If you're completely new to firearms or haven't shot your firearm in a long time, this is probably not the class to start with. Save yourself the money and frustration by taking a basic firearms safety or beginner shooting course first. This class assumes you already understand the fundamentals of firearm safety and handling. Range day is taken very seriously, and the instructors expect you to already know your firearm and follow directions immediately. One instructor in particular, Robert, is extremely professional but also very stern and direct. Some people may mistake that for being harsh, but it's obvious his priority is making sure everyone goes home safely. There is military-style discipline on the range, and yes, there will be raised voices if someone isn't following instructions. That's exactly how it should be when live firearms are involved. As for the classroom portion, Arvin is outstanding. He's respectful, knowledgeable, and makes the class genuinely enjoyable. He has a great sense of humor, keeps everyone engaged, and there's never a dull moment. At the same time, when it's time to get serious, he flips that switch immediately and remains professional. He answers every question honestly, doesn't sugarcoat anything, and explains the laws and responsibilities of carrying a firearm in a way that's easy to understand. For the price, I honestly don't think you'll find a better value. The training is well worth the cost. The only downside is parking. The lot is very small, so I highly recommend arriving at least 30-35 minutes early if you want a chance to park there. Arvin does his best to fit as many vehicles as possible, but most people will likely end up parking on the street. Be aware that some of the surrounding street parking has a two-hour limit, so pay attention to the signs to avoid a potential ticket. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. I would absolutely return to Nationwide CCW for future training and my CCW renewal. After talking with several friends who have taken classes elsewhere, I can honestly say this was one of the best experiences I've heard of. Thank you again to Arvin, Robert, and the entire Nationwide CCW team for providing a professional, informative, and safety-focused class. I highly recommend them. - George Morales read more

I can't recommend Nationwide CCW highly enough. Arvin was great and really focuses on the practical aspects, risks, considerations, etc of obtaining and maintaining a concealed carry permit. There is an absolutely militant level of focus on safety, and I appreciate that so much. I'm glad this is where I did my initial training class and will absolutely be returning for each renewal course in the future. read more

I had a great experience taking my CCW class with this instructor. He was knowledgeable, professional, and made the class easy to follow without making it boring. He took the time to answer everyone's questions and made sure we understood not just how to handle a firearm safely, but also the laws and responsibilities that come with carrying. The range portion was well organized, and he made everyone feel comfortable, no matter their experience level. You can tell he genuinely cares about teaching people the right way. Nationwide was my first and only choice. Arvin does it how it's supposed to be done. Best price in town as well as some perks he'll tell you about before signing up. Very knowledgeable. Blunt. I had a great experience taking the CCW course with Nationwide CCW. The instructor made the class fun, engaging, and easy to follow while covering all of the important information in depth. He used real-life examples and personal experiences that helped explain the material and made it much easier to understand and remember. The class was educational without ever feeling boring. The instructor encouraged questions, was patient, and made sure everyone understood both the legal responsibilities and the practical aspects of carrying responsibly. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to leave feeling confident and prepared. I highly recommend Nationwide CCW to anyone looking for a professional, informative, and enjoyable CCW training course. It was well worth the time, and I left feeling much more knowledgeable and confident. read more

I took the CCW course at Nationwide CCW this past weekend, and I can't recommend it enough. The instructor, Arvin, is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and takes his responsibility as an instructor seriously -- and it shows in every part of the class. This isn't just a box-checking training. Arvin made it clear throughout the course that we were learning things that could genuinely affect our safety and the safety of others, and he treated the material with the seriousness it deserves. He's strict and no-nonsense when it comes to safety protocols, but that's exactly what you want from someone teaching a class like this. Underneath the firm tone, he's genuinely patient, detail-oriented, and clearly cares about making sure every student actually understands the material, not just memorizes it for the test. There were also returning students for renewals after two or four years, and Arvin was able to memorize their faces. It's also more than Arvin. Other instructors and coaches at the range, are also awesome. They know what they are doing, and they love it, and thus respect it. I feel these folks' enthusiasm and passion about it, and that's very important for this course because it roots their seriousness and responsibleness. At the end I walked away having learned far more than I expected, and I feel much more confident and responsible as a result. If you're looking for a CCW class that doesn't cut corners, this is it. Highly recommend Arvin and Nationwide CCW and may see you when I renew my permit because I will definitely return. read more

