I was first very aware of the great things they do through becoming more familiar with veterans-based organizations at my workplace. I signed up to volunteer through the UCLA Volunteer Center for its December 2018 "One Bus, One Cause" event there. I was among about 800 volunteers from various groups who participated that day. Some things to remember before you go in to volunteer there: * Parking is limited, so you may want to carpool, be dropped off, or park down the street and walk up * Photo ID to show to security * Keep your possessions in your car; they don't have a place to store your items * Sign a release waiver (they have it on their website) * Lead volunteers in the blue shirts do provide handy tips to make your job easier, so do keep an open mind * Various jobs while there: Fill care packages (most popular), make paracord bracelets, stuff teddy bears for the kids of our troops, write letters to our troops, or perform a quality review of those letters I may try the paracord bracelets or stuffing bears on my next visit!

My son and I were invited to 2 baby showers within 2 months a part. Different people. Service by the employees were impeccable. They were all nice, friendly and helpful. All ladies and gentlemen were on top of things to make sure everything was up to par. You can have any type of events from baby shower to wedding, to birthdays, baptism, to engagement parties, holiday gatherings, bridal showers and more. You can also bring your own food. I don't know if they provide that for their guests.Venue visits are by appointment only!!. They are open for Private event rentals, accommodate up to 150 guests. They also do volunteer Services to schools, libraries, churches and hospitals. As mentioned earlier each package is different with their pricing. Depending on what you are interested in. We've had such a wonderful experience with Weekday so far! My son started attending the Parent & Me…read more(Hand in Hand) class last year, and from the very beginning, it has been such a nurturing, loving, and welcoming environment. You can truly feel how much the teachers and staff care about the children and how dedicated they are to helping each child feel safe, supported, and loved. The school has a beautiful playground, with so many different stations for the kids to explore. It's also been so wonderful getting to know the other parents and watching the kids build friendships. There is a strong sense of community. Now, my daughter is attending Hand in Hand as well, and I'm so happy that both of my kids get to be part of such a wonderful community. We are loving our experience with Weekday and would highly recommend it to other families!

The staff, the admin, the socio and emotional skills our kids are learning here is unmatched to any other program in the valley. They do snack time everyday, and when the kids are a little older (3-5) they teach them how to serve themselves water, and snack. From the beginning they teach the kids how to politely ask for more, be patient while waiting, and to thank the parents who bring in snack. It's a wonderful, nurturing environment that I would recommend 10 times over. And if you have a little one not quite ready for school (age wise) look at their hand and hand program for caregivers and little ones!

I didn't have anything too specific in mind but after some browsing I got excited to find some really nice professional blouses to wear for next week. The store is very clean and the clothes seem clean too. It seems like the clothes are hung by color not by size which makes it hard for me in my opinion to search. I pulled out some really cute things but they were not my size and there's allot of moving hangers noises while everyone is searching but you get used to it and tune it out at some point. I found 2 nice blouses, 1 nice professional sweater, and 2 nice casual sweaters. I also browsed the other aisles containing home goods and found two cute hooks. I don't understand the tag system though, they have color codes like yellow tags, orange tags, etc and I couldn't figure out what each color means. The only downside is not being able to try on things before purchase and they have final sales policy. Sizing can be off and you can't trust a tag. I usually wear medium to large but some brands sizing isn't the same as others, so right there in the aisle i decided to try on the size small blouse to see if it would fit over my shirt and it did fit but the whole time I was doing that I was worrying someone would tell me I can't do that. Anyways I used that blouse as a comparison with others to make sure they seemed the same size lol. I like the store and it was fun finding gems in the sea of clothes! Since then, I have been a regular patient of both MEND's dental and medical services. Their dental doctors give me deep-teeth-cleanings every three months - to keep my "pearly whites" healthy and bright! Moreover, their vision doctors give me two comprehensive eye exams, yearly - with a pair of fashionable glasses to match. Although I am 62, MEND's health programs keep me looking, feeling and acting like I am in my mid 40's. My vision is excellent for my age; I've only lost six teeth and my health is above-normal. MEND maintains State-of-the-Art equipment and technologically current personnel. The MEND Doctors have Big-Fun in the clinic. You may have to endure some brilliant, esoteric music or videos when you are having your "mug" fixed. Therefore, I cherish my MEND Doctors, who heart-fully call me by name. The hardest thing for me not many can guide you or inform you the people to take you to temporary housing and then permanent housing. Majority of people are not aware of the process it is not instant and takes time for myself and my brother it's almost a year and finding out people discriminate on the homeless whether it's a racist issue or stereo types it is sad we need kindness forward to try to make a little impact of a smile and saying good morning no one is better than other but the true kindness of the heart is priceless. Happy Holidays and always appreciate and thank God you are above being close to poverty you never know if that happens to you but be grateful.
