for the two glasses a way more then 59.00 they should have been correct the first time. Even his lines less bifocals were not set up correctly for his Eyes. It's been a month since he got these frames now have to wait another 2 weeks for hopefully the correct prescription. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. Better to go to a private office and or one through your insurance company then a huge retail chain. Also as we came in for the adjustment appointment there was 6 other people in there for the same complaint because their glasses weren't correct. My husband said that was a huge red flag. If these lens are still incorrect we will demand our money back ! read more

Had a last minute appointment with Stanton before the holidays. Eye exam was fine, great selection of glasses. But what really stood out was cashier Shelan (according to my receipt): it was already 1 hour past their closing time, but she was so friendly, professional, dedicated and understanding, just truly amazing. Definitely coming back! read more

I was due for an eye exam and Stanton was one of my only options. The test was fine, pricing was ok. Three months later i have yet to receive the contact lenses that I ordered. The first time they only gave me one left eye, the second time they gave me two of the right eye... When it came to pick up my glasses i had to call several times to see if the were in. It took them about 4 weeks to get them and I had to call, they never called to notify me that they were in. My husband also went to get a pair of glasses and they called to tell him they were in, when he got there they were in fact, not there. I will never be going back to them. They are unprofessional, unorganized, and over all incompetent. Go to Lens Crafters, they may be more expensive but their customer service is superb compared to Satanton. read more

Stanton Optical in Escondido is a great place for contacts and glasses. Nick the brand manager there is very professional. We had a small issue with our contact lens order but they took care of it right away and took excellent care of us. First of all I really don't like giving bad reviews because everyone can have a bad day, but I have to tell you about Stanton Optical. #1. Don't expect to see a real Eye Doctor. That won't happen. They run you through some eye tests that anyone could do - I'm sorry but a high school kid could run those tests. After they run you through the tests you get to pick 2 pair for $79. There are frames all over the place BUT the frames for the $79 glasses are in a small area and are pathetic frames. Really. Then the guy "Brand Manager" was the title on his name tag tried to sell me over $800 dollars in prescription glasses. I was like what happened to the Dr? What happened to the $79? That was about a month ago and already one of the pairs that I got has broken. I couldn't believe it. I paid $79 for glasses that I could have gotten at the dollar store for $1. I'm sorry to rag on this place so much but truly - DON'T GO. read more

They advertise $59 for 2 pairs of glasses and an eye exam but it's just completely false advertising. I didn't find out that it was going to be 5x more expensive than I thought until after I had gone through the whole process. Never was it explained that the $59 and the eye exam was for a certain selection of frames- literally every wall of glasses has an ad in it repeating the $59 free eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses. The staff was very kind, but I felt like I got ripped off and up sold. I usually get my glasses on zenni optical.com and those glasses are actually better. I paid way more than I ever have before and I paid way more than I needed to. Especially considering my eye exam was done by some guy on the television. For almost $300, I expected to see a physical person for my eye exam. Lesson learned- I won't be going back although the staff was kind. read more

I was notified that my glasses were ready to be picked. But I had a busy work week so waited 3 days until the weekend comes to pick them up. I was excited and anticipated for 2 weeks just to found out that one of the lenses were chipped. I pay half with the promotion price to ordered. So they don't allowed me to take the good pair home unless I pay in full. This is really unfair to the customer. Why would I pay in full to take one pair of glasses home for their mistake?! They should have check the glasses' condition in those 3 days while they're sitting there, noticed the damage and reordered for me then. Now I have to for another 2 weeks a month in total to get my glasses. This is my first and last time being their customers. I'd rather pay more to go elsewhere. My advice is don't go wait your time and money at Stanton. read more

We placed the order. 2 weeks later we were told to pick up our 2 glasses we ordered. Drove from our house (about 20 miles) to Escondido and once we got there we were told only one pair had arrived (they should have informed us so we could pick both together). Then, 6 days later, we get an email saying the other pair had arrived. So a day after that we're getting ready to drive to Escondido again but decided to call to confirm. At that point we were told by their store manager (lady) the second pair was not there still. I told her we got an email saying they had them at the store. She couldn't really explain the confusion. We were told by customer service that they could take an additional 12 days. That's a total of almost one month of waiting. Never did they call us to follow up or give us an update. If it wasn't because I called they wouldn't have called us. Horrible place! Communication is bad. I asked for a discount but they said they couldn't because I had already purchased them. So I paid I advanced and this is what I get. Never again. The manager told me "if it makes you feel better, go ahead and write a review"... so disrespectful! Obviously she is not worried about her and the store's reputation. read more

