Wanted to provide an update on my previous review. I was able to obtain a refund for my Gold Service membership, albeit through no effort from Stan's. Of course MGMT never called back to follow up from the msg I told dispatch about my request for a refund. I waited about 1.5 days, and called them back to follow up. I got transferred around, and finally got Wesley. He was helpful, but unfortunately the company is awful. He mentioned he would've gotten back to me if the message was assigned appropriately, apparently it was not. Which goes to show how much Stan's customer service is truly lacking, though to no fault of Wesley. He's the only 1 that had follow through, and was able to get my refund approved/processed. My original review still stands as to avoid them, and take your business elsewhere. Over promises, and under delivers. read more

I had some water leaking out under the closet in my garage where my furnace and hot water heater were. I got 5 or 6 companies to come by and look at it. As it turns out, I had the original HVAC system that came with this house, which was 28 years old. Our single story 3BR/2BA house had two air returns right in the middle of the house and it was the one feature I didn't love about this house because of how loud it was. You could hear it go on in any room of the house and especially in the living room when watching TV. I have decent surround sound and the noisy system was quite annoying. Price came over the next day and after I got prices from a couple of other places I decided to go with Stan's. They had a good price and I needed the work done quickly, as not having A/C in the summer isn't fun. I gave them the job on Thursday afternoon. Friday morning two teams of two came. They took out my old system (which was working) and removed my hot water heater. Then they replaced the shelf both were on and determined the water was coming from a slab leak (the second we've had in our house over 15 years). I decided to go with the most expensive system, a variable speed system from Carrier. They assured me it would be a lot quieter than my previous system. That was very important as we're planning to stay in this house forever or until we die, whichever comes first. Roger and Ruben installed the new system. Aaron and Armando installed a new hot water heater (my old one was 11 years old and it didn't make sense to put it back in). By 2 or 3 in the afternoon I had hot water and A/C. The slab leak was capped off and I didn't have hot water to my kitchen sink for the moment. I could not believe the difference. I had had no idea such quiet systems were available, I'd have replaced it years earlier if I knew. On Monday Aaron and Hugo came back. They lined the inside of the crawl space under the shelf with foil coated foam and that quieted the returns even more. They ran a new hot water line into my attic and down through my pantry wall to the sink. My wife and I are THRILLED with this new system. The two people I've showed it to (including a neighbor) were also astounded at how quiet the system is. It's like we're living in a totally different house. Instead of coming on at 100% and blowing really hard, this system runs at a lower pace more regularly. It also keeps the temperature much more consistent throughout the house. Stan's will be doing all of our HVAC maintenance and plumbing as well. We're very happy clients! read more

Excellent service from grant today I want everyone to understand that these are very motivated and thorough technicians. First they make sure that the filter is in perfect size and shape to fit into your unit. They bring their ladder and they put it in the garage and they go up and replace the filter. They have reasonable coverage and reasonable rates do check and see if they have any sales going on for any units that you want to upgrade. I've been with Stan's for several years now I couldn't be happier. Not the fault of the installers--there was no management / supervision. Also--their truck leaked oil on my cobblestone driveway. I have two calls out to them and have not heard back. Office was very nice and I expect I will, but really--I subscribe to the motion of "never letting the sun set on a client request". Especially when there is a new issue with an install. I called Blue Ribbon after my bad experience with Stan's plumbing.Larry came in and fixed the leak at a very reasonable price. The guy that Stan sent walked around a little bit. Told me I had to have the water company come turn off the water. After that he said that the water was not completely off to the house. He stated that he would need to put a separate cut off to the home to do the testing to find out where the leak was which is $931. And every test done to the different parts of the house will be $1,000 or more for each test. I asked if there was any other way. He said No. He stated that it looked like a $15,000 job. He then had me to apply for credit. After none of that worked, he said it was nothing he could do. Most of the time he was here he was in his truck. This cost me almost $300. I still had a leak. I called Blue Ribbon plumbing and it did not take Larry long to find the broken pipe behind the water softener and fixed it. Needless to say I paid him $1,200 for a job well done. read more

