I definitely had some good memories over here. The staff were all knowledgeable and were able to communicate all of the Saftey measures, policies, and guidelines that must be kept in order to shoot safely to not jeopardize oneself or the people around them. It is also definitely a good change of scenery, detaching from the city and go into the mountains in this way versus an indoor range. I was able to take some pictures and video as well which remain to this day one of my favorite memories. I would recommend everyone send all their text messages and make their phone calls long before you arrive because cell service can be a challenge from time to time. They also have a pretty well stocked shop on site so if you need any gear or ammunition, you'll definitely be able to find that among many other accessories like hearing protection eyeglasses so on and so forth. Last, but not least, they have a variety of different ranges based on your firearm and the distance you are looking to practice on.

My kids shot here for the first time. Out in the bundocs.. but a great place for first time long range shooters. Not intimidating and very organized. No Cell service, so you're in the moment for sure! Happy shooting!!

Is the range open May 2020? Would like to go tomorrow if so. May 3

Do they rent guns? My son wants to go for his birthday, but we don't own any guns.

They do not rent guns. They do sell targets and amo (not cheap).

Has anyone been here this year (2017)are they inspecting AR's for compliance? We have until 2018 to comply, I'm worried I will take my rifle and will b sent away

Compliance on what? If you register it as an assault weapon you can keep all your "EVIL" features if you don't you need to make it featureless either way A Place to Shoot has no way of telling if you registered or not? That's your responsibility… Read more

Senior lead woman was teaching a new employee. "OK so this man has VET on his CDL and while he looks like Jesus I'll bet right now he is a retired Police Officer. I've enjoyed shooting at Angeles Shooting Ranges over the years, which is why this experience was…read moreso disappointing. The range officer, James, was rude, unprofessional, and used profanity while interacting with customers. There is no excuse for treating paying customers that way. After my target frame broke while I was shooting, James ordered me to retrieve the broken frame. I complied, but afterward I reviewed the posted range rules and could not find any rule stating that customers are responsible for retrieving broken target frames. My issue isn't with following reasonable instructions--it's with being spoken to disrespectfully and being expected to follow what appeared to be an unwritten policy. If retrieving broken target frames is an official requirement, management should clearly post it instead of leaving customers to be confronted over it. After reading other reviews, I noticed multiple customers describing similar experiences with the same range officer. It makes me wonder whether customer feedback is actually taken seriously, because the same complaints seem to have been raised repeatedly. Safety is critical at any shooting range, but professionalism and respect are just as important. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and addresses both the behavior of its staff and the lack of clear communication regarding this policy.

This is a well-run shooting club in Santa Clarita. If you're coming from LA, it's actually just…read morebefore you get into Santa Clarita. There are multiple ranges, depending on what you want to shoot, a restaurant with quality food, a small bar (they do not allow you to shoot after drinking, but the reverse is fine), a gun shop with a very good selection and knowledgeable staff, and several events throughout the year. What really makes this place great is the staff at the ranges. If they see someone doing something unsafe, they call it out and put a stop to it immediately, which is what you want at a gun range. But more than that, they're friendly and more than willing to help you with tips on shooting or with any weapon malfunction--very important for new shooters. Guys like Savage and Jimmy really help make the rifle range an enjoyable experience. As far as the different ranges, there is a long row of shotgun clay/skeet shooting at the front when you pull in. That's also where you find the restaurant and some clean bathrooms. There is also a small shop with clothing, accessories, and some very high-end shotguns. This is where you check in for the shotgun range. To head to the archery range, park there and make a left past the main building and up a hill. I haven't been to the archery range yet, so I can't comment on it. For the rifle range, continue to the left past the ramp for the archery range. It's a bit of a walk, especially if you're carrying a bunch of weapons and ammo. It's paved, and I believe they have golf carts available to help transport you if you're disabled or just need the help. There is a small shop where you check in, with accessories, ammo, and targets available for purchase, as well as various rifles available for rent. At the rifle range, you can shoot most calibers of rifle, shotgun, or handgun (but no hollow points), so it's fun for all. You can set up cardboard target stands or use the steel targets spread throughout the range. I'm not sure how far back it goes--probably about 75-100 yards. I've heard a rumor that if you bring in a watermelon or pumpkin, you can shoot it, but I haven't checked the validity of that yet. The only negative about the rifle range is that the only bathrooms there are porta potty's. For the pistol range and gun shop, when you pull into the parking lot, instead head to the right, where there is an additional smaller parking lot. There are some nicer bathrooms out front. Inside is the pro shop/gun shop, where the guys (I think their names are Frankie and Rick) are very helpful. If you want to try any of the handguns before purchasing, they have them for rent as well. There is a paper range and a steel range. I believe that, aside from handguns, you can also shoot small handgun-caliber rifles there. At the paper range you can shoot hollow points (at least that was allowed last time I was there), but not at the steel range. There are about 10-12 stalls on each range. I don't think either range extends past 75 yards. For the paper range, you can purchase targets at the shop or bring your own to put on cardboard stands. One of the guys there is extremely helpful if you need tips or have any questions. I believe his name is Page-hope I got that right. On the steel side, they have a plethora of steel targets set at different distances. The nice thing about the steel range is that you never have to stop and wait while people change out their targets. There are also an additional two speed plate lanes at the end that are first come, first served. Again, the employees do a good job of keeping an eye on everyone and maintaining a safe environment. Don't forget to bring ear and eye protection. But if you need it, they have both available. I don't think they currently charge you to borrow either. They also have memberships available, with massive discounts on the membership a couple of times a year during events. One tip - if it's your first time, make sure you fill out the waivers online before you go. It will save you time when you get there. There is a main waiver everyone signs, plus additional waivers for each range you plan on using (ie shotgun, rifle, archery, pistol, etc.). I highly recommend Oak Tree to anyone looking to try shooting for the first time, anyone looking to purchase a firearm and try it out first, and experienced shooters looking for a good, safe, convenient place to shoot.

