I will say they are very thorough. The women who helped pick the glasses out is very disrespectful and rude. And forget about your Hipa rights. She will embarrass you if you are on Medicaid. I am physically disabled and she shamed me immediately. First, her desk was loaded with paperwork, and I told her the insurance I had she loudly stated, "Oh wait, what type, Let me go see " Everyone in the waiting room heard and what a spectical she made. She then proceeded to take out 2 boxes of glasses and said, " What are you looking for?" I said,"Excuse me, I don't know what you mean." she replied," Metal or plastic?" I am 43 yrs old. I have been wearing glasses since first grade, and I have never been asked questions like this. I then asked if they have a catalog to look at, and she literally threw it on the desk on top of the cases of glasses and said you could look, but it's black and white. WOW. There is more, but you get the gist, so beware. It's unprofessional and just plain rude!! The optometrist shamed my anxiety, I told her she shouldn't treat people like that if they have a fear, you shouldn't shame them, she is young but very good at her job l, just lacks life experience. I have a tumor on my optical nerve, and I need to do a field of vision test, I have anxiety over it she wanted specifics and quickly told me I was being silly. Which is unwise to do for obvious reasons. You need thick skin if you go to this clinic. read more

Best front desk service from check in to waiting to being taken for one's appointment. Dr. Detsch recently arrived from PA and is very welcoming. Her care, concern and thorough discussion along with recommendations is the best I have ever experienced. She is a great provider for eye care and a welcome addition to the staff. Recently I experienced floaters aka black dots, her exam and explanation on causes and recommendations was easy to understand and follow. Excellent customer service, relating effectively and in common terms makes for a great doctor in my opinion. Always willing to answer any questions and be available by phone. read more

Opthalmology Associates has several office locations on the south side - New Berlin, Franklin, Milwaukee, etc. I visited the Cudahy office because they had the best appointment times and they take my insurance. Normally, I don't review medical stuff - it's kind of personal and who wants to hear about other people's medical issues? Gross. However, I'd be remiss if I didn't give this place 5 stars. Normally I go to a mall place for my eye exams and come away grossed out by the unprofessional behavior and craptastic service (refer to my "Visionworks" review for complete details). This is not one of those places. There are real doctors here and they do real eye exams. I've never had an exam take more than 20 minutes before - this one took an hour and was extremely thorough. I really recommend Dr. Garlich - she listens, she's happy to answer questions and she's responsive. There was a questionable finding on one of my tests and she called me personally the next day with results (unheard of) and patiently answered my 100 questions. I won't trust my vision to anyone else going forward. read more

On my way to work today, somehow the contact lens in my left eye tore on a blink and a piece of it became painfully lodged in my eye. It was bad enough that I turned around and drove straight to my other eye doctor, who was closed when I arrived. By sheer luck, I desperately googled this office nearby and walked in to beg for unscheduled help. Their staff recognized my ocular agony and helped me shuffle through the new patient paperwork. 10 minutes later Dr. Thomas Alpren, skilled with the tweezers, essentially saved my life. The waiting room was pretty busy, so I appreciated getting cut to the front of the line. I wasn't really in the market for a new eye doctor, but may now send these kind folks my routine business based off this positive experience, albeit a painful one. Thanks! read more

In general, I am not a fan of Doctors or the Medical profession as a whole (lots of bad experiences throughout my life), but my visit to Dr. Garlich at Ophthalmology Associates was actually pleasant. In my book, a pleasant Dr. visit is as good as it is ever going to get! Dr. Garlich was patient and helpful and adjusted the equipment so I didn't have to transfer out of my wheelchair. The office staff was also helpful and friendly. I hope my eye problem heals itself and I never need to go back to an eye doctor again, but if I do, I know I'll go back to Ophthalmology Associates and Dr. Garlich. read more