Not impressed at all. -Took literally 10 minutes on the phone just to book a quick appointment, as the woman that answered the phone took her sweet time entering all of my info and making me repeat it over and over again. -Was given a 12 hour window (8am-8pm) of when the tech would arrive the next day, which was frustrating, but was told to call in the morning to get an ETA. -Called in the morning and nobody was able to give me an ETA. Told me they'd call me back shortly. -I never heard back, leading me to have to call again 4 hours later -When it got to be too late in the day, I called to cancel - receiving their AI bot answering machine. The bot made me repeat all of my information just to cancel, and then ended up transferring me to a live person who asked for the exact same info! -After the appointment was cancelled, I still got a call an hour later from the tech saying he was on his way. Stan's has a lot of work to do to provide decent customer service. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I experienced extremely aggressive driving from someone in their company car, they nearly ran me into the cement borders merging onto 71 next to highway 290! They knew they were on the wrong lane and forced themselves inbetween me and the car very close in front during rush hour traffic AND in a construction zone that has been going on since the beginning of summer!!! If this is how your employees drive I can only imagine how you treat people's homes.... Will never recommend this business or spend my own dollars! read more

I am leaving this review only after exhausting all direct channels with management over the past four months to get basic installation issues and documentation resolved. In May 2026, I hired Stan's for a complete HVAC system replacement totaling over $12,000. Within the first three months of operation, the brand-new system suffered two complete shutdowns due to installation defects: May 22: The system completely powered down due to loose wiring at the thermostat. July 25: The system failed again in peak summer heat. A technician discovered loose high-voltage wiring at the disconnect box that caused the wire to overheat, requiring the wire to be cut back, a shorted contactor to be replaced, and refrigerant to be adjusted. While technicians responded to the emergency calls, the follow-through and quality control have been exhausting. The post-installation quality inspection failed to catch these wiring hazards. When official service reports were generated, critical details were omitted, photos of the outdoor unit were copied into unrelated checklist fields, and technician summaries were left completely blank. Management acknowledged in writing that operating refrigerant pressures were missing after the July repair and promised a technician would return to complete proper diagnostic testing, but no one was ever dispatched. Written requests for official labor warranty paperwork on company letterhead were also left unfulfilled. When you invest in a premium system, you expect dependable workmanship, thorough documentation, and reliable follow-through. TLDR: I scheduled an appointment, confirmed this with someone on the morning of the appointment, and was then told when I called again in the evening that this was all a lie and Stan's did not intend to fulfill the appointment for another 5 days. --- I was away on vacation and my AC went out during a very hot several days. I was worried about my cat's safety. I called Stan's since I had a Gold Service Club card. It routed me to the weirdest AI system that was actually pretty good at pretending to be human - fake call center noise in the background and everything. It looked up my account and said I had an appointment for the next day. I got a confirmation email and text - my appointment was scheduled for the next day. In the morning I called Stan's and got a human. I let them know I was out of town and gave my card since I would not be there to directly pay (my friend would be at the house). They noted this down on the appointment. I asked about what time *that day* they would be out for the appointment. I was told that they could give no estimation more than some time that day. Around 4/5pm I called again. I got a human again. I asked for an ETA. They transfer me to another person who handles scheduling. That person then tells me that everything I was told so far was a lie. I had no appointment for that day, despite getting 2 confirmations and talking to multiple other people about the appointment. The soonest they intended to get someone out to my house was 5 days later. read more

First, the receptionists and techs at this company are great. I can't say the same for the Building Performance people. We had a potentially serious problem with mold growing on the outside of our inside hvac unit. It was found by the tech doing a routine maintenance visit. He handed it off to his boss who came to check, and he said we needed the Building Performance person to proceed. After several phone calls, the BP person finally called back and left a message. We still had questions and no idea of what to do next. For one week we left five different messages; three by phone to helpful receptionists, and two on line through the Stan's website. NO ONE EVER CALLLED US BACK! In the meantime, we were freaking out, not knowing how serious this mold issue was and what we needed to do to treat the problem. After getting no response for a week, we contacted Reliant. We had a technician visit the next day, and a manager the following day who drew up several treatment plan options while at our home. We agreed on a plan and the whole issue was resolved two days later. Thank you Reliant! This experience with Stan's was so frustrating and surprising because they had always been responsive in the past, and had been providing service for our hvac unit that they installed five years ago. This whole situation should have been handled so differently on their part. We will never use this company again, and because of our experience, cannot recommend them at all to anyone needing heating and air conditioning service. read more

