I have used Stan's for years and have bought their HVAC SYSTEMS used their gold club membership for six months checkups. I recently scheduled their checkup and waited all day for them to show. They finally texted that they were rescheduling me for a couple of weeks later. Ok. That day comes and I wait all day and call several times to confirm based on what happened previously. I was assured they would be coming. I just got a text, not a call, that they were rescheduling me again. This company has gone downhill and uses AI for after hours calls. Do Not Use. read more

I had Stan's out on 9/12/25 to replace a metal sheet, clean my drip pan, and replace styrofoam from my previously failing evaporator coil--damaged components from an earlier leak. This should have been covered under warranty, as I had Gold Plan maintenance in March 2025 and renewed. When they corrected some of the components, they damaged my ceiling and insulation by forgetting to glue condensation tubes, causing a second leak that same night. Weeks of my requests for insurance or reimbursement have been ignored. I had to cut a hole in my ceiling myself on 9/13/25 to prevent mold and have already spent over a thousand dollars on inspections and property damage, with total damages in the thousands. The HVAC unit still isn't fully fixed, and I'm left to handle the property damage myself - including mold. As a Gold Plan member, I should be reimbursed directly--not forced to go through my builder, as they suggested. This is untimely, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Terrible phone run-around with extremely poor communication from multiple employees. First guy on dispatch talked a huge game about how their techs have all sorts of parts of the van, he was sure they could come out and fix it there. Fine, whatever, and it wasn't a problem when the tech didn't have the part he needed...BUT then the tech said "don't worry, I'll get the part tomorrow and we'll have this fixed in the morning." Great, I thought - but then the guy never called. Whole day goes by, I call them, they try and patch me through to their parts dept, but they're all busy so they'll call me back. Another day goes by. I call again. Oh, turns out they don't have the part, they'll call me back. Nothing. Just ridiculous service with no communication, every step of the way I was forced to call and see what was happening. Total clown show over there, do not use Stan's. read more

We called Stan's when our hot water heater stopped working. They sent a technician and said the service call was $89.00. He looked at the hot water heater and said the panel was bad and that it was over $2500.00 to repair it. My husband said he would look into getting a new heater. The technician charged us $194.00 Not $89.00 like we were told. My husband figured out it was a 30.00 sensor. The control panel was not bad. Would not recommend Stan's. read more

I had used Stan's for years, but their service has gotten so bad, I won't use again. I paid $169 for 2 HVAC maintenance visits. They were supposed to come out today. I never heard from them. When I called them at the end of the day to check, they claimed that a second system had texted me mid day, but I never got it. They would not commit to reschedule me the next morning, would not promptly refund the $169, would not copy me when they emailed the refund request to their manager, and would not give me the manager's contact info. I have been a long time customer with Stans, In 2024 I purchased a Gold Star Membership. They called me late in 2025 and said I had one visit left. I scheduled for an April 2 2026 date. Before my inspection I called Stans and requested morning -no problem someone would be there between 8-12. I called a couple of days before to confirm and was told yes to 8-12 timeframe. On my appointment day I called at 12:30 because no one showed up. At that point Misty (CS) told me "No Stans doesn't give a time we call 1/2 hour before" I cancelled my appointment , asked for a refund and was told a refund would take 7-10 business days. I also spoke to Chris (mgr) and was told same thing plus he said Stans had been bought by a bigger company & Customer service was changing On day 12 I called about my refund and I have been calling since. Most of the time I was told LISA (head of Gold Star Members) was the one to issue refund. CS always left messages for LISA to call me back My refund was on LISA's desk. When I called to follow up today I was told it wasn't LISA but CHRIS who needed to talk with me. He called me back and stated that due to timing I was getting a refund AFTER a month of follow up this is what I get...... NEVER, NEVER would I use Stans again The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE and I will be sharing my experience with everyone I now use Service Wizard- good customer service, employees & follow up! read more

Scheduling and dispatch are not working. I had preventive maintenance scheduled for the morning of 4/16/26. Toward the end of the morning I called to get a status on the appointment. Dispatch could not give any information. Because I had an afternoon appointment, I rescheduled to 4/30/26. This was set up as a "first appointment of the day" (8-10am) near 10 am I called dispatch to see if a technician was scheduled. They had no information, but said I would get a call 30 minutes before the technician arrived. At 11 am I saw a Stan's truck in the driveway . (No phone alert). The technician said we had dropped off the schedule and that he was supposed to be in Georgetown. I asked if he could do the service since he was here. He had to get permission from his supervisor to stay. Fortunately, he was able to do this. The technician was great. Calls into a supervisor have not been returned. Stan's has been very good in the past, but now you may have to be willing to wait all day for an appointment that may not happen. Disappointing. read more

