Jawbone Canyon ATV Rentals

Took my nephews riding up at Jawbone Canyon & Mark was awesome! He explained everything so well, we'll definitely be back. We had a blast and can't wait to go back and enjoy the live bands. Also the jerky is a must buy! We only bought 2 bags for the road and it was not enough.

Learned how to ride a motorbike for first time yesterday by ATV Rentals at Jawbone. As an experienced mountain biker, I showed up with absolutely zero street or dirt motorcycling experience. Crew (Andrew and his associate) were very friendly, knowledgeable and patient and allowed me to choose from 2 bikes my size. I selected the Honda CRF150F. Had several beginner's learning curves battles (e.g. starting and shifting gear and not stalling, etc.) and after first lap had to phone the crew for help starting (tank was full of gas). They patiently guided me through the process on my cell phone until I started the engine. It was a ton of fun and all the protective gear (DOT certified helmet, pads, chest guard, boots, gloves, etc.) was included for the price. I will definitely go back to Fun Time ATV next time I'm motorbiking in the Mojave area for rentals. Some tips: do not stray too far from your campsite especially if you are riding alone so you don't get lost too deep in the desert and potentially gets dark or run out of gas. Try to limit your speed and look around frequently for other vehicles as it can get busy on the weekends there. These motorbikes weigh ~250 lbs and they are VERY difficult to push around in the deep sand terrain in neutral.

Great rental service,Great costumer service,And a great over all experience. Definitely will be returning here again Andrew treated me like family and that's what business is, caring about the services you provide and to make sure they are the best services available!! If you want the very best service ask for Andrew and tell him Angel sent you

My daughter wanted to drive a sand car in the desert for her Birthday. We had the best time. We could have rented for a couple days. The kids just couldn't get enough. Thank you so much

Had the most amazing family fun time! The weather was perfect, the staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful. It was our first time and they were very thorough with explaining everything and giving us great tips. The route they gave us was utterly spectacular!! Perfect terrain for our 4 seaters. I do have two tips - be careful where you stop to take pictures (I inadvertently pulled over on the side of the road where it's sandy and got stuck - thankfully, two kind motorcyclists helped us push it out after digging a trail under the sunken back tires). Second tip: get there early!

I had such a great time. I've done ATVs on just a few occasions so I would say I'm still a beginner and Fun Time Rentals was so accommodating. They made me feel confident that I could take on a few of the trails by myself and I had a blast. Such great customer service and awesome vehicles!

Pretty awesome views. When Sunday brunches aren't your thing and you'd rather be doing your thing.

Easy place to find. Parking available onsite with porta pottys left of the shop / gas station. *Tip: For all newbies, buy a MAP from the operators and dont be afraid to ask any questions. Bring a backpack of water and snacks but remember to clean up after yourselves. (Other people's reviews about 'getting lost' are hilarious You're bumping around in the hills not West Hollywood. Google Maps aren't going to cut it chief. If the outdoor environment is too much then go play GTA, it has a mini map) *Pro Tip: get a GPS since cell reception is spotty. Mark the starting location of the shop and other interesting geo locations for future trips. Also helps with fuel management / estimating on the fly. (Or calling mommy for a picky up). Call / book online to see availability of ATVs, UTVs, and Dirtbikes. *Experience: Have fun but ride safe, there are other off road vehicles who will be at times travelling at speed in the same or opposite directions. Use common sense and pull over unless you can see through a dirt cloud...or if you have a death wish. If you are a first timer, dont take an ATV that weighs 1100lbs up a steep bank at speed. You're asking for a few broken bones / forfeit of deposit or worse. (Dont be that idiot). For comparison a Honda Civic weighs 2400lbs*

Unforgettable Family Adventure with Happy Trails Rental!…read more We recently took our family to Palm Springs for a fun weekend filled with stargazing, hiking, and off-roading--and hands down, the highlight of the entire trip was our experience with Happy Trails Rental. We rented two side-by-sides (one 4-seater and one 2-seater) and chose the Scavenger Hunt, which was perfect since we had my younger nephew with us. From start to finish, Ben and Tony were absolutely fantastic--extremely helpful, communicative, and transparent every step of the way. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free, which allowed us to focus on having fun as a family. They even provided a cooler for us to pack lunch, and the navigation was pre-mapped with clear waypoints, making it easy to explore without worrying about getting lost. We stopped multiple times along the way to take pictures, enjoy the scenery, and just soak in the experience. The entire time, my family was smiling from ear to ear. Ben and Tony are true professionals, and it really shows in how well they run their business and take care of their customers. If you're looking to spend a few unforgettable hours outdoors with your family, I can't recommend Happy Trails Rental enough. We will absolutely be back!

