Excellent staff, great range, very good pricing, and beginner friendly. I ended up getting a membership on my second visit, and have been going routinely ever since.

Good place for small groups to trap shoot together. It had a knotts berry farm feel, so it's wasn't just a boring range. Different spots and different paths for the targets. We went do bbq night, but the menu was tacos, etc.? Friendly and helpful staff.

My wife and I are new to sporting clays, and after looking online and reading the reviews about Moore and Moore, I bought a membership before we even got there. The course is beautiful, the place is always nice and clean, the people are so friendly and welcoming, and the BBQ's are amazing! We also booked a lesson with Al- who taught us range safety and etiquette. He was super nice and took us through all the steps- even helped me set up my shotgun. I highly recommend a lesson with Al. A very BIG thank you to Bianka and Courtney- some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They've always been quick to help newbies like us. If you're new like us, or experienced, I definitely recommend checking out Moore and Moore. Cosmic Clays and Wednesday nights is an absolute MUST (did I mention the BBQ is incredible?!) Bianka- thanks again. We really appreciate all you've done! Yelp really needs to have a Gold Star feature. This is a place that deserves it.

Halloween is especially fun with blacklight lit stations.

Found this place a few years ago. Love this place. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. I always go with friends when we're able to the Wednesday night BBQ & shooting - what fun! The cooks always cook up a great meal! For these nights, in order to ensure your spot for a meal, you now have to reserve online. Too many people have 'no showed' leaving the cook with unclaimed food. So, if you want to go, reserve your spot and show up! It helps them plan your meal and don't leave them with uneaten food - a big expense if it goes unpaid for. I refer it to golf with several (nearly 18) shooting stations each providing different type of angles to challenge and build your skill.

We visited for my husband's 56th birthday. We were a party of 5, with 3 of us never ever laying a finger on a gun. My oldest daughter was super nervous about even going. Due to it being our first tome ever clay shooting I thought best to book the private lesson. I am extremely happy I did. My first experience was with speaking with Courtney in seeing if we could change our appointment to an earlier time, which she quickly checked into and followed up with me. The day of, we met Bianka who was super sweet in greeting us, getting us set up, and introducing us to our instructor, Johnathan. OMG, Johnathan was AWESOME! He was patient, fun, and informative. I don't think we would have had as much fun as we did without him. He made us all feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe. I HIGHLY recommend him. This place is awesome. A great place for the family to spend time with each other.

Pro tip - if you're coming here, do NOT take a Lyft unless you have a specific planned Lyft to take you back We came here during my brothers bachelor party one day and had a blast. The blonde girl at the front desk was super friendly and even though most of us were amateurs that didn't know what the heck we were doing, she took the time to explain how to LOS the shotgun / proper protocol to handle. They have different bases to shoot from and you kind of just jump from one to the other whenever you're done and one is open. This was super cool because we never got bored and we're constantly able to compete against new targets/ flight paths. The only issue was we got stranded since no Lyfts or taxis wanted to pick us up from here around 5pm on a Saturday and take us back to DTLA. Fortunately one of the instructors (Asian guy) was nice enough to take us to town where we eventually were able to get a Lyft to take us back. All in all, highly recommend this place!

Went here on my birthday recently on a whim. My GF and I have shot guns plenty, just never had a chance to try sporting clays. We had zero experience shooting at moving targets. Our instructor, Josie, was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. I have had experiences with other sports (*cough* bicycling *cough*) where the store clerks treat you like crap, are condescending and mean if you are not a veteran or expert of the sport. That was not the case here. Josie explained things clearly and simply without talking down to us. We had a great time and will come back for sure. Regarding COVID stuff, there were marks on the floor in front of the cash register to remind you of social distancing and all the staff were wearing masks. I am a worry wart and I felt totally comfortable. Unsolicited advice for other rookies: don't go and watch a bunch of YouTube videos in advance. Too much thinking messed me up a bit. Just show up with an attitude of "willing-to-learn" and you will have an awesome time (and maybe a sore shoulder).

How's their ammo stock for 20 gauge?

Currently with the ammunition shortage, we don't have 20ga. Plenty of 12 though!

Can we take our own clay and ammo?

You can take your own "target" ammo. Can't shoot your own clays though.

The range officer, James, was rude, unprofessional, and used profanity while interacting with customers. There is no excuse for treating paying customers that way. After my target frame broke while I was shooting, James ordered me to retrieve the broken frame. I complied, but afterward I reviewed the posted range rules and could not find any rule stating that customers are responsible for retrieving broken target frames. My issue isn't with following reasonable instructions--it's with being spoken to disrespectfully and being expected to follow what appeared to be an unwritten policy. If retrieving broken target frames is an official requirement, management should clearly post it instead of leaving customers to be confronted over it. After reading other reviews, I noticed multiple customers describing similar experiences with the same range officer. It makes me wonder whether customer feedback is actually taken seriously, because the same complaints seem to have been raised repeatedly. Safety is critical at any shooting range, but professionalism and respect are just as important. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and addresses both the behavior of its staff and the lack of clear communication regarding this policy.

