Eat outside on the upper deck for the best view in North Alabama. We ate there yesterday for lunch and it was delicious. They have an excellent luncheon menu which includes various main dishes and one side item and drink for $12. I had grilled chicken fingers and dill potatoe salad with tea. Service was fast and it's always fun to watch the boats on the Tennessee river. It's a view and food that I never get tired of. read more

They open at 11.00 am we arrived at 11.50 am told to wait 30 40 min we said ok not even 2 minutes we were escorted up stairs. To sit next to filthy windows this place NEEDS a up date from the bathrooms to the stairs it is a total old dirty mess. As far as the food I had shrimp squires that comes with 1 side perfect a baked potato. I chose to add a side salad for $3.00 no problem. When I receive my bill they charge me for a salad and a baked potato. When I brought it up to our waitress she said to me you ate them both. Yes I ordered them and ate them. But I also read the menu. My meal came with 1 side. So I should not be charged for both. Then the manager came and said this is how we do it here you were charged correct. I asked if they could please read the menu. We were celebrating my wife's Birthday and I called early to reserve a table. We even showed up early and it still took over an hour to get a table. Then to find out our table had been ready for 15 minutes and no one called or let us know. My son received a text 30 minutes into meal our table was ready. I had brought a birthday cake and they placed it in the refrigerator for us. The lady downstairs took our order and it took forever to get our drinks and it was very confusing and a mess. We did not get enough silverware and they ran out of forks! The appetizer was good however the salad was not cut small and without a knife to cut could not eat salad! Tomato was almost green, I had to get potato salad and it was over seasoned. Our nephews ordered a seafood boil and it took over an hour and everyone else was finished. We were there for over an hour and a half when the waitress brought our checks and forgetting about my wife's birthday. Forgot about our cake in the refrigerator. I asked her, could we at least have our cake back? This is probably the worst experience I have ever had in the shoals. But I not only blame the waitresses but management. How can a restaurant run out of potato's, forks, knives? I will not be returning to the river bottom grille and I encourage everyone else to boycott until they get new management. Furthermore it was my father in law first time, his steak was dry and he had the same over seasoned potato salad and was not happy. It's a shame that a good restaurant like Stanfield has a sister restaurant so miss managed. Oh yes no hush puppies! I will give this restaurant a bottom, I guess that's why they call it the river bottom! Oh yea forgot about having to eat our appetizer on the table, no napkins and definitely not a small plate. We were vacationing in the area and decided to go to River Bottom Grill. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but, to me, the best thing about this restaurant is the location. In a large marina; It is reminiscent of a place one might find on the coast. The atmosphere inside was OK. The food, for me, was just mediocre. I had the fish and chips with fried shrimp add-on. The fish seemed frozen. I don't even know what kind they were. I had assumed cod, but I think it was probably tilapia. The shrimp were just OK. The fries were, you know, fries, good but nothing special. The coleslaw was a mess, drenched in a mayo swamp floating around on the plate; it was bland and tasteless. My brother ordered a grilled fish. He asked the waitress what kind it was, and she said tilapia. The restaurant isn't wildly expensive, but it is more than double what one would pay at Capt D's for a better meal. I was very disappointed.. read more

This restaurant is in the marina, so you can arrive by your boat for a meal. It will be worth it. The restaurant is on the second floor with both inside and outside dining. Our service was quick and courteous. We had the in-house BBQ plate which was well done with a good smoked flavor. The shrimp skewer was very good, too. Love to take a trip on our boat to this marina from Pickwick! We tie up our boat on their dock and go in for one of the best burgers around. We have gotten the blues burger, pimento burger, brisket burger, ribeye flat, buffalo ranch flat (my husband's personal favorite), strawberry vinaigrette salad with chicken, fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, fish and chips, fried pickles and crab and shrimp dip. Everyone we have taken here loves this place. We haven't had anything that isn't really yummy. I enjoy the atmosphere and the wait staff is super friendly. Food was half decent but not the great menu of a real Stanfield's. They should drop the Stanfield's from their name so as not to disappoint those who might expect the same quality and menu. The food is good and always fresh. My favorite is the fried shrimp. 4 stars due to normally having to wait a long time (a good sign the food is good). I always enjoy walking on the deck or sitting by the river while we wait. Also, the inside of the restaurant always smells fishy to me. Maybe because there is a hole in the floor that goes straight to the river? Either way, it hasn't stopped me from eating there. read more

We came on a Friday night around 7:30 pm and were told it would be an hour and a half wait. The place was super busy and we had no issues about the wait. There are sidewalks, swing benches, and even a kids park right nearby so the wait flew by. The views are beautiful. Our server Foster was really friendly and attentive even with how busy it was. We got the blackened fish and shrimp flat and they were delicious. We will definitely be back for lunch so we can try and sit outside and try some other items on the menu. read more

I absolutely love having lunch or dinner on the water and I'm glad I discovered this place while traveling down the Natchez Trace. We pulled into Stanfield's around lunch time and was lucky to get a seat outside to watch all the boats in the marina. I ordered buffalo corkscrew shrimp and cheese fries and the food was excellent. Pros: The restaurant was over the water and had a GREAT ambiance. The pricing is as good as it gets, I was surprised at low my bill was. I got a half order of raw oysters and a half pound of boiled shrimp. Whoever shucked the oysters needs to stay and never leave, because they were cleaned and shucked to perfection. The shrimp tasted absolutely phenomenal, I couldn't finish them after two beers and the oysters! Cons: It took a while to place my order and to pay my bill. First time visit to this place. The food was good, unfortunately the service didn't match. There were four people in our party and when the food came....my dinner wasn't right.and had to go back. When it arrived the 2nd time, it still wasn't right. Finally it arrived correct when the rest of our company was half done with their meal. We also had to ask for eating utensils!!!! When I requested a reduction in our bill for the problems, we received a $3.20 credit!!! Seriously, a credit of 3 bucks. I guess they do not care if people leave satisfied!! read more
