Deluxe King room
Janel L.

We needed to take a break in driving on a very busy Thanksgiving week. We arrived pretty late and all we wanted to do is sleep!! The room itself was fine. Nothing fancy at all!! The towels were very very rough and small. Overall the room was clean. Some areas of the walls need a good wipe down or fresh paint. For the price of the room I could care less. We just wanted to sleep. The bed and pillows were pretty comfortable. Check in and check out was smooth. The property had surveillance cameras all over the place. This hotel is pet friendly.

First room they checked me into.

Driving back home with my cat so we stopped here for a night because they allow pets (they charge a fee). First room I checked into had not been cleaned. I mean trash, used bedsheets and dirty bathroom. Whatever it's late I thought so I asked for another room. First inspection lifting the sheets and such everything looked *fine* obviously this is not a five star hotel so I can overlook some scuffs and how run down the place is. But at around 5 in the morning I saw a bed bug right next to my pillow. Don't stay here! I will never trust another best western, this was a horrible experience and now I have to stay longer in this town to wash all of my clothes! I am throwing out my tempur pedic pillow that I just bought. This place doesn't even deserve one star.

Bed bug bites from this hotel

There were bed bugs in my room. I got bit all over. Also, the manager was completely rude and said she wouldn't extend our stay, with a smile on her face the whole time. I tried to reason and argue for us to be able to stay and she threatened to call the cops and kick us out. I can't. I'm completely incensed. Which doesn't help us being able to stay. It was like having our hands tied behind our back while getting slapped and told that we like it. That manager deserves to get fired. And a deep reality check. This is a business. Not your home. You don't get to just run it like you feel like that morning. Edit: found out her name is Yolanda. Apparently she just sucks, according to the other reviews. WHY DOES SHE STILL WORK HERE?

This DUMP is disgusting! First, the desk clerk was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Then, When I entered my room, the horrible smell was overwhelming. I had to request that the housekeeper, who happened to be outside, spray the room. Then, as I was leaving to go eat, I heard something metallic fall to the floor inside when the door closed. When I returned I found that the "security latch" had fallen off...just by the closing of the door. I then went to use the toilet. When I opened the lid, there was urine and toilet paper in the toilet. Not only did the previous occupant not flush the toilet, but obviously housekeeping didn't clean the toilet!!! I was originally booking into the Best Western next door. I have a legitimate service dog. When I went to check in, I was told that they, "...couldn't take pets, even if it's a service dog." I was told that my reservations were for the facility next door, where pets are allowed. Obviously an ADA violation. When I woke up in the morning, discovered what looked like a large roach on the bathroom floor. When I went to retrieve my hat from a table, another fell out of it. Stay away. Stay far away.

Mattress was disgusting! 1 of 3 huge stains
trisha n.

Blood soaked mattress was so disgusting, it looked like a massacre occurred on that bed. I let the front desk know unfortunately we didn't see it until the morning which made me so sick to my stomach. She said she would let the cleaning ladies know.

Wonderful huge desk for working

From the moment we arrived, everything felt clean, comfortable, and welcoming. We loved that parking was free (huge plus during a busy travel weekend!), and the room itself was surprisingly spacious -- perfect for a family who comes with plenty of bags and snacks. The beds were comfy, the space was quiet, and we all got a great night's rest. Breakfast the next morning was also complimentary and had a solid variety of options to get us fueled up before hitting the road again. Super convenient and stress-free. Overall, a smooth and pleasant stay. If you're passing through Tehachapi or need a reliable stop for a family trip, Fairfield Inn definitely delivers!

We had scoped out the Fairfield Inn last time we drove through in May, and decided it was worth a try. We made a reservation on the drive there, as the last time I called, they didn't properly put the reservation through. We were able to get a room with two queen sized beds for comfort, and it was the handicapped room, which is often available when nothing else is. We had been warned about the $50. parking fee, which is pretty bogus, since there is ample parking there. We checked in easily at the front desk, the staff were very friendly. I was having a mobility issue, so I had to sit whenever possible and the front lobby had comfortable chairs. The front lobby was clean and spacious, but the decor was subpar. It couldn't make up its mind between desert and modernism. The color scheme was kind of 80's orange wood, with yellowy chairs and coral accents. The other oddity was that the faux fire was never lit the entire time we were there. It would have added a note of warmth to the room. A major glitch was that the key to our room would not work. This was a handicapped room, located at the very end of a loooong hallway. I sat on the floor while the hotel maid let us in with her master key. We unloaded in a large clean room, and he returned downstairs for a new key, which also did not work. We decided to stay in the room until dinner, and try another key on the way back in. I had searched YELP for restaurants, but most of the ones I would be interested in were closed on Sundays, so we asked at the front desk. The very helpful staff suggested Don Perico's Restaurant, so off we went. There is a small refrigerator in the room, so we were able to save out dinner meal leftovers. When we returned, the key finally worked, and we settled down. We were on the second floor, and could hear a lot of noise on the third floor, with kids running around. The other caveat is that the TV selection is pretty limited, but I got their WiFi to work, and watched streaming shows. Again, the bathroom and room decor are very grey and institutional looking, more like a conference hotel than a vacation spot. I got up super early and went to the breakfast area, and it was the highlight of the stay. There were huge carafes of Starbuck's coffee as well as real cream, and Coffee mate Creamer. There was also a large selection of healthy breakfast choices like oatmeal with a bunch of toppings, packaged yogurt, and bagels. In hot chafing dishes with scrambled eggs and bacon, and packaged croissant breakfast sandwiches. I had a few cups of coffee ( I added chocolate chips to make it mocha) and yogurt, while my husband chowed down on the eggs, and bacon with added toast. The breakfast room is large, so many families were partaking of the breakfast. There is a sweet view of the mountains behind the hotel from the breakfast area. Checkout was fast and easy as we had prepaid (a necessity) and we were able to pullup the car right in front and we were on our way!!!

Check-in was nice & smooth, all the Staff was super friendly & helpful. I told them that I liked to photograph wildlife and they were kind enough to come knock on the door when some huge Bull Elk came in the area. Our Unit was clean, plenty of space, comfortable furniture, stocked with what we needed, and everything worked. We especially loved the Fireplace as it got cool on the rainy day. We loved the area, a nice park next door, within walking distance with a pond & a playground for kids. Small town (Stallion Springs) has a gas-station with a few eateries. Tehachapi is a bigger town (about 30 mins away). Make sure to stop at Visitor Center as it will give you plenty of ideas of things to do & where to eat. After lane splitting for hours Diane waved us down and said she could check us into our room. We stayed in a room that overlooked our motorcycles so it was perfect. I wish I had taken photos of the room. It was decorated beautifully with photos taken by Diane as well as art on the walls by her sister. After showing us how to turn on shower, where extra amenities were we set out to explore. The town is a gem and everyone in it was so hospitable I can't wait to return. The room was perfect to come home too and enjoy a glass of wine in front of your own little fireplace. Yes you read that right. We enjoyed a fire before going to bed.
