For a $26.98 bill before tax--$$28.69 after tax, bill wanted a tip of $10.04-35% tip and tipping on tax. Nothing on the bill stated that that tip was before or after tax. In my world a tip on a bill of $26.98 would be $4.05 for 15% or $5.40 for 20%, so essentially you were asking for over a 40% tip. Shame on you. And double shame that it didn't state that that included tax on the bill I was given. Service was poor and the waitress didn't even know what salad dressings were available and the salad bowl was half full. To the Owner: how would you feel if that happened to you? I love the fact that they have live music here, thanks for that! My personal experience, and the conscences from any who is not a "regular" is that you have to wait a very long time for service. My most recent experience was patently standing at the bar for a drink, and watching several people walk-up around me and being served instantly. This has been my experience every time I have been there, and is honestly why I rarely attend shows at this venue. Aside from that, again, I love the fact that they have live music and promote that experience in the area! read more

I'm from Texas and even I really enjoyed their pulled pork. It was melt in your mouth amazing. FloBama has a large stage for music, plenty of TV's and seating and a great bar. This is your typical sports bar that if college wasn't out for the summer would probably be packed with lots of University of Alabama students since the off-shoot campus is within walking distance. Nonetheless the crowd was still 20-30 somethings the night we came. My friend and I came on a weekend to watch some bands who were performing for the WC Handy Music festival and we had a good time. The place was packed with people. They have a massive menu with plenty of bar food options. On the nights they get busy it can be difficult to get draft beer so to be safe just order bottled beer. read more

This review is for the chips that Flobama made for the Salsa food competition. Those were the best chips at the place. I did not try there salsa but my wife said it was good. This place is hit or miss. Hit is the fact that they get great bands in here pretty much every night they're open. And the bartending staff on MOST nights is great, especially Jedi and Chelsea. But the big miss is the bartender who seems to work on Tuesday nights. She's an older blonde woman who literally has the worst attitude of any bartender I've met in my entire life. I've been served by her on two different Tuesday nights. She is rude beyond belief. She acts like it's a hassle every time you want to order anything, even a beer. If you dare to ask for a cocktail she doesn't know how to make, she just says "NO" and walks away. I've never seen her so much as smile at a customer. Can't believe she has a job here or anywhere. She must be related to the owners. Stay away on tuesdays for sure. And if you see her working the bar on any other night, leave and take your business elsewhere. read more

Great venue. But hands down... the nastiest nachos I've ever eaten. Like throw up in your mouth bad: cold liquid "cheese" on stale chips with slimy bits of chicken and wet tomatoes and lettuce. It's going to take me a while to get over it... go and listen to music. But don't eat there. Oh we had wings too. Mediocre. It's not that hard to make decent nachos. Scale 0 to 5 Atmosphere: 5 Just beautiful. I love what they did with this place. The tables all appear to be re purposed wood and the table stands are actually old barrels. The bathrooms are nice, although one of the urinals in the mens restroom has been out of order for what seems like forever now and some of the sink nozzles have been ripped off. They have two pools tables nestled in the back, out of the way of traffic, which is the best place for them. They have the premiere sound stage in the shoals, but took them awhile to realize how to utilize it. I think turning down the Doc Daily and Alabama Shakes show then it selling out in Sheffield kind of opened their eyes to the local music scene. Beer: 3.0 Their tap selection is very similar to OTR and at this present time, may be the exact same. Although I think they may have Angry Orchard while OTR has Magic Hat. But their bottled selection is not as extensive. For the most part, it is run of the mill crap. They do offer Sam Adams Boston Lager and that is usually my go to here. Food: 4.0 The food is pretty good. Some things I have had here are pretty standard and nothing to write home about -- baked potato, potato salad, polish dog, cheese sticks, but they have some items that are a pleasant surprise. Their wraps are delicious and they have a wonderful white sauce to put on them. Their mustard slaw is probably the best I have ever had which makes their slightly above average polish dog and their pretty good hotdog take on a whole new meaning. Service: 1.6 Unfortunately this is where they lose me. I would even have their rating lower if it were not for their manager. I assume he is still there. I think his name is Josh. He has went out of his way to appease some of my complaints in the past. But I still seem to get the same inattentive service every time I go in there, whether there be 100 customers or 4. The waitresses generally seem to have very little knowledge of the food or drinks and I generally find myself asking questions, then waiting a good 10 minutes or so while they go find the answer. Generally these are questions you would expect your wait staff to know. Overall: Really neat decor and building. Come for the atmosphere, leave for the service. read more

