Didn't ID or introduce herself so I have no idea - I told her I was here for an eye exam - She took some pictures of my eyes and I waited in the lobby until a room was available. - Brought into a room for a virtual exam with a technician - Once exam concluded I was told to "wait over there" to be checked out - I was given a paper rx and told "you are good to go". I've never had glasses before and was not given any info as to what the exam results showed. There was no discussion of social or medical history. Just a virtual exam and "see ya later" - Worth mentioning, the computer in the exam room I was in was left open so I could see the other patient's information Absolute waste of a visit. I called them 2 weeks later to be told they are still working on them and that the store WILL CALL ME when they are ready for pick up. Today is June 10th. I have been dealing with Stanton Optical-Brookfield since 2018 and the first time was just ok but in 2020 their customer service is poor, quality of glasses is less than standard and a total waste of money. First of all, I'm not a fan of the 'virtual' eye exam. I guess I am used to a more personal experience when dealing with something as important as my eyes. The quality of the frames are 'trash' to say the least. I bought 2 pair of glasses in Jan 2020 (BOGO) and I have been back to them at least 3 times to have both pair repaired due to the frames cracking/breaking. The last time I was there at the end of May to pick up the 1st pair from breaking for the 3rd time, I didn't even bother taking my 2nd pair back to be repaired after breaking again for the 2nd time. Today my 1st pair has broken AGAIN for the 4th time!!!! I've spent over $500 in the past 5-6 month and still don't have a pair I can wear more than 30 days without breaking. Never again will they get a dime of mine! read more

My experience here was okay. Not bad, not fantastic, but okay. I picked up new eyewear and I have a new outlook on the world! I can read my speedometer again, my television seems like it's high resolution now and it's comfortable to read once more. I owe a lot of that to my eye exam (completed elsewhere) but a tip o' the hat to the Stanton Optical lab for a great job on my lenses. The day I selected new frames, the store was mildly crowded. My rep was taking care of two or three customers at one time and I'm not entirely sure I received the attention I needed in picking frames. Now that I've had them for several days, I'm not sure they are the correct size and worse, they were not properly fitted. I was told it would take about two weeks to receive my new eyewear, in fact, it was much faster than that, about 10 days. Real days, not business days, and I was very pleased with that part of the service. The day I picked up my new eyewear, I was well attended to, and the tech made several adjustments to make the frames fit better. (I need to go back and have another go at adjustments.) The tech indicated that perhaps the frames were, in fact, a bit on the small side, and I agree. That said, I'm getting used to them and my vision is so much clearer that, overall, I'm happy. Would I use Stanton Optical again? Yes, and knowing what I know now, I would be much more of a curmudgeon when picking out frames, and insist on a better fit. Would I recommend them? Yes, with some reservation. Forget the marketing deals in the advertising if you need something other than single vision lenses and boring frames. Multiple vision lenses will be more expensive, but if you already wear those, higher prices are no surprise to you. One more thing, this is not a great location. The building is on a small lot with limited parking. On top of it all, the building is shared with a Starbucks, putting even more strain on the limited parking lot. read more

