The quality of the exam and the selection of the frames are the best I have found in the MKE area. My only reservation to recommend Be Spectacled is how difficult they make it to select lenses once you have picked out some frames. An associate literally read aloud my options off their computer monitor, without clarifying the costs or features. When I selected the basic lenses, they said I didn't want those (then why even offer them?). I never really understood what I was getting or paying. I didn't even see an itemized receipt until I picked up my glasses ($275 for lenses, oof). It all felt rushed, opaque and like I was getting up-sold at a car dealership. If they would be more clear and transparent about lense options and costs (maybe put it all on a flyer you can hand to the customer), this place would be an easy five-star review.

And, well, the pandemic lockdowns hit and the appointment got canceled. Then, you know, worldwide uncertainty and next thing you know it's 2021 and I've still not had my eyes checked. I'm happy to say that changed recently. I made my appointment, had my eyes checked, and got my prescription. They have a nice selection of glasses to choose from and are super helpful in finding your pair. "What style are you thinking of trying?" she asked "Bold frames!" I exclaimed with confidence apropos of nothing. And, bold frames I got. And, now, I can see the world. Shining. Shimmering. Splendid. Get to it!

Every step was explained fully, and my questions were answered to my complete understanding and satisfaction. The staff leading up to my meeting with Dr. Murphy were all efficient and friendly. I moved through the process easily. During my consultation with Dr. Murphy, I was fully informed about the tests being done, the results as he saw them, and also my options for further treatment. I felt heard and respected. Dr. Murphy was highly recommended to me by my dermatologist and he is also on the Top 100 Doctors of Milwaukee, so my confidence was good. During the appointment, I was able to schedule the surgery, as well as the two follow-up appointments needed. I was given paperwork with all FAQs I could need, as well as the financial expectations. I left after a very short amount of time and with all the information I would need. I have now had my surgery and that also went incredibly well. I will review this on the Envision review as that is where the procedure was done. I will, however, return to Milwaukee Eye Care for my followup appointments and I have no reason to believe I will be less satisfied afterward.

We ended up going to urgent care which is down the hall from his doctor's office. urgent care was unable to help him as they didn't have an ophthalmologist on staff and told us to go to the emergency room, 15 miles away. After urgent care and before the emergency room, we walked over to the Milwaukee Eye Care Office to see if there was anything they could do and was told simply "sorry go to the emergency room". This facility appears to fine when providing care if it's scheduled well ahead of time but if you need them in an urgent situation they will have zero compassion. I will be getting him a new doctor that can provide care when it's needed not only weeks in advance. We could have waited as we have been in the hospital's emergency waiting room for several hours now without being seen.