Visited my first time here on Saturday night. Nice looking club as you come in. Atmosphere: it was a 5, but then after the band played for 20 minutes, they left and didnt return for an hour, so it was dead, so i have to drop this to a 2. Food. 5. It was delicious. The wings were great and the rest of the meal was great. Service. I have to give this a 1 because that is the lowest score allowed. I wasn't in a hurry with my meal, but server returns to the table were very few and far between. After waiting for an extended period of time, I finally had to go run down a server in another section to order our food. I was really looking forward to a fun night of band and food, but we spent the evening staring at a empty stage and sitting there hoping our server would return. I cant say I'd choose to return. read more

My wife and I went here today to have lunch. We were seated and given our menus. We sat there for 15 to 20 minutes and no server bothered to come take our order. 3 waitresses just walked by our table and I guess they didn't hear me when I asked who was our server. A guy delivered some food to a table next to ours, walked by us and started to clear another table by us. I asked him if we were in his station to which I got no reply. We got up, took the menus to the hostess and said I guess nobody wants to wait on us. There was no reply and I don't think she gave a flying flip. This was about 1:15 pm today. We have eaten here before and the food was very good. We probably won't be coming back. We went across the street to Rosie's Cantina were seated right away, within a minute or server took our drink order, took our food order and we had a fabulous lunch. FloBama is always a hit or miss for me. I like the bar for the most part. The staff is always friendly and the music is usually good, it's the clientele that make it iffy. There's almost always some type of fight or aggressive argument between patrons. I'm not sure if it's because they're being over served or if it's just the type of people that frequent the place but it's almost always a guaranteed occurrence on a weekend night. I have to give it to the security though because they're always right on top of it. I've only had the food once or twice and that's just been grabbing a bite or two off of a friend's plate. It's pretty good and they kitchen is open fairly late which is great for Florence. I would recommend the BBQ nachos. I also like that they have a couple of pool tables in the back. All in all, it's your typical country bar in a small Southern town. read more

If I call in an order, then I shouldn't have to stand around and wait for any sign of an employee to come take my money, when our food is sitting on the counter bagged up and waiting on us, getting cold. And they weren't busy at all. There was one other customer in there. They were also waiting on an employee to show up. I mean it's like they only have one person working there at a time. The food isn't the greatest. I don't recommend the Stuffed BBQ potato. It's nasty. You might as well go across the road to 306 BBQ. The whole flobama food experience is trash. Go somewhere else! Great atmosphere! Nice stage! Had a GREAT GUY serving us at lunch last friday during Handy Festival! We had yummy pork bbq sandwiches and fries. We listened to a very good blues guitarist while dining. We liked it so much we came back the next day for a very good baked bbq chicken platter. Our waitress was a little dingy but floor manager took over and served us up very nicely! Sadly no music at Saturday lunch. read more

my friends and i ate here last night, and it was one of the worst experiences i've had at a restaurant. a friend and i ordered the wings, and after eating one bite we sent them back. they were dry and they tasted like they were rubbed on the bottom of a fire place. the chicken finger salad i got instead made me sick to my stomach. also, their "famous bbq sauce" was awful. our waitress was unreasonably rude, and the service was slow and unprofessional. i was charged $3 for a glass of tea, and i never got a refill. i will not be eating here again, and i advise anyone who is thinking about eating there to save their time and money and eat somewhere else. read more

I love FloBama and go there all the time. I've never had a problem before last night. The bouncers and employees are always so nice and welcoming until last night. The bouncer was one I had never seen before and we were there for my birthday. Like I said I go all the time, but for some reason the bouncer would not let me in and tried to stick his hands in my wallet and purse because he thought I was trying to hide another ID?! I am disgusted and disappointed that they would hire someone that would violate a person like that, especially one who regularly gives the bar business. After that he threw the ID in my face and pushed our whole group out of the bar. Flobama used to be my favorite bar but I will NOT be back after what happened last night. read more