On the phone, I specifically said that I had a tankless water heater, and the lady put me on hold to confirm that the discount was applicable. We called for an estimate for a leak in our yard. The technician came out and spent over an hour here, her conclusion was that we needed to replace the main water line and gave us an estimate $9,000. No work was performed other than the pressure test. My husband called them and complained, and was told a manager would be in contact, but we never heard back from them. My neighbor, who is a plumber came over and looked at it and said it was our irrigation line and he dug down and confirmed that was problem. The next morning we received an "Invoice" for $566 as if work had been performed! Still no call. Anything that was done by the technician should have been covered under the $96 Trip Charge for the estimate. read more

I have had wonderful service with the ac department but the plumbing department, I felt completely taken advantage of and I ended up paying 4k for a new water heater and installation. I had new tenants coming in and they showed up at 3pm putting me in a vulnerable state told me what a danger and hazards my instal was in and that I needed a new water heater. Stupidly i didn't not do a google search to see that a new 40 gallon water heater would have cost me $600 (at most $800). I had already signed a contract and could not back out and when i asked if they could just stop they said they would still have to charge me $2k for the visit. Exceptional service provided by HVAC technician Daniel Corona! Daniel changed out our two thermostats and repaired a minor gas leak in our HVAC system with first rate service, efficient and professionalism. I called last minute as our issue was somewhat of an emergency but received same day service! Daniel stayed until the job was done. We also had plumbing technician Rick Clark out to the house last week to check out some suspicious water spots on the ceilings in our master bath and garage. Rick provided a quick and reliable diagnosis of our problem which allowed us to move forward with repairs. He did not try to sell us any services we did not need which was truly appreciated. We had an issue with our shower in the master bathroom not draining. We tried using a plumbing slinky which did nothing. As we had used Stan's Heating & Air we called them and they could come by the same day. At 5:00 PM the plumber arrived and spent 2 hours working on the drain. The water drained but he stated we needed a Hydro Jet at $1100 to complete the job. This was after charging us $350.00. After getting Cold is on the Right to come by today we were told a Hydro Jet would not work as there were rocks in our drain pipes. Bottom line is we would never use Stan's again for plumbing as the person sent was incompetent. These guys are overpriced, under delivered and clueless. read more

I recently hired Stan's to do a hot water heater flush and maintenance check on my electric water heater in my rental while the unit was vacant. Technician came, did the flush, and readjusted the temperature of my lower thermostat from 120 to 140 degrees, saying it would help with the sulfur smell. He instructed me to run the hot water every other day to keep it flushed, that there was no need to replace the anode that I inquired about, and everything looked to be in good working order. When I came to run the hot water 2 days later as instructed, there was no hot water running at all. It appears that the higher temperature adjustment overworked both thermostats (the water heater has a lower and upper thermostat) and both stopped working. I called Stan's again and another technician came to inspect the unit. He quoted me $585 to replace both thermostats including a $250 unusual heater location fee. My lowboy 51 gallon water heater sits on a platform above the dryer unit, easily accessible with a step stool. I was quoted $350 to replace the anode plus additional fee as they would have to empty the tank and bring the unit down to replace the anode for a total of a roughly $1000. I went ahead and scheduled the repair but after doing a little research, I called in to cancel. The service agent on the line told me a manager will call me to discuss the issue. One week later, I still haven't gotten a call back. In the meantime, went to Ferguson's Plumbing Supply on Airport Blvd armed with the serial number of my AO Smith water heater. They ordered me the two OEM thermostats for a total of $50 (it took 3 days to get the part). It took shutting off the water heater breaker, a screwdriver, a voltage tester for $20, a small step stool and 30 min to replace the two thermostats. Water heater is working once again and I'm glad I took a pause to do a little research (or rather wait for the manager call I never got). I'm guessing the quality of work has a lot to do with the integrity of the technician assigned so I cannot speak for others on their team but I will not hire this company again. read more

