I was schedule for a cleaning. Got there and Sean looked at my weapons and said these don't really need cleaning. They're just dry. He oiled them up, fixed a pin on my safety and sent me on my way. They wouldn't accept even the smallest gratuity. They could have charged me hundreds of dollars for cleanings but instead provided a free service and a smile. Truly great Americans. They stole my scope. Would not recommend, horrible experience. I brought in a scope and they didn't give me an invoice for items received. Then the called me and said the rings didn't fit which was strange as I made sure to get rings that fit. I got home and opened the box and it was a different scope. This is an update to a review I posted in April 2023. MGW has now had my Beretta in their possession since October 2022. That's over a year and five months just to install a front dovetail and sight. I had provided them with a set of Trijicon night sights for installation back in Oct 2022. Instead they cut a dovetail for a totally different front sight than what I provided them. Now, this front dovetail is way too large to fit the Trijicons. When I asked MWG about this, they confirmed that I did provide the Trijicons in my original work order. Problem was, they had no idea what happened to the Trijicons. MWG, blamed delays on getting the replacement Trijicons, even tho I had no problem getting them within days from Optics Planet. It is now April 2024 - another year of waiting to fix their mistake. Then they blamed delays on metal work they farm out to another entity. I have to follow up with them every month just to be sure progress has been made. I have to initiate contact and sometimes I receive no response. I would sincerely advise against trusting MWG. It's been a year and 5 months without my Beretta. Just for front sights. Terrible communication. Terrible location. Totally unacceptable service. Would not recommend. Would not bring any of my other firearms for service. An entire year of anger, frustration and disappointment. Totally regretting and wishing I had never brought my gun here. I thought sights would be an easy job for any "gunsmith". Did I mention they already got my money? I'll post another review when I get my gun back, whenever that may be. read more

Wow, simply wow. Mega thx to Nikolas and the entire MWG crew for doing an incredible job. They literally transformed my Glock 34 into a competition machine that perfectly reps my Danish Viking heritage, it's the Danish Flag Glock work of art that shoots as great as it looks. I thought they could never pull off my crazy idea but I was wrong, man they absolutely killed it and created the most unique firearm I've ever owned. I'm a one arm amputee and the handling after having been custom stippled now fits my hand like a glove. It's a joy to shoot and a fan favorite with all the guys I shoot with over at the Angeles range. I'm extremely grateful for their detailed work, it's pure fire and I can enjoy the feel as much as the sound of ringing steel from 100 yards. Badass. Made the costly mistake of stripping the screw that bolts down the filler plate. I've never been to a Gunsmith before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I called MWG and made an appointment for the following day. Knowing how some car mechanics can be I was hoping to not have to deal with someone like that, luckily I had the pleasure of meeting Nick. I had to wait for about 10 minutes since there was a client before me but it was well worth it. The Customer Service was superb and the knowledge and advice that was given really helped. Nick ended up helping me out with removing my screw without having to send it off for a charge of $95. I ended up giving him a tip for his time and support, he really helped make my day. I easily avoided a $50 plus charge thanks to Nicks consideration and understanding of customer support and service. I will definitely be returning if I'm ever in need again. On Wednesday, I picked up a CA7 by Franklin Armory from Martin B. Retting right up the street. After, I headed to Modern Warrior Gunsmithing because they said they could replace a buffer tube for me (I include all of the parts). The guy working was incredibly nice, so I decided to get 3 things done; - Buffer tube removal and installation of sb3 - install maglock gen 4 - install kingpin They charged a total of $145 for 10 minutes of labor, and would not allow me to wait in the store during the pouring rain. When picking up, they did not mention anything of my original parts until I brought it up. They returned my original buffer tube, and when I asked if that was it, they said yes because they used most of my original parts. That is just not true because Maglock Gen 4 and Kingpin come with their own necessary components. In the end, I did not receive my original detent, detent spring, and milspec magazine release button. Please look elsewhere, they are extremely overpriced and I truly felt taken advantage of. read more

Pros: I've had a few firearms serviced by Modern Warrior. I have had: Cerakote (which came out SOOOO good), Stippling, Night Sight mounting, and Red Dot mounting. Their crew is absolutely amazing in terms of knowledge and they are friendly without the typical "gun store attitude" (no clue why that's even a thing but if you're nodding your head right now then you know what I'm talking about), this place has none of that. They are personable, informed, and friendly. I appreciate the appointment only approach as you get 1 on 1 time to discuss your requests and you don't feel rushed in terms of your meeting time. As others have mentioned the pricing is fair, and once again, the quality of work is really good. Con: I will continue to give Modern Warrior my business but one suggestion I do have in terms of areas of improvement are to give your customers far more accurate estimates in terms of when your firearm will be ready for pickup. If I'm provided an eta then I'd hope we can stay relatively within that time frame. I look forward to working with these guys for a long time, will continue to refer folks to them! read more

Hi guys, Thanks for the trigger & stippling & double undercut work you did on my Glock 17. It made a HUGE improvement in my shooting. The double undercuts really help my long fingers find a place on the gun. The trigger job feels perfect for a defensive pistol. Easy to pull with a very short reset. If I stipple the rest of the gun (grip, backstrap, second undercut, gas peddle) I think it will improve my shooting even more. As is it's a HUGE improvement from the stock Glock 17. What a nice place. I had some Issues with my MPK gun and called in to see if they can help. I called Thursday afternoon and made an appointment for Friday morning. I arrived early and they allowed me in and tried helping me before the manager Nicholas(I believe is his name) arrived. Nicholas was very kind abs helped me figure the pistol out. I needed some bolts for the screws of the gun that were falling out. They took my gun and added it. I Added a nonsense auto switch to my gun so I can break it easily because of this garbage state of California law that you can't own specific types of guns here. No automatics allowed. Either way Nicholas tried helping me with it but it really wasn't meant for my gun. I got the service I needed and quickly too. A few days later I spoke to one of my buddies and he said he had 4 guns in that place being upgraded and my buddy has 37 guns so if he is using this place then I must be in the right shop. read more

