My husband and I are both new to shooting clays and booked a lesson with Al. He is the BEST. He is kind, encouraging, and gently coaches you in a way that takes away any intimidation you might be feeling. I was impressed at how great his observations are -- he corrected my stance, how to move (using hips versus just arms), what part of the target to aim at so you can correctly gauge how much lead to give the clay in motion. I'd shot clays once before and didn't ever hit my target, this time I managed to hit a lot of them! It made a huge difference to have such a good teacher. My husband also shot very well with Al's guidance. The facility itself is nice -- plenty of different stations to shoot from, clean restrooms, and super nice staff. Shooting guns is a bit frowned upon in Southern California. Unfortunately, i think that is because few places do it right. Moore n Moore does it right. Customers are safe and respectable. The community around this business is great! The stands are changed frequently and provide opportunities for nearly overhead shooting and fun canyon shots. Found this place a few years ago. Love this place. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. I always go with friends when we're able to the Wednesday night BBQ & shooting - what fun! The cooks always cook up a great meal! For these nights, in order to ensure your spot for a meal, you now have to reserve online. Too many people have 'no showed' leaving the cook with unclaimed food. So, if you want to go, reserve your spot and show up! It helps them plan your meal and don't leave them with uneaten food - a big expense if it goes unpaid for. Due to it being our first tome ever clay shooting I thought best to book the private lesson. I am extremely happy I did. My first experience was with speaking with Courtney in seeing if we could change our appointment to an earlier time, which she quickly checked into and followed up with me. The day of, we met Bianka who was super sweet in greeting us, getting us set up, and introducing us to our instructor, Johnathan. OMG, Johnathan was AWESOME! He was patient, fun, and informative. I don't think we would have had as much fun as we did without him. He made us all feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe. I HIGHLY recommend him. This place is awesome. Pro tip - if you're coming here, do NOT take a Lyft unless you have a specific planned Lyft to take you back We came here during my brothers bachelor party one day and had a blast. The blonde girl at the front desk was super friendly and even though most of us were amateurs that didn't know what the heck we were doing, she took the time to explain how to LOS the shotgun / proper protocol to handle. They have different bases to shoot from and you kind of just jump from one to the other whenever you're done and one is open. This was super cool because we never got bored and we're constantly able to compete against new targets/ flight paths. The only issue was we got stranded since no Lyfts or taxis wanted to pick us up from here around 5pm on a Saturday and take us back to DTLA. Fortunately one of the instructors (Asian guy) was nice enough to take us to town where we eventually were able to get a Lyft to take us back. All in all, highly recommend this place! read more

Went here on my birthday recently on a whim. My GF and I have shot guns plenty, just never had a chance to try sporting clays. We had zero experience shooting at moving targets. Our instructor, Josie, was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. I have had experiences with other sports (*cough* bicycling *cough*) where the store clerks treat you like crap, are condescending and mean if you are not a veteran or expert of the sport. That was not the case here. Josie explained things clearly and simply without talking down to us. We had a great time and will come back for sure. Regarding COVID stuff, there were marks on the floor in front of the cash register to remind you of social distancing and all the staff were wearing masks. I am a worry wart and I felt totally comfortable. Unsolicited advice for other rookies: don't go and watch a bunch of YouTube videos in advance. Too much thinking messed me up a bit. Just show up with an attitude of "willing-to-learn" and you will have an awesome time (and maybe a sore shoulder). read more

I love this place. Cory, the owner, is just a straight up good guy who welcomes everyone like they're coming to his own backyard. The employees are all helpful and kind, things in short supply at many shooting ranges. The sporting clay setup is a little unusual, but that's why I love it. Most sporting clay setups are basically in fields with varying amounts of vegetation. This place is nestled into hillsides and valleys, sometimes forcing you to shoot down on targets instead of up. It's a great and beautiful place, and a first class experience. Try their Wednesday night specials or come to a weekend funshoot or sanctioned meet, both accompanied by excellent food including home made barbecue!!! Amazing sporting range, the 18 shooting galleries almost make it feel like you're golfing 18 holes, just with a shotgun. Shooting galleries have a great variety of clay patterns, never getting dull and accommodating all experience levels from novice to expert. They also have events/competitions pretty regularly, so you can track your development. Cory is also always a pleasure to interact with - he waived the startup fees when my membership was cancelled b/c I lost my wallet, cancelled all my cards and didn't have the foresight to renew my membership. Happy to have found this place in the midst of the pandemic. Pro tip: If you plan on coming here on a regular basis, get the membership and at least the 1000 clays bulk deal, membership fees are paid off just on the ammo discount alone ($30/visit) and the clay rate is a little over half. The BEST sporting clays range in Southern California, period. Beautiful, amazing range in the hills gives you lots of different presentations. Close, FAR, fast, slow, crossers, droppers, rabbits, it has it all! The owner Cory and the staff are top-notch, friendly and helpful. The level of customer service could not be better and the staff are always an absolute pleasure to deal with. The machines and different stations are always in great working condition, very few if any broken clays or issues with throwers. Brand new, clean and stocked bathrooms! A friend of mine and I went for the first time last night for the night shoot and bbq. We had an amazing time and the staff and people there were super cool and friendly. Bianca was awesome and took care of us checking us in and giving us some tips and we had Cole as an instructor since it had been five years since I last shot sport clays and my friend had never done it.