Eye glasses have been around about 400 years.I do not understand how a professional eye wear company can screw things up so majestically. I went to pick up my glasses, after running the gauntlet of homeless begging for money.I was called,on the telephone and told that my glasses were there. When I got there,I was told only one pair was ready because the highly educated scientist was still fitting my lenses to the frame. The young man told me the glasses might even have to be sent back to the laboratory. After another call,a few days later,I was told my glasses were in the building, and I should pick them up.NOT SO!. The young woman couldn't find them and I finally had to tell her to look in the scientist's laboratory.By golly, they were there, but with a sign that said,DO NO TOUCH! I was then told that they would call me when the apt scientist was done with my complicated eyewear.Wow! I said I would see them on YELP! Still haven't received my eyewear, there must be severe complications. read more

I went there based on their advertised $59 including eye exam and two pairs of eyeglasses. What the ad didn't say was that the ad only included a small selection of frames and the frames did not include the prescription lenses (the "glass" in eyeglass). What a ridiculous rip off. I ended up paying $230 for what I thought would be $59 when I entered the store -- you are only told about the bait and switch after your exam. read more

Exemplary customer service. Walk-ins truly welcomes. Fast. Selection of glasses is awesome. So many great choices. Extremely good prices. Will take insurance and work with you if you don't have any. Everyone that works there is courteous and professional. Everyone treated the same- the clientele is diverse and I appreciate that- elderly, disabled (someone ran over to help with the door immediately). Not pushy- just try to understand what you want/need and get that for you. No up-sell. Took my husband in the day after I went. I was in and out in 2 hours including eye exam and purchase of several pairs of glasses (I needed prescription sunglasses in addition to glasses for a variety of needs for work, etc.) Very patient. Oh, and it would have taken quite a bit LESS time if I could decide on the glasses- there were so many that I liked, it was difficult to choose! read more

Wow, what can I say. A disappointing experience from start to finish. The staff at this location is terrible, especially the manager. I came by to pick up my son's glasses after they called to tell me they were ready. She completely ignored me when I walked in, no acknowledgement from anyone. I stood there for 15 minutes while she finished up with her customer. When she was done I thought she would come over to give me my glasses. Nope, she continued to ignore me and called over another customer. I asked if there was someone who could give me my son's glasses that I already paid for. She literally groaned at me in exasperation, and told me no they were too busy. I would have to keep waiting. This is after they called my son back in for a follow up appointment and when we came in, they said they didn't have us on their schedule in their computer, even though I had a confirmation email from them regarding our appointment. Overall, I will never recommend this place. Terrible customer service! read more

Horrible!! I got an exam, which was NOT performed by an eye doctor but by someone who was sitting in a cubicle who got irritated because I couldn't decide which looked better, 1 or 2, 2 or 3 etc..... only to be told a doctor would evaluate & "recommend".... got out only to be rushed through picking out frames only because there was only 1 person there who was "in training". Picked out everything shelling out almost $400 only to look at my papers stating the doctor recommended my eyes be dilated!! Called and spoke to someone who apologized and scheduled me an exam with a REAL eye doctor, who come to find out does not like the way Stanton Optical practices & had turned in their notice....GO FIGURE!! Come to find out the "prescription" I was given was wrong & the out going doctor gave me a great eye exam......now to wait almost 10 more days?? Cant file with the BBB because they are not affiliated with..... NEVER GO HERE TO STANTON!! NIW TO TRY AND GET MY $ BACK...... read more

I have never been treated as good as the Escondido location in my life! Talk about going above & beyond the call of customers service...let me tell y'all what an amazing experience I had with them! I went in for two new pair of glasses with lens, my experience was simple, easy, & fast! It took them about a week & 1/2 to have both pairs of glasses ready which I though was very reasonable...when I went in to pick them up, I noticed how thick the lens were on the first pair,(I have really bad stigmatism) I actually paid extra for a thinner lens hoping they weren't going to look so thick but I was wrong, they were so thick I just wanted to cry... I guess it was written all over my face because the manger had noticed and came up to asked me " is everything ok"so of course i told him how I felt about he Len being so thick and he said he knows exactly how I felt because he also has very bad stigmatize as well, which made me feel a little better...i think he could tell I was about to cry so he had asked me if he can see my glasses and then he actually offered me something additional that might help the lens look a little bit thinner then what it is now...actually it was two additional thing...But I had already spent around $340 for both pairs so I had asked him how much more tho... I think he could tell that I didn't have anymore money would it be for both and that's when he said "you know what, don't worry about it, I want you to have a good experience here and want you to feel good when you're wearing your glasses and if I can help you feel a little bit better, well then I did my job" I couldn't hold back my tears but they were tears of happiness and I will never never forget what he did for me...so if anyone looking for a place to get an eye exam, glasses, or contact this is the place to go because they truly care about their customers & will go above & beyond the call of providing the greatest customer service ever! I will always & forever only come here from now on! I hope my very long review help you guys! read more
