If i could give this place a 0, I would. Unfortunately I have to give it a 1 star sadly. I wish they would have at least been a 1 star. They would not refund us the money when my boyfriend that's Black asked for a refund because they asked him for a passport to buy ammo which I have never heard of. We have been to multiple shooting ranges across LA and have never ever been asked to show a passport to buy ammo. Since we couldn't buy ammo, we asked for a refund which they did not give us. When we had bought some glasses before trying to buy the ammo to shoot, we said we wanted the black glasses and the lady manager with a tattoo on the side of her eye made a comment and said "yes of course they want black and laughed" while looking at my black boyfriend. I have never experience this ever.

This was my first time at an outdoor shooting range so I give it a 4 because I have nothing to compare it to. Went around 9 am on a Sunday and it was quite busy. I personally thought there was enough parking... but I suppose it could possibly get full. I wouldn't worry too much about that though. I bought a pistol target for $5 but that was super small. I didn't know at the time I was purchasing, but they have a sticker target you can buy that you can stick on top of it. It's way bigger and more fun to use. They stop you from shooting every :15 and :45 to give you time to put up your targets. They have you step away from the bench area and staff comes by to make sure your guns are on safety or something before they let you go out into the dirt area. You need to have ear coverings and glasses protection. The ear plugs are like $1 and honestly they work pretty well. The glasses are cheapy and can be a bit crooked lol

Angeles shooting range is definitely a great range that's closest to LA. Off of the 210 west, it's very close for people living in Hollywood, Burbank, and dtla. The range is easy to find, plenty of parking and lots of space on ranges. I've heard you have to wait sometimes as it's first come first serve, but I haven't had that experience yet. The check ins are very easy, and you can speed up the process by doing it online days before you plan to visit. The range is fairly priced at $26. Plus whatever you want to add on (targets, ammo, etc). Some places charge by the hour, but not here! The staff and RSO are professional and straight to business. Give them respect and they give it right back. Definitely good for both solo trips and with groups.

Nice range ! I took my son for his first time shooting and we had a blast. The range masters make sure everyone is safe and compliant.

Definitely one of the funner(yes I made that word up) shooting ranges I've ever been. There's plenty of lanes but definitely noticed they get packed quick! But the space is legit and got to see some cool weapons from other visitors! Staff is cool, some helpful, some not so much but over it's ok. Checkin was easy with online waiver and pricing is pretty good. I will definitely be back soon!

If you're into shooting guns and want to shoot them at ranges beyond 100 yards, this is the place you need to visit. This range has everything from a pistol range, to a range with 100 yards on the right side. The right side is great for zeroing your rifle. Then when you're ready to shoot the longer distances, the left side is perfect for it. There's 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 yard distances. 100, 200 are good for paper targets. I think on certain days 300 paper targets can be done. 300 yards and past it are all steel targets. The service is quick at the beginning so long as you can finish you're paperwork quick. It's not pricey at all. If you enjoy shooting, you need to check this place out.

This is our favorite shooting range in LA. Angeles Shooting Range sits in a beautiful valley with a big enough ranges to accommodate many shooters. From older adults to young adults, everyone is welcome. Our children enjoy shooting at the ranges. The staff could be nicer though. I get it, it's a shooting range so they have to act tough but being tough can also be friendly and courteous. We like that they have iron targets for hand guns and riffles. We also appreciate that they stick to rules and keep everyone safe. I don't have knowledge of other ranges in the area but for $26 a day for adults, I think it's affordable. You. An also register online or they have the forms ready there as well. They do have 2 restrooms 1 for women, 1 for men. Plenty of parking available.

Ask the Community - Angeles Shooting Ranges

Do they still have metal targets for rifles and pistols at that range?

Yes they do still have metal targets for rifle and pistol.

Is there an area to bbq or where we can bring our own bbq to hang out with friend's?

Thank you for the great question, Victor. Due to the high fire danger in the Angeles National Forest, you are only allowed to cook out with an electric grill that you must bring. We also have picnic benches available for your use.

Do they rent Chronographs?

