I later spoke with Paula who was friendly and helpful, she told me she was gathering enough people for a small beginners class for women, I asked if I could bring some friends and she said yes. We signed up and she provided all the information via email. I nor my friends had ever shot guns before so we were a little nervous. We got to the range and met Sayaka, who was badass! She assisted us to get geared up and shared about her expertise. There was about 6 people in our class, so it made it very intimate and they were able to assist us individually if needed! Paula and Sayaka went over various topics of safety. Already it made me feel at ease. Paula is so knowledgeable and quite hilarious she had be cracking up the entire class. Paula and Sayaka made a great team and they explained everything thoroughly. Such cool ladies! I was so inspired by them! We went over the movement of pulling the gun out from the holster over and over and over. But we didn't use the gun just learned the movements so we can get comfortable. Then we moved on to actually holding the gun. It was really helpful, because once we began shooting the adrenaline spiked! I got a lil scared and so did my friend but Paula and Sayaka were extremely patient and helpful. They showed us how to shot, where to shot, and how to reload. They gave me so much confidence that I could be badass like them! I will definitely be back and taking the next course. The three hours flew by! It was a lot of fun! We didn't know we were gonna get to shot in the shoothouse so that was a surprise and such a great time! Paula got some cool pics of us. 10/10 experience and I def recommend to women who have never shot before. It's definitely a necessity to protect ourselves and our loved ones!

I genuinely enjoy shooting at Angeles Shooting Range and will absolutely be coming back. One of the…read morebiggest reasons is that they allow outside ammunition, which is rare in Los Angeles and something I really appreciate. The range layout is great, and overall I've liked my experiences there. However, during my recent visit, there was an incident with a range master (James) that management should address. My friend and I briefly stepped over to a table area where another guest was showing us a shotgun he had purchased earlier that day. This was not during a ceasefire period, and no one was downrange. The firearm remained inside the bag the entire time. He did not pick it up, manipulate it, or handle it -- he simply unzipped the bag slightly to show it and intended to zip it back up. At that point, James approached yelling loudly about opening the bag. I fully respect strict enforcement of safety rules -- ranges should be strict. If there is a policy about not unzipping cases at the tables, that's completely fine. But the tone and level of aggression did not match the situation. After that, he continued staring at us and pointing us out to other staff members, which made us uncomfortable enough to end our session early. In an environment involving firearms, professionalism, composure, and emotional control are essential. Being yelled at and then singled out creates unnecessary tension. After this experience, I looked through other reviews and noticed similar feedback about overly aggressive communication from staff. That suggests this may not be an isolated incident and is something management should take seriously. This review is not about being corrected -- it's about how corrections are delivered. Authority in a safety role requires calm, measured communication. If this style of interaction is consistent, I strongly encourage management to evaluate whether this individual is well-suited for a customer-facing safety position. Staff demeanor directly affects the safety atmosphere of the range. When we spoke to the front counter staff (including Carmen), they were professional, took our concerns seriously, and encouraged us to share feedback so management would be aware. I appreciated that. I'm rating this two stars because staff conduct matters in an environment like this. That said, I do plan to return because overall I really like this range. I would welcome a response from management, as I genuinely enjoy this range and would like to see situations like this handled more professionally moving forward.

They were very kind to me (I was a little nervous since it's been so long since I went to a range) and made me feel safe and assured. The pros will help you from start to finish, and even the guys just there on the range who didn't work there were nice, too. I made new friends! Great selections at the shop, easy parking, straightforward no-fuss place. Great value for time and money on the ammo, rental & lane. If you also need gear and gadgets, backpacks, apparel, cleaning tools...they have it. Also- I did not try it but the bbq food truck smelled amazing and I will definitely be doing that next time. Big thank you and shout out to Page for the support out there today. I will definitely be coming back with friends and family.

The class was a great mix or ages and genders, and Vince's teaching style was both informative & easy to follow. We were able to handle about 6 different pistols in the classroom, which was incredibly helpful. As a petite woman w/ limited upper body strength, I struggled w/a few models, but Vince went above and beyond to teach me and other women specific techniques to make handling them much easier The range time was the highlight-practicing what we learned w/ one-to-one feedback from Vince was invaluable. Daniel was a great instructor who made the class interesting and easy to follow. He gave excellent instruction and we felt safe when we went to the live shooting portion. He gave me a few tips and techniques that definitely helped as I continued to familiarize myself with my new pistols. When it was time to take my CCW course, I returned to Daniel and things went great as well. The class is twice the length, but he was still able to keep it entertaining and engaging. The only thing I'd change is when it comes to the mental health portion. He makes it known that he doesn't like the fact that he has to teach that portion because he's not a mental health expert. He's not a lawyer, but has no issue teaching the legal portions. He's not a health expert but brings someone in to discuss dressing wounds, tourniquets, etc. So it would be nice to have him embrace the importance of the mental health portion of the class. Outside of that, the class is great! If you're looking for a basic pistol course or getting your CCW, I highly recommend Daniel and First Step Shooting.

I had never shot a gun before, and for this to be my introduction, the bar has been set high, my friends. For my friends birthday, my wife arranged a private class for the three of us with Aris, and let me tell you--this man should be teaching a masterclass for future instructors. We walked in with sweaty palms, feeling unsure and nervous, and walked out feeling empowered, knowledgeable, and eager to do it again. His patience, professionalism, and passion for what he does left me in complete awe. The class was clear, informative, and to the point. While there was a lot of information to absorb, Aris knew exactly when to repeat the most critical safety points in a way that never felt overwhelming or monotonous. After the class, we moved to the shooting range, where he guided us through range rules, etiquette, and practical application. Having him there to offer real-time adjustments and tips made all the difference--it truly brought everything full circle. The Target Range--give this man a raise! He brings the passion, knowledge, and respect that the gun industry deserves. If you're a first-time shooter looking for a safe, educational, and confidence-building experience, I highly recommend booking a private class with Aris. We'll definitely be back!