NEVER use Stan's. I had a massive plumbing issue that required immediate attention, so I called the first name to come up on Google (Stan's). Big mistake. Stan's came out, charged me an insane amount for just diagnosing the issue (which took 6 hours by the way and all they did was remove my toilet and send a camera down the pipe, then put the toilet back on). Once they found the issue, they told me I couldn't use water in my house at all under they fixed it, would have to move out of my house for 2 days while they fixed it because the water would need to be shut off, and it would cost $18,000 to make the repair. Needless to say, I found a local company to come and give a second opinion. Not only did they charge me half the price for diagnosing the issue, they did WAY more work in their diagnostic visit than Stan's did, and for half the price - they also provided a temporary fix that enabled us to continue to use water until the repair was done (which Stan's claimed was impossible). Additionally, their quote for the entire project came in at a fraction of the price of Stan's, allowed us to stay in our house with water only shut off for a couple of hours, and did it with way more confidence, friendliness, professionalism, and much quicker than Stan's. I will never be using Stan's again - complete price gouging to squeeze every penny out of you possible. Look for locally owned plumbing companies who actually care about the customer. read more

You can't run a business this way. People take their time off of work expecting that you are going to show up when you say you're going to show up... So now I am going to have to find another day to take off of work just to get my AC serviced. Not a single person from Stan's called or texted me to let me know of any delays. They schedule and They cancel. The second time they tried to cancel the service call I asked why again and upon finding out that they had cancelled before they went ahead and sent someone out. Somone without the filter (which they replace twice a year) and unable to complete the service. That was over a week ago. We were promised that someone would call and come out first thing Monday. I had Stan's out on 9/12/25 to replace a metal sheet, clean my drip pan, and replace styrofoam from my previously failing evaporator coil--damaged components from an earlier leak. This should have been covered under warranty, as I had Gold Plan maintenance in March 2025 and renewed. When they corrected some of the components, they damaged my ceiling and insulation by forgetting to glue condensation tubes, causing a second leak that same night. Weeks of my requests for insurance or reimbursement have been ignored. I had to cut a hole in my ceiling myself on 9/13/25 to prevent mold and have already spent over a thousand dollars on inspections and property damage, with total damages in the thousands. The HVAC unit still isn't fully fixed, and I'm left to handle the property damage myself - including mold. As a Gold Plan member, I should be reimbursed directly--not forced to go through my builder, as they suggested. This is untimely, unprofessional, and unacceptable. WOW....how disappointing!!!!We have been with this company for years and even signed up for a yearly service contract. Not sure what has happened to them but firstly, I never got the reminder call to book the scheduled service and when I called to make an appointment, I had to wait about 3 weeks to get one. Finally, the day came so I took the day off work. I waited and waited. Around 2:00 pm I called the office to be told "yes you are still on the schedule" So, I waited and waited.....at 8:00 pm that night, when it was getting dark, I got a young lady standing on my door step with her bag. I answered the door and said "you have to be kidding" to be told "It wasn't my fault" !!!!!! Yes, I felt sorry for her but for goodness sakes, how unprofessional can you get?????? How can you service something in the dark???? And, why would anyone want a technician to come to the their home at that time. The ac tech who installed my ac was so lame they couldn't even tighten a hose clamp which caused the system to leak and eventually flood the house. This leak could not be detected by the switch that's supposed to cut off the system bc water leaked out on the floor first. Took the day off work, lost money, called and confirmed my appointment for AC technician as well as my phone number with dispatch at 9am, as their email confirmation was vague and stated no time window, only that they would be here on this day. I specifically requested a call before arrival, waited all day, then was told they called to reschedule. I asked when they said they called as I did not miss a call from anyone today, the answer was "hmmm around noon?" I repeat... No missed call (we have cell phones now, so can easily see when a call was missed.) and a wasted day off work in a hot hot house in Austin Texas summer. I would not use Stan's again. Our experience was incredibly disappointing. We were without air conditioning in the Texas summer, with our home sitting around 90 degrees. Stan's kept us waiting for an entire week stringing us along before ultimately informing us that they couldn't schedule a technician until the following week. Had they been transparent about their availability upfront, we would have called another company immediately and avoided spending days waiting in an uncomfortable situation. It's especially frustrating because Stan's used to have a strong local reputation. Since the company was acquired by private equity, our experience has felt much more like dealing with a large corporation focused on growth and revenue rather than customer service and accountability. I also feel for the technicians and staff who are left representing decisions they likely have little control over. My advice is to look for a locally owned HVAC company that can be honest about their schedule and prioritize customer relationships. In August Stan's sent a technician to look at my ac unit which was not holding a cool temp. After looking at unit he said we would need to set up another appointment for a leak check. He did not have the equipment to check for leak. He put in $500 of Freon and sai see if it holds. It worked for 30 days and stopped cooling. I paid $360 for another technician to come check it out. He said there was a leak in the coil. They sent me an e mail saying they needed to replace the coil. No breakdown of parts, labor,etc.. cost of $6100.00. I called another company to come and check it out. I did share that Stan's had been here. They came, no charge for leak detection . They said there was small leak in coil that was repairable. He said to repair coil and Freon the cost would be $1600.00. I asked what would the charge be to replace the coil. He said around $3000.00. I have paid Stan every year for 4 or 5 years to be a Gold Star Member. What a joke. read more