Very pleasant range tucked away in the hills by Valencia/Santa Clarita…read more Good service at the desk, you can and should sign waivers in advance via their website for smooth processing. They have a great selection of rentals if you so happen to need it or want to try stuff out, pricing is available on their website. This visit I enjoyed their steel pistol range, they have an option to shoot paper as well on a separate part of the pistol range. The bays are nice and wide, lots of space to comfortably shoot on the steel range. Reasonable pricing and the location is a nice and quiet woodsy forest vibe. There is parking in front of the club/restaurant/shotgun range (Rifle is to the left), as well as if you hit a right, there was a bit of parking in front of the pistol ranges and gun store. This place is a must try for any hobbyist, recreational or professional shooter.

From the moment we walked in, everything felt professional, welcoming, and upscale. The facility is beautifully designed, spotless, and very well-run. I love that it's members-only--you can immediately tell they take the experience and environment seriously. The staff were amazing: friendly, respectful, and never made us feel rushed. Bob Wu was outstanding. His background, professionalism, and teaching style really stood out. He made my wife feel completely comfortable and confident throughout the lesson, and she truly enjoyed it--so much so that she's already planning to book more sessions. I explained it was our first time at this particular range and they explained everything and showed me the map before taking us all to the private range we had reserved. Make sure you go over the driving directions when you leave, as we had no mobile phone service once we got deep onto the dirt road. Follow the signs and you'll get there eventually. I wouldn't drive there with a lowered vehicle or fancy sports car as there is about 1.5 miles of dirt road you have to drive on that's a bit bumpy. Just drive slowly. I didn't check the selection of rentals they had on offer as I have my own toys, but I have heard it is better than most. We got a private range on a Wednesday and it was incredibly cheap ($100 for 2 people all day, $40 each additional person). They bring out steel targets for you to use and then leave you alone to have fun. You can draw from holsters, rapid fire, do drills, etc. No 1-shot per second nonsense, Their public rifle range has steel targets out to 1000 yards so you can see how good your skills really are. Lots of fun steel targets to shoot. You can finally stretch out your rifle and those high dollar optics. For the first time I wished my 6-24x scope had more magnification. I wish this range were closer but it was only about 1 hour from the Pasadena area which isn't too bad at all for 1000 yard steel. I believe it may be the only range in the los Angeles area that has steel out to 1000, as Angeles Shooting Range is maximum 600. I am definitely going to return to this place again soon!

Their range is ok, downstairs, its loud, its cramped. It can also get too crowded, and then of course if you go to your bag, someone inevitably will ask if your done, even though they paid for one stall, not two. Boards block the targets, so you have to put your pistol into the cutout, this is the most annoying aspect of the range. Target placement are hand crank controlled if that matters. Their reloads are ehh at best. Had one where the bullet came out of the case and it took 3 hours to completely flush out the pistol and trigger group. So inspect every cartridge. Reload prices are a tad more than the cheaper white box ammo at other places, but not high. Overall a good place, i recommend.
