If I could give a negative experience rating I would. I visited for an eye exam and made the…read moremistake of TRYING to get a new pair of glasses. Staff is very rude making for unpleasant interactions. I made the mistake of paying $305 up front for a pair reading glasses which I never received. After they told me the glasses broke in the lab and they would have to reorder, I made the drive in to receive the replacement glasses. They broke as the front office person attempted to put them on my face. I let her know that I don't want them if they are that fragile to break both in the lab and a second pair in their office. Response was that it was too bad and that I was stuck with this choice. She also tried to blame the breakage in the lab on my insurance which really is unrelated to the lab they use. Final straw was going back yet again, when they put a totally different (and uncomfortable) frame on my face. I told them this was not the pair I had ordered and that they were uncomfortable. They had no records of what I had selected in my initial order and were totally clueless. At that point I gave up but disputed the $305 charge which somehow went through in spite of my dispute. I would not go to this "practice" for anything and certainly not a pair of inferior glasses from their incompetent optical "department". Nothing but aggravation will result. I am not one to leave negative reviews but feel compelled to do so as a public service. They must have had family and friends leave some more favorable reviews - not sure how anyone could rate them higher than 1 star!

I cried throughout my appointment because of their rudeness. It never hurts to just be nice or barely kind isn't a bad option either when providing a service. My appointment was very short and I'm not confident that my prescription is correct. The contacts don't fit well but I didn't dare say anything because I just wanted to leave that horrible place and will most likely go elsewhere for another opinion once I can scrape the money together. I've already cancelled my partners appointment with them. If you have a higher prescription and want to be treated as a human go elsewhere. If you just want a good experience go elsewhere.

Since it was the end of the year I had to get my exam in to take advantage before the next year, but then with my plan I do not think I would have saved too much so I held off on the glasses until later. Their availability is very good, there is another store in 'Tosa which was booked for weeks, I don't understand that. Later on, I placed an order for some nice glasses. They do have a wide variety and cost points which is great. I went back for an adjustment as my current lenses were flatter and the new ones were more curved. I had a minor fishbowl effect that was fixed on the first try, and also the edges of the lenses weren't perfect and she approved getting them changed out. Very happy with the final result. The timing was ironic as I placed the order for these, and I snapped the frame of my current glasses. The business deserves 5 stars. They are all nice, helpful, and professional.

When they couldn't repair, they found a different dealer in the area who carried the broken frames and helped get directions to the second store. I'd recently been diagnosed as having diabetes and it was important that I get a quick appointment to check for neuropathy and other diabetes related issues. I got my appointment quickly, within 2 weeks of calling, and was impressed from the get go. The office was clean and very interestingly designed... kind of a circle that you follow through the different stages of your examination. Each technician was very knowledgeable, friendly and took comprehensive notes about my visit. It was suggested that I get checked every year, just to make sure everything is still normal. This week was my third visit and, thankfully, all systems were a go!! The doctor did give me a new prescription but the changes were so minimal I don't need to fill it unless I want a new style frame. Despite the fact that the office was introducing a new computer system to its employees, there were no problems but the prelude to seeing the eye doctor took a bit longer than it normally would have. I had no problem with my insurance but be certain you have the ID card on your person. I noticed there doesn't seem to be a way for them to bypass that requirement. I like Eye Care Specialists but, and I can't speak for everyone, I'm pleased with the attention they gave me.

He is frankly awesome as an eye doctor and I can't recommend him highly enough!!! Since they double book, you should anticipate the possibility of a delay before being seen, but the wait is worth it in my experience. I am still seeing and was "blind" in one eye when I came in.
