This park was perfect for an overnight stay on our way to Valley of Fire. They offer easy online booking and the price was reasonable. They have power and water for most site but you WILL have to hit the dump station on your way out. Small, quiet campground next to the airport in Summit. However it is very peaceful and you'll hear more trains than see planes. Sites are all pull through and look to be able to handle bigger rigs. We arrived late, but checked in online with no issues. I would highly recommend you have a self contained rig as they do close their bathrooms at 1030p which is a bit odd. We were here rail failing the "hill," so it was a perfect spot for us. read more

Small RV park connected to a sail plane airport. I visited as a quick getaway to test systems on my new RV. Online reservations were a breeze, although a little pricey as the sites only provide power (15, 30, and 50 amp), fresh water (decent water pressure), but no sewer. There is an on-site dump station at no additional cost to overnight guests. The park is clean and well maintained, and the staff is friendly. There is book and movie borrowing from the office at no additional charge. The public restrooms and showers are clean. There is also on-site laundry (additional cost). The park is about 5 minutes from town and close to hiking trails. Watching the planes take-off and land was super interesting, and can be loud at times, so if that's not your thing, look elsewhere. read more

The grounds weren't leveled which makes it difficult for many goers. There was a teenage girl working who was upset that our kids were throwing rocks (not at anyone or anything in particular) I was outside ensuring theirs and others safety, however the teenage girl asked for them not to be throwing their rocks. The dump station isn't connected to your area, it's located on the side of their office, which makes it difficult for larger trailers to dump. read more

I've stayed here several times. It's a good stop on the way to the eastern Sierra. It's clean and the people who work here are pleasant. This time, someone's dog barked loudly from 4:30 am without stopping and nobody did anything about it. They need to enforce quiet hours. I'm just sitting here listening to this cursed hound bark and bark and bark. It's been HOURS. So much for sleeping. read more

Of many weeks on the road, this RV park is our favorite. Lovely sites with beautiful trees and easy amenities. Owned by the same folks that have the glider Airport, I highly recommend the ravens nest café above the airport office. We had the best breakfast, fresh vegetable omelette with lots of fresh fruit. read more

Had a one nighter here and glad we did. It's tucked down a few miles from the Flying J so it was convenient for me personally. The lady who checked us in was very welcoming. She did warn us about the Coyote out at the airfield and she was right. After setting up camp, there was the Coyote searching for ground squirrels. I would not leave your pets unattended. We had water and electricity at our site. The dump station is located right in front of their office. There's a laundry room available as well. I do wished we would see activity at the airfield. Perhaps it was late Sunday. The weather and sunset was beautiful. I'd return for sure if an opportunity arises. read more

What a great find! The location is about two miles from the highway, likewise downtown. Quiet. Next to a glider port that is very cool and has a breakfast and lunch grill. RV park has mostly pull-thru spaces. Nothing fancy, but clean, and friendly. Jasmine told us about the farmers market and glider port. Room to walk the dog. It's right off of the glider runway. A little coffee shop is just a walk up the camp driveway. In the morning I got to see a coyote hunting. Last night we got to see lots of bunnies. In the morning I recommend grabbing a cup of coffee and a cup of fruit and watch the gliders going up starting at 9am. Just be aware, if you are a light sleeper, nearby train horns will keep you up all night. read more

We had a brief stop here for much needed rest coming in from Kanab Utah. Reserved online after calling to make sure there was room. We came in late and our name was on the office door map. Lazy Liars! Restrooms closed since November and they say it's due to COVID. All other California RV Parks have theirs open. $40 is a rip off. No sewer connection, No WiFi, No Shower or toilet facilities! Unacceptable! She told us those things were considered a Bonus. WHAT???? Said they weren't included in the price. What a sorry excuse. They advertise all those amenities and don't provide them. We will never be back. All dirt sites and NOT Pet Friendly as everywhere is marked "No Pets". Beware and stay away. This is such a neat place to RV! You can sit next to your rig with your morning coffee and watch the gliders. The sites a good size, but bring a rug since they are mostly dirt and (little bits of) gravel..The restrooms and laundry room are sufficient. One evening, we were awakened by some very bizarre sounds. My husband claimed it was squirrels. I must defend him since he was sound asleep when I asked him to listen. :) The next morning we found out we were hearing coyotes calling out to each other. Within walking distance, you'll find a fun little restaurant by the airport. The food is good and the folks working there, are very friendly and knowledgeable. We are contemplating gliding the next time we stay at this park, and we will be back! We've met some of the friendliest people right here at this unique RV park. read more

Nice, clean and friendly place. Found them listed on the internet as we looked for a place to stay overnight on our drive back home from our Thanksgiving weekend. Drove up without reservations or calling ahead. Got a nice pull through spot that fit our rig and our Jeep Latitude. It was nice not to have to unhook the Jeep! Spots have water and electricity. No sewer hook-up, but they have a dump station on site. The rv park borders to the airport out of which gliders fly in and out. You can see the windmills in the mountains and hear the coyotes at night. Wouldn't mind staying here for a weekend! read more

