I went to exchange my plate for another one because the hamburger steak was burnt. I called her to let her know I would be bringing it back to trade for a another placement. When she saw me went off on me. Told me I needed to go somewhere else if I didn't like it. Very rude and disrespectful. I would never be like that to a customer. "Just the facts, ma'am." Simple country style cooking. And I do mean simple. However the food was tasty and seemed well prepared. Perhaps the supper menu is larger, but the lunch menu barely fills one page. The country fried steak was good, and on par for this part of the country, but being a Texan, there just isn't anything like a good, true chicken friend steak. It's kinda like TexMex food outside of Texas is usually horrible. I've never understood how/why the majority of the South and elsewhere refer to it as country fried steak or cutlets. When you hear that, you can guarantee it'll not be what you're hoping if your from Texas. But I keep looking!! Overall, Chinos is good, simple and reasonably priced. They need some sound abatement though, as the dining area is loud, just due to the acoustics. read more

The REAL SCOOP!This is not a one time experience. I have eaten at this place many many times even though are many other options of restaurants. The food is always very good. The sweet tea is very good. It is served in large cups so you don't constantly need a refill. At meal times the place can get very busy. But the wait is not too long. Most of the time I'm seated in less than five minutes . Sundays after church could take 30 minutes? A lot of people are getting it to go and the food is served very quickly so the seats are open quickly. This as a sign of a good restaurant with good food. You can get the meat and vegetables and there are several choices. Or you can order off their menu. The chicken fingers are very good. Hamburger steaks are very good. I haven't tried much more than that off the menu because I love everything from the meats and vegetables menu. You're in and out of this restaurant very quickly because the food is steaming when you get there. I've never had any issues with the staff if my server is caught up doing something I just ask another server going by and they're all glad to help each other. In fact, just talking about it, I think I'll go eat there today. read more

I really wish I could give a better review, but I cannot. The food is mediocre at best and that's on a good day. The problem I have with it is more operational than taste of the food. The staff is not too friendly at all and communication with the customer is horrible. On my last visit the server waited until she brought out my plate of food to tell me that the side order that I wanted most was out and what did I want to replace it with. To me this is something I should have known right away and not when the other items arrived. Another problem I have is that chino's does not inform you that there is an upcharge for using a credit card to pay if you use plastic to pay they will increase your bill by at least a dollar or more, they say to pay for processing and that the person that provides their device that allows them to use charge cards is the reason. I would understand if this was made known but waiting till a person pays for it is not a time to tell someone about it. All in all I do not expect to make a return trip. read more

My dad went to eat at this restaurant. He has a service dog. Violating ADA and federal law, he was refused service. They refused service to a disabled veteran due to his medical equipment, because, yes, a service dog is considered medical equipment. Not only that, they were rude and uncompassionate towards him, threatening to call the police. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. read more

Finally went tonight. Didn't realize they were a meat and three until recently. We have very few of those around here now. Here is my honest appraisal. scale 1 to 10 Mashed Potatoes and Gravy: 7.4 Very solid. Potatoes were a little lumpier than I would like but they had good flavor and the gravy was phenomenal. Fried Okra: 8.6 Very very good. Especially considering okra is out of season. Mexican Cornbread: 6.9 Could be a little moister, but it does pack some sneaking heat. Not unbearable but just right. It's tasty but I'd like it a little moister. Cole Slaw: 9.7 I am a big fan of cole slaw, but it is the one thing that most restaurants get terribly wrong. They don't. It is fantastic. I would go there and just order this if possible. It is so good. Country fried steak with onions and gravy: 8.2 Very solid. White gravy has a great flavor with just enough pepper, and the breading on the steak is very tasty. Overall 8.16. Verdict. Very satisfied. Will go back again. Great food for a great price. Some is a little salty, but that is to be expected from "soul food." You won't be disappointed here. read more

Chino's Cafe On the Go I went to Chino's for the first and last time Friday for lunch with a friend. Our meals were delicious BUT! I ordered cobbler with no ice cream for dessert. The server brought it with ice cream. She showed me where she wrote down the order with NO ice cream, but apparently someone in the kitchen added ice cream. She knew I was displeased, but she didn't offer to take it back. She did say, "I won't charge you for the ice cream." A few minutes later, after most of my cobbler was gone, the hostess came over with a bowl with no ice cream. I told her I didn't need it. She said, "Well, since you've eaten the one with ice cream, we will have to charge you for ice cream." I told her no way! I didn't eat the ice cream; it was melting in my bowl. And I didn't order ice cream, and I'm not paying for ice cream. The server then came back and said, "They will make me pay for the ice cream." I told her that wasn't fair, and I left extra tip. She placed the order correctly; the kitchen messed it up. Sure enough, the owner said the server would have to pay for the ice cream. So I asked to speak to the owner. After a few minutes, she came from the kitchen. I explained that I didn't order ice cream, and the server placed my order correctly. She said, "but we brought you some without ice cream. Thank you for your complaint." I explained it was well after the fact. I asked her how it made any sense to charge the server for a mistake made by the kitchen. She responded "I don't have to explain myself to you. I am busy and have things to do in the kitchen. Thank you for your complaint." And she walked off. I will not choose to patronize any establishment that treats guests AND staff the way this owner does. And it's a shame, because the food was really good. read more

This restaurant is just recently opened - it is across florence blvd, from the Walmart market. Their specialty appears to be Tacos - but they also do a meat and two or a meat and three. Somewhat soul food in nature. It's a small place and mostly takeout. But it is very good and very inexpensive. I don't think many people know about it. You have to pay attention and look closely for it. But it is recommended! read more

Stopped by here on a whim to get some take away. It was a meat & 3 style restaurant. Everything we got was delicious. We had chicken and dumplings, a vegetable plate, and cat fish meal. Fantastic prices and great service. Would absolutely go there again! Greens were fantastic! read more
