They are never on time, not even close. On the day of my appointment I waited over 2 hours. Also, they don't bother to tell you in advance that they are extremely behind schedule so you're stuck. It was an extremely impersonal experience. I don't even know what the doctor who did the procedure even looks like. You're truly just a number to them and considering that it's a procedure with your eyes I would've hoped to have had a better experience. Overall, it's a less than satisfactory establishment and if I were to have a redo I would've chosen another place to have LASIK. read more

I cannot even believe I went through this procedure! I am STILL in shock! I have heard from many people that Lasik was definitely worth the "hype" and I could not agree with them more! Being able to wake up and not depend on glasses or contacts is just life changing! I ended up getting 20/15 vision too!! I decided on a whim to go in for a consultation August 27th. I did not expect to have my surgery the next day! The staff at LasikPlus was so sweet and welcoming from my first meet to my follow up. They convinced me to go for it! I'm glad I was able to get in the next day so I wouldn't chicken out and change my mind! They calmed my nerves and helped with my anxiety. Kate was the first person I met with, she measured my eyes, dilated them, and looked to see if I was eligible for the procedure. She answered my questions and concerns and explained what it would be like and what to expect. I had a couple more questions to ask the next day before my procedure and both doctors took their time and answered them thoroughly. I did not feel like I was being rushed by them or pressured. The laser machine I had was from 2020, so that was comforting to know they used new technology on your eyes! It helped that a couple of the ladies got the procedure done themselves, so they were able to speak from experience. Of course, they all say that it would be so quick and naturally my anxiety didn't let me believe that ha-ha, but it truly was a really quick procedure!! Ally and Lisa were so nice too!! They held my hand throughout the procedure and Dr. Allen helped ease my anxiety from the moment I met him. He talked to me during the whole procedure which helped my mind focus on that instead of my anxiety. I liked that he counted down for each eye, explained what he was doing, and how long I had left of the procedure. I made an appointment for a week after my surgery and the new doctor I met with was just as friendly and knowledgeable. I am not good with pain, and I am thankful this procedure was painless. I did feel a little more pressure when they were using the stint to hold open my right eye, but it was not painful. They first prep you by checking your eyes and then add numbing drops. The doctor then checks to make sure that is set, and you are directed to one machine that preps your eyes to open the flap of your cornea. Once that is complete the staff helps assist you to another machine where the actual laser does its magic! Once that is complete the doctor uses this cute squeegee to clean your eyes and close your flap. He then adds a few drops (that kind of stung) and then you're on your way! You receive a cute "goodie" bag filled with all the drops you'll need (I ran out, Target sells the same brand they give you), antibiotics, goggles, and instructions on how to take care of your new eyes! Instructions were well written and answered any questions you may have! They tell you to take a nap (if you cannot that is okay) but at least close your eyes for 2-5 hours following your procedure. I finally fell as asleep and when I woke up, I was able to open my eyes and see clearer. When you leave the procedure you initially can see but it is hazy, sort of like you are under water. Eventually that clears up and you can see perfectly! If you are hesitant on getting this done, I would say just go for it!! Don't be scared! It is such a surreal, overwhelming (due to my anxiety), and amazing experience all in one! Thanks, LasikPlus for making my experience great and helping me not be dependent on glasses and contacts!! Please do your research and don't believe the " hype" I've been dealing with chronic dry eyes since 2019. No underlying issues. Never had dry eyes prior to Lasik. They tell you on average you could experience dry eyes 3 months post lasik , but it's been 2yrs. After countless visits and them basically " blowing "me off , I went to see a specialist. I had lasik done two years ago ended up with bad double vision and back in glasses. 6 months later they did PRK and it was just as bad with blurry vision for months. Went to St Lukes today for a test for my wife. I dropped her off at the main entrance, because she has extremely bad knees, while I went to park the car. My wife sat down on a chair near the reception desk knowing I would look for her there. while she was sitting there, she watched a woman, Angelica treat an elderly person very unprofessionally. Angelica then turned to my wife and said, you can't sit in that chair, it's for staff. By the way, the chair was not marked and just sitting in the open. At that point, my wife told her she didn't have to be a bitch about it and moved. Angelica then called security who approached my wife wanting to know what was going on. When I say I have had glasses since the first grade and absolutely him shined a life without them, I would be telling the truth. Since the minute I walked into LasikPlus they welcomed me with open arms, came in for a consumption on a Monday morning, and was out and scheduled for the procedure that following Friday! I was nervous, scared, everything in between! But still decided to go forward, I thought to myself, 10-15 second per eye? That's a deal! They talk to you the whole procedure, give you A teddy bear, and will even hold your hand! I didn't get a follow up call before or after, but that same Monday 4 hours later I did! Terrible customer service. I didn't catch the lady with red hair, glasses and freckles name, but she was rude and very snarky. Unfortunately I fear she came off as racist in the way she treated me. They have no concern for their patients and she didn't take care of me as a customer properly for my appointment and turned me away. LasikPlus is very very professional. Dr. Allen performed by surgery, and was very calm, soothing, and reassuring throughout. The entire procedure might be a couple of minutes, but it definitely felt like a very long time, and Dr. Allen certainly helped to alleviate the fear during the procedure. He explained every step of the way what he was doing, and what it would feel like. LasikPlus did very well in explaining my options pre-op, no upselling or strongarming. The post-op visits were very informative, and I always felt like I was in good hands. Dr. Allen was not the follow up doctor, and I forget what that doctor's name was, but he was great too. I always felt that my recovery was progressive and well monitored. I would certainly recommend them. I underwent PRK as I had thinner corneas than most, and the first three days were the most painful. I had a lot of sensitivity to light, and it took me at least 10 days or so before I was able to confidently walk around with ok vision. It was at least a month before I felt like my vision was approaching normal. It has been about 6 months now, and my vision has been great. I have been wearing glasses since I was 6, and this is definitely a worthwhile investment. read more

