After deciding I wanted to get back into hunting after a short 50 year hiatus, I purchased a beautiful Sako 90 Hunter. During the online purchase process, Sako suggested a few FFL's, and Guns LA was one of them. I said yep, although I had never been here, and away we go. A few weeks later, I received an email notice that the rifle had arrived at Guns LA, and I drove over to go through the transfer drill. They buzzed me right in, I was greeted by a couple of the guys, and they handled everything right away. Typical easy California transfer: pages of paperwork, produce CDL, provide DNA sample, raise your right hand and swear you are not a communist or a Klingon, take a polygraph...the usual drill. Because they have a highly Yelp rated gunsmith, I handed them the Leopold scope and mounting rings I had purchased and asked them to mount it (yeah...as if I could have mounted it). No problemo. Ten long days later, I returned (and yes, the DROS paperwork stamps the exact minute from the ten days you started the process and you are damn RIGHT I was there at the exact minute to accept my rifle). They gave me a break on the price of mounting the scope since I did the transfer paperwork there, which was generous and unexpected. Everything was perfect. I had an excellent experience at Guns LA in Burbank and can't recommend them enough. About a year ago, I purchased a handgun from another dealer that has since permanently closed. Recently, I noticed some parts were coming loose and was concerned about safety. I reached out to a few shops, and while the first place was willing to help, I felt like they were more focused on trying to sell me something rather than genuinely helping with my issue. Thankfully, I found Guns LA right around the corner. After seeing their great reviews on Yelp and Google, I decided to stop by and I'm so glad I did. Deon helped me from the start and was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He never made me feel uncomfortable and took the time to explain everything clearly. Not only did he inspect and fix my firearm, but he also spent time teaching me how to properly use my Holosun sight and gave me helpful tips to improve my shooting. He even shared a flyer for private training lessons, which I really appreciated. Best of all, there was zero pressure to buy anything. He genuinely cared about helping me, not making a sale. When I returned to pick up my handgun, Deon and Mike explained that the previous dealer had actually left out some important parts, something they couldn't believe. This is the LAST time I step foot at this gun store. I came in a few weeks ago to "thin the herd" to make room for some new offerings coming to this state. Didn't want to waste the time of listing it and going through the hassle of PPT so I thought i'd give consignment a try. After all, the last associate I spoke to at this store claimed they were the largest consignment store in California, a tall order for any gun store. I spent the better part of my morning looking for cases, assessories, etc for the firearms I planned on taking in to Gunsla and finally got there around 1:30PM. This was the first batch of about 15 or so that I planned on taking here in the next 3 years, picking some interesting pieces but leaving the really nice ones for the next batch. I walk into the store and am promptly greeted by a tall friendly guy. I tell him i want to put these on consignment and ask if wants to clear them. He does and ushers me to to another tall guy named Mike. I tell Mike that I want to put these guns on consignment and he says ok, let me check them out. He looks over the guns, asks a couple of questions and goes to type away on his computer. I stand around waiting...... and waiting. I try make conversation and crack a couple of jokes asking if they carry ammo for the RPG they have leaning behind the counter. No smile, just a "i wish" while the other employees laugh. I give up on the small talk with Mike and am just waiting... and waiting. While waiting, i overhear a younger employee showing an off roster M&P 5" with a TLR-7 to a customer. That's a "$700 dollar light on this gun" the employee says, "with a laser" as he tries to find a way to turn on the laser. Unfortunately, there's no laser on the TLR7 and the employee tells the customer that this particular model must not have one. Meanwhile i'm thinking, don't get that, get an on roster and stick a 5" slide, but i keep my mouth shut as the customer doesn't seem like he was there to buy. The gun case to my left catches my attention as i continue to wait for Mike whiles he does whatever he's doing on his computer with my guns. I see a beretta 92x in new condition and i can't help myself but to buy it. As i'm filling out the paperwork, Mike is finally done and comes towards me, at this point, i've been waiting for over 