They don't seem to care very much about customers. Called for an appointment on Thursday evening for next morning. I was told I would get a text with a service time window. Text never came so called at 11:30am and was told I was technicians next stop, 2 pm no communication call back and now I am assigned to a different technician, and they will arrive at between 2-6. 5:15 pm tech finally shows up and new motor was needed and they could get it installed next day if parts were in stock. During the diagnostics tech tells me they turn down couple of hundred customers each week because they are so busy. He told me I can expect the repair cost to be 800-900. After the service no communication if part was in stock, no quote for repair, nothing. I call that evening and got an answering service and someone calls back and says parts department is off till Monday and they can't tell me if the part is in stock until Monday. The following Tuesday I get a quote for 1750 which is about twice what the tech told me. By the way I was able to get another local company to replace the motor on a Saturday for 700 bucks. If you want a company who cares about their customer look elsewhere. read more

My recent experience with Stan's was so unprofessional that it's hard to believe. I had an HVAC issue covered under my builder's warranty so I scheduled Stan's since they are the ones who installed the unit. Corina called me to cancel & reschedule 3 separate times, stating techs had been out sick. I was super understanding and this wasn't a big deal to me. Everyone is short staffed and people get sick. I had no idea this was foreshadowing my ongoing experience with them. When a tech finally came out he diagnosed the issue and was able to confirm it was an entire missing piece that was never installed. First strike against Stan's, they did their job wrong the first time. Now that we knew the problem I had to schedule again for someone to come fix it. When they finally came it was 2 guys. I had to ask them to wear shoe covers and they weren't thrilled about having to go back to the truck (instead of being prepared and having them initially) they went into the bathroom to fix the issue. I asked them if I should move any of our personal items out of there and they told me no. They finished the job and left. Afterward I went in and saw that they had destroyed my bathroom. They had to cut at drywall and left it everywhere. Not to mention it was very clearly where we bathe our child so all of her toys, towels etc were all covered in drywall. They installed the unit crooked and left dirty black fingerprints all over the ceiling. They also took a nice chunk out of the wall with their ladder on the way out. I called and spoke to Corina about the issue. She said to send pictures. I sent them and never heard back. The next day after calling twice I finally got ahold of her and she was so incredibly cold and rude to me. Absolutely zero apologies. Did not even try to take responsibility for their actions. Just coldly said "we need to get you scheduled and don't have anyone til next week" so you mean to tell me after 3 reschedules and some very shoddy work, I'm back at the bottom of the list? Just wait, it gets better. The guy who came the following week wasn't given a reason for his visit, the notes just said that the other guys left a mess. So he wasted his time coming out. Due to all of the cancellations, I also had to cancel the follow up drywall appointment that was set to repair the drywall after Stan's completed their job. When this company was finally able to come they went to go and do their job and stated that the fan piece (the part that was "repaired") was installed incorrectly and was very likely going to fall from the ceiling. Thats right, a heavy bathroom fan in the bathroom I bathe my child in was not actually secured. So those 2 guys who destroyed my bathroom didn't even do their job right. So once again Stan's had to come out. This time Bernie came. Bernie showed up, immediately put shoe covers on and was beyond friendly. He went and looked at the issue and went and got plastic to tape around the walls to protect the bathroom. I asked if that was standard and he said yes. He was extremely thorough and professional and fixed up all of the shoddy work that had been done. THANK YOU for being friendly and competent unlike every other person I dealt with. So yeah, an issue that only happened due to their error in the first place took 3 cancellations, 4 actual visits and a lot of cleaning on my part. This is one of the worst experiences of my life and I wouldn't recommend Stan's to my worst enemy. read more

AC balancing is part of the purchase and was told it would be completed a month after installation.... It's been 4+ months and no rebalancing (not to mention the drain lines were installed backwards during initial install). We work from home and the office is like a sauna. Called multiple times with no return calls to schedule an appointment. And worse, spoke with two different managers who promised to "make it right" with absolutely nothing done to complete the work we paid for. Management / owners don't quite get the customer service part of business. We recently used Stan's Heating and Air for three spring A/C tune-ups at properties we manage. While the process required unnecessary owner authorization despite us being the property managers, it got done. But when scheduling a fourth property, things went sideways. I had already submitted all the info--address, tenant contact, owner details--and the owner called to authorize. I told the tenant to expect a call, but Stan's never followed up. The tenant even called them, and they refused to speak with him. When I followed up, they suddenly required upfront payment and refused to contact the tenant, saying they were "too busy" and that the tenant had to call again. I asked if they could call later in the day, and they still refused. The representative I spoke with was rude and dismissive, showing no willingness to work with us. After all the hoops we jumped through, they still wouldn't schedule. I won't be using Stan's again and wouldn't recommend them to anyone needing reliable service. read more

