The guys at MWG are Awsm! Super knowledgeable, friendly and they'll go above and beyond to help with whatever you need! They can do anything you can dream of to your gun. The shop is very cool, the guns they have on display are works of art! Twice I've had them do some work on my guns (M&P Shield and my Henry X). They did an amazing job both times. Nikolas really came through for me getting the Henry done early as I was on a tight deadline, I can't thank him enough for that! If you need some work done, look no further than MWG. These guys are busy, so Make sure to make an appointment prior to your visit and MWG will take care of whatever you need. I'll be a customer for a long time to come

What a seamless and professional experience. Niko was absolutely top notch in how he handled the process of wanting to customize my Glock from beginning to end. He is the most knowledgeable gunsmith I've ever come across. He walked me through the process and taught me a fair amount about the weapon. Overall I'm incredibly happy with how it turned out. Exact color and modification's I wanted! Thank you Niko and Modern Warrior.

    Danish Flag / Glock 34

Wow, simply wow. Mega thx to Nikolas and the entire MWG crew for doing an incredible job. They literally transformed my Glock 34 into a competition machine that perfectly reps my Danish Viking heritage, it's the Danish Flag Glock work of art that shoots as great as it looks. I thought they could never pull off my crazy idea but I was wrong, man they absolutely killed it and created the most unique firearm I've ever owned. I'm a one arm amputee and the handling after having been custom stippled now fits my hand like a glove. It's a joy to shoot and a fan favorite with all the guys I shoot with over at the Angeles range. I'm extremely grateful for their detailed work, it's pure fire and I can enjoy the feel as much as the sound of ringing steel from 100 yards. Badass. Nikolas took the time to listen to my idea and ran with it, I'm blown away by how awesome the final project looks feels and shoots. I'm definitely coming back to have my AR pistol worked on. Their service and communication is excellent and extremely kind knowledgeable and professional. I absolutely recommend this for anyone interested in working with the best gun smiths and awesome artists in LA.

Upper slide, damaged screw for filler plate. Unfortunately I stripped the screw and was unable to remove it on my own.

Made the costly mistake of stripping the screw that bolts down the filler plate. I've never been to a Gunsmith before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I called MWG and made an appointment for the following day. Knowing how some car mechanics can be I was hoping to not have to deal with someone like that, luckily I had the pleasure of meeting Nick. I had to wait for about 10 minutes since there was a client before me but it was well worth it. The Customer Service was superb and the knowledge and advice that was given really helped. Nick ended up helping me out with removing my screw without having to send it off for a charge of $95. I ended up giving him a tip for his time and support, he really helped make my day. I easily avoided a $50 plus charge thanks to Nicks consideration and understanding of customer support and service. I will definitely be returning if I'm ever in need again. Thank you Modern Warrior Gunsmiths!

Proof of my trip, I highly do not recommend this place.

On Wednesday, I picked up a CA7 by Franklin Armory from Martin B. Retting right up the street. After, I headed to Modern Warrior Gunsmithing because they said they could replace a buffer tube for me (I include all of the parts). The guy working was incredibly nice, so I decided to get 3 things done; - Buffer tube removal and installation of sb3 - install maglock gen 4 - install kingpin They charged a total of $145 for 10 minutes of labor, and would not allow me to wait in the store during the pouring rain. When picking up, they did not mention anything of my original parts until I brought it up. They returned my original buffer tube, and when I asked if that was it, they said yes because they used most of my original parts. That is just not true because Maglock Gen 4 and Kingpin come with their own necessary components. In the end, I did not receive my original detent, detent spring, and milspec magazine release button. Please look elsewhere, they are extremely overpriced and I truly felt taken advantage of.

    My pride and joy.

Sean turned my Glock 17 into a work of art. I compared it with a rented stock Glock at my local range, and it blows it out of the water with respect to accuracy, aesthetics, and enjoyment to shoot. Small details matter. The stippling keeps my left thumb correctly in place. My thumb flops around with the stock model. I just shot six rounds rapidly into a target from 7.5 yards. Each bullet hit center mass, and I shot all six with my eyes closed! It was a drill from my intermediate shooting class. My Glock 17 was miles ahead of the other students' guns. MWG offers more Glock mods than the national big-name companies. It's a splurge, but I got my money's worth. Thank you, Sean.

It's nice to know that there is a great gunsmith in WLA. Pricing is a little high but the service makes up for it.

Ask the Community - Arli Arms

Can you just drop in to look?

Hey there! We’re appointment-only — we don’t do walk-ins. We don’t sell factory guns or parts, so we like to tailor each visit based on what you’re looking for and how we can best help. You can find our appointment schedule link on our contact page… Read more

Can you do custom work on Beretta's and Sig Sauer?

Yes We can! We customize, repair and work on pretty much any gun. The only exception is that we do not accept work on AK platforms.

