We had an amazing week of peace & quiet. We enjoyed all the wildlife that visited throughout our stay from squirrels to deer, all the way to herds of elk. Check-in was nice & smooth, all the Staff was super friendly & helpful. I told them that I liked to photograph wildlife and they were kind enough to come knock on the door when some huge Bull Elk came in the area. Our Unit was clean, plenty of space, comfortable furniture, stocked with what we needed, and everything worked. We especially loved the Fireplace as it got cool on the rainy day. We loved the area, a nice park next door, within walking distance with a pond & a playground for kids. Small town (Stallion Springs) has a gas-station with a few eateries. Tehachapi is a bigger town (about 30 mins away). Make sure to stop at Visitor Center as it will give you plenty of ideas of things to do & where to eat. If you are looking for new & fancy with stuff like a pool or attached restaurants this is not the spot for you. If you want a great week of quiet & chances to see wildlife, enjoy a very relaxing area with plenty of friendly people then this is the place for you !!! So this place has always been on my husband's bucket list to visit. So I made it happen. It is a small timeshare resort in the Tehachapi Mountains off of highway 58. I can't even remember how we initially found this place, but I can tell you it's been great. It's located in the small community of stallion springs. To get to the resort you go through a really cool little town with a covered bridge. The resort gives me early 90's vibes which is totally okay with me and the Mr. We enjoy a throw back. We have a one bedroom with a jacuzzi tub and a nice fireplace. We have two tv's one in the living room and one in the bedroom. There is a nice balcony with amazing views of the little town lit up at night. We had a room off of the main road which was okay because only about 2 cars pass every three or four hours. Everyone in the office is extremely nice. There's Alicia, Karina, and Martha. All were very helpful and friendly. Whatever we needed they provided. They are currently painting the outside of the buildings so there was a little construction action. All those workers were super friendly as well. My husband and I will definitely be back, this place helps you connect with nature and enjoy the simple things. read more

Been staying here since 2016 for our annual reunion. This year they required a sizeable deposite per room up front months in advance. We told them we would call back if we decide to book our stay woth them. We never called back as we decided to book our stay elsewhere. They just tried to charge our card for a cancelation fee for rooms we never booked. Whan we called the lady who answered was very rude and amd told us its not her problem and she's just doing what she was instructed. Then told us its not her problem and for us to call on Monday and then hung up on us. Completely unprofessional. Will not be booking here ever again and will let all of our people know not to book here either. read more

We've been time share owners for about 15 years. Stallion Springs is our home resort. Last October, though, it was our first time staying here. We had always exchanged our weekly stay every year for another location. Got to say that we really enjoyed our stay at the resort. Some family members joined my wife and I for a couple of days. Everyone had a very relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. As others mentioned, there is not a lot to do in the area. What there is to see and do, can be done in a couple of days. So I understand how folks who are staying here for 1 week could get bored. For my wife and I, though, it was just what we needed. We were not bored at all. Yes, the rooms could use some refreshing because they are a bit outdated. We've been to many other properties, and Stallion Springs is looking much older in comparison to the others. Still, everything worked and everything was clean!! The staff was helpful and friendly. Do wish we could break up our week so we could come here 2 days at a time instead of one full week every year. Regardless, we will be back. Stallion Springs is a terrific resort to go in order to escape and rejuvenate from our busy lives. read more

We totally enjoyed our stay.We had a few small issues.The dishwasher didn't work at first because of the rubber tubbing around the door but it was an easy fix and we were able to fix it ourselves.There were also a lot of cobwebs in the upper corners of the mirrors above the fireplace.Once again,easy fix.We wiped them down ourselves. The town of Tehachapi was really fun and we found lots of things to do. We definitely would come back and stay again. read more

We have been coming here for years and we finally became an owner about five years ago. It's one of the best purchases we've ever made. We love coming here and a week is just not enough. It's so pretty and peaceful. Often, the only noise you'll hear is all the wildlife that is abundant in the area. (We're talking deer, elk, bob cats, hawks and more). The scenery is just breathtaking and beautiful and we love sitting on the patio and taking it all in, especially those views of the mountains, pond, fields and flowers in the spring. We love coming here at all times of the year because you can actually experience the four seasons. The units themselves are open, spacious and well-equipped. There are high ceilings, lots of windows and open floorplans. The two-bedroom units even have two bathrooms. The kitchens are small, but large enough and well-equipped. I've cooked full-course meals here with no problems. There are also BBQs in the common areas, which are also very pretty. The beds are extra comfortable and extra large. We also love the fact that there are washers and dryers in every unit. The resort also has volleyball courts, horseshoes and a Jacuzzi. There is nothing greater than sitting in that Jacuzzi at night time gazing at all the stars. I see where people complain that there is nothing to do here, but that's not why you come to Stallion Springs. Plus, there is lots to do as long as you like hiking, biking, fishing and relaxing. There are lots of wineries nearby and the historic town of Tehachapi is just 15 miles away. There are also places to eat and shop in the little town of Stallion Springs. We also can't say enough good things about the staff. Alicia and her team are so warm and welcoming. They will try and accommodate early check-ins and answer all your questions. They even sent the handyman right over when were having trouble with the lamps and TV. We just love this place and highly recommend it, especially for people in LA and OC Counties that want to get away from the noise, crowds and congestion. I see where some people were complaining that the resort is shabby and so forth, but we think it's well maintained and people like that are probably better off staying at the Four Seasons for triple the price. read more