Even paper ski masks to help keep out the dust! That was a very nice and unexpected touch. I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews about getting the waivers done. But it's not hard. I've worked in IT help desks for years so I know some people are just not good with a computer. That's fine. Just read the instructions carefully and you'll get thru. Or just get help from a teenager. :-) To get to this location they give you very good directions. If you follow them you'll have no issues. It's actually very easy! But GPS is not great for the less traveled roads in the mountains going to a place that doesn't really have a street address. We will be going back soon! Hopefully for 2 hours next time!

Best decision ever! Although getting to the meeting point was a bit scary as we drove 15 mph through winding roads next to steep cliffs, the views were nice and the ATV experience was totally worth it! We gave ourselves plenty of time to get lost and it took us about 1.5 hours to get to the checkpoint. Luckily Google Maps was on the entire time and we even had an hour to kill on top of the mountain before our 12:30pm appointment. (Also had screenshots of the directions in case we lost service). Upon arrival, we met with the two girls who were wearing face masks and face shields so we felt safe. They had all the sanitizing stuff. They checked us all in, gave us each a mesh covering for our head, pairs of gloves, goggles and helmets. They offered different insurance plans (just like a rental car company), each ranging in price. Then, they walked us over to the ATVs where Jorge was our tour guide. He asked us if we've ever rode before and taught us how to use the automatic ATVs and made us feel comfortable and safe. (Throttle was on the right handle bar and brakes on the left. Second brake was a foot pedal). We drove on wide and narrow trails, over some fun rocky areas, kicking up lots of dust, and he took photos of us the entire time. This was a great family bonding experience and we're all still talking about how fun it was and want to do it again. Know Before You Go: It gets dusty so wear clothes and closed toe shoes that you're ok getting dirty. Give yourself plenty of time to drive to the location because the last thing you want to do is rush through the scary mountain roads. 10/10 would definitely do this again!

WARNING We saw all…read morethe awesome reviews from this place and thought to give it a shot. My wife has been wanting to go ATV'ing awhile, we were staying in Santa Barbara for the weekend so the timing was perfect. We live almost 2 1/2 hours away from the location (Santa Barbara)but gave ourselves a 40 minute cushion before our reservation. We past through 2 counties and caught anADDITIONAL hour of traffic on the way and completely missed our reservation. Now before your reservation you sign a agreement with a reschedule disclosure attached. We didn't make the appointment, didn't reschedule and we were forced to forfeit our prepaid $250 for two riders. This is an online business so you won't be able to talk with a single soul. I reach out via email, and was surprised how quickly they responded in NOT caring about helping me with my issue. Bottom line; no they didn't do anything wrong by not helping, but they could care less about having satisfied customers or anything outside of collecting our money. So if you're planning on going with this company then please be on time cause you'll not be shown any leniency, or to cough up an additional 40% of your initial cost PER PERSON just to reschedule.

The owner actually runs a motel and advertises a dirt bike and quad for rental. Unfortunately, we agreed to rent and were asked to sign a very long rental agreement on the owners iPad. We then waited about 45 mins while he drove the bike/quad to the garage for gas, then we drove across town to the trails and the owner left us. First of all, the both the bike and quad are 10 years old and in poor condition. We paid $300 + 50 for gas. We did not see them before we signed (stupidly that was our fault) as that would have been a big warning sign. When they kept stalling the owner said that when they warm up, they will be fine. They weren't and made riding for my quite difficult. The console of quad kept popping off and the steering was crooked. The stand of the dirt bike was held up by a rope and it dropped down during the ride. The clutch and brake handles were both bent. Needless to say, we did not enjoy ourselves. When the owner came back at the end of ride, he said that we had scratched the back of bike and bent the clutch and asked for $70 more in damages to cover a bent clutch handle. When I asked him how he comes to $70, he became abusive and said I was a 'dick' and that the rental contract allows him to change up to $500 at his sole discretion. Shortly, there after he decided to charge $150. I will contest this with the credit card company. My advice to anyone thinking of renting is don't. If you do, read the agreement and have a look at the bike and quad and better still drive them before you sign and pay. You won't want to rent once you do that.

