This review comes from a first timer, so my experience prob won't make any sense to any gun enthusiasts but- This place was super interesting. They have a long range for the bigger rifles but there were also people shooting pistols on the same range. They have barrels and a board you can put targets on. The range master (he's the guy in charge with the microphone!) gave clear instructions and safety was emphasized at all times. You can drive your car right to where you're shooting at the range. The pistol range was really cool because the targets make sounds when you hit them, instant gratification! They have a really cool western themed town area, husband said they have cool weekend events there, would definitely check that out. I 100% know this review is ridiculous, and husband probably won't take me back here, but I'd go again, now that I know how loud guns are! read more

Honest Review: I hadn't shot a gun in over 37 years. I have recently found the need for home protection. My husband and I purchased a small revolver, for me. A Ruger LCR 38 special. Lot and lots of improvements , from benches to steel targets , all the way from rimfire to rifle range , but 1 rimfire range has been turned into a pistol range , with nice steel targets hanging from stands , its either hot or freezing , even in winter , it can get hot in direct sunlight , or freezing , just hot from may to October , so dress according to weather. Kids MUST HAVE EAR PROTECTION parents. Be sure to check out there calendar for events during week ends. read more

Pretty much every time I went out to 5 dogs I've had a great time. The place is HUGE with lots of different ranges. Great area for clay shooting with shotguns too. Doesn't hurt to familiarize with the rules just so you don't get strange looks and get the most of the visit. When at the clay range it's pretty simple and separated. Awsome outdoor range for any level gun enthusiast! It's only about a 20 minute drive to get to this gem. (Watch our for potholes in the road on the way to the location) My buddy and I went during a weekday in the morning and had it almost to ourselves. Memberships run you from 20$ for the basic tier, to the 185$ for the best one. You can check their website for additional info. The employees are super cool and get you shooting pretty quick. If you forget something you can buy it here, the range does sell ammo and targets but targets are limited so we bring our own. As for the range , this is definitely the place to go for rifles! It was a blast shooting the AR, they have targets at various yards for you to practice on. The little tables at the rifle area also have some metal swinging shade for that Bakersfield heat! The pistol range is super cool too! I just wish that they would replace a few of the targets , some of them offered a nice ping and some you couldn't hear anything so It was hard to verify if I had hit the target or not. If you're white you're good to go at this range. But if you're anything else that idiotic old man that looks like he hasn't had a shower since Covid started will hover constantly over you. He will park his golf cart right next to you and just sit there and stare at you. For those that think it can't be happening. I've been there on numerous occasions where there are dozens of other people shooting at various lanes and literally watched him drive right by people who were or appeared to be white and only stop, stare and hover over the people who look like they aren't white. So go ahead and give this range your money and find out for yourself. Go to Turners on Jomani Dr. way better customer service. You won't get watched and hovered over based on your race or how you look and it's in town so you save gas and time. You can also shoot everything up to 50 cal at their range. They also don't have any old farts that look like they divorced showering back in the 70's. So that's a plus. Side note, don't expect anyone to be sitting in the tower watching what's going on. These people will not monitor anything. I've been there time and time again where the tower is completely empty for hours on end. People are doing their own line breaks and nobody is monitoring or watching what's going on. Maybe it's because they're too busy in the golf carts racially profiling people. read more

Highly recommend this outdoor range. During the summer hours, i do suggest bringing a canopy for some shade and packing lots of ice and water. It can get really humid for some days. Staff is very Friendly and Firm. i went out to 5 dogs early this morning hoping to enjoy a couple hrs on the rifle range.haven't been out there for a period of time so my annual conditional membership had expired. After Paying 20 bucks for the membership and 12 bucks for a day of shooting I headed down to the shooting benches . I can only say how disappointed I was in the condition of all of the broken down targets and so much brass on the ground you had to be cautious not to fall on your ass. Very Very dissatisfied. but they don't have a problem taking your money. read more

Went out for target practice and general shooting. Couldn't ask for a better day or service from the work crew! A great place for families who love to practice for their upcoming hunting trip. I've been coming to 5 Dogs for years and it's always been a great place to shoot. They have a wide variety of ranges to accommodate most weapons. Their staff is friendly, but are quick to call you out if you're being unsafe. This visit was my first time trap/skeet shooting and it was a blast. I have been going to this range for a while now and I love it! The guys working the counter are great, good customer service, huge location, they have multiple ranges for different caliber firearms and usages, portable toilets, a shaded section to hang out at and the membership is really well priced. Unless they changed it, I payed $20 for a year membership and $10 for everytime you go and per person. The one setback is how during fire season we can not use steel ammo on the metal targets. It would be nice if they fire break the areas around the metal targets to avoid any fire hazards so we can use those metal targets. It's the main reason I go out there to hear that plink! Lol, other then that I plan on being a member for a long time. Great shooting range guys! read more

Finally got a chance to visit the range for the first time and man was it great. Went on a Friday after non and me and the friend I went with were the only ones there on the pistol side. The staff was very friendly and had a great time so I decided to get a membership because I will be going there from here on out. Great long range shooting, tactical range, shotgun range, wide open view, pay attention to the rules when initiating with this range as this is a law enforcement hub for training. When visiting the range you must always use proper gun handling, and Fallow the rules as instructed and as you signed in the contract, if you don't you will be held accountable no matter who you are, and your privilege to use the range could be rendered void. This place is cheap, friendly and safe. Since they're open only on certain days, it keeps my spending on shooting on check. They allow all firearms in certain designated areas and are more than happy to answer questions that you may have. They sell ammo, eye wear and hear protection on the spot. This place has serious but friendly workers. The place can cater to just about all your shooting needs. and with almost 600 yard range it's plenty for me. We drove 3 hrs and were not disappointed. The cleanest out houses and even a sink to wash hands. They cooked up some hot dogs for lunch. We stayed at the rifle range all day but the pistol and shot gun ranges look fun too. They have plenty of steel targets for u to shoot and allow you to bring your own. The shooting tables are nicely spaced, so u aren't get hit with hot brass from ur neighbor.