The area, as it's at a slightly higher elevation, has cool weather: not too hot, not too cold. It is filled with greenery and wildlife. Critters like rabbits, salamanders, lizards, birds, chipmunks, squirrels and even deer liven up the place and bring you back to the nature that surrounds you. Like what most people comment on, the kitchens are small, but are well stocked with utensils, glasses, cups, plates, pans, and other kitchen needs. Everything runs smoothly. Since the cottages are more on the rustic side, it seems like the carpets have been here for awhile, so there could be a slight musty smell upon entering. High ceiling in the family sitting area and the entire place has lots of outlets, including floor outlets. - P A R K I N G - Each cottage has designated parking spots. Now this is something I really appreciate because then people don't have to "fight" for close parking spots. Not to mention there are a good amount of parking spaces for guests too. - S T A F F / S E R V I C E - Service was okay and nothing to complain about. I didn't interact with the staff, so I don't have much to say. - L O D G I N G R E V I E W - This place can be a tad difficult to get to. If you follow the instructions that they provide, you should be fine. Don't doubt those instructions! Check-in is all the way down towards the left upon driving through the entrance; you'll see the "Vacation Owner" sign at the front office area. The property has about 23 cottages in total; It also has a golf course, jacuzzi, lake, ice machine, and staff laundry room. The original cottage we were supposed to get had issues, so the staff moved us to another cottage: 402 to be exact. Each cottage has their very own patio of the view that encircles the property. Something that we all noticed was that the entire cottage is thoroughly cleaned. There was very little to no dust on top of appliances, blinds, cabinets, mirrors, bed frames, etc. - P R I C E - I'm not entirely sure what the cost is because my parents used their timeshare points as we only stayed on night. All I am aware of is that there is a $50 cleaning service fee. - C O M M E N T S - 1. Follow the map they provide to get to the property. 2. I would try to avoid getting to and leaving from this place near night time as it would incredibly dark. There are no lamp posts, so getting to and leaving from this place would prove to be very difficult! 3. Wifi can be tricky. I was not able to connect on my phone, but my parents had no problems. It is a little on the slow side too. 4. It is highly suggested to go out and purchase some groceries (Albertsons) BEFORE arrival as grocery stores and supermarkets are not close by if you prefer to do your own cooking. Otherwise, there are a few restaurants and bakeries in town. 5. Something to keep in mind is that check-out time is 10:00am. 6. My only complaint is that the bed I happened to sleep on has a dip in the middle, which left no support for my lower back. - R A T I N G - 4/5 I enjoyed the peacefulness of the area. We absolutely love this resort! It's our home away from home. We are not actual vacation owners with this resort we are able to use our time share points through RCI to stay there, yet they always remember us anyway! I want to say a special thank you to Karina who is so helpful and always happy and willing to stop and pay special attention to every guest and always willing to recommend all the best dine in and take out restaurants, local indoor and outdoor entertainment, shopping and we feel more like we are at a quaint bed and breakfast than in a hotel/resort. The condos are gorgeous, clean, and the furniture and beds and linens are very comfortable and soft, really nice quality. We love it there and recommend it to people who are looking for peace and quiet tranquility in nature, all the way to a range of outdoor activities like fishing, biking, hiking etc. It's absolutely beautiful there, anything we have ever needed they are always so prompt and very helpful and friendly. Very nice timeshare adjacent to a golf course. Stallion Springs seems to be in the middle of nowhere however there are attractions such as wineries and an ostrich ranch nearby. Front desk staff are very friendly. The resort offers some group outings and activities such as bingo. The units are very clean and spacious. The kitchens are small but fully functional. Stayed at this resort for one week. Rooms are clean but outdated. We checked in on Friday night. Maid service on Tuesday and Thursday. You do the math. Did not leave shampoo. When I went to the office to get another bottle they wanted to charge me .50 cents. Bat or mice feces all over the porch every morning. Nothing to do at the resort - no pool or golf. Must drive to do anything but there is not much to do in the area. Definitely would not recommend. Internet service is $10.00 per week. Nickel and dime you to death. Not my kind of resort and would not recommend. read more

