The tables were not cleaned off and there were at least 6 tables and 3 of those tables stayed dirty the entire time we were there. Which we sat at the bar (figuring we would get a little faster service, NOT) so we sat down and after a long few minutes, the waitress came over and asked us what would you have, I said 2 menus, Please and she left came back a few minutes later and I ordered A Dozen grilled oysters grilled, my girlfriend ordered a cup of gumbo and the grilled shrimp, the grilled oysters (cajon style) were the worst "Cajun" that I had ever tasted and I have had it all over Louisiana. Then when I got my grilled shrimp w/fries and Cole slaw, it was a baked potato, and I never send anything back to the kitchen, anyway the Gumbo was flavorless all was mush except for the shrimp and that was like eating rubber. Bad service, I only tipped10%, bad food and a nasty place, I will never be back

The service was very slow even though it was not crowded. I was surprised that the prices were listed as Market Price. So I am not sure how they decide what to charge per day. My daughter ordered prime rib. It was very dry and more fat than meat. My husband also ordered prime rib and his was the same way. I ordered Fries with my steak and they were so well done that it was like eating potato chips. I ask for new ones. My steak which I ordered Medium Well was more charcoal than not. The total meal was disappointing, then I got the bill. The prime Rib was $65 and the chopped steak was $32. My bill was $200 and I could have gotten better food at Outback. I am not sure what has happened, but it has become very obvious that the owner is using cheaper ingredients but continues to raise the price. I would encourage people to not waste your money. I hope they listen to their customers and make some changes! Price per person

But the main reason you go to a restaurant on the river is shrimp, right? Who doesn't love shrimp right out of the river? I don't know if that's even a thing, but I was in the mood for shrimp and I thought I'd turn pink like a flamingo from the amount of shrimp I started with the Shrimp Cocktail which was a generous portion of shrimp expertly placed on the rim of a cocktail glass. The Shrimp Happens was a hodgepodge of fried and grilled shrimp and it was also amazing, although a bit too much fried for me. The atmosphere was a bit on the dirty hole in the wall side. And like most people, I love a good hole-in-the-wall, but the food has to back it up. The food was good, but not outstanding to call it a hole in the wall. I also love the Fire Exit!

Usually the food is hot and fresh but there are some problems. The bad - The restaurants location is not the best as the parking lot is hazardous. My wife is handicapped and because she's wheelchair-bound it's dangerous to attempt to get into the restaurant. The parking lot has not been repaved and has several cracks in the pavement and is uneven in several places. Also when we did get it to go order after waiting about 30 minutes to get it, I believe it was forgot in the kitchen, and rather than remaking it they just sent it out to us. I did complain about it however we got no reply for management or from swamp johns about our complaint. I noticed there are some responses for management when you get a good report, which there are many good things to say about Swamp John's, but when there is a problem it's good to know that is also addressed and responded to and that you're not forgotten. On this occasion the dinner was a waste and yet the complaint went unanswered. I would definitely go back because I know the one time we did get cold food it was not typical but there are some things that could be improved such as the parking lot and responding to customer complaints when there is a problem.