This is a well-run shooting club in Santa Clarita. If you're coming from LA, it's actually just…read morebefore you get into Santa Clarita. There are multiple ranges, depending on what you want to shoot, a restaurant with quality food, a small bar (they do not allow you to shoot after drinking, but the reverse is fine), a gun shop with a very good selection and knowledgeable staff, and several events throughout the year. What really makes this place great is the staff at the ranges. If they see someone doing something unsafe, they call it out and put a stop to it immediately, which is what you want at a gun range. But more than that, they're friendly and more than willing to help you with tips on shooting or with any weapon malfunction--very important for new shooters. Guys like Savage and Jimmy really help make the rifle range an enjoyable experience. As far as the different ranges, there is a long row of shotgun clay/skeet shooting at the front when you pull in. That's also where you find the restaurant and some clean bathrooms. There is also a small shop with clothing, accessories, and some very high-end shotguns. This is where you check in for the shotgun range. To head to the archery range, park there and make a left past the main building and up a hill. I haven't been to the archery range yet, so I can't comment on it. For the rifle range, continue to the left past the ramp for the archery range. It's a bit of a walk, especially if you're carrying a bunch of weapons and ammo. It's paved, and I believe they have golf carts available to help transport you if you're disabled or just need the help. There is a small shop where you check in, with accessories, ammo, and targets available for purchase, as well as various rifles available for rent. At the rifle range, you can shoot most calibers of rifle, shotgun, or handgun (but no hollow points), so it's fun for all. You can set up cardboard target stands or use the steel targets spread throughout the range. I'm not sure how far back it goes--probably about 75-100 yards. I've heard a rumor that if you bring in a watermelon or pumpkin, you can shoot it, but I haven't checked the validity of that yet. The only negative about the rifle range is that the only bathrooms there are porta potty's. For the pistol range and gun shop, when you pull into the parking lot, instead head to the right, where there is an additional smaller parking lot. There are some nicer bathrooms out front. Inside is the pro shop/gun shop, where the guys (I think their names are Frankie and Rick) are very helpful. If you want to try any of the handguns before purchasing, they have them for rent as well. There is a paper range and a steel range. I believe that, aside from handguns, you can also shoot small handgun-caliber rifles there. At the paper range you can shoot hollow points (at least that was allowed last time I was there), but not at the steel range. There are about 10-12 stalls on each range. I don't think either range extends past 75 yards. For the paper range, you can purchase targets at the shop or bring your own to put on cardboard stands. One of the guys there is extremely helpful if you need tips or have any questions. I believe his name is Page-hope I got that right. On the steel side, they have a plethora of steel targets set at different distances. The nice thing about the steel range is that you never have to stop and wait while people change out their targets. There are also an additional two speed plate lanes at the end that are first come, first served. Again, the employees do a good job of keeping an eye on everyone and maintaining a safe environment. Don't forget to bring ear and eye protection. But if you need it, they have both available. I don't think they currently charge you to borrow either. They also have memberships available, with massive discounts on the membership a couple of times a year during events. One tip - if it's your first time, make sure you fill out the waivers online before you go. It will save you time when you get there. There is a main waiver everyone signs, plus additional waivers for each range you plan on using (ie shotgun, rifle, archery, pistol, etc.). I highly recommend Oak Tree to anyone looking to try shooting for the first time, anyone looking to purchase a firearm and try it out first, and experienced shooters looking for a good, safe, convenient place to shoot.

Very pleasant range tucked away in the hills by Valencia/Santa Clarita…read more Good service at the desk, you can and should sign waivers in advance via their website for smooth processing. They have a great selection of rentals if you so happen to need it or want to try stuff out, pricing is available on their website. This visit I enjoyed their steel pistol range, they have an option to shoot paper as well on a separate part of the pistol range. The bays are nice and wide, lots of space to comfortably shoot on the steel range. Reasonable pricing and the location is a nice and quiet woodsy forest vibe. There is parking in front of the club/restaurant/shotgun range (Rifle is to the left), as well as if you hit a right, there was a bit of parking in front of the pistol ranges and gun store. This place is a must try for any hobbyist, recreational or professional shooter.

The class provided structure, guidelines, and valuable considerations on when to use lethal force, how to apply it effectively, and how to do so while minimizing collateral risks and maximizing the chances of prevailing in court (especially important here in California). Most importantly, it emphasized how to carry yourself in a way that reduces the likelihood of ever needing to deploy lethal force in the first place. For context, I have a competitive shooting background and am confident in my ability to put accurate rounds on target quickly - both in a square-range and more dynamic settings. My weakness? Applying that skill in real-world situations. Marksmanship is just one side of the coin. Tactics - the knowledge of how and when to employ that marksmanship - is the other. This class helped tie those two sides together, showing how to maximize survivability during an incident and in the post-incident aftermath involving law enforcement, prosecutors, jurors, and the inevitable Monday-morning quarterbacks. Looking forward to ITTS creating Tactical Concepts 2 and 3... Highly recommend for anyone who wants to take their skills beyond just hitting the target.