Had my eyes done in 2001 and have been very happy with it. The only gripe I have to say is that right before the procedure they tell you your closer vision may be worse after getting the further vision corrected. So minutes before the procedure they ask if you want mono vision where they don't correct as much so the closer vision is not as bad. I choose not to do that and now I need to wear reading glasses. I didn't like the fact that they popped that question in such a last minute timely manner which didn't give me much time to decide such an important decision. read more

I had the surgery years ago and am still disappointed they didn't disclose in advance that I would need reading glasses after the procedure, which I didn't need before the procedure. When I discussed this concern with them, they blew it off saying you were going to need them at some point anyway, so at least you can see farther now. They completely discounted the fact that I should have been able to make that decision for myself, because I would have waited longer. I am still unhappy with their flip response and my need to wear glasses when I preferred contacts. Shame on you for not disclosing this very critical change. I don't even know where to start, I have so many wonderful things to say! I am so grateful for how friendly and knowledgeable the staff are at the Brookfield location. From the girls who assisted us at the front desk (I feel bad I cannot remember their names), to the assistant, Gail, Dr. Drew and Dr. Allen; they were all absolutely amazing! I'm a pretty anxious person as it is, but every single one of the staff members were so friendly and so patient with me while I asked my 100 questions, they really put me at ease. I only needed one of my eyes done, and it was a total breeze. Even better than I had expected! These people are very kind, and are willing to answer every single one of your questions so you can make the best possible decision for yourself. I will forever recommend Lasix plus in Brookfield, Wisconsin! The facility was easy to find & very, very clean. In regards to the procedure itself, it was VERY fast. I have anxiety about almost everything, but this went by so fast that I hardly had any time to get anxious. It was all 100% painless. Once it all begins, your vision is a little blurry, but again, it's very quick & painless. Once the procedure is complete you may have some "bruising" on the eye around your cornea, which are actually broken blood vessels. This will go away within a few weeks. The "bruising" is usually above the cornea, under the eyelid, so it isn't very visible. All in all, I highly recommend this facility & this procedure! read more