Hi Scott, We do not rent Chronographs, but we sell them at the Reloading Store.

Do you have private ranges for reservation?

The private ranges are available to law enforcement and private instruction and are not rented out to the general public. A person could sign up with private instructors that use the range if they were interested in shooting on one of the private…

Do they provide ear and eye protection with the entry payment?

no they do not. But you can buy them if needed

How much are the clay targets in the shotgun range?

My understanding that it was 18 cents a clay the last time I visited in late 2023

What is the minimum age requirement to shoot alone?

The minimum age to shoot alone is 18

Is the Range open on Juneteeth?

Yes!

Shotguns allowed? Is there a dedicated area for it I haven't seen?

Yes, shot guns are allowed. In the area near clay shooting. The B and C areas.

Would the gunsmith calibrate my scope?

No gunsmith on site at the public range.

Do they sell targets there or do we have to bring our own?

They sell targets not an amazing selection though if you want a specific kind. Best to come prepared here.

Around 4-5PM when it's dark, is night vision goggles allowed for shooting?

The long range closes at dusk and on Wednesday nights the range lights up the short range .

Can I bring my own stand up targets, I.e my own dueling tree, AR 500 steel plate, etc?

Sadly we can't.

Do you have a restroom onsite?

They do have restrooms.

Is winchester 5.56 m855 green tip allowed at the range?

No armor piercing allowed. They have magnets on the poles to check AP rounds. If they are magnetic, no go. This is a safety feature to prevent fires from sparks.

Whats the going rate for 9mm ammo at the range? Want to now if i should grab some before i come in

I seem to remember it was about 27 a box. I only needed a few boxes of 22 magnum which was 17.99 for 50. $20-25 a box was the norm on line. Of course, not living in a free state, we can't order ammo on line.

Do spectators need to pay a entrance fee even if they aren't shooting?

Spectators do not need to pay an entrance fee however they must fill out a waiver at the check in office and must wear eye and ear protection up on the line.

Looking to calibrate my red do. What are the time intervals during shooting? Any suggestions on how I can do this?…

Thank you for the Question, Brandon, Cease Fires are done every 30 minutes at a quarter till the hour and a quarter past. I assume that you are trying to calibrate your Red Dot scope, you can do that with one of our sight in targets. These targets…

Is there a time limit of how long I can stay for one day?

No time limit. Our charge is per person not per lane. You can come in and pay when we open, go away for lunch, come back and shoot until we close. Keep in mind that our hours will change coming up this Sunday with the time change. We will be open…

Are we allowed to prone out with rifles?

Yes. You can shoot, standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone.

The class provided structure, guidelines, and valuable considerations on when to use lethal force, how to apply it effectively, and how to do so while minimizing collateral risks and maximizing the chances of prevailing in court (especially important here in California). Most importantly, it emphasized how to carry yourself in a way that reduces the likelihood of ever needing to deploy lethal force in the first place. For context, I have a competitive shooting background and am confident in my ability to put accurate rounds on target quickly - both in a square-range and more dynamic settings. My weakness? Applying that skill in real-world situations. Marksmanship is just one side of the coin. Tactics - the knowledge of how and when to employ that marksmanship - is the other. This class helped tie those two sides together, showing how to maximize survivability during an incident and in the post-incident aftermath involving law enforcement, prosecutors, jurors, and the inevitable Monday-morning quarterbacks. Looking forward to ITTS creating Tactical Concepts 2 and 3... Highly recommend for anyone who wants to take their skills beyond just hitting the target.