We've stayed at Mountain Valley RV Park, Tehachapi, CA over the past years with no problems until you have to cancel your reservation. When I made my reservation online it was easy and it gave you the opportunity to cancel your reservation up to 12:00 of the day of your arrival, but with no instructions on how to do it. I telephoned the RV Park, and spoke with the agent and she wouldn't accept my cancellation. The agent instructed me to email the manager and cancel the reservation. I told the agent that we're in another state and don't have the capability to email with our cell phones and the agent replied I will take care of it. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE A DOG! My husband and I are both college educated folks who can both read signs, so we allowed our dog to relieve himself in an area that was unmarked. Steve came out of the office and proceeded to tell us our dog wasn't allowed to do that and if it does it again he will tell us to leave! We couldn't believe it! The whole reason we have an RV is so our dog can travel with us!! We have driven over 8,000 miles and have visited 23 states and we have never been treated this way! They have one little area that is deemed the "dog area". It's full of gopher holes and ant hills, but hey, who cares right? It's just a dog. read more

HELLO!!!? THE AIRPORT AND THE RV PARK HAVE THE SAME ADDRESS!!! GPS TAKES YOU TO THE AIRPORT. Where the road Ts and you see a sign that says anything about Mountain Valley ....go right. OR ASK! We were not told this til the next day. THE RV PARK HAS NO SIGN OF ITS OWN How about putting up a sign ?? nice place, flat campsites and efficiently run. But for the lack of information on How To Get Here! Especially in the dark. After driving around the airport hangars our headlights picked up the reflectors on the camper storage area. It was very iffy and we were at the point of frustration after all day on the road. read more

I am writing this review based on my daughters experience while she was in town visiting. Making reservations for this RV park was easy as a phone call. They were very nice an accommodating for the dates she needed. They reserve your spot with a credit card. It is right next to the glider airport in Tehachapi so you can watch the one plane tow the glider in the air. Then the glider disconnects and glides around. It's really cool to watch. It was 210$ for a week. They only allow one week at a time but we had a family emergency so they allowed them to stay longer. That was really nice they didn't have to leave the hospital and move to another RV park. They have water and electric hook ups. 30 or 50 amp. Do not have dump station at your sight but they do have one that you can hit on your way out. This place also has extended storage for your RV you aren't using . I am not sure the rates for that. They have showers and laundry on site you can see pictures below. Grounds are kept up but the only thing I noticed when I visited her was there is not a lot of shade Areas. It was very warm without the shade. There is a coffee shop on site also called Ravens Nest. They ate there a couple times and said it was okay. They are open Sunday -Sunday 8-4 read more

Love this spot for a stopover. Been here several times. Always enjoyable. Quiet and the view is great. We often watch the glider planes (glider airport next door). Last evening we watched two coyotes in the distance hunting and sometimes fighting over whatever they got. Price is fair. Owners very friendly. Like this place. read more

We've stayed here in the past with no complaints but today was another story. We are moving to this community and dragged a trailer full of stuff expecting to close our escrow and pick up the keys. A thunderstorm knocked out power so that didn't happen. We went to the RV park and asked to drop our trailer for the night to avoid having to go home with it. Owner wouldn't let us put it in the storage yard "too muddy" (it wasnt, I checked) and would have made us pay full price for a campground spot, even though we would be using none of their services and there was plenty of open spaces. Had a chance to help and didn't, so bad review. read more

Once upon a time, this was a favorite spot on our route to and from Arizona and New Mexico from the Bay Area. No more. Signs everywhere are about dog rules -- and I mean everywhere. The laundry and restrooms are closed. Perhaps this is because of Covid, but we have camped in three states this month and every RV park has accessible facilities. Reaching someone by phone can take multiple attempts and there is no way to leave a message and online reservations aren't an option. Perhaps the management has changed. Whatever the reason, it isnt as pleasant as it once was and there is a reduction in service. read more

Would have loved to come here in a not so windy conditions but we're fortunate enough to get a space and not blow around crossing Mohave. Would have loved to see the planes taking off and landing. They have signs everywhere about no dogs on grass at all anywhere. They offer a small little space of sticker weeds for them to eliminate on. No fenced in area to turn loose after driving 6 hours or so. Also no trash can handy to throw away the poop. For the price I wasn't too impressed but for us it's a good location for a halfway point home in AZ a little further away from the trains. It also would have been nice if they built a web site to reserve and pay online. We have a 32 foot MH towing a Jeep. It was a little tight. I think they could put a little money into the grounds and make it more appealing other than staking signs everywhere into the ground. Smh...Pricey for little amenities /water&electric, no WiFi, not dog friendly. read more

This RV park is one of the best ones we have stayed at because of several qualities. It is clean, quiet, Bobbi, the manager is so nice. We have dogs and the park is dog friendly and very well maintained. The bathroom facilities and shower area are very clean. We liked that there is space between each site and a picnic bench. Such a pleasant stopover. Large shaded, pull through sites. Very pleasant ladies checking me in on both my recent stays, coming and going from Yosemite. If the sites were a bit more level, I would have given 5 stars. This is not an amenity-rich park, but everything I wanted. Quiet, off the highway, safe, and comfortable. Only a mile or two off the highway. A Flying J and other RV easy to access businesses for the traveler. This is a really nice RV park up close to the Tehachapi mountain range with lots of trees and wildlife. It is situated along side a general aviation field that offers glider training. All spaces have electric and water, and they have a dump station next to the office. The electrical service is 30 and 50 amp, we use 30 and tripped the breaker a couple of times while running the a/c on high (site #7). We love how quiet and tranquil it is here and will definitely be back. read more