45min. "Oh," he says, "i'll let you finish that" and walks away. I finish the DROS on the 92x and he walks back to me and tells he that I can use the credits for anything in the store or I can get it in cash. I'm confused, but let him finish. He then starts to tell me what he can offer me for the firearms i brought in. Here's the offer: A New Staccato CS - $1000 Like NEW CK Arms Custom 2011 -$500 (they give some BS explanation that it's an SSE, so it's worth 1/8 the price) Used Russian AK47 in 5.56, $250 Unfired Kimber K6S -$200 Unfired S&W 686+ $200 "Uhhhh, i don't understand" I tell him, "i told you I wanted to put these on consignment". "Yea you can do that" he responds with an attitude. "what do you want to get?" he asks. "For the staccato, about $3000" i tell him. "You'll be lucky if you can get $1500," he says. I stand there confused and he tells me to think about it as he walks away to help another customer, without even giving me a chance to respond. He comes back 15 min later and at this point i've wasted over an hour, waiting for Mike to look in his system on how to rip me off. "I'll just hold on to these" i tell him, if i'm only getting $1500 for the Staccato, i'd rather just keep them" "Ok" he says and lets me out the door. I leave the store with all 5 guns. I wait the 10 days and i'm back for the 92x. Within 5 days of initially leaving the store, I sold 4 out of the five and got over 6x the price they quoted me (8x for the custom and staccato still pending). I call in b/c i notice they have the same Staccato on sale, i ask for the price and he asks when it was listed. I tell him and he says the gun already sold. I ask if I can get it for $1500 and he goes on a 2 min rant about it's an off-roster and i'll never pay anything near that for it and i'm looking at 3-4X that price. I tell him what Mike told me and he doesn't have an explanation. If you're wanting to sell firearms, do your research before coming here. I'd hate to say this but the bigger store that starts with a "T" and ends in "ers" is a better option as they won't lie to your face and give you an attitude that you weren't willing to be taken advantage of. Been recommending this store since they opened, now i'll have to tell my club buddies that this store is a complete ripoff. I recently obtained a pre-owned Desert Eagle .44 that had a slide notch worn out and the front sight off centered. I took it to Guns LA because I heard they had a gunsmith on site and was highly rated. I visited the shop, and it did not disappoint. And YOU KNOW this a good gun shop when you see local law enforcement officers IN UNIFORM, at the shop getting some gun works done! The outside of the store is simple and nondescript, save for the Guns LA sign. Front door will not open unless the staff buzz you in. When you walk inside, it is VERY spacious and VERY clean. Everything was very organized. All firearms for purchase in the store are used and under consignment, so it is a very good place to obtain unicorn firearms not available according to Commiefornia's roster list. Glock Gen4 and Gen5, Staccato, M&P off-roster pistols, among others. All available to civilian customers! They have a few accessories available, but I would say this wouldn't be the place to go if you need ammo because as far as I know, they didn't have ammo for sale. Staff is super friendly as well! I met Mike the gunsmith and he straightened the Desert Eagle's front sight free of charge (VERY awesome thing for him to do, as that alone earned a repeat customer!) I took my pistol back to get the slide fixed and after a couple of days, it was fixed with no issues! I will be coming back to this place for all my gun repairs and custom work! read more

I needed to do a private party transfer and I've heard nothing but horror stories about gun stores like Turners not wanting to deal with them because they take up too much time and they just want to sell you a gun. bought five figures worth of stuff, but the entire time I felt like I was being rushed and prodded along (maybe it was because I had store credit). the only helpful one was the bearded black man, he explained everything in great detail. meanwhile, the other big guy had a very dismissive and uncaring attitude. he would prioritize other customers while working on my order. called several weeks later to ask about a missing mag. same big guy picked up and said he'd take a look and get back to me. two weeks later I called again and they said there's nothing that could be done. I preordered a Glock pistol and was treated with nothing but respect each time I visited the shop. The store is clean and well laid out. I was able to take my Firearm Safety Card test on site as well as purchase ammunition. There was a small hiccup with an incorrect magazine sent by Glock, but the shop took care of it swiftly and easily for me.