Do they sell police grade pepper spray?

Unfortunately we do not. You may want to try LAX Ammo or Turners Outdoors

Does the store do deep gun cleaning and general maintenance?

Yes We do! We offer a wide range of gunsmithing services as well as our custom firearm packages. From detailed cleaning and inspection to building the custom firearm of your dreams. All handled in shop.

Will I be able to take the FSC exam at your location?

Unfortunately we do not offer that certification at this time. We hope to achieve those licenses in the future however for right now a regular gun store that sells factory firearms would be the best bet for you. Thank you

Can you put railing (so I can put a light) on an old Betetta 8040?

We can custom fit and make a rail for it but. We would have to see the gun and discuss the project in person to be able to promise any durability of the rail. There are many factors that would go into how strong it would be. Please email us to set… Read more

San can you guys mill my guns slide?

Yes we can. Please email us for an appointment or quote info@modernwarriorgunsmithing.com

San, do you know of any existing issues with M&P 10 in 308 for not cycling the next round? Have you worked on the gas block on these particular AR10's? Please let me know as I am in need of a good gunsmith.

I know that ar-10 in general do have cycling issues. But nothing specific to that make/model. If you'd like to bring it in for us to take a look let me know. Thanks

Can you nickel plate my 28in Remington barrel?

Unfortunately nickel plating is one of the few services we don't offer. We offer full service cerakote however.

Is there a rifle range at this location?

No I'm sorry we are strictly a full service custom Gunsmithing company. No range or firearm or ammo sales.

Daniel was a great instructor who made the class interesting and easy to follow. He gave excellent instruction and we felt safe when we went to the live shooting portion. He gave me a few tips and techniques that definitely helped as I continued to familiarize myself with my new pistols. When it was time to take my CCW course, I returned to Daniel and things went great as well. The class is twice the length, but he was still able to keep it entertaining and engaging. The only thing I'd change is when it comes to the mental health portion. He makes it known that he doesn't like the fact that he has to teach that portion because he's not a mental health expert. He's not a lawyer, but has no issue teaching the legal portions. He's not a health expert but brings someone in to discuss dressing wounds, tourniquets, etc. So it would be nice to have him embrace the importance of the mental health portion of the class. Outside of that, the class is great! If you're looking for a basic pistol course or getting your CCW, I highly recommend Daniel and First Step Shooting.

During the online purchase process, Sako suggested a few FFL's, and Guns LA was one of them. I said yep, although I had never been here, and away we go. A few weeks later, I received an email notice that the rifle had arrived at Guns LA, and I drove over to go through the transfer drill. They buzzed me right in, I was greeted by a couple of the guys, and they handled everything right away. Typical easy California transfer: pages of paperwork, produce CDL, provide DNA sample, raise your right hand and swear you are not a communist or a Klingon, take a polygraph...the usual drill. Because they have a highly Yelp rated gunsmith, I handed them the Leopold scope and mounting rings I had purchased and asked them to mount it (yeah...as if I could have mounted it). No problemo. Ten long days later, I returned (and yes, the DROS paperwork stamps the exact minute from the ten days you started the process and you are damn RIGHT I was there at the exact minute to accept my rifle). They gave me a break on the price of mounting the scope since I did the transfer paperwork there, which was generous and unexpected. Everything was perfect. Although I live in Pasadena, and there are closer gun shops, I would absolutely go to these guys again. Thumbs up and thank you!

I had an excellent experience at Guns LA in Burbank and can't recommend them enough…read more About a year ago, I purchased a handgun from another dealer that has since permanently closed. Recently, I noticed some parts were coming loose and was concerned about safety. I reached out to a few shops, and while the first place was willing to help, I felt like they were more focused on trying to sell me something rather than genuinely helping with my issue. Thankfully, I found Guns LA right around the corner. After seeing their great reviews on Yelp and Google, I decided to stop by and I'm so glad I did. Deon helped me from the start and was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He never made me feel uncomfortable and took the time to explain everything clearly. Not only did he inspect and fix my firearm, but he also spent time teaching me how to properly use my Holosun sight and gave me helpful tips to improve my shooting. He even shared a flyer for private training lessons, which I really appreciated. Best of all, there was zero pressure to buy anything. He genuinely cared about helping me, not making a sale. When I returned to pick up my handgun, Deon and Mike explained that the previous dealer had actually left out some important parts, something they couldn't believe. Luckily, Guns LA has a certified gunsmith on staff (apparently one of the only ones within a 20-mile radius), and they took great care of everything. I'm extremely grateful to have found this place. They've earned my trust and my business. I'll definitely be coming back for future purchases, and they're now the only shop I'll trust with my handguns and AR-15. Highly recommend Guns LA if you're looking for honest, professional, and knowledgeable service! Big thank you to Deon