My fiancé & I stayed here for 5days as a little get-away! A little nervous pulling up b/c place looks a bit run down! Needs paint, more color to landscaping. Staff a bit on the blah side. Wifi a bit annoying-have to keep logging in every hr or so... Golf course closed, no pool available! Once in place however, it was very nice, clean & had all the kitchen items needed! Was very neat to see herds of deer in field behind our porch! One piece of advice I would give the owner is to have generators readily available! the electricity was turned off by the electric company our last night, so we had no electricity! thank God for the gas fireplace to keep us warm and give us light! read more

Hello, We had the opportunity to use our timeshare this Christmas at Stallion Springs Resort. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit with a living room, dining room and there's a small porch off the living room area. We were in the first unit on the right as you enter the resort #402. We really love traveling to new places and exploring unknown territory. The area around the resort is a sprawling desert with ranches and homes and the single biggest facility closest to the resort is the state prison. There's not much here. We visited the Ostrich Farm and the Souza Family Winery. Apart from that, there's a few local places to eat. We mostly ate in Tehachapi. We had breakfast one day at The Red Apple in Tehachapi which was awesome! Delicious food, great service and huge portions!!! We met the current owners who were very hospitable. I think tonight we'll try Red House BBQ just across the street from The Red apple. The unit and resort itself, while spacious and comfortable, have much to be desired for. We experienced several problems with our unit. 1) Although we read the past reviews before hand about the tiny kitchen sink, we still thought we could cook just fine. I suggested we mainly eat out but my husband likes to cook in so we stopped at the grocery store and loaded up on dinner foods before arriving at the resort. My husband joked when he got inside the unit saying, "Somebody stole our kitchen sink!" I'm a designer and I think the problem with the resort in this regard is marketing honesty. The resort should state that each unit has a "Kitchenette, not a full kitchen." Even if there is a microwave, oven, fridge, etc...the thing to note here that's different than all the other Gold Crown resorts that we've stayed in is that everything is miniature. The sink is so small that you cannot fit an 8" dinner plate in the sink laying down. When trying to wash any dishes by hand (we did use the dishwasher but some dishes don't fit in there so we had to wash many by hand) water splatters all over the stove top because it is literally connected to the edge of the sink with no counter top space in between. 2) Another major downfall (seeing as there's not much here) is a lack of activities offered by the resort itself. During our stay, two activities were offered...a trip to the Souza Family Winery which we did and Bingo offered at 3pm on Wednesday. We were looking forward to bingo but when we called to double check on the time, the front desk ladies told us that they cancelled bingo because of a lack of interest of the residents. We told them that we were looking forward to coming and they said that they called around and not enough people were coming. We told them that we never got a call and they refuted that even still, we should've signed up in advance. Let me just say that that is just laziness on the part of the resort. Sign-up or no sign-up, the activity should be available to all. If and when people do not show up to participate, then it is understandable to cancel but why cancel before hand on account of an initial "lack of interest"? Why not just proceed forward anyway? Do they just not want to take time to facilitate the activity. There are 5 people in our family so we should've insisted that they just facilitate it for us. I'm just agitated that it seems as though they were lying about calling the units in advance because they definitely didn't call ours...neither was there a message on our machine. In any case, we were forced to find something else to do. However, there should be something going on most days of the week to peak interest of the residents rain or shine (meaning, the event is held and open to all regardless of sign-ups). 3) We also noticed that the older front desk lady is particularly drab. We are going to review this resort with RCI and recommend that it be a bronze or maybe silver level resort at best. It is definitely...100%, not a gold crown. If you're looking for a fun-filled retreat location timeshare in California, we highly recommend Mountain Retreat in Arnold. The units are very large, sleeping at least 6-8. They have an indoor pool and jacuzzi with a waterfall, activities (no sign-ups needed) offered most nights of the week, ample games and movies to rent plus more in the units, racquetball indoor, ice cream socials, etc. While there's not much to do in Arnold either, the resort takes care to offer residents a great experience. Overview... Resort Pluses: Tv's work great and are large, nice beautiful fireplace, spacious unit, nice timeshare layout, pack n play and high chairs were decent for our baby, heating, comforters and blackout curtains were fantastic for cold weather. Resort Minuses: Very very tiny kitchen sink, miniature stove and oven, essentially no kitchen sink to use at all, no cabinets to use in the kitchen, staff that are not very happy in their presentation, resort desperately lacks creative activities. read more

Amazing, super restful and full of peace and nature. It was our first time and didn't know what to expect here, and really turned out to be just great for our weekend getaway. We had 2 younger kids and 2 teens and we all had such a nice time. We enjoyed some fishing, hiking, museums, wine tastings, antique shopping, strawberry picking in city nearby, elk and dear sightings, alpaca farm visit and even good food. There's something for everyone, and there's definitely more we wanted to do but ran out of time. Staff was friendly and helpful as can be. We'll definitely be back again! read more