The instructions to get there can look a bit complicated bc there's just so much info? but literally you can just find the meetup spot on Google Maps now if you look up 'Rowher Flat OHV'. Maybe bc it wasn't on there before, but the page gives you very detailed instructions, even a video to guide you how to get there. Past Santa Clarita and into the mountains! You'll eventually go off roading and fair warning, it is quite bumpy. Low profile vehicles aren't recommended, and you'll see why lol. I also brought my tesla model 3 here while everyone else I passed by was in a bigger SUV vehicle car. I wanted to be careful and drive slower on the road haha and luckily the road was not busy at all! After making it up to the meetup spot, it's definitely a very quiet and peaceful area. It's nice to experience away from the busy city life. We were on time to our tour, but we wanted to make it out earlier since there was some time needed for prep. Our tour guide, Sagi (?), was super chill and a cool guy! I had no ATV experience whatsoever but I am so thankful for having him to guide us haha. During the ATV ride, we did request a "beginner/easy" path, but the route he took us was actually pretty challenging lol but very fun! It was basically like an obstacle course, but good mix of flat, bumps, inclines/declines, roundabouts, and I feel like we got to experience it all within an hour! Weather was also perfect during the time we went as well, just wore long sleeves and a vest. An hour was more than enough for this experience. The tour guide even will make stops for you to take photos! Overall, experience was great and definitely would do this again to explore another area! Prepare for all your clothes to be dusty.

Enjoy the Mountain ATV Riding Vasquez Truck Trail, Santa…read moreClarita, CA 91390 Okay, let's get started! My ATV Experience: none. (I'm an adrenaline junkie; I've gone skydiving, love rollercoasters, kayaking, parasailing, scuba diving etc.) Other members in party's ATV experience: 2 members have gone on a 2 hour ATV ride in Mexico, 1 member in my party had no ATV experience but has rode motorcycles in the past. Occasion for trip/Cost: I bought 4 ATV rider tickets for a 1 hour session for my boyfriend's birthday. Total cost came out to: $476.00. Location: The mountain area in Santa Clarita. The directions are VERY clear in their email that they send. If you click on the link DIRECTLY SENT TO YOU in your email, you'll get there no problem if you use the Google Maps app. They have the link. They have a YouTube video showing you how to get there too. I didn't lose cell reception not once getting there. I took a CAMRY HYBRID to get there and there is a dirt road for quite some time before you get to the location where you park. Date went: 10/11/25 at 9:00am. Weather was PERFECT. It was 74F degrees. It was sunny, but cool. Did not need a jacket. Just wore a dark t shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Heads up: You won't have opportunities to take picture or videos of your own during the ride. The guide will take photos for you and send them to you via email during the ride. You will be asked if you want to buy insurance prior to the ride in case any damages happen. You have the option to decline. Make sure you sign the waivers prior to check in. *****You will have to bring IDs of the members going and the card used for payment for check in. Actual ride: I was instructed to ride right behind the instructor given that I had no prior ATV experience. Our guide, Jackson, was very friendly and considerate throughout the whole experience and informed the rest of the party that the speed of the ride would go based off me since I'm the beginner. Jackson consistently looked back at our party to make sure none of us were falling behind, had to stop once to fix another member from getting stuck at a turn, and we were going about 15mph the whole ride. It felt so nice outside! Considering that this was my first time riding, I don't feel like it was too hard to pick up and learn how to operate the ATV. I would NOT recommend this during the summertime. I think this experience would not be enjoyable in the slightest if it was hot given that you're already wearing a helmet and there's heat that comes from the ATV that you can feel near your calves. Your thumb will hurt a bit as you have to press it in consistently to make the ATV go. You can ask for a break if needed if your thumb gets tired. ***Important to note ***I did this ATV trip on the first day of my period and it was still enjoyable! Usually the first day of my period my body feels dreadful (headaches, nauseous, and backaches). I didn't have anything to eat prior to our ride and I felt nauseous right after I got off the ATV ride, but that's not the ATVs fault. Just recommend having a little bit of food at the very least before you go. Overall, I would rate it 4/5 stars. I feel like I was so focused on riding the ATV, following the guide, and making sure I was going at an enjoyable speed for the rest of my party that I didn't really get to take in the view and "enjoy the mountain" so to speak. We started off on smoother paths and then our guide took us on more challenging paths with turns and dirt bumpy roads. I think this is a great experience/activity to do when the weather is cool.