I completely understand that having the LASIK procedure comes with reservations... It took me years to decide to even get a consultation! My co-worker suggested I check out LASIK plus and Dr Allen for my procedure. It was the best thing a friend could recommend!! If I could give this place more stars, I would. I was a nervous wreck over this procedure, and everyone at the Brookfield location took the time to calm me, reassure me of all my worries, and answer all my questions. They were amazing. They are so thorough with explaining every step before, during, and after the procedure. Shannon is amazing, she sat with me the day of my consultation and the day of my procedure and chatted with me to calm my nerves, was very personable (the whole staff is SO personable) and so sweet! I saw Dr. Makela both the day of my consult and right before my procedure as well, and he answered all the questions I had, as well as talked to me about my eyesight and what to expect with the procedure. Stacy & Laura were with me during the procedure, and were so great about reminding me to breath and telling me how many seconds until each step was over. I was even given a stuffed animal to hold onto! Dr. Allen is the kindest doctor I have ever met. He was really calm and honest with me, had me laughing which really helped me relax, he even called me later in the evening to check up on me. Seriously, I was told after the procedure I would wish that I had gotten it done sooner, and they were right. It was so quick, so painless, and although you have initial blurriness/fogginess & sensitivity to light the first couple of hours after, it lifts (especially if you take a nap!) and I was on my computer online Black Friday shopping that same night! Today I am going in for my post op follow up and my eyes feel FANTASTIC. There is some redness that I was told about before the procedure was normal, but besides that they feel a little dry (the drops really do help) but nothing worth worrying about or really dwelling on. The staff at LasikPlus in Brookfield and Dr. Allen are great. I had my procedure done about 6 months ago. After the initial consultation they were very quick to schedule the procedure, about only a week later. They are normally done on Fridays so you'll want to make sure you take the day off and have the weekend to rest. The first week post-op is a constant bombardment of eyedrops, so be sure to schedule it during an opportune time. They say it takes 3-6 months for your eyes to fully adjust. My next day follow up measured at 20/15 vision. However, while daytime vision is great, nighttime lights are still hazy six months in, which is mostly a pain for nighttime driving. I think it has gradually improved over time, but probably won't ever be 100% back to normal. The biggest culprit for me are blue lights, which are a bit hazier on the microwave/stove/car as well even in the daytime. But the upside of not having to deal with contacts or glasses after 20 years of doing so, I would say is well worth it. Pricing Levels: I was only given pricing information after the initial eye check, in the tiny little exam room, and then it was done verbally which I found to be a little odd/unprofessional. I personally qualified for both traditional and more "personalized" laser, with three pricing options given to me with different guarantees (1 year, 2 year, and lifetime). The lifetime was 2.5X the price of the first option. I had a hard time really deciding which one to go with, and Dr. Allen ultimately assured me I would do well on all three lasers and they wouldn't have suggested the traditional laser if I hadn't been a good candidate. While they say most people opt for the lifetime guarantee, the price difference was too much for me to swallow so I ended up going with the first option. Payment: The biggest nuisance with the process for me has been in terms of payment. While they do accept HSA, and getting financing is very quick and easy, what I wasn't aware of is that paying the company that does the financing (CareCredit) back through monthly installments makes it very difficult to do with an HSA account. They only accept payments through a checking account online, and when you call customer service they won't let you through to a representative until you agree to be charged a $10 processing fee. Every time I've been able to have that fee waived, but it's been a HUGE pain to deal with. Ultimately knocking off one star due to not really having enough pricing/payment information up front, but the service itself was very good and I would recommend Dr. Allen to anyone. I know two other people who had him perform their surgery and they are happy as well. If you are hesitant due to nerves, Dr. Allen does a very nice job making you feel as comfortable as possible (the small dose of valium helps too!) so don't let that get in your way. read more

I finally took the leap and had LASIK eye surgery on 3/27/14. The staff were all very professional but also very personable. It was not purely business conversation which made me feel like it wasn't "scripted" conversation. They all had smiles and great personalities to go along with it. Everyone introduced themselves and how they were going to help me. I was given updates while waiting and knew everything that was going to happen. I felt very prepared and educated for the upcoming procedure and post op expectations and was even was given an opportunity to see a few procedures before mine if I wanted to. I knew just what to expect, especially because I had 2 sweet staff members standing at my side explaining everything as I was watching a procedure before mine. There were snacks and beverages for my guest as he waited. I even received a follow up phone call from the surgeon, Dr. Allen the night of my procedure to make sure I was feeling well and knew what to expect. When I went for my consult I even told the person assisting me that I had already been through the process. I had LASIK eye surgery on 10/4/12 with Dr. Ronald Allen. He was probably the nicest doctor I've ever met. He was very patient and explained everything step by step that would be happening during my procedure. We got started on my procedure with a teddy bear he gave me to hold.