Sean turned my Glock 17 into a work of art. I compared it with a rented stock Glock at my local range, and it blows it out of the water with respect to accuracy, aesthetics, and enjoyment to shoot. Small details matter. The stippling keeps my left thumb correctly in place. My thumb flops around with the stock model. I just shot six rounds rapidly into a target from 7.5 yards. Each bullet hit center mass, and I shot all six with my eyes closed! It was a drill from my intermediate shooting class. My Glock 17 was miles ahead of the other students' guns. These guys are the best!!!!!! I had my Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded redone by them. It came out great. They redid the finish, installed a new barrel, did a reliability service and installed an fiber optic front sight. Due a misunderstanding on my part the pistol didn't come out the way I thought it would. They went ahead and redid the finish to my satisfaction. The gun shoots much better now and looks great. I also had them look at a buckmark which had problems with stove pipes every magazine. After they worked on the buckmark I put 200 rounds of the same ammo in with zero stove pipes. Great place to have work done. The only problem being that with the supply chain problems it's taking a bit longer to complete projects. So if you need work done go see these guys just be patient as it sometimes take a while to get the parts needed to complete your project read more

Modern Warrior Gunsmithing still has my Springfield .45 for almost 2 months after a initial 2-3 week estimate when I initially dropped my gun off and was quoted $390 back on June 14, 2020. I paid $195 deposit with balance due upon completion of the service. I brought my gun in to have it serviced due to it being rusted and was upsold to also have it painted in Cerakote to help prevent rusting in the future. I called back in on July 6 a little more than 3 weeks later to check in on it and was told it would be 2 more weeks because they are still waiting on the purple paint to come in but once it does it will be ready and will take only 1 day to finish the job. I said to myself it would've been nice if you guys would have called me and let me know but was understanding and said it's fine things happen no worries. I give them time and call back again 3 weeks later on July 30th and this time speak to the manager Sean and he tells me the same thing again they are still waiting on the paint and it will be ANOTHER 2 weeks. I tell him that their service and communication has been terrible and HE GIVES ME HIS WORD that it will be ready in another 2 weeks on August 9. Today August 10th they tell me my gun is still not ready and will need additional work and will cost me additional money. Totally unacceptable at this point. I gave them plenty of time to make things right but they never communicated to me honestly on what was going on with my gun and I had call in every time to get an update. I am looking to get a full refund due to their terrible service and inability to complete the job in a timely manner. Claims will also be filed with BBB and with my credit card company for refund of deposit if it not returned. I'm waiting now to hear back from Sean to make things right but not sure it will happen. read more

The best way I can put it is that San is an artisan. He puts in the time and effort it takes to build a quality product and stands by his work. I had San work on a stock glock 34 I had lying around that was clearly beneath the standards of my collection. I came in for a consult, and he took some measurements of my grip. I ordered the total marksman package, which customizes every aspect of the gun--the sites, the slide, the barrel, the trigger, the grip, and added a compensator. He also showed me some swatches for a custom paint job for which I chose desert camo and a black barrel. This was all before the pandemic hit. He has had to deal with immense hurtles finishing my gun--his supply chains were disrupted and he had an immense amount of business due to all the new gun buyers out there, who ranged from super impatient to really just rather clueless about guns, gun modifications and gun laws. After a few months of dealing with that nightmare of a situation, he got me my finished gun. It took some breaking in, particularly with the paint job, but it's the best glock in my collection at this point. It kicks like a mouse caliber gun, the sites point really nicely with a two dot system, it cycles smoothly and quickly and the trigger pull is incredibly light, making it that much harder to make trigger mistakes. It's an enabler, because sometimes it feels like the gun is doing most of the work making accurate shots when I shoot with it. I intend to come to San with all my gunsmithing work in the future because it's clear to me what he is--he's the gun equivalent of the blacksmith who forged masamune. You may have to wait for a while for him to finish his work, but once it's done, your nothing stock weapon will be a unique one of a kind thing of beauty with all the effectiveness that goes with it. read more

Brought my Beretta PX4 here to get the sights replaced. When I was quoted, I was told they can do it in an hour, but I told them I was not in a rush so we agreed on a week. Week passed, no word. Kept getting told they will start next day because they are backed up. Few days pass, no word. They never reached out to me once without me reaching out first. They finally get to work on the gun but tells me that they can't budge the factory rear sight. I know the gun is known for having difficult to remove rear sights but I thought a gun smith would be able to do it. I took the gun back and bought a budget sight remover and replaced it myself without too much issue. I did not have to hammer the shit out of the factory sight like they did. First of all, they are very communicative with prospective customers. I received a return call within 15 minutes- the only gunsmith i contacted who called me back, not to mention so quickly. Over the phone, extremely professional and welcoming. This is unfortunately a rarity in the gun world- many tradespeople are gruff, condescending, and opaque. I get it, the general public kinda sucks to deal with day in and day out. But this short phone conversation was a pleasure, and i was quickly given an appointment for the next day. When i arrived, i was pleased with the small private lot in the rear of the building. I don't relish walking in public with my long gun bag in southern california! Sean came out to the lot to meet me, which confirmed that i was welcome in this establishment and that he cares for his customers. When we got inside, he checked my carbine and advised me on the errors i had made, suggested multiple solutions, and, best of all, didn't charge me a dime! He even rummaged around in his spare parts box to see if he had the part i needed. We chatted about firearms for some minutes, and at no point was i made to feel inferior or wrong for not having info, or for asking a question.
