However, the lab they use to put in the prescription lenses is terrible. I had a very special, unique frame that I only wanted lenses for. This lab was careless and broke my frames! I did not find out about this until two weeks after my eye appointment. So I was forced to buy new frames. I did get the new lenses free and a reduced price on the frames due to the lab's error. However another two weeks have passed and I still do not have my new glasses (after a "rush" was put on it) and I am still stuck wearing my computer glasses. I am not sure if I will be going back there.

I might try to hit up an office other than this one though - the staff are nice and professional here but not the most "with it". I had ordered contacts and no one called me when they came in - a few weeks passed and I thought "hmm... shouldn't those be in?" Sure enough they were sitting there. Not a huge deal, but worth knowing. At the end of the day what really counts is that you're getting a quality medical provider, and in that respect OA is top notch.

Paid my $35 copay only to be seen by an Optomotrist. My wife specifically asked for an Opthamologist and explained what was going on when she made the appt. The Optomotrist told me it was not a stye but rather a chilazion (which is a stye away from the eyelash) but I should come back to see an Opthomologist. She also told me to stop the stye drops and warm compresses as they do no good with chilazions. They have one that specializes in eyelid issues. Made appt to come back on Jan 7th as he was off through the holidays. Went back on Jan 7, paid my copay again, that is now $50 as of the 1st. He called it a stye. When I told him what I was told by his office in Dec he said they are the same thing. Asked if I was doind warm compresses, told him his office told me to stop. He said he is a big believer in warm compresses and should be doing that. Told him it has been 2 months now, he said he could drain it, but that is difficult and painful. He also said he could inject it with some meds that might help, but they don't have any right now. The third option is warm compresses. I asked what he recommended and he said they are all about 50 % effective so it really doesn't matter. Needless to say, I left without any real conclusions. Never go back there again!!!

But then I get a letter in the mail from my healthcare provider and they denied the claim!!! Why? Now I asked right away "what will my insurance cover" and she told me "it looks like they will pay for you frames only". Ok fine. So I paid almost $400 for my glasses. But then I get the letter and they charge my healthcare provider for my Progressive Lenses, some other lenses, anti reflective coating AND the frames!! And now they say I have to pay for all of this, for a total of $949!! There is NO WAY I am paying for these glasses!! I am beyond mad at this point and just want to return these glasses! And I think this is a good case a fraud!

The quality of the exam and the selection of the frames are the best I have found in the MKE area. My only reservation to recommend Be Spectacled is how difficult they make it to select lenses once you have picked out some frames. An associate literally read aloud my options off their computer monitor, without clarifying the costs or features. When I selected the basic lenses, they said I didn't want those (then why even offer them?). I never really understood what I was getting or paying. I didn't even see an itemized receipt until I picked up my glasses ($275 for lenses, oof). It all felt rushed, opaque and like I was getting up-sold at a car dealership. If they would be more clear and transparent about lense options and costs (maybe put it all on a flyer you can hand to the customer), this place would be an easy five-star review.

I'm happy to say that changed recently. I made my appointment, had my eyes checked, and got my prescription. They have a nice selection of glasses to choose from and are super helpful in finding your pair. "What style are you thinking of trying?" she asked "Bold frames!"