We met up with him at Angeles shooting range and he gave my family a very generous 2 hour private lesson. All levels of gun experience were represented so he went through basics, got us all speaking the same language regarding gun safety and then taught us to shoot our guns his way. Wow! It was like magic. In one lesson we were hitting the center consistently. It was really impressive the way he broke it down to the simplest mechanics and was able to get such great results with each of us regardless of our experience level. Aside from being a consummate professional regarding guns and training he also was a helluva nice guy. Plus he had a perfect voice for firearms instruction. I know it's weird but on a gun range it's loud and people are wearing earplugs. A clear authoritative voice that cuts through the clamor to keep me focused is an asset I appreciated. I will definitely be taking some of his group classes in the future and recommend On The Level Firearms Instruction enthusiastically to you :)

He does his instruction out of Angeles Shooting Range which is amazing. Larry taught me how to use a new hunting rifle and scope that I have never used that I impulsed bought in the excitement of my first hunting trip. Although I have experience in sidearms and shotguns I have never fired or operated a nice hunting rifle and scope. As I was on a timeline I asked Larry if I could get some private instruction. He offers it and boy was I glad. He not only taught me how to use my hunting rifle but also how to properly zero in my scope and also checked its mounting. the rifle I bought was a .308 caliber so he brought his .22LR rifle so he could properly instruct me on how to operate my new firearm. I will never forget what he said, "If I learn to shoot properly and with the basics using the .22LR I can apply this to the larger caliber rifles and it will work!" Oh Boy was he right. He took the time and patience to teach me how to breathe, properly pull the trigger, check meld EVERYTHING! Even some things like websites regarding ammunition velocity etc that were way over my head for a beginner. Needless to say I was very happy with his instruction and I went on my hunting trip. I employed everything Larry taught me and I was able to hunt my first Deer. I will never forget the experience as it was perfect and it was made perfect because of Larry's instruction. I took one shot and it was a perfect kill shot. The shot was so good the Hunting guide was so impressed that a city slicker did so well at such a distance. I thought he was kidding but when other more experienced hunters came back and they had missed their shots with their fancy guns I knew my guide was not kidding! And I also knew that what Larry had taught me in two hours of private instruction will stay with me for the rest of my life. If fact much of what he taught me I pass on to my friends which Larry told me is what makes this instruction invaluable. I even went out and purchased my own Remington .22LR takedown to practice as much as I can the things he taught me I cannot wait to take his other classes and have more private instruction from him. My instruction and hunting trip was back in June and I am just writing this now because I find it very important to let him know and everyone that wants to know how good this guy and his firm is. now that I have written it I can sleep better at night!! Um. Nope. Not ever again…read more Over a week ago I got a quote for adding 2 sets of night sights to 2 sliders. Twice by email, responding to my checking the time, they confirmed between 12 and 1 was good to drop off and have the work done while I went to grab a coffee, thus saving me 2 hours, plus riding in the blazing heat, and at least $25 in gas. True to my word, I got there yesterday at 12:30. Surprise surprise. The gun smith was no where to be found. I was told they had no idea when he'd return. They mumbled something about a funeral. LOL. Right. A few sentences later he mumbled a new excuse "an emergency". One would think a funeral happens long enough after the deceased dropped dead that they'd have/had time to plan their time off and make necessary concessions. At that point I should have listened to my gut and just canceled the project but instead I left the sliders and sights there to be installed whenever. I was home all of 20 minutes and got the call they were done. I guess the funeral let out early. Hahaha (no disrespect to "the dead" :) Adding salt to the situation once home I took a moment to watch the manufacturer's video on installation. Admittedly something I should have done in the first place. My bad. Bottom line. If one was ret@rded and worked reeeeaaaallly slow, using no special tools they could get both sights installed in 10 minutes. 1 screw for each front. The backs merely slide in sideways with a couple light taps. So I'm out $100, 5 hours of my time back and forth, over $30. in gas for what amount to 10 minutes of work. Oh and a boat load of "sorrys", can't forget those. Sorry is just a word. Price gouging, highly inflated cost aside... Any reputable business screws up that bad, they'd offer some meaningful gesture of value to compensate for the loss one took coming to them. Not a peep. Not a "Gee we screwed up we'll discount you a dollar." I did get a "have a nice day" out the door tho. Shame. They have a great selection of guns. One I was strongly considering but guess who isn't getting a penny more much less any of the budget for some higher end long range rifles. Whatever ever happened to gun owner's common code of decency, honesty, stand up, fair pricing? It's given away to gouging, greed, unaccountability and bad business ethics. They don't even lie well. Or is this just an Armenian thing?
