I was nearby when my friend mentioned that this bakery had cannoli cheesecake. I literally called to confirm and made sure they had it available right there and then. Thankfully they did! We drove over and picked one up, for a very reasonable price. We ended up having a couple slices while playing cards that night and it was Delightful! read more

Man oh man Stanley's you still rock. Thanks to a former coworker turned friend reminded me of Stanley's when I needed to bring something to work in a pinch on this beautiful yet cold Monday morning. Thankfully Stanley's was open too today because of Thanksgiving on Thursday otherwise I would've had a little snafu. Jelly donuts still rock and my new coworkers love em. Therefore 5 stars. I love Stanley's! I've been coming here since I was a child and I stand by the fact that they have the best jelly donuts on the island. Nope don't argue with me I know I'm right. Coated with cinnamon sugar and always made fresh they literally melt in your mouth. I recently tried an egg sandwich from them and honestly it was terrible but I'm gonna stuck with cakes and donuts! I've heard great things about Stanley's since I moved into the area. Multiple people have recommended us to try not only their baked goods, but their breakfast sandwiches. It's a nice clean store, plenty of parking out front. The bakery options seem endless. Cakes, cookies, pastries & donuts, you name it they have it. There's always multiple people working, so the lines move fast. Last week we bought a crumb cake to bring over to someone's house for brunch. It was delicious and I think there was only one piece left by the time everyone was leaving. This morning I stopped there for breakfast. I tried the "Boomer", which is their version of a hungry man. It has 3 eggs, bacon, sausage and ham. They put it on a piece of semolina Italian bread which really sets this apart! It was so good, and it was the perfect size. Most times these come on a hero which turns out to be more food than needed, but having it on a cut piece of Italian bread was perfect. The pricing is very fair, I believe the crumb cake was about $12, and the breakfast sandwich was about $8. read more

Awesome hometown bakery. Went for the first time the other day and saw how many loyal customers frequent this spot every weekend. As I waited for my turn in line, I was able to peruse what seemed like the endless options of sweets and freshly baked breads. The girls behind the counter were working quickly and efficiently. They knew some regulars on a first name basis and made sure to ask how they've been, always appreciate that kind of conversation. I walked in for Irish soda bread, left with two (each freshly iced) a couple of jelly and Boston cream doughnuts, rye bread, rainbow cookies - the best I've had in a long time and some cinnamon raisin bread. Stopped by Stanley's, my local go to bakery this morning to pick up a few of their scrumptious croissants to take to the beach but unfortunately they were sold out, so sad . I opted for their cranberry nut muffins. As usual they were so fresh ,moist and buttery , filled with plenty of cranberries and nuts with a yummy crumb topping . By the way they make the best carrot cakes , and if you love almond horns this is the place for you ! You really can't go wrong with any of their goodies , everything is fresh Returned to my local bakery to pick up a few almond horns , my husband's favorite! They make the best almond horns , sweet , chewy with lots of almond flavor , fantastic! I always enjoyed Stanley's bakery and it has been my favorite bakery for years until they changed the ownership. I have purchased cakes and pies that were not fresh. I did call until the bakery, and they did offer me a gift card. The most disappointing aspect of his bakery is that they do not acknowledge Hanukkah. When they decorate for the holidays, it is only decorated for Christmas. In the past until the new owners came, they always had a Hanukkah menorah up. Recently, I went in during the week of Hanukkah and asked if they had any Hanukkah desserts, which they did not. Then I asked if they had any Babka cake or rugelach which most bakeries would have anyway even during a non-holiday season and they did not . After frequenting this bakery for years, I will no longer go there. By the way, I went over to Stop & Shop and bought the rugelach there and they were very delicious.! read more

Should be called Stale-y's. Went in for a birthday cake for mom last week. I explained to the girl helping me that my son has a nut allergy and her first recommendation after telling me it's not a nut- free bakery was a maple walnut cake! I chose vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream ( her description ). The cake had zero vanilla flavor, just sweet and stale. There was white chocolate poured over the top for appearance I guess. The roses on top looked great but tasted like I had bitten into an aspirin. Disappointing, especially for $22. This is what drives people to BJs and Costco for bakery needs. read more

This used to be the best bakery for bums rolls and muffins. They have eliminated many great items. The yogurt muffins are gone the horn shaped Kiser rolls poppyseed buns The Kiser rolls are bland and doughy. The service is excellent. Most of the buns are still good. read more