I have been a customer of Stan's Heating & Cooling for over five years and have faithfully participated in your maintenance program, receiving tune-ups twice each year. Unfortunately, due to my recent experience, I will no longer be a customer. My concerns began when a technician diagnosed my upstairs damper as faulty and recommended replacement. I approved the repair; however, when the technician returned with the replacement part, he informed me that he could not perform the work because the damper was welded into the wall. This raised an obvious question: why was this not identified during the initial assessment? Rather than completing the repair, the technician stated that the damper appeared to be working at that moment and suggested we simply monitor the situation. A few weeks later, my air conditioning system began running continuously and would not shut off. When I called Stan's office on Friday to report the issue, I spoke with Denise. She informed me that there would be a $89 dollar service charge and that the earliest available appointment was the following Wednesday. What was most disappointing was not only the delay, but the way the conversation was handled. Denise was rude and unprofessional, and even suggested that I contact another company for service. I explained that your technician had previously stated he had struck the side of the damper and that it should no longer be an issue and if there was to call in and ask to have a damper manager come out. Given that information, I found it unreasonable to be charged again for what appeared to be a result of the previous service visit and failed diagnosis. As a maintenance program member, I also expected a greater sense of urgency regarding an issue that could potentially damage my compressor if left unresolved. I requested to speak with a manager and was told that someone would contact me on Monday. Amanda (the manager) subsequently called, but unfortunately that interaction was equally disappointing. As I was explaining the situation, there was complete silence on the line. After repeatedly saying "hello" and receiving no response, Amanda suddenly replied that she was still there. It appeared that she may have been distracted or multitasking during the conversation and had the phone on mute. At that point, I informed her that I had already contacted another HVAC company, and they were actively addressing the issue. My intention in taking the call was primarily to report on the unprofessional customer service I had received from Denise. However, after my interaction with Amanda, it became clear that the level of customer service I experienced was not only staff but management as well. After more than five years as a loyal customer, I am extremely disappointed that a misdiagnosed repair, a lack of accountability, and poor customer service have led me to take my business elsewhere. read more

On the phone, I specifically said that I had a tankless water heater, and the lady put me on hold to confirm that the discount was applicable. She told me it was, and scheduled me in for a few days later. Fast forward to today, the plumber comes and hands me a bill for $150 because the discount I saw online was for tank water heaters only.... I've been a Gold Service HVAC customer of Stan's for many years. Unfortunately, a storm caused an electrical surge that damaged the HVAC unit that serves all bedrooms, so it stopped working. I called Stan's on a Thursday morning and they added me to the schedule for Friday. Great. On Friday afternoon at 4:00pm, they called and said they didn't have bandwidth to come Friday or Saturday - but perhaps Sunday. I'm supposed to receive some level of "priority scheduling" based on my service contract. Needless to say, I called a competitor and they were great and resolved my issues on Saturday morning.
