A great class for all things firearms!!! World class teachers and a well rounded curriculum with plenty of range time.

ARTuity Creative Studio - Excited to start Art Class

    ARTuity Creative Studio

It's calm,…read morecreative, and chill, making it the perfect space to learn and get lost in your drawing or painting. The studio is always clean and welcoming. Ms. Antoinette is a wonderful teacher. She is kind, encouraging, and really brings out each child's artistic side. She helps the kids feel confident and proud of their work. One of the best parts is the friendly poodles. If the dogs are around, they're super sweet and the kids love them. It adds a warm and playful touch to the whole experience. We also like that they allow food and drinks inside. It makes the space feel relaxed and comfortable, like a second home where kids can create freely. Overall, ARTuity is a fun and inspiring place where kids can express themselves through art. We highly recommend it.

See below: I had called ahead for the details and was offered a free trial class for my kid. We were greeted at the door by two large dogs that licked and sniffed us without restraint. While in the class area I had to get some space from the dogs so I moved to the front waiting area, but unfortunately it was already occupied by a bag of really stinky trash in the middle of the floor. It was that or sit next to a dozen 4 foot long burned out fluorescent light tubes propped up against a wall that I was afraid I'd elbow over. One of the older students was using oil paints and solvents without any ventilation and that's not a great thing for anyone in the room. In general, the studio didn't seem very clean or safe. The instruction was of a very limited scope and sporadic. Despite the small class my kid was waiting a lot for permission to move on. New children were given a line drawing to copy it then color it in with pastels. I gather after some conversation with the teacher that a lot of the work here is this kind of highly restrictive copy-work. We fell for the course description on the web site that mentioned "drawing what you see" but actual instruction lacked any emphasis on real observation. Traditional techniques of drawing from a still life or seated figure were not present. It was, admittedly, a big disappointment to see so much emphasis on 2D copying. It was also awkward to hear the teacher command work as though the kids were workers on a production line by assigning them specific content to copy and specific color schemes. The teacher drew on top of nearly all student class work; it was difficult to witness her making such improvements. My kid flipped out a bit when the teacher invaded her sunset with a pastel but it didn't stop the teacher from inflicting further assertions, encouraging formulaic methods in total disregard to the big cues of discomfort my kid kept expressing over the restrictively narrow class expectations. It was a long hour and a half that we somehow managed to get through (and another hour or so to bang out this review) but for those who have little creatives in need of an art class be warned that this is not a very open or supportive environment. It felt like an authoritarian task factory. I wish I'd known it was going to be like this; we would have stayed home and watched Bob Ross--at least his little trees are happy.

I just went to the most beautiful celebration of life here. It has a piano up front and a podium. Maybe they have church services here also. When I was turning the big 50 my husband want to have a party for me. He wasn't finding anyplace nice and affordable to rent. We ultimately decided to cancel party because of life getting in the way. I don't know what they charge to rent the space but I told my husband this would be perfect for a party. Someone told me that schools use the space for activities but don't quote me on that. I wish I could have gotten more pics of inside. If you are looking for a venue for any kind of event. Check into Slice of Life. I will be calling for quotes 9/26/19 Yelp won't let me update my review so I will do it on my previous one. Still a five star review, would give it more if I could. Tonight I was at the Fall Fashion Show and was able to meet the owner Susan. She was so gracious and wonderful to talk to. She explained that they do classes like art, music, cooking, drama, sign language for adults and children. I am really excited about the programs they offer for my son. This space is so beautiful, you can rent the big space or a smaller one for a more intimate setting. I am sure I will throw a party at this venue at some point. I have been to two things here now and both of them were amazing. Everything about this space is wonderful even down to the bathrooms.

I finished the class that I should have completed 17 years ago. I'd hoped to share with the group how proud I was, and how good life is today. Unfortunately, the group got going on several downer topics, such as the atrocities happening in our jail system, how *all* sober living homes run by Armenians are a scam (gee, racist much?), and how the Democrats are extending the government shutdown because they want Healthcare for illegal immigrants. I lost it on that last one, and corrected the person, but felt like I was alone in my opinions. Another person who completed their class today got a warm hug from the teacher, but with me she barely made eye contact. I felt robbed of my celebratory moment. Screw them! *I* completed the class, I finished my responsibility, and if I'm the only Pagan and Democrat in the room then I sure won't miss anything. OVERALL, I rate The High Road well, but I recommend keeping your opinions to yourself when in class. No one likes feeling like the outcast.
