Granted you have to be in Tehachapi, or know where Tehachapi is, or be wanderIng around southeastern California, or have a sweet GPS. Given all the above transpiring, if you find yourself in the lucky position of needing to do a summer XC run with your sophomore weak-of-heart running daughter, just don't tell her about the steep uphill. You do get to run back down afterward anyway. Should you be able to trick your kids into the run or perhaps a hike, magnificent views await at the overlooks partway and all the way up. We're talking Twitter-background-wallpaper-quality shots (not that I would know). Should I wind up randomly or intentionally in T-town, I'll take another hike, provided I can talk the daughter into it ("no honey this isn't the one you remember, it's an easy hike":).

Bring some dunnage (2x6s, etc) to help level out your RV or trailer, all spots are uneven and are dirt/gravel. It was quiet in the evenings and at night, other than you can/will hear the trains as they're going thru Tehachapi, ~1.5 to ~3.0 miles away, all night and about 5 to 20 minutes apart. I helped a LATE arrival find their spot Friday night, they were having problems seeing the little numbers on each spot's utility post. That and I don't think that they were using the park's map. I would suggest putting bigger numbers on the electrical cover panels and on the side of the posts for this reason, even during the day, the 2" numbers are hard to read for some people. I reviewed the park's map a few times before we drove up. Our only dislikes were the individual(s) smoking (skunk weed) pot nearby and the uneven/unlevel ground in the spots.

Barbara met us on the porch with a smile and gave us the low down on the place. Because this was our first time she offered to lead us to our "behind the gate" spots 6&7. (Take the lead in..... Its a good distance). As we went thru the gate we soon came to the dirt road and left the world behind. We entered into the gorgeous rolling hills of Tehachapi with Brite lake behind us and the backside of Tehachapi Mtn park in front of you. The road winds around a few bends and you then see the large bathroom / shower house and now see just how HUGE the sites are. We got to site 6 & 7 and were very happy. 6 was all dirt, level, and lake side. 7 has a huge concrete pad, small structure, level, and lake side. Our guide left and we set up. Bring an extension cord and extra water hose as the power and water hook ups are not ideally located but considering the remote nature of the spot its amazing to have the amenities at all. Great water pressure and no electricity issues at all. We loved the resort and were surprised when they delivered firewood for free ( free wood ) to our spot. They don't want bark beetles so they give you local wood to burn. Bathrooms were cleaned every day and well kept. Cold water in the showers but oh well. Dump station at the bathrooms for the rigs is nice. Just watch you angle as i had to go in against the arrows and point up hill to het the fun out. Love this place and will return!!!

But if you want something quiet comma well maintained,and peaceful than you have come to the right place. This is a hidden gem. Sure the bathrooms could use a little more care and the showers are fair. We are here with full hook up r v camping. The sides are really accessible and clean. They even have a dump station If your impartial hook ups. Lots of camp sites and you can even come for day use. Cannot stress enough that I highly recommend this site as we come often. Is camp host has always been friendly and helpful to us. Our sites have always been cleaned and maintained. We have come with high water and low water. The fishing is fair but you cannot have body contact with the water. Makes me sad I can't use my paddle board here. But a kayak will do. Definitely recommend you camp out today but please don't take my favorite r v site.

From a non-scooter parent point of view the facilities were great. Clean, kept up and much bigger in person that what you see online. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Customer service is vital for a good review and they had it. They offer accommodations for overnight stays but we opted for a local Airbnb for our family's needs. From a scooter (or skate) point of view Woodward really is one of the best. There are so many parks within the complex for every level of ability. You can see from my pictures the variety they offer both indoor and outdoor. If you have a rider/skater in your family, it's a must go on your list of places to visit. We look forward to coming again. PS - Our boy took second place in his division for the North America Championship.

Today my family of four enjoyed another trip down the lower Kern and several class 3 & 4 rapids. We were treated well, the guides were professional, and we all felt safe. Then the brush fire happened and got relocated to Hungry Valley. Understandable . Both times that they relocated us , Kelly was very accommodating and communicative through text. She made sure that we keep the same day , same time slot no matter what or offer a full refund. When we got to the location in the day of , Silvia and girl (I forgot her name ) who checked us in were very helpful and nice and wanted to make sure we were prepared . During these COVID times , they took our temperature , made sure we sanitized our hands , and put a sanitary head and mouth covering on before putting the sanitized helmet on . We got there an hour early because we had to commute from an hour away and wanted to be on time . They let us ride early as soon as we got there and Sylvia was a fantastic guide . She took amazing pictures of us and made sure we were okay throughout the ride The trail was beautiful and the scenery was captivating . From the second we arrived, the crew made the whole experience feel safe, organized, and FUN. Our guide was fantastic--knowledgeable, encouraging, funny, and somehow managed to make me feel completely comfortable while I was voluntarily launching myself down a river. The scenery was beautiful, the rapids were such a rush, and this ended up being one of those experiences where you finish and immediately think, "I can't believe I actually did that!" If you're nervous or trying white water rafting for the first time, DO IT. Such a great experience and such a fun crew. I would absolutely recommend them--and apparently I'm a river person now. 10/10 adventure. Would panic and paddle again.
