Had not stopped for about ten years but this time I again found the park a nice stop. Roadways are dirt, the pool is not heated, but the staff are very helpful and friendly. Most of the back in spots are 30 amp as they are part of the original park. They have added 7 new drive thru sites with 50 amp and water. No sewer hookup but there is a dump station. The restrooms and showers are old but spotlessly maintained and very clean! Lots of hot water for your shower. This park accepts Passport America so it makes a great discount on the already very fair rates. Easy access to either SR 58 or SR 14. The property looked in better shape than it did the last visit. Grass around a number of sites and the sites clean and level.

They also force to put electricity in your name so they don't have read meters. The worst part of staying in this park is animal feces all over the park because no manager onsite to ensure guest are picking up after their pets. My dogs have been to the vet several times for giardia. If you can find some where else to stay, save yourself a trip to the vet.

It was quiet in the evenings and at night, other than you can/will hear the trains as they're going thru Tehachapi, ~1.5 to ~3.0 miles away, all night and about 5 to 20 minutes apart. I helped a LATE arrival find their spot Friday night, they were having problems seeing the little numbers on each spot's utility post. That and I don't think that they were using the park's map. I would suggest putting bigger numbers on the electrical cover panels and on the side of the posts for this reason, even during the day, the 2" numbers are hard to read for some people. I reviewed the park's map a few times before we drove up. Our only dislikes were the individual(s) smoking (skunk weed) pot nearby and the uneven/unlevel ground in the spots.

Actually 3.5 stars - great location for an overnight stop if you are traveling from San Diego area…read moreto Bishop/Mammoth Lakes, about a 4.5hr drive. Lupe & Mike are friendly & helpful. There are plenty of places nearby to dry camp & park overnight for free. But $42/night ($37 Passport America price in Oct) for full hookups, near our route, is worth it to us. The place is rustic & worn, especially the 'restroom' - single working shower & single toilet - bring your own TP & hand towel. There's a cell tower nearby so reception is good. Highway 58 is close but far enough the freeway noise isn't too bad; frequent train noise so keep your windows closed esp at night. Highway 395 is ~6mi east. Gravel sites are level & clean, we didn't bother leveling for one night. Not fancy for sure, no Wi-Fi or pool, but we'll stay here again if traveling this way. Love's Travel Stop gas/diesel is 1/2mi away.

Propane fire pits with comfy chairs provided in the middle of the campground is an added bonus. We will come back year after year.
