Last night my wife and I booked a private lesson at The Range LA, and it was hands down the best experience either of us has ever had at an indoor range. My wife has been to a range a few times, and I've shot plenty over the years--but I was specifically looking for a place where she would feel comfortable, at ease, and supported with proper instruction and training. My next-door neighbor and close friend highly recommended The Range LA and Bob Wu, and I'm genuinely grateful he did. From the moment we walked in, everything felt professional, welcoming, and upscale. The facility is beautifully designed, spotless, and very well-run. I love that it's members-only--you can immediately tell they take the experience and environment seriously. The staff were amazing: friendly, respectful, and never made us feel rushed. Bob Wu was outstanding. His background, professionalism, and teaching style really stood out. He made my wife feel completely comfortable and confident throughout the lesson, and she truly enjoyed it--so much so that she's already planning to book more sessions. I was originally there mainly to support her, but Bob was so impressive that I decided to jump in too, and I'm really glad I did. This is my second time visiting this shooting range. During my first visit, I was able to shoot on my own without any issues. However, on my second visit, the staff member at the entrance was quite rude and told me that I was not allowed to shoot by myself. This was confusing and inconsistent with my previous experience. The attitude was unprofessional, and I honestly felt uncomfortable. The way I was treated came across as disrespectful and somewhat discriminatory. I'm a member.. and this is by far the best indoor gun range I've ever been to. The owners invested a lot of money into the venue esthetic, ventilation system and sound deadening. The member community & the always helpful staff is where the real value of this member's club is. Members will range from LE's, active & former military, celebrities, athletes, Dr.'s, executive professionals.. etc. Is it for everyone?? Nope.. and to be honest, I kind of like it like that. Class A operation. Everyone I have met here is top Shelf. From lawyers to docs to CEOs of large corporations. Clean, gorgeous, safe, with parking on roof, and the staff teaches bits and pieces for no charge. I also take lessons here from Bob Wu, retired police officer, who is gentle and kind. The owners, Pete, and Eric, are friendly and helpful. Everyone is very knowledgable, and intellegent. This range is like no other I have been to, and I am comfortable and relaxed here. The Range is like a country club for indoor shooting. The facilities are top notch, the employees are helpful, and the instructors are knowledgeable. They know active members by name, ammunition is charged directly to your account, and lanes and rentals are always available. I went to The Range LA today for the first time as a new member. I have waited decades to have a range this nice so close to where I live! It is a joy to have access to a new, beautifully constructed, state-of-the-art, brightly lit, well-ventilated, spotlessly clean, private, members-only range, with private parking and biometric access. Every member of the staff, including Peter, one of the owners, is extremely friendly and welcoming and helpful. At the shooting lanes the electronic keypad selection of mechanical paper target distance is classy and convenient. After shooting it was nice to have access to a large and well-outfitted gun cleaning room. After gun cleaning it was nice to be able to hang out and to relax with tea and coffee. All prospective members and staff must undergo a background check. The range offers personal firearms training from basic to advanced. They do offer a basic pistol course to nonmembers a couple times a month outside of business hours usually on a weekend. The counter is set up like gym check in with apparel accessories gun rental and ammo for range usage. There is an app to book and secure your range time. Range has 2 bays and 16 lanes. Outside of the range is a general lobby with day use lockers gourmet coffee/espresso machine and water station. There are two lounge areas for premium and vip members with tvs and snack bar.
