This is a really nice range, tucked away in the canyon with easy parking at all the stations and reasonably priced. I almost didn't wanna write a review because I don't want it to get crowded since there's usually plenty lot of space between shooters. After shooting some rifles and pistols, I tried their manual clay bird station and it works well. The clays are also very reasonably priced. Anyway, don't tell anyone else about this place! Great range. There are several different ranges for different firearms. The staff are generally polite and do a good job making sure the range is running properly. The entrance fee is cash and is a straightforward process. It is in a remote location so there is no cell coverage there. The folks shooting here can be annoying though sometimes (don't put your shit down right next to me and bump into me while I'm aiming down the range wtf). Sometimes the RSOs are there to call out stupid behavior but they're not at all the ranges. read more

I definitely had some good memories over here. The staff were all knowledgeable and were able to communicate all of the Saftey measures, policies, and guidelines that must be kept in order to shoot safely to not jeopardize oneself or the people around them. It is also definitely a good change of scenery, detaching from the city and go into the mountains in this way versus an indoor range. I was able to take some pictures and video as well which remain to this day one of my favorite memories. I would recommend everyone send all their text messages and make their phone calls long before you arrive because cell service can be a challenge from time to time. They also have a pretty well stocked shop on site so if you need any gear or ammunition, you'll definitely be able to find that among many other accessories like hearing protection eyeglasses so on and so forth. Masters are knowledgeable understanding and they do care but they don't hover over you like they do at other ranges, but they have discipline and making sure that the ranges are always safe and you are safe. It's a little ways out there, but they do have a wide selection of targets to hit. I like coming here cause they have metal targets, which most places don't around town. However if it's a super windy day or just windy in general they close off more than half of the ranges and only let you shoot metal targets. I only know this since last time I went that's what happened, would have been nice to know if they clarified that on the website so I wouldn't have driven all this way too be stuck only shooting metal targets. However when you can shoot at the whole range it's spaced out and they have different kinds of target practice here. It's limited on how many ppl can shoot at a time since covid, they space everyone out. But it's definitely a fun active you can enjoy for the day. read more

I took my daughter to shoot for the first time and she loved it. went back two weeks later to shoot again. were going back this weekend. friendly staff. they're helpful and happy to answer any questions. you pay a flat fee for an all day pass and you can use pretty much all ranges, except for one or two member only ranges. we used the two handgun, low caliber ranges and the high power rifle ranger. we had a blast. if you're doing everything right and following the basic gun safety rules you shouldn't have a problem. the staff will leave you alone to do your thing. before going to a public range, I do recommend you read and get familiar with the four basic gun safety rules. This will benefit you, but also the safety of everyone else around you. another thing I like about this place is there is no cellphone reception. they do sell snacks, drinks and ammo. restrooms are porta potties. highly recommend A Place to Shoot!!! read more

I first visited this place 4 years ago to do some plinking with my father in law. And I have been there every week since. I fell in love with the location and I am excited about the upgrades. They covered all the lower ranges so everyone can shoot in the shade. AND now they have a store that not only sells whatever ammo you could possibly want, including the hard to find rounds... but they also have snacks and drinks too. Not to mention the other goodies like targets, cleaning kits, gun rugs, and if you are a reloader they have supplies for that too! The staff there is pretty cool. They keep an eye on everyone and will call you out if you are not following the rules. I love this place. I hope to keep coming back for many many years. read more

This is an excellent place to shoot. This is an outdoor shooting range. They do not rent out guns so you have to bring your own. They do sell clays and ammo but it is not cheap. I suggest going to Walmart close by for ammo. They also rent out ear plugs for sound cancellation. There is quite a bit of gravel on the floor. read more

One Friday morning some cousins and I ventured out to this outdoor shooting range. Half of us were inexperienced as we have never fired a weapon before while the other half has. Luckily, cousin is a police officer and gave instruction really well. Safety first! $12.50 entrance fee and you can stay as long as you like. It's best to bring your own eyes and ears, but they have some there for you to rent. About 5 different shooting areas with the rifle area at the very end left hand corner. This place is maintained quite well and range masters are attentive. For safety, them being there is important as they are able to clear shooting areas to cease fire and gives the opportunity to change out and arrange your targets. We brought our own ammo and guns, but again, they have all that for rent too. We did rent a spotter scope for $7.50, so we can actually see if we hit our targets. The only downside is there are no restrooms, only portable potties. No eating or drinking allowed in shooting areas, only in designated bench areas. All in all, an awesome outdoor shooting range experience! read more

I recently paid a $17 visit to this aptly-named place to break in some new pistols which ranged from Saturday Night Specials to Hand Artillery and several in between. Although they have made many improvements over the years they still need to promote diversity...in targets, that is. Many of the targets on the magnum pistol range were difficult to see and rather small to engage with pistols. They used to have metallic versions of pigs, deer, etc but I guess the times have changed. The range dude was friendly and helpful. read more

I have never, and I mean never have I been talked down to, criticized and downright harassed as much as I endured here. A Place To Shoot has long since been a place that I have praised and recommended. Apparently the owner is feeling comfortable hiring condescending and rude employees to run his range? Great shooting range. Everyone minds their own business, you're allowed to have your fun, safely of course, without being bothered. Pretty good entry price to get in, I believe it was $16 per person, correct me if I'm wrong. Only negative was that some of the workers were yelling, kind of worried me someone had gotten injured. I understand cheering is normal, but they were yelling as if something bad happened, definitely scared and worried me. Overall though, great range and I will go back, I just hope they cut back on the yelling. read more

I love the smell of gun powder in the morning. I haven't been to the range in a while and it was nice to be able to burn of some much needed stress and just hang with my buddy. On weekends, it can get crowded so arrive early. Once in, stop at the "office", sign your waiver, and head to one of the few ranges inside the compound. The office has weapons for rent, ammo, and targets. There is a private range for VIPs and LEOs, then there are other ranges for rifles, and some for pistols, including a range for trap/skeet shooting. The rules are strict, so listen to your range masters to stay safe. The outdoor ranges aren't as intimidating for novice shooters, as indoor ranges. There are periods of live fire that last about 20-30 mins, then a cease fire so you can reset targets. I would definitely recommend this range to everyone. read more

Place seems to have improved dramatically the people there are not nearly as rude as they used to be! They seem more friendly and happier to have your business where as in the past it was almost like you were bothering them. They still have their moments at times but it usually when they have to put a knucklehead in their place. I've been coming to this range for the past 3 years. Usually once or twice a month. It is a bit out of the way which is a positive since it keeps some of the crowds away on the weekends. For handgun and shotgun shooting this range is awesome. For rifles/long range shooting it's ok. I would rate Angeles Shooting more suitable for that. I go to all the ranges for different types of shooting. Be sure to bring cash, snacks and water as there are no services nearby. read more

LOL I can never Yelp check in here because it's in the far forest (with no trees) boonies and there's no cell signal. Because it's far from anything it's almost never busy. There are no frills, just focus and shoot kind of place. The layout is basically flat areas of dirt with some tables. There's a decent clay shooting range and the steel target pistol range has a variety of near and far distance targets so you can practice your near or long range skills. They also allow shotguns with buckshot ammo, no slugs at the steel target range (the wider and bigger one, there's two). There are no fancy shops or high tech equipment. The bathroom is a porta-potty and the office looks like a shipping container. The price is right $12.50 all day (even $5 cheaper if you show your new gun purchase receipt of 30 days or less). Ammo prices are better priced than other ranges. The drive is semi-scenic Daylight hours only - make sure you check the website or call to make sure they'll be open when you get there.
