NY strip
Selena L.

George's is a must try if you are in the Shoals. We went there for dinner and it was great. We were seated quickly and had a nice corner table. I had the grilled shrimp with a baked potato and a salad. My husband had the NY strip with a baked potato and salad. The food is a little bit pricey, but in my opinion, it's worth it. The quality of food and service was top notch. We made reservations and we were glad we did. We got there pretty early about 5:15 PM and it worked perfect for us. It began getting really busy after that. We will back back.

Prime Rib

Dined alone at the bar but never felt that way. Scott and his wife made me feel very welcome and the service was great. Scott recommended his favorite, Prime Rib blackened and seared with a baked potato. Had the house made Roka blue cheese dressing on my house salad. The meal did not disappoint, cooked perfectly, tender and tasty. Fun atmosphere in the bar area made the experience complete. Could see the expert chef grilling on the wood fired grill from my seat. I can't wait to go back and try the blue crab claw appetizer, it looked delicious. Will surely be back soon.

Filet Mignon (Rare)

Incredibly beautiful location, friendly, accommodating staff and the best Filet mignon I've ever seen or eaten. As i understand the same chef has been in the kitchen 50+ years and it shows. Everything from the Wine Menu to the Greek Salad all just perfectly executed. Made for a perfect evening to propose. Would recommend to anyone.

Double Delight with the 8oz ribeye

Went here for mine and my girlfriends anniversary and had a fantastic experience. The first thing you notice about George's is the atmosphere. The restaurant itself is very nice and well put together and is able to feel welcoming while also upscale. The salad was fine but they were gonna charge me extra for cucumber which doesn't make much sense. Other than this though it was a good salad The double delight was in fact a double delight. I ordered the steak medium and it was cooked to perfection. The steak was incredibly juicy and was also seasoned very well. The shrimp were huge and were crisp but not too oily. This is some of the best fried shrimp that I have had period. The potato as well was very good. All in all I would definitely return. It is a bit pricey but you don't feel like you are overpaying.

Double delight my wife's favorite!!

Streak was average, Brussel Sprouts and Salad Dressing were solid. Bartender wasn't super warm. Other patrons were welcoming.

Excellent service. Clean restaurant. Fried shrimp good for North Alabama. Menu prices are on the high side but you get what you pay for.

Ray's At The Bank - Cute holiday table decor

Ray's At The Bank

(50 reviews)

$$

Had been waiting for the perfect time to eat at Ray's at the Bank. Checked their website to see if…read morereservations were required due to it being Valentine's weekend with nothing posted that reservations were required. Waited an hour for them to open so we would be sure to get seated only to be turned away at the door because we did not have a reservation. Poor management!! We live over an hour away and did not get to experience their wonderful menu that was planned. Sadly disappointed and do not think we will return to give them an opportunity. I hope that no other couple had this experience there. I would have gladly made a reservation had it been posted on their website!!!

My husband saw this restaurant, about a mile from our hotel (Hampton Inn and Suites). I didn't…read morereview it as I was happy to let my husband choose for once. This is a quaint little restaurant that was nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday. We chose our table and were attended to immediately. There were two other tables of 5 and 4 customers when we arrived around 1:30 pm. I noticed they close at 3 and open again at 5 pm. The special of the day was red beans and rice with andouille sausage served with corn bread which my husband ordered. I was surprised because I was pretty sure he chose this restaurant because it had the word "ribs" on the menu. He said his beans and rice were a little bland and his cornbread was average. I tasted it and have to agree it could use more seasoning. I ordered the brisket platter which included two sides. I ordered cornbread salad and macaroni salad. The brisket was delicious served baked as two types of sauce were offered-red and yellow (mustard). I have to say I liked my brisket without the sauce. A slice of Texas toast was also on the platter. I offered some of the brisket and the toast to my husband so I can't comment on the buttered toast. I chose the cornbread salad because I had never heard of it. It was interesting. It was a cold salad that included crumbled cornbread, diced celery, onion, green pepper, corn, and I think pimento binded together with a light dressing and served in a scoop. The macaroni salad was plain ole southern elbow macaroni with a tangy mayo based dressing. Both salads were tasty and I enjoyed them. Good food but nothing that says I would drive out of the way to come here. Our server was working alone and was efficient as she waited the 3 tables, including serving wine and drinks from the bar. We took a pint of their smoked pimento cheese with us and had some of it for dinner with some sausage and crackers. It was tasty. We didn't get dessert here but noticed a bakery across the street that was calling our name..
