Well I came in on a Sunday afternoon and walked in to a DJ playing pulsing beats, a tropical ocean scene painted on one wall, a pharmacist with fear and loathing sunglasses who looks like he just got back from Burning Man complimenting my fur coat, and the rest of the staff dancing. It's not necessarily my scene but jesus you gotta appreciate that. And the staff there were the best! I was fighting a cold, at that critical point where you're starting to sneeze too frequently for it to be a coincidence. The super sweet gal behind the counter prescribed me a Painkiller Tea, along with an Immunity shot and an Algae shot cut with watermelon juice. She moved around like a mixologist and explained how everything worked, and worked with my palate to give me something I could stomach (I explained I don't like healthy food and to go easy on me). I did my shots (the algae shot ended up being pretty damn good), and took my tea to go (a turmeric and ginger concoction). And whatever cold I was developing was dust. $14 and no sick days is definitely worth it. Go, meet some nice people, have some fun, and feel better. Good to know: They don't allow photography, but were kind enough to let me snap a photo since I asked. Be cool about it! read more

Stanley's Pharmacy - Algae shot, immunity shot, tea - Pharmacy Near Me - New York, New York

Though I haven't had any prescriptions filled here, I'm a regular for one thing and one thing only--their proprietary hangover elixir. It rings in around 16 ounces, tastes like you're drinking a liquified tree, and will wipe away your fuzz faster than you can say "Jägermeister." Highly recommend if you're like me and miss the days of being a 24 year old who could crush well whiskey, get 3 hours of sleep, and put in a full work day like no big deal. read more

This is not a standard pharmacy. Super cute aesthetics mixes clean lines of a beauty counter with traditional feel of a 50's dinette. I'm glad I finally made some time to check this place out! I walked in and told them it's my first time so I was a little confused and the friendly dude behind the counter asked me "how are you feeling today?"...I told him hot...because it's really hot out...and a little about my chronically sensitive stomach that was acting up. He made me a tailored kombucha drink with watermelon and some kind of vitamin infusion thing...it was a lot of information but I was too hot and excited about my drink to listen as well as I should have : ). When I walked outside and took my first sip-well, I know I'm hooked now. I'm not afraid of green juice or anything but I think we all have our limits and I'm always afraid that anything that claims to be extremely healthy isn't going to taste great- yay for exceptions! What's better than a pharmacy where you can walk in and just tell them how you're feeling and they'll tailor a juice, tincture, tea...whatever you want...for you??? Not much to this spoiled city girl! Status: About 1/4 of a way through my drink and feeling better already! read more

Stanley is amaze. I'm bicoastal which creates some serious temperatures changes my body hates. Stanley helped me find some teas that were appropriate for me. He's super helpful and thorough. What a charming business. If it were on my block I'd stop by every morning for some tea and a hang. read more

Cute spot but we walked in and Stanley or whoever was on the phone and did not even acknowledge us: not even an "I'll be right with you" finger gesture. Made me want to give him a finger gesture of my own. Stood around awkwardly for a while, and then sat there without acknowledgement for several more minutes. The DH still wanted his homemade soda so we waited. When Stanley or whoever finally got off the phone he apologized, made our drink from fresh raspberry and watermelon, then went right back to gabbing on the phone. It was like being served by a teenaged girl trapped in an older dude's body. "Like, OMG, she said wuuuut?! Ex~cuuuse me, ma'am, I'm on the phone. How rude! Anyway, oh no she di~n't!" Then he deigned to look up from his conversation just to kick us out for eating after we had been sitting there doing so ever since we got our drink, and said in a condescending tone: "I don't serve food for a reason." Like fruit is not food just because you mash it up a bit and add water and carbon dioxide. We weren't eating anything very messy, just (non-crusty) soft challah rolls. And he didn't even notice until we were almost done. At that point you might as well let us finish up. We literally had to pack up our one remaining bite each and go outside to finish. It's not that he didn't want us to eat inside, it was his tone and attitude. If it means that much to you that people not eat inside, how about you pay attention to what's happening instead of yakking on the phone nonstop? Drink was not bad, not too sweet. Not sure it was worth $6 though. Cool on a warm and humid day, it also feels like they are running air conditioning with all the doors open - this is illegal in NY. There are signs on all the shop doors declaring it. Who is this Stanley, to think he's above the law? read more