I went here as I had relocated and I ran out of contacts so I needed to renew my scripts. Stanton was able to get me the earliest out of all the options in the area. Avoid Stanton. I need a new glasses with a new prescription, so I thought I would try Stanton optical in Brookfield. The woman who originally took care of me, and claimed to be the manager, only later I found out she was not a manager of anything, and got fired from the company. My original eye exam was virtual which I really didn't like but I thought I would give it a try anyway. When my glasses finally did come back they were not the right prescription whatsoever so I had to wait another several weeks before a doctor was physically there to give me an eye exam again. Marching out of there with a new prescription I had to wait another three weeks or so to get my new glasses. I took advantage of the two for one sale however, only one pair of glasses showed up. They could not find the other pair of glasses I ordered. I finally went in today to pick up my second pair of glasses with the correct prescription. Well, the prescription may have been correct however, the frames were not anything near to what I had ordered. After six trips over there I'm getting frustrated as you can imagine. So they asked me to pick out another frame so they could remake my glasses once again. There was nothing I really cared for so I asked about sunglasses instead. First I was told no, then another employee told me yes, they would make it right for me. However, they only had three pairs of glasses with a blue tag on them, none of which I cared for. I requested my money back for the second pair of glasses and of course they wanted to argue with me. I stuck to my guns and finally I'm going to receive a refund for my second pair of glasses. I heard every excuse from all of their errors from the computer not taking, what I wanted to do, to the bad customer service I had received before the woman was terminated. Either way the girls were friendly today and did everything they could to get a refund for me which I know I have to wait another three days for so that's why they got the second star on my review. I have to be honest and tell you I do not reccomend Stanton. I heard more than my share of excuses and apologies then I care to even talk about. 20 times today. The customer service is terrible. You get the run around when they mess up. There is no communication with delays on their end, you have to call. Found out my daughter who is 7, will now have to wait even longer for her glasses. I would have not know this if I had not called. The guy on the phone, who you could tell, reads from a paper of common answers to a question, transferred me directly to the store. This female was all over the place, couldn't tell me why they don't inform customers of delays. Shouldn't that be a practice? Terrible service. Large blonde lady was very disrespectful. She would not give us her name. I don't understand why the other staff did not intervene and stop her from berating customers. We came here to spend money on eye glasses, and met an individual so abrasive that she would turn away even the easiest sale. Same woman went on to get so upset she was reprimanded by the manager and called into his office where she proceeded to cry. Daughter said staff did not behave in a professional manner whatsoever. My daughter requested a copy of her eye exam four days ago. After trying to have her get another exam and buy contacts there they reluctantly said they would send it to her. She ended up stopping in person and was given a copy. It didn't have the distance between her pupils on it...something she will need to order glasses online. She asked for that and at first was told by the lady that she "wasn't even sure she new what that was if it wasn't on there." Then after looking she told my daughter they usually throw that away. It wasn't until she heard me tell my daughter that by law that is part of the prescription and they cannot throw that away and that they have to release it... she suddenly found the missing numbers. She jotted them down and reluctantly handed them over. We spent quite a bit of money at this store on several pairs of glasses and for them not to give us a complete copy of our prescription upon request is horrible. Never go to this store. read more

This place was great from start to finish. They do virtual exams but you can see the doctor if you would like. The virtual exams are reviewed three times tho and twice when the doc does them. But I had no trouble making my appt, getting in, and seeing the doc. My daughter and husband did virtual exams and are both seeing great. My daughter is quite picky and when nobody else needed help, the entire staff helped her pick out her glasses. My consultant took her time with me too and didn't let me leave until I was happy. Get the insurance tho because it seems expensive until you accidentally step on your glasses and they fix them no questions asked. You will love it there and don't let the virtual exam keep you away. It is better but if you want to see the doc, you just go to the location down the street read more

The worst eye glass buying experience of my life. Paid over $600 a month ago and still I don't have my glasses. Virtual eye exam was a joke. They gave me the wrong prescription. After 3 days of not being able to see my phone or a computer I gave up. The tech at Stanton told me I need to wear them for a week. When I asked to check the new prescription with my old glasses, they discovered the prescription had to be wrong. Had a eye exam with a "real" doctor and received a new prescription. The manager promised they would remake the glasses and I would have them in 7 to 10 days. I checked on delivery today (11 days and counting) maybe some time later next week they will ship. 5 weeks to get a pair of glasses is wrong! RUN from this place!!!!!!!!! read more