I had a great experience with Nationwide CCW, specifically with Arvin, for my 1-day CCW renewal course. The course was amazing from start to finish. Arvin is extremely knowledgeable and educational, and he does a great job of explaining everything clearly while keeping the class engaging and informative. What really stood out to me was how accommodating Arvin was when I needed to make a change to my schedule. He was flexible, understanding, and made the entire process easy and stress-free. I have to tell you , I am not a fan of yelp , as a business owner I know how yelp operates. About Nationwide CCW , I love the crew nicest people , knowledgeable friendly professionals prompt, Arvin does the class and the range . He has been doing this for long time he is very friendly and funny in the class , but once he is in the range his attitude will change. He is very serious and he watches everything is going on at the range. Edmond and his son Iden and Robert are at the range as instructor beside Arvin .They are watching every move you make . I took the initial class with Arvin two years ago and did my renewal last week . If you want to learn properly this is the place for you . You need to have some knowledge about gun the rest they will teach you . I highly recommend this place to anyone who want to get thier CCW Certificate. Thanks Arvin,Edmond,Robert,Iden read more

I honestly am at a loss how Nationwide CCW has so many 5 star reviews. Not even any 4s, 3s or 2s. The place is a dump and they pack you in like sardines. Not someplace you want to sit all day. The instructor is bellicose and rude. They even had attitude answering initial questions over the phone - which should have been my first clue. Just a nasty experience - start to finish - that has stayed with me. There are better options. EDIT: They reached out confrontationally trying to verify my identity. No thanks LOL To my fellow Yelpers - feel free to do your own research. Check my profile and see my reviews. I can tell you my experience with them was terrible and my review accurate. read more

I signed up for the weekend two day course. Arvin is the business owner and main instructor. The course is presented in a professional manner with humor at times to keep you engaged. The material is informative and engaging. The classroom is small but that helps keep costs down down so I appreciate the effort to make it as comfortable as possible. Breaks were given throughout the day. Range is about a 30 minute drive away, other instructors are knowledgeable and make it be known that this is a serious course and will keep rules enforced at all times. I will definitely be back as needed as well as recommend this business to my associates. read more

Earlier this January, I took my CCW course with Nationwide CCW instructed by Arvin. I highly recommend his 2-day CCW class. Hands down the price/fees to take his class beats all CCW classes provided by other LAPD-approved instructors/vendors. Arvin is a knowledgeable, qualified professional with 30+ years of law enforcement and firearms training. He explains the complex California CCW laws clearly and in a way that actually makes sense. And he made it all informative and fun by sprinkling in his good sense of humor, while also providing real life scenarios and videos. The 2nd day of class began with the shooting proficiency portion held at a nearby private outdoor range not accessible by the general public. It was well organized for such a big class when I attended. While there was humor interjected in the classroom portion of the class on Day 1, it was all business serious safety-focused shooting proficiency on Day 2 at the range. We shot in groups from 3, 5 and 7 yards for each of the guns (up to 3) that you are qualifying for your permit. The last half of the 2nd day involved going back to the class for a final muliple choice written test. *** The added bonus... Upon receiving our firearms qualification and shooting proficiency certificates after completion of Day 2, that same day we were given the option to get the add-on of getting the Arizona, Utah and/or Florida CCW permit. Arvin provided step-by-step instructions on how to apply online and in just 2 weeks, I received my AZ CCW -- and BEFORE I received my CA CCW! Now I can carry in AZ and the additional 37 states! Overall, Nationwide CCW offers a high-quality course, and valuable information on how to obtain a multi-state CCW permit. Arvin is an excellent instructor. I highly recommend this class to anyone applying for or renewing their CCW. If you're still on the fence after getting this far... "God damn it!" Just sign up for his class already! read more