Roughly half the class time was spent listening to stories about how great he believes he is, rather than learning the laws surrounding concealed carry. We didn't even get a proper lunch break because so much time was wasted waiting for him to take cigarette breaks. The remaining time was spent being told there is only one correct way to hold a firearm--his way. If you didn't comply exactly, you risked being disqualified. He openly bragged about how many students he disqualifies each session. In my opinion, if a student is disqualified, it reflects a failure in instruction--especially when the issue isn't safety, but not conforming to the instructor's personal preference. He also went off on tangents about not feeling comfortable shopping or spending time in his own neighborhood in Sylmar, saying he prefers to shop in Santa Clarita because he believes his area isn't safe. On top of that, he aggressively pushed Glock firearms, claiming they are the only worthwhile option--conveniently mentioning that he also sells a Glock cleaning course. Overall, this class was a waste of time and money. Basel (unsure of spelling) was an excellent instructor for both the classroom and the practical range time. He kept the atmosphere of the class engaging and upbeat despite some of the lengthier material. Humorous and he knew his stuff. I only got to hear Luis speak to the class for a small portion but he is definitely knowledgeable about gun laws as well. Did not get to see him at the range unfortunately. There was another gentleman there that I didn't get his name but he was very helpful with tips to improve my grip. At the range, I watched the instructors, Bo and Mike, encourage an older woman who was a novice to guns and she was slightly nervous as she was having trouble manipulating her fireman but they were super patient with her. They gave off no condescending energy at all (and I've seen that from other instructors before, especially towards novices and/or women). But Bo and Mike had her shooting on target and I could tell she was so happy and proud of herself by the end of the day. I really appreciated their kindness towards her, they went the extra mile! I learned the history of the most common hand guns used, why someone would prefer one type over another, the differences between single and double action, and how different handguns suit different individuals. Don made sure I felt confident handling the different types. By the time we entered the firing range, I had learned proper stance, range etiquette, how to load a magazine, and the importance of proper technique when racking the slide. But the most unexpected thing I learned was that my nervous system (as a first time shooter) would be taxed. He explained that my first shot would likely be my best shot because once I knew what to expect I would begin to anticipate and I would have a bit of a "fight or flight" response. I never would've expected that and so when it happened, I was well prepared. Even though most people know to expect the sound and the kickback of a weapon, you're not really prepared for it if you've never done it before. Sure enough, my hands got shaky, my breathing got shallow my heart rate raised, but he coached me on how to relax and breathe through it. I was pretty proud of how well I did and I really look forward to my next lesson!

Since moving from Orange County I e been looking for a new indoor range to start practicing at and…read moresomeone suggested Smokin Barrel. I'm glad I listened to their suggestion as it's quickly become my favorite indoor range to practice at. They have a wide selection of firearms in the main shop and a decent selection of accessories for firearms, they're the only shop I've been to in the area with PDP mags on the shelves. They also have a good selection of firearms for rent on the firing lanes. Their staff are also very helpful and friendly. I've been there a few times and a younger guy named Sebastian has helped my newer friends improve their shooting with various tips about their grip and whatnot. I look forward to coming back regularly.

The facility is consistently clean, well-maintained, and operates at a high standard. It's clearly designed for people who want a safe, controlled, and professional environment to practice and improve their firearm skills. What really stands out is the staff. They've always been friendly, knowledgeable, and proactive in offering help without being overbearing. That balance is rare and appreciated. They also offer a strong lineup of safety and training courses, which makes this an ideal place for anyone serious about responsible firearm ownership--especially those focused on protecting their family the right way. Overall, this is a well-run, high-end operation that delivers exactly what it promises.

My wife has been to a range a few times, and I've shot plenty over the years--but I was specifically looking for a place where she would feel comfortable, at ease, and supported with proper instruction and training. My next-door neighbor and close friend highly recommended The Range LA and Bob Wu, and I'm genuinely grateful he did. From the moment we walked in, everything felt professional, welcoming, and upscale. The facility is beautifully designed, spotless, and very well-run. I love that it's members-only--you can immediately tell they take the experience and environment seriously. The staff were amazing: friendly, respectful, and never made us feel rushed. Bob Wu was outstanding. His background, professionalism, and teaching style really stood out. He made my wife feel completely comfortable and confident throughout the lesson, and she truly enjoyed it--so much so that she's already planning to book more sessions. I was originally there mainly to support her, but Bob was so impressive that I decided to jump in too, and I'm really glad I did. They truly live up to their motto: "LA's only premier indoor shooting range." I'll be becoming a member, and I can't recommend The Range LA (and Bob) enough. If you want a clean, high-end, professional place where you'll feel supported from start to finish--this is it.