Stay away. How can you go wrong with a price like $59 for two pair of glasses plus a doctor's prescription? First of all, the "doctor" is not physically present for the examination. It is done remotely with a video and a machine -- and no one in the room to check on the patient. The result, in our case, was a very lengthy procedure and a prescription that is worthless. Easy. The glasses did not help my wife see better -- and when I contacted "customer service" they responded with delaying tactics. The test of a good business is that when a mistake is made, it is corrected promptly. We chose the low-cost option which limits you to about 20 frames. You pay $128 for lenses and an additional charge for frames. We had little time to choose, so went with the low-price and intended to buy something nicer later. Fortunately we only lost $59. When we got the glasses, they made my wife dizzy. They were worse than useless. So I contact customer service. They first gave an automated response "received and being reviewed." Three days later they wrote promising "we will give you an update within the next 24 to 48 business hours" After four days passed, I wrote again insisting on a refund. Two more days have passed with no response. I would advise people to stay away from Stanton. The method for prescribing appears to be unreliable (and you must pay $55 if you buy no glasses from Stanton), the choice of frames for the low price is extremely limited, and if there is a problem at all, you might expect to lose your money. If you went with nicer frames, that could be $200 or more. read more

It's going to be hard to compete with all the optical options out there, especially when you don't take customer service seriously. I purchased a frame only at Stanton with (no lenses). Had the frame for two weeks while I showed friends and family. I ultimately decided on a frame from another business and contacted their online customer service about returning (with refund going back onto my credit card). Wow, talk about being hardcore, they didn't even try to make me a happy customer. I suggest you check out Warby Parker. They really get it. And just for the record, I didn't end up buying there either. I buy glasses at least once a year, guess who I'll again...NOT Stanton. read more

Do not go here! They do not have actual doctors on site. You are merely skyped with some robo-doctor. My prescription was way off! There is no way my sight has improved to better than it was 10 years ago. When I questioned them they told me, 'if you see 10 different doctors, you will get 10 different results'. I have no complaints about this place! I had to go here on two different days for my appointment and then another day for my daughters appointment. All the staff was polite to me and my girls. Changing the channel on the tv to something appropriate for the girls. A woman helped me both days and she was awesome! Very nice and patient. Gave me advice on which glasses I should get. Jake was so helpful when I was finishing up paying for my glasses. Answering my questions, not laughing at my questions and concerns, and helping out my daughter with her glasses. Another gentleman helped with my daughter (David or Daniel) and he was polite and very helpful. I was not in the store longer then and hour and a half. read more

Call me crazy but when I go in for an exam, I expect an actual Dr to be physically present. This was such a joke, I'm still thinking I was in an episode of The Twilight Zone. You get an "exam" if you want to call it that by some individual via TV. They aren't even optometrists. The audio kept cutting out and all they ask "is 1 better, or 2" while they flip lenses from wherever they are. Then they send you out to look for glasses. I was told my eyes had gotten much worse in the last year. They gave me the new prescription to try on. It seemed no different then my old one. Then they wanted to sell me 3 pairs. As an Ophthalmologist told me, this place is in the business of selling glasses. If you want a decent exam with the right prescription, I suggest going somewhere else, where its much more personable and done right. First off I want to say the customer service when I was in the store was great. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful throughout my visit but that was the extent if that. Unfortunately, when I woke up the next day after my visit I had eye infections (pink eye!) in both of my eyes. I had never had it before in my life and was pretty upset so I called the location I went to on Capitol and 124th to tell them about it. I was as nice as I could be about it, letting them know I woke up with this issue the day after I was there but the woman I was talking to immediately got defensive with me saying there is no way I could have gotten it there because they clean everything with alcohol. I'm sure they do, but I was there for about 3 hours and didn't see one person throughout that time clean any of the lenses people try on and I know while I was there I tried on quite a few and also saw others trying them on. I was extremely taken aback by her reaction and explained I have never had it before and it is kind of suspect that I wake up with eye infections the day after I was at an optical center and she went quite. I obviously went to the doctor for this issue and explained what happened to her and she too is certain I contracted these infections from trying their glasses on. All i'm saying is be careful when trying their glasses on/go some where else and Stanton, please teach your employees about holding themselves accountable and trying to work with customers when issues like this arise because this was just insanely unacceptable. I now have to pay a large doctor bill after just having to buy expensive glasses and am a broke college student who just got laid off so this really has been a blow. Do better Stanton!! read more