Stayed here for 4 nights in spring of 2015 and loved it. We golfed 2 days and saw Elk and deer on the course, visited the Tehachapi Loop, a world famous railroad engineering marvel, visited the railroad museum in Tehachapi and the ostrich farm. Had some great meals at a few restaurants in town and a very nice dinner at the Stallion Springs Golf Resort clubhouse. Would highly recommend for a casual, fun getaway. read more

I might have a bias opinion because I actually have family in Tehachapi, it made it easier to attend a family reunion. I LOVED the space of the unit. 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, 3 TV's. We stayed with my sister, brother and mother all having their own units. My kids loved it because they were able to hang out with cousins. The place is dated, but so what? Size of space is awesome. The staff was friendly, the people in town were SUPER NICE! There are some things you have to get use to. I had to avoid a king size elk in the middle of the road coming home at night. Tons of dear, so careful driving. The one big draw back was internet was TERRIBLE! I'm never able to get completely away from work so that was a hurdle. Also, I would've enjoyed a real fitness room. All-in-all, we'll probably be coming back in a year or so. read more

This place is disgusting, which is so disappointing because it has so much potential. It's set in a beautiful, quiet area in a nice little town. We really wanted to enjoy our time here. Unfortunately, the mice ate all our food and then the power went out indefinitely so we had to leave with no refund or reimbursement. The management went as far as to blame us for the mice saying they didn't know when housekeeping TOLD us they knew our building had mice. So not only are they disgusting, they are liars. We rolled into Stallion Springs at 10:30 pm after a long drive from the LA Basin. Though close to the town of Tehachapi, we had to use our GPS, as this is a very secluded and dark location. Despite the late hour, the on-call manager was courteous and gave us the code for the unit's lock box To our joy, we were greeted by a spacious living room with a mirrored fireplace. After a glass of Port, we retired to a wonderful master suite with superior bed and pillows--often an afterthought at many hotels. The next morning we had breakfast on a spacious deck right outside the living room! The chirping birds, scrambling squirrels, rambunctious rabbits and the cool breeze made for an otherworldly experience. We were absolutely on VACATION! A never to be forgotten 4 days! If you really want to "get away", then go to Stallion Springs. read more

I'm very disappointed about this resort. Highly NOT recommended. 1. The AC doesn't work well. It has a note at the temp control saying don't set the AC temp below 75 F otherwise the compressor will freeze. We tried to set it below 75 and it came out hot air! So we had to set it above 75 and it was not cooling at all! Imagine above 90 F indoor from 12:00 pm to 3:00 AM. When your AC is not good, fix it or replace it, not telling your guests to deal with it! 2. Water pipes in the wall make a lot of noises when when someone, including your neighbors, uses water. 3. There's a pond nearby so you should expect a lot of flies and mosquitoes. Fortunately, flyswatter is provided. 4. No swimming pools. Only an outside hot tub. 5. The resort is in the middle of nowhere in the desert. It's DRY. So dry that my heel cracked and peeled in one day. 6. You can see squirrels, hares all the time, sometimes deers too. People living nearby are quite nice. These are the reasons why it worth one star. read more

Love Tehatchapi! So much to see and do. Stop at the Visitor's Center to find great things to do. Staying at Stallion Springs Resort which is at least 15 miles from town. It is a Gold Crown RCI Resort, but I don't know how they earned that rating.The resort is very outdated but quiet, clean, and comfortable. The sheets and towels are good, and the darkening curtains work well. There is a hot tub but no pool. The beds are really good , and the rooms are large. There is a great fire place, and the heating and air conditioning work well. The bathroom faucets and tub fixtures are old. The bathrooms have carts because there are no real cabinets. Decor is outdated, bland, and lacks pizzazz. If they remodeled, the kitchen could be enlarged because the living room has a lot of wasted space. Lighting is awful. We are staying in a 2 bedroom, but it has a tiny kitchen, refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. There is a cart to hold silverware, knives, pans etc. because there is so little cupboard space or room in the kitchen. When you plug your chargers into the outlets, they fall out. Since we have been here we have been unable to get ABC or CBS at all. We got NBC one day. Cable stations seem to be working. In addition, we have had numerous crane flies annoying and scaring us. Apparently at this time of year the resort has problems with bats. Our patio was covered with bat feces, so we could not use it. read more

I am a part owner of these time shares and here is what you should know. First off the costs have gone up and up every year virtually and here is what is they spend NO money on. The beds are worn out... the couches are imbarassing for guests... the heating air must run continuously to keep up with the poor insulated buildings... the jacuzzi is considered to be unsafe water treatment, this has caused rashes on multiple friends including myself so it's unusable...The owners have sold off literally half or more of the property extras to the Woodward group and left us part owners with next to nothing included in our original deal.
