My only reservation to recommend Be Spectacled is how difficult they make it to select lenses once you have picked out some frames. An associate literally read aloud my options off their computer monitor, without clarifying the costs or features. When I selected the basic lenses, they said I didn't want those (then why even offer them?). I never really understood what I was getting or paying. I didn't even see an itemized receipt until I picked up my glasses ($275 for lenses, oof). It all felt rushed, opaque and like I was getting up-sold at a car dealership. If they would be more clear and transparent about lense options and costs (maybe put it all on a flyer you can hand to the customer), this place would be an easy five-star review.

I'm happy to say that changed recently. I made my appointment, had my eyes checked, and got my prescription. They have a nice selection of glasses to choose from and are super helpful in finding your pair. "What style are you thinking of trying?" she asked "Bold frames!" However, the lab they use to put in the prescription lenses is terrible. I had a very special, unique frame that I only wanted lenses for. This lab was careless and broke my frames! I did not find out about this until two weeks after my eye appointment. So I was forced to buy new frames. I did get the new lenses free and a reduced price on the frames due to the lab's error. However another two weeks have passed and I still do not have my new glasses (after a "rush" was put on it) and I am still stuck wearing my computer glasses. I don't know what the bad reviews were about? I had a great experience here. Appointments were scheduled pretty quick; usually within the week. Staff was super friendly, helpful, and efficient. The optometrist gave me more advice and attention than any other one that I've seen, period. She really knew about eye health and cared about finding the right prescription and fit for me. I'm a photographer, so I spend 90% of my waking hours looking through a tiny viewfinder and/or at a computer screen, so my vision absolutely needs to be accurate. Regarding contacts- I've got astigmatism, so my contacts are always a royal pain in the butt to find the right brand and size. They actually carry astigmatism lens trials and had mine in stock so I didn't have to wait a week for them to be ordered! This has never happened in my whole contact-lens wearing career. Staff is very rude making for unpleasant interactions. I made the mistake of paying $305 up front for a pair reading glasses which I never received. After they told me the glasses broke in the lab and they would have to reorder, I made the drive in to receive the replacement glasses. They broke as the front office person attempted to put them on my face. I let her know that I don't want them if they are that fragile to break both in the lab and a second pair in their office. Response was that it was too bad and that I was stuck with this choice. She also tried to blame the breakage in the lab on my insurance which really is unrelated to the lab they use. Final straw was going back yet again, when they put a totally different (and uncomfortable) frame on my face. I told them this was not the pair I had ordered and that they were uncomfortable. They had no records of what I had selected in my initial order and were totally clueless. At that point I gave up but disputed the $305 charge which somehow went through in spite of my dispute. I would not go to this "practice" for anything and certainly not a pair of inferior glasses from their incompetent optical "department". Nothing but aggravation will result. I am not one to leave negative reviews but feel compelled to do so as a public service. They must have had family and friends leave some more favorable reviews - not sure how anyone could rate them higher than 1 star!

They do have a wide variety and cost points which is great. I went back for an adjustment as my current lenses were flatter and the new ones were more curved. I had a minor fishbowl effect that was fixed on the first try, and also the edges of the lenses weren't perfect and she approved getting them changed out. Very happy with the final result. The timing was ironic as I placed the order for these, and I snapped the frame of my current glasses. The business deserves 5 stars. They are all nice, helpful, and professional.

While it is a lovely store with a wide selection of stylish frames, the people who work there couldn't be nicer and down-to-earth. I was surprised that pricing of the frames are similar to many chain stores. So many styles, but luckily I had a great navigator to help find the perfect frame for me!