The Nationwide CCW class were a great and eye opening experience. I attended the weekday course and was extremely impressed with the quality of instruction. Arvin is very knowledgeable and very passionate, and his 30 years of experience truly show throughout the class. The course does an excellent job of making you aware of all aspects of what to expect when carrying concealed. While he covers the basic firearm safety principles that experienced gun owners should already know, he also dives into important topics that many people may not normally consider, such as legal concerns, mental health, situational awareness, de escalation, and the responsibilities that come with carrying a firearm. And most important the meaning of imminent danger. Arvin is very professional while also keeping the class engaging with his sense of humor. I particularly enjoyed the discussions about applicable laws, as well as the real world stories and videos he shared to reinforce important concepts and lessons. He does a great job of keeping everyone involved and interested throughout the course. One thing that stood out to me was how he reviewed every missed exam question with the class to ensure everyone understood the material. I also appreciated that he consistently explained the "why" behind the concepts he was teaching rather than simply saying, "This is the law" or "This is the way it is." That approach helped create a much deeper understanding of the subject matter. At the shooting range, I felt safe knowing that Arvin and the other instructors were closely supervising participants and consistently enforcing safe firearm handling practices. Their attention to safety and professionalism was evident throughout the qualification process. For the price and level of instruction provided, this is the class you need to attend. I will absolutely recommend it to friends and family, and I look forward to seeing Arvin and his team again when it is time to renew in two years. read more

So very glad I chose Nationwide CCW for my 16-hour training this weekend (12/27, 12/28). Within the first hour, it was clear to me the instructor (Arvin), and his 30+ years of firearm training, that I made the right choice for my CCW training. From the range to the classroom, his "down to earth" approach in sharing his wealth of experience was not only informative beyond my expectations but also enjoyable. The topics Arvin covered ranging from mental health ...to safe handling... to laws and penal codes...to being a responsible gun owner both inside and outside the home is money well spent by any gun owner, regardless of a required CCW certification upon completion. I recently completed my 2-day CCW qualification with Arvin Younan at Nationwide CCW, and I cannot recommend this course enough. What sets Arvin apart is his ability to balance a great vibe and a sharp sense of humor with the extreme seriousness of the subject matter. He doesn't just teach you how to shoot; he spends a significant amount of time focusing on the legal consequences of self-defense shootings in California. This part of the class was eye-opening and essential--he makes sure you understand that the decision to pull the trigger is the absolute last resort and carries life-altering legal weight. The classroom portion was never dry because Arvin keeps everyone engaged, but he also has zero tolerance for ego or unsafe behavior, which I really appreciated as a student. The Range Experience: The qualification at the range was exceptionally well-managed. Arvin brought along three additional instructors, ensuring a very high instructor-to-student ratio. Having four professionals watching the line made the entire process feel incredibly safe and organized. They were helpful, calm, and focused on ensuring everyone followed protocol to the letter. If you are looking for an instructor who is professional, legally knowledgeable, and runs a tight ship while keeping the atmosphere welcoming, Arvin is your guy. Bottom line: If you want to be a responsible CCW holder in CA, train with Nationwide CCW. UPDATE: Regarding 1-star review from Gabe Ruediger. He wasn't expelled from the class because he asked instructor a question about "lethal weapon" registration. He was expelled (twice) due to a persistent pattern of aggressive behavior, verbal harassment of instructors and students, and a total lack of the emotional self-control required for safe firearm certification. I was in the same class with him and witnessed it all. The instructor handled the situation very professionally and gave him multiple opportunities to correct his behavior before finally asking him to leave for the safety of the class. read more

I recently completed the CCW course through Nationwide CCW and had a great experience from start to finish. The course was extremely thorough and covered all of the important topics you need to know as a responsible concealed carry permit holder. Arvin took the time to explain not only the laws and regulations, but also real-world scenarios, safety considerations, and best practices for carrying a firearm. The material was presented in a way that was easy to understand, informative, and engaging. I never felt rushed, and every question was answered professionally and respectfully. Range day was equally impressive. Safety was clearly the top priority, and the instructors maintained a well-organized, controlled environment throughout the qualification process. The range commands were clear, the staff was attentive, and I felt comfortable and confident the entire time. read more
