It was our first time, and both the inside and outside were a little run down. I was happy to see there was a police there to secure the parking lot. The crowd that was attracted to "family night" hardly fit the category, it looked more like "discount night." But everyone kept to their own for the most part and cooperated smoothly on the roller rink, so I had no concerns. The music was also not very family oriented. Near the end the music was toned down a bit and I saw a few more families arriving with small children which was nice to see. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. We didn't try the small arcade or any food/snacks they also sell, so I can't review those. But based off the helpful staff and our children enjoying roller skating, we will be back. Hopefully the music is a little more family friendly.

My game on the front 9 was terrible greens were fine fairways good Kokua grass around the greens got me. My back was much more enjoyable no three putts and I hit the greens in regulation stayed away from the Kokua. It never got uncomfortably hot we finished in under four hours, after we enjoyed the cold beer in the clubhouse. Super time at North Kern today if you throughout my awful front nine. I'll be back

They perform club regrips which is what we needed for my husband's hand me down set. There was a few different options to choose from for the regrip and it was done in about a day or two, super quick. The clubs turned out great. I believe they sell a little bit of other gear too. There was an artificial grass putting area in the storefront part as well. Another big service they offer is virtual golfing. You can come in and there are 2 rooms set up that can be private. There is a projector screen and the program allows you to choose specific golf courses to play, change weather factors like wind speed, and I think time of day even? It was awesome. I believe you can also use it for driving range practice virtually. This is great for a hot day in summer, a more affordable option than a club, or to practice a specific course before going in person. They offer memberships for this virtual service as well. We were super impressed with the level of customer service as first time customers and have returned a few times since. I think it was great seeing the regulars come in and be acknowledged on a first name basis too. As golf beginners, we really appreciate this store being in Bakersfield. These issues include: * Promises that cannot be made * Workers have to ensure no projects are broken as there are no backups * Inventory leaves no space or time for errors * Inventory is almost never sufficient, so workers are frantic * The children are rushed through lessons, instead of a 45min rotation as parents are told * Most of the time, teachers are completing the projects for the student * Overall unpreparedness/unorganization on the owner's part * Literally a sweatshop * The owner displays inappropriate behavior in front of members' children * Each of her employees are NOT background checked (this, I know to be true). I can confirm that 8 of her employees were never fingerprinted, myself included * She denied her employees 10min breaks (which is required by CA law) when asked * Her payroll has failed to be paid out to her emloyees as a business owner. When 7/8 of your employees refused to work under these conditions, you have to question what/who the real problem is. * When payroll is delayed, we (the workers) are made to feel guilty about the ownerms financial issues, yet she's out on vacations and throwing the responsibilities on the employees. * When problems arise and need to call, she does not pick up the phone

My 21 mile out was met by a few banks of heavy fog and lots of workers headed west towards Taft and the oil fields. It was cool and crisp at 8:00 am when we checked in, $40 for 18 is still a deal. The pro shop didn't really have much merchandise at all which concerned me. The gentleman who checked us in was pleasant. We putted for about 10 minutes before we were up at 8:30. I noticed the driving range, it looked terrible. There were few early strong willed groups out in front of us. This course is classic with the all the different elevations and different terrains. The greens are in good shape, large and tricky, they challenge your game, most all break towards Taft that hasn't changed. The tee boxes weren't too bad, sand traps were all in poor condition, fairways were the same, shaggy and tough with many gopher and squirrels holes. Numerous trees on the course were in need of attention broken and down limbs some require removal. Cart paths are also in need of repairs. This beautiful course is in rough condition. I heard rumors that were mainly because of high water rates that have escalated to the breaking point for management. This used to be a Kern County gem, a fine place to play a round of golf or hold a tournament. Snack bar was always busy great lunches. Why can't the County or the City of Taft partner together drill a well or help with the serious problem out here? We (County) spend money for many causes and fund numerous questionable programs let's save a this classic venue before its too late. Our round of golf today was sad because of the conditions, but always enjoyable due the fantastic views of surrounding mountains and extensive farm lands definitely post card worthy

They have a long range for the bigger rifles but there were also people shooting pistols on the same range. They have barrels and a board you can put targets on. The range master (he's the guy in charge with the microphone!) gave clear instructions and safety was emphasized at all times. You can drive your car right to where you're shooting at the range. The pistol range was really cool because the targets make sounds when you hit them, instant gratification! They have a really cool western themed town area, husband said they have cool weekend events there, would definitely check that out. I 100% know this review is ridiculous, and husband probably won't take me back here, but I'd go again, now that I know how loud guns are!

I booked my session at Power's Fire Arms and bang!!! I didn't know how to hold the gun or stand with it. Between Craig and Becky; I found out I could shoot that little revolver pretty accurately.