I mean. I just. Kombucha on tap?! In two different amazing flavors? For reasonable prices? I wish I could go here every goddamn day. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. AND DRINK KOMBUCHA ON TAP FOREVER UNTIL THE END OF TIME. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. S'all I'm sayin'. read more

Stan THE MAN! Love this place. Amazing coffee... when he makes it for you. They have the best kombucha and all these fancy drinks. I guess they're focusing on a nationwide distribution and all these fancy tinctures. Maybe some home health products. Keep a look out soon. Stanley's is great and if you're around Ludlow and Broome. Stop in and see him. He's a talkative personality. Love Stanley's Keep it up! read more

What is this amazing wonderland of healthful things!? I came here randomly tonight and was handed a cup of kombucha on tap that tasted better than any I have ever had in my life. Fizzy, light, and subtly sweet, this is the Kombucha of the Gods. Anyway, I can easily tell this is just the tip of the iceberg. For instance, they sell Intelligentsia Coffee and espresso! They have nutty herbs and salves everywhere! They make their own tonics! Also, all the people in here look like they could be in Uniqlo ads and the ambiance is like neo-eco-minimalist-chic. Plus, the dude who runs this place is captial C Cool. Seriously, what even is this place? How do they have kombucha that tastes so fresh and wonderful on tap? How does that even work? This place is nuts and I plan to come here every single time I am in LES/Upper Chinatown. I strongly recommend you give this true hidden gem a try. read more

As a pharmacy student, I thought the concept of Stanley's Pharmacy was quirky and interesting. We had luggage's with us though, and when the guy at the counter saw them, he immediately exclaimed that they were actually "closed". There was a customer clearly sitting there leisurely on her laptop, but apparently he "forgot to close the door." Their hours are 10-6pm. We came around 1. I gave him the benefit of the doubt at first, but after reading some of these other reviews, it seems like the common Stanley Pharmacy etiquette to be assholes. Even if it's not a traditional pharmacy, there's no excuse to treat patients/customers in a way that degrades my profession more than already necessary. read more

Was feeling like I was coming down with a cold. Came and described my symptoms to Stanley. He said that I needed to change my air conditioner filter. He also made me a turmeric ginger tea that knocked my socks off it was so spicy and awesome. It made me feel so much better. I went home and checked my air conditioner filter. It. Was. Disgusting. Well done. read more

I was walking around and stumbled upon this bright place. A glance on the inside and I knew I wanted to share with the world how cute and unique it looks compared to most pharmacies. Once I walked in with my camera ready, I was immediately yelled at for taking pictures and even the customers there were yelling at me to get out. Absolutely rude and unprofessional! As a pharmacy student, I think it's great exploring different types of pharmacies but this completely blew me off. I hope next time, they won't be so rude about it and that I can actually go in and check it out. read more

I mean... If you don't know. U NEED to know. Stanley's awesome! The staff is extremely helpful. You can rely on Stanley to help you fix your hangover to your PMS mood swings. read more

Where else on earth can you get a prescription filled, kombucha on tap, a tonic elixir and sit down for an espresso? Thank you Stanley!

Stanley is the man. I love this place for all my drink and drug needs.