Waste of time. I called them to replace my water heater and a dying HVAC unit. Since they're different divisions I had two different sales guys come out the following day (not an issue). The first sales guy suggested a Rheem product which I said I wasn't interested in due to my horrible experience with Rheem heat pump water heaters (they're horribly loud). He said he would get back to me with alternate options (I also suggested several models). I followed up two weeks later after hearing nothing and was told I would get a callback from the sales manager the next day. It has been a week and no call back. Total waste of my time. The second sales guy quoted an HVAC replacement like I had requested. He sent it via email the day after the visit. I fired off about half a dozen questions regarding the equipment asking how it compared to a competing HVAC manufacturer. I never received a response. So, my takeaway about this vendor is that they can't offer anything outside their box, they don't listen to customer requests and they don't respond or follow up to questions. read more

Consulted a plumber about work that Stan's plumbing had done last week in our bathroom. One of Stan's plumber's said he had replaced our shower faucet cartridge and charged us $327.00 for a cartridge that we had not agreed to replaced without contacting Delta The shower faucet did not work properly once he left. A few days later another plumber came from Stan's and said it wasn't the cartridge but a valve that needed to be replaced for cost of $900.00 . The plumber we consulted with looked at the cartridge and said it looked old and not new. The Delta rep. also said that the flow handle that is hard to move would not have happened if the old cartridge had been replaced with a new one. Our new plumber said the valve did not need to be replaced. He adjusted the mixing controls on the old cartridge and the water temperature control began mixing hot and cold as it should. He told us to replace the cartridge to correct the faucet handles' difficulty turning. I contacted Delta and they agreed and they are sending a new cartridge at no cost. I would avoid Stan's. They don't appear to know what they are doing and they could end up costing you a lot. read more

If I could give Stan's a negative rating I would. We were on a service contract which provided for annual inspection and flushing of our water heater and inspection of our HVAC. The first time they came out on the HVAC, they said the system should be replaced. They second time they came out they said it was working fine and shouldn't be replaced. Ultimately we had them replace the system and they're service and respect for our property was minimal. The first time they came out to flush the water heater they said it was fine and flushed it. The second time (1 year later) they said it was too old to flush and did nothing other than to send me a list of piping and items unrelated to the water heater that needed to be replaced. As it turns out the so- called service technicians are really sales persons who are sent to try and sell you more products. I called Stan's 3 times after the technician refused to flush the water heater and was told a manager would contact me back. No one has returned my call. I have spent nearly $20k with Stan's over the past 2 years and they won't return my call. This is the worst customer service I have experienced in a decade. We have cancelled our contract with Stan's. read more

After years of patching my old upstairs central air unit I decided to upgrade and selected Stan's Air Conditioning to do the service. Brandon and Nathaniel, the technicians, showed up 30 minutes early and replaced the A/C , furnace and outdoor compressor unit over the next several hours. They also added another two vents and returns to improve air flow and lower operating costs. I'm super-pleased with the work. Installation was in a tight space but they managed to install it text-book perfect as the attached image shows. After installation Brandon walked me through using the new Ecobee thermostat and gave tips on quarterly maintenance to keep it running smoothly. This is the third time I've called on Stan's in 10 years and they have been consistently professional and reliable every time. I highly recommend them. read more

Stan's came out as result of a water heater flush special $99. Not even within 10 minutes of him being there, he tells me I had a leak in an area that he had to undo the tape from both pipes, as if he was looking for something to ping. No leak showed as he showed me initially and then he told me I needed to have the pipe replaced because after the fact, he claims it started leaking again. He immediately replaced the pipe. Now, I asked for Stan's to come out to do a flush based off a coupon. He walked out with a $144 payment for the pipe replacement and NEVER flushed the water heater. He CLAIMS, it could not be flushed due to 2 other parts that had to be replaced. BS. So, now according to him, the flush cannot be conducted unless those parts are replaced. I called Stan's 3x since this happened and advised it will escalate to management. The last person I spoke to act like nothing was done wrong and that I can still have the flush done. Well, how is that possible if one tech says it cannot be done unless the parts are replaced and he's saying it can be done. NO ONE in management has called me back to discuss this matter. I feel I was taken advantage of because it appeared to him, I was single and lived alone and quite frankly, I do not have experience in water heater maintenance. read more
