This was our first time and we were in town for a little while and decided to go here because it appeared to be a well known spot. We were a family of 5. Our wait was 45 mins which was reasonable. We were seated downstairs; it was extremely hot inside. Not sure if they are having issues with air, but very uncomfortable. Our waiter was sweet and did her best in the circumstances. There was a large party behind us with around 7 small kids all seating behind our table. They were throwing crab claw shells and food as well as screaming to the top of their lungs. The kids were even flipping out of their chairs. It was ridiculous. We decided we chose the wrong place for dinner. We were hot and annoyed. My husband gave me money for the food and literally walked out. My father in law, myself and the kids ate our food and just left after we paid. Despite the horrible air situation and unruly kids behind us, we made sure to tip our waitress. She was the only positive experience. The food was mediocre. read more

I had the blackened mahi-mahi and the one side were fries. In my opinion the fries hit the plate the same time the fish does. But I can't say that actually happened. As the fish was cold but not as much as the fries were. One small bite of a French fry and I knew the fish was gonna be cold too. You know how I knew the waitress knew it was cold not once did she come and ask how everything was, she knew how it was. The fish was on one tablespoon of dirty rice and the rest of the plate was French fries. One look at our plates any wait staff would've been able to tell something was wrong. I had enough fries on my plate to feed three people at least and as cold as could be. The cook should be embarrassed and the waitress should've been apologetic. Neither I'm sure were. Great place to grab a bite of lunch while visiting the local famous recording studios. We had a great hamburger and the service was phenomenal. Weather was beautiful so we sat outside. Nice views of the water and the color changes in the trees for October were beautiful. read more

The dinning experience was really awful. Slow service, cold food, took forever to get utensils, blackened seasoning just taste like way to much salt. Corn on the Cobb was cooked until the kernels were swiveling. Out of our table of seven only one person said their food was ok but the rest agreed theirs was really terrible. We got the pimento burger and I didn't have any pimento on my half of sandwich. The burgers was frozen, not fresh patties and it was over cooked the french fries were bag not fresh. The shrimp crab dip was excellent. The pineapple upside down cake was extremely small. The waitress was overworkeddo many customers so few staff. My waitress was very friendly and sweet. We went back at the first of the summer and was very disappointed. First of all, they are not Stanfield's anymore and haven't been for the last almost 3 years now. The service was good but the food was not what it used to be. Haven't been back since and usually go there several times when it is open during season. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally got the opportunity. The restaurant is located on the river so it does provide some ambience and scenery. There is both indoors and outdoors dining, I sat at the inside bar for dinner. They have a full bar, craft beer selections are very limited as they are mostly serving cheap, domestic swill. I asked the bartender what entrée was one of the more popular and she said that the burgers were great and that "Shrimp Happens" was also popular. I ordered the Shrimp Happens and it was fine, but basically a fried shrimp basket with one grilled shrimp skewer. Also comes with two hush puppies, which were chalk dry and tasteless, and thimble of coleslaw. The coleslaw was pretty good for the two bites that was served. I also ordered a side of their potato salad, this was good but a little overly seasoned. I got a slice to-go of the recommended Keylime pie. When I had it later in the evening, mush to my disappointment, it was absolutely horrible! It had the consistency of and tasted like a softened brick of cream cheese. It was downright terrible and after two bites I threw it away. Hopefully this was just a bad batch because I don't know how they could sell one slice of this. They were well-staffed and service was good. I may give it another chance with a burger sometime, but overall this was simply a "meh" experience. read more

One of the worse restaurants I have eaten in in years. Poor service & poor quality food. When the server came over, she asked if we wanted hush puppies. She didn't say, can I get you an appetizer. In TN, many restaurants bring a few hush puppies on the house. Not here. We paid for mediocre, over cooked hush puppies $8. My husband's fried shrimp was overcooked as well. I ordered grilled salmon. The fish was passable on clumpy rice. We had to hail down a waitress to get any attention. Not worth the money! read more

This is a really cool restaurant. We waited just over an hour to get in on a Friday night, and it was worth the wait. Since we arrived just after 6 I think that is normal for a good restaurant, and there is a nice park and marina to walk around and explore while you wait. They have a nice bar area, with a decent selection of draft beer, including some from the local brewery. We got the Alligator Tail appetizer, which was good. My wife got the Island Chicken and I ordered the Shrimp Happens with several different styles of shrimp. Both were excellent and we really enjoyed it. This is a great local dive bar. It is obvious that the locals are regulars. Staff is very friendly. They know their customers by name. Food was amazing. You won't leave hungry. Was very dissatisfied with the meal. We thought it was busy because of the cars around the parking lot. Those people must have been inside the boats that dock around the restaurant. We ordered hush puppies as a appetizer, but they had a strange taste and were doughy. The shrimp and the fish, neither had any type of seasoning. Tasted like deep fried oil. It was not a cheap experience, and even after we told the waiter after he asked how we liked it, he made no adjustment to the bill nor apologized. He even said, they experience different hushpuppy flavors to try to find one that people might like more than the traditional flavor. I did tell him when "we" order them, we expect the traditional flavor. It was very disappointing all around. Def won't return. read more