I had a moderately sore throat about a month ago and decided to stop in to see how their "elixirs" worked. I generally think a lot of the hollistic/herbal stuff is a load of crap, but thought that this would be a good excuse to get myself some kind of smoothie or shake or something. Things didn't go as expected. There was no shake, and it wasn't a load of crap. It worked. They made me a couple of shots of some odd blends and told me to do the first shot, then the second, and then sip on a hot tea they were going to make me. I took the first shot and it kind of stung and was really spicy. I love spicy food and can eat things that will make people roll on the floor and scream in pain, so I was Ok, but this might be hard for some people. Then I took the second shot which soothed the sensation from the first, but didn't taste particularly good. As I was telling Stanley that I think it helped a bit, about five seconds later, my sore throat felt completely better. As in 100% gone. As if it were some kind of miracle potion. These guys are good. Five stars all the way. P.S. They make a good coffee too. read more

This place really makes the neighborhood feel like a neighborhood. Stanley is hella good at both the herbs and the prescriptions, and will always tell you the little things they miss at the drugstore (seriously!) if you get a prescription filled here. Plus if you're feeling sick, tired, or just plain crappy, Stanley or Dalton will hook you up with a tea or a shot (or both!) that will send you home feeling ever so much better than you walked in. Just tell them how you are feeling and how you want to feel, and you're good. And yes, fresh delicious kombucha! And hot chocolate made properly with water instead of milk! (And coconut sugar, for those watching their glycemic indices...) Plus you can get a coffee while you're waiting for your pills. Is there any downside? Ok, it's not a quick place to grab caffeine and go. You might have to wait as they prepare you something fresh, personalized, and to order. Do I care? Not when I'm headed to Stanley's. read more

Stanley is so kind, friendly, hip and knowledgeable. Not your typical pharmacy, that's for sure! Feels more like a futuristic soda shop and the atmosphere beats Duane Reade and Rite Aid. Picked up a lovely, soothing tea for my sore throat plus an herbal remedy for my son's sinus condition. Can't wait to go back and try more of the elixirs! So much fun. Every time I go, I learn something new. read more

This is my favorite Pharmacy in NYC... if you can even call it a Pharmacy. It is a Pharmacy redefined... no more boring, corporate, manufactured feeling of getting shuffled in and out. Stanley is a pleasure to chat with, and he is not at all some robot manufactured by some pharma school funded by some big pharma company to push buttons and sell whatever the TV commercials convinced you to get. He is genuine, friendly, knowledgeable, and open minded about pharmacology. He looks at what other cultures might have used for centuries, including herbal and probiotic remedies along with a myriad of different ways you can naturally heal. Not to mention he has Kombucha that TASTES DELICIOUS and comes right out of a TAP! Also his coffee is on point. I literally feel like I am in living in the future every time I visit this wonderful place. I highly recommend this to anyone in the neighborhood who is sick of the nasty conditions inside the Duane Reades and Rite Aids across the city. Its about time for a pharmacy revolution to start in NYC and Stanley's is a spark that this city needs to embrace! Seriously... this place rocks! read more

My favorite pharmacy which changes your perception of what a cool pharmacy looks like. Very nice stylish people working there and the most importantly very professional. They are ready to advise your needs and helpful in terms of choosing medcine. I always come to pick up prescription here and enjoy a cup of healing tea. Great job guys! read more

Stanley is the nicest Pharmacist in the entire city, love that place!

Great coffee, customer service at both the pharmacy and coffee bar is welcoming. The location has a nice street view as well.

Stanley's is great! I'll never go back to rite aid or any of those other pharmacies as long as Stanley's is around. Great service, you're treated like a person and not an inconvenience. Plus they have a fancy soda fountain like an old school pharmacy from back in the day but also with turntables. read more

This place is a breath of fresh air. Not only will Stanley's remedies fix any ailment, they also have delicious drinks and coffee. I went in every time I felt a cold coming on to drink their immunity booster drink, which kept the sickness at bay. Stanley is super helpful with all your pharmacy needs. Highly recommended, incredible pharmacy. read more

Stanley is always helpful and ready with a smile. Great advice on everything from pharmaceuticals to natural remedies. The kombucha is awesome as is their espresso! Definitely a neighborhood gem! read more

This place is terrible. The owner and staff are extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. They do not care about their customers since I was treated as more of an annoyance for asking questions vs. a paying customer. I wouldn't visit this place again if you paid me. read more