The jelly filled sandwich cookies that are dipped in chocolate and sprinkles cost $16.95 a pound and to find most of them fell apart because they have a dock of jelly and almost no chocolate on them. This is everyone's favorite local bakery. I've been coming here after church for over 50 years. Always at least 15 customers in the store and at least 12 local teenage girls behind the counter to help. I love their jelly donuts and caraway bread sticks. My daughter favors the cannolis and rainbow sprinkle cookies. Cakes and breads are all wonderful. You will leave with more than you intended, but the prices are extremely reasonable. I once went to a competitor for fancy cupcakes and they were double the price. When I asked why they said it was because they were a " boutique " bakery. I don't know what that means but I'll stick with Stanley's. read more

Stanley's was my latest stop in my hunt for a great jelly donut less than 100 miles from my home in Garden City, NY. I tried both powdered and cinnamon. Both were very good and unlike many jelly donuts I've had these actually had a good amount of jelly inside. What keeps these from great is something that I notice at many bakeries - the quality of the jelly is just ok. I feel like if I took these donuts without the jelly and stuffed them with some simple smuckers raspberry jelly they would be fantastic. read more

A friend surprised me with donuts from here and yum! they good. Super fresh, perfect size. The white icing ? Or glazed was sooo good. Definitely one of my favorites. She insisted they had no record of my payment. Thank God I had the receipt in my back pocket. She asked me if I wanted anything else. I said yes, and she walked away. Okay here we go order our wedding cake two weeks up to 4 days before wedding they started refusing delivery to the restaurant we were having party at after service which is less than five miles from bakery not far cake needed to be there noon or one in afternoon for party at 2:30 went back and forth with them five times cause they said delivery only in morning that's it finally after fifth time girl said she's getting off at noon knows restaurant and will deliver okay great gave her $40 tip said ty now two days before wedding they call and say how do you want cake decorated which they had all information and pictures from 2 months ago when it was ordered so I go back again go over everything this is six time in two weeks before wedding fighting and discussing this cake reaffirmed the delivery while there gave them manager number in restaurant just in case any delivery issues so now forward to wedding day this is the absolute kicker for me delivery of course didn't happen even though they promised I gave pretty nice tip no one called the manager at restaurant and no one notified us either so restaurant went to bakery and picked up cake thank goodness but my bride extremely upset now crying dealing with this crap all the way up to wedding day this is totally unacceptable and unforgivable in my eyes which I have not dealt with them yet and the total consensus of guests at party was cake not good at all icing okay fillings ok cake itself horrible so to anyone don't order your wedding cake from this bakery even strip steak restaurant said they've never seen anything like this with the problem we went through with them and the cake after all this did not look like the picture we chose from the bakery website so if you can't make it look like pictures then don't post pictures that say you can i will never recommend them or ever go there again over 45 years been going there gonna miss those doughnuts!!! read more

Was in here recently to order a birthday cake. The girl seemed annoyed that I wanted something written on it. I picked it up a week later and it looked like it was dropped on the floor. Gave them another chance though. This time, a woman behind the counter was yelling at us all to "Close the door and wait inside or wait outside!!". Are you seriously kidding me? This is how you talk to customers? There were so many older people on line and it was very wrong and disrespectful to them. One man said this same woman yelled at him for putting his hand on the counter. This establishment was well supported during the pandemic. Growing up, I couldn't wait for Sunday mornings when my grandpa would bring me a jelly doughnut from Stanley's. Now he no longer lives in East Islip, he's much older and spends half his year in FL! (boooo!) Good thing is about being a grown up, I can now drive myself to Stanley's anytime I want. On the rare occasion that I go, I call ahead to make sure there's a jelly there for me-they sell out everyday! Jelly doughnuts are just the beginning of the great sweets they have there which include cookies, cakes, breads & pastries. The employees are always friendly and ready to help you. The place from outside in unremarkable, and the bakery "outdated" but seriously it's one of the greatest, old-school bakeries I have experienced. You can't go wrong at Stanley's! read more

Can't believe how cheap they are getting with the filling in the jelly donuts! How do you go from the absolute best donuts on Long Island to just a mediocre jelly donut with hardly any filling? I guess the only positive thing is that Stanley's used to have long lines every Sunday morning. Now there are hardly any lines because the donut quality has gone way down in the past decade or so. I bought miniature cannoli and eclair on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I was handed the box of 16 pastries and the box felt empty. There was no weight to the box. I questioned to myself , "are they stale? No, they can't be." This the day before a holiday. They were stale. The eclair actually tasted better 2 days later when they were soggy.
