This is the second time I've…read moresent a child to a dentist to be told he has multiple cavities that need filling, only to get a second opinion to find out that they absolutely do not need filling yet, and that they can be treated with good brushing and some floride rinse, and, hopefully, will never need filling. This time, sadly, I was too late. I allowed one filling to be taken care of before I got the second opinion. The dentist who looked at the original xrays specifically pointed out that the 3 "cavities" diagnosed at Shorewood Family Dentistry were in fact still in the initial phase of decay, and not through the enamel yet. Dentists, like all many of us I guess, have to pay their mortgages and student loans. But there is no excuse! I also found it not only odd, but possibly suspicious, that the dentist himself chose to clean this child's teeth instead of having the hygienist do it. I'd never heard of that happening before.

I then updated it in January, as I feel it's completely dishonest to write a review and not share both good and bad. There seemed to be a bit of confusion as to who was involved in writing it. It is written solely by me, and is based on my experience dealing with this facility. I am reposting with this clarification. My mom completed a stay at this facility in September 2025. There was nothing but positive things we can say about the employees and the rehabilitation hospital itself. Literally everyone we dealt with, from the front receptionist to security, to nurses, therapists, etc. were fantastic. A nurse named Whittany was especially helpful in speaking with the doctor about a concern, and calling me to follow up. Edit to review in January 2026 My mom had ended up back in the hospital, and needed rehab. She was accepted again at the Milwaukee Rehab Hospital, I was contacted by them, and everything was all set. A couple days later the hospital social worker told me the rehab place had withdrawn the spot, and gave no explanation. I never heard a word from the rehab hospital. I should add in here I left a VM for the contact person I had dealt with, letting her know how disappointed I was in the handling of this. I believe she was out of the office, but I never received any call once she returned, or follow up from anyone else. I left that out of the first review because I was simply trying to explain the lack of communication without going into detail. Thankfully my mom went elsewhere and received excellent care, but this completely changed my view of this facility. I hope the people in charge at any rehab place put themselves in the families' place and understand what it's like to go from placement to denial with no contact and no explanation. It would definitely change the impact made if information was given. If anyone from the Rehab Hospital wishes to contact me, my number is on file.

I've never done acupuncture and acupressure until now since…read moreI was curious if it would work for my tennis elbow that's been ongoing for two months and some tightness in my upper neck and back that's somewhat connected to my elbow. I noticed the tightness on my neck went away. I have to go back for a few more appointments based on the manager's explanation that it may take a few appointments to have the elbow pain progress. So far I feel improvement and looking forward To the next one. It's less than a week apart. I was also given some dietary supplement for joint health and tiger balm to hopefully help alleviate the pain eventually.

(At regular or western doctor visits through the decades, there was nothing to be done other than my being assigned 3 physical therapy appointments along with Ibuprofen at each incident, yielding MONTHS of pain and little help...) Within several MINUTES with Dr. Zhou, WITH THE PLACEMENT OF A SINGLE NEEDLE, he dropped my shoulder pain levels from 10+ to a 1 or 2, and told me what I suffered from was 'frozen shoulder'!! It was nothing short of amazing! I have never been able to get a diagnosis on this, my pain dropped immediately, and he knew EXACTLY what the problem was. I'm way out of balance as I favor and use my right arm for everything, and seldom use my left arm and shoulder. I have never done activities like golf because that I am terrified of re-igniting this painful injury. I have since continued Dr. Zhou's very effective treatments, techniques, and advice to roll back the decades-long list of damage to my shoulder muscles and tendons - to help get my strength back, and help restore proper shoulder functioning. I feel like him and his sessions are truly healing me. Dr. Zhou shows compassion and concern, and it feels like he is 'my' doctor. Dr. Zhou is also very warm and funny. This review allows me to give him up to 5 stars, but I give him 100 stars!! His office staff and massage people are also super nice, friendly, and clearly exceptionally trained. Everyone who needs medical help should consider Dr. Zhou!