Dr. Moss is a fantastic doctor and a wonderful person.  He is kind, caring, and patient, and takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, to answer any questions you have, and to address all of your concerns. I've had cataract surgery with Dr. Moss on both eyes, and in both cases the surgery went perfectly.  I had a new type of lens called the Tecnis Symfony implanted, and I now have excellent uncorrected distance and reading vision.  I was obviously very fortunate, but also have no doubt that my results have much to do with Dr. Moss' skill as a surgeon and willingness to go to extreme measures to address my dry eye problems prior to surgery. Overall, I give Dr. Moss and the staff at Ophthalmology Associates my highest possible recommendation.  I wish all physicians were as skilled as Dr. Moss and cared as much about the happiness and well-being of their patients as he does his. read more

I recently had cataract surgery with Dr Moss. I was nervous about having it done at 50, but it turned out fantastic. I have been back to the office 2 times after for follow-ups and have never waited more than 5 minutes. In fact, I never saw people wait in the waiting room for 5 minutes. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. Overall it was an excellent experience. I would highly recommend Ophthalmology Associates to anybody who needs cataract surgery. read more

This was my first visit to Ophthalmology Associates and it will not be my last. They were polite and professional and I was in and out in no time. The only bad thing was that it can be a long wait to see someone to have glasses fitted, as there is only one person available to assist. I will need to go back another time as I did find a pair of my favorite "Vera Bradley". It is nice that they give you your prescription to take if you wouldn't find any glasses there. read more

If I could give Dr. Moss more than five stars, I would. The exam was very thorough, and he was very attentive to my needs. A very nice touch was that he adjusted my prescription based on my input vs. simply relying on the number coughed up by the testing equipment. The optical department is lacking, though. The frame selection is limited, and almost everything offered is of the cheap variety. I was informed that the Hales Corners location carried the nice line of frames that I was currently wearing. But the optician made it clear that she didn't like working with those frames and that if I chose them, I'd be better off going to Hales Corners for adjustments. That meant driving 12 miles to Hales Corners to buy frames and for the necessary followups vs. driving 2 miles to Cudahy. After receiving adequate but less than stellar service at Hales Corners, my inclination would be to return to Ophthalmology Associates for my next exam but to shop for glasses elsewhere. read more

The best eye exam I have ever had. Incredibly thorough, very precise, and very accurate. I'm done with your Lenscrafters and Wisconsin Vision type-places. Those places are puppy mills for eye wear and exams. I went here because they accept my insurance and this location is close to my work. It turns out that several of my Cudahy acquaintances and family members also are regular patents here. Everyone I speak to has the same opinion as I have: Great Opthomolgists, techs, and exams; their selection of eye wear is very limited. Their selection is limited to mostly the classics and just a few "hip" frames. You won't find those super-funky lime green frames that will have all your friends assuming you bought them the last time you were in Europe, but you will find something you will be happy with. I've had mine for six months, and I am still very happy with them. I just was back for to order a pair of prescription sunglasses. I'm sure I'll be as happy with them as I am with my regular glasses. read more

It was just a check up in August on laser surgery done for a tear in the retina. done by somebody else out of state (vacation). So paid the "co-pay" and now, Nov 19th get a letter "final notice before collection" for $9.94. Since I pay all the bills I know I have not seen this one at all. Evidently, they dont bother to call people and ask if there is a problem... like I didnt get the bill. I am fed up with medical bills trickling in for months after office visits, lab work, etc. In another case I realized we had paid the same medical bill for $108+ some 3 times (with threatening letters IIRC until I caught it and had to bring it to their notice whereupon they sent a check for the 2x excess. It is time for single payer/medicare for all and either a co-pay at the door or no charge at all. read more

Excellent doctors, top notch care. Billing department sucks, doesn't care about you or your well being. An on going treatment from an auto accident, spent a couple of thousand dollars on treatment and 253.31 went unpaid for 60 days while the two insurance companies figured out which one owed the bill and the billing department goes and cancels my next appointment and states "no payment no treatment " are you for real. Go somewhere else where the entire staff cares about you. read more
