Stayed here for a couple of nights in August to celebrate my husband's birthday. We stayed in the Star Room. Very comfortable and cute. Diana the owner was very accommodating and friendly and was happy to discuss local activities and places to eat. We'll be back again soon!!!

What a lovely gem Tucktaway in the mountain. We recently had to stay in the Jordan room and it was absolutely fabulous. Everything was in order and where it needed to be the artwork hanging on the wall welcomed you as you came in the fireplace was immaculate in the private balcony was icing on the cake. We made the drive from Los Angeles which only took about 60 minutes but it was well worth it. The innkeeper made it such a painless process everything was ready for us and good to go. I can't say enough about how pleased we are with our stay at the Pine Mountain Inn. You're in walking distance of the little town center which has a general store, a Little boutique store, art store. We were lucky enough to visit all three and came away with some goodies. If you get hungry there's a pizza parlor in the vicinity and also a Mexican restaurant. We dined at the Mexican restaurant and they were so hospitable and the food was delicious thank you Lena. I am looking forward to my return to the Pine Mountain Inn, once the snow starts falling that will be my cue to head up and enjoy a nice glass of wine while it snows outside and the fireplace crackling..

Beautiful Place, very homey and welcoming. The Inn keepers are kind and genuine. The location is amazing, walk to shops and dinning. I wanted to stay longer, next time I will

We decided at the last minute to go and investigate Pine Mountain Club and needed a place to stay. Tony took our reservation and it was like we had known each other for a lifetime. So before we left we knew the hospitality was going to be five star. On arrival Tony and his wife Elizabeth didn't let us down. They were so welcoming and helpful. The Inn is so peaceful and relaxing. Rooms were spotless and comfortable. We left having made new friends and feeling like we had a months vacation.

My family and I were stranded in a snow storm of over 2 feet in a 24 hour period. We were so incredibly lucky that Diana was able to help us. This was like staying at your grandma's house. Whatever we needed she was able to help. The room was warm and spacious. The fireplace kept us extra warm. Located in the Village you are next to restaurants and a 2 min walk to the general store. Next time we are in PMC will definitely be staying here. Thank you Diana for all of your hospitality

Talk about hospitality! I had such a wonderful stay at the Pine Mountain Inn, in Pine Mountain Club, this weekend. This charming cabin style hotel has rooms that are uniquely different from one another. The views from the balcony were spectacular and we enjoyed a beautiful starry night. Our in room coffee maker was coupled with a large variety of coffee choices. The gorgeous fireplace gave the room a majestic feel and I sincerely wish it would have been cold enough to light the fire! Next door there is a quaint restaurant called "The Hideaway" that offers indoor and outdoor dining with live bands on the weekends. As hotel guests we had the opportunity to get a pass to visit the new larger pool at the Clubhouse. It was so invigorating on such a hot day! The new owners spared no expense with a complimentary bottle of wine that was chilled and ready for us upon arrival. Needless to say, we will definitely be back!

The owners put so much thought into their rooms and hospitality. We come up here about once a year to coincide with the car show.

The hot, homemade breakfast prepared by Adriana each morning far exceeded our expectations--so much more than the standard continental breakfast. Every dish was made with care and felt truly special. Both Adriana and Jim were exceptional hosts--warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. They made us feel less like guests in their own home and more like part of their extended family. Their charm and genuine hospitality set this place apart. While a bit of light maintenance could be done in some areas, it's easily overshadowed by the outstanding service and the overall experience. Jim was there to meet us and show us our room. We got The Cowboy Room on the second floor (no live cowboys included! ) which we selected so that we could have separate beds. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. There were no other guests, so we had the whole floor to ourselves. It was super quiet and peaceful. I imagine it would be different if there was a house full guests. Jim gave us suggestions on things we could do and places to visit. He also gave us the code for the door, the wifi password, and warnings about bears. We opted to walk around the area and enjoyed a fantastic dinner at The Perch restaurant just a few minutes walk down the road. Coffee was available at 8 the next morning, Adriana made breakfast ready by 830am. We had eggs in hash brown cups, sausages, maple scones, toast with a variety of spreads, and fresh orange juice. Everything was delicious. Sorry I didn't take pictures, I was too busy eating! I was able to eat everything on the table. I had mentioned our list of food allergies upon reserving online and also emailed the list closer to the date. The communication was excellent. I would love to stay at Old Bear B n B again. Thank you, Jim and Adriana, for making us feel so comfortable and welcome.

Some caveats: * If the majority of your guests are coming from LA and are pretty much city dwellers, it's going to be an adventure getting here. It's literally in the middle of nowhere and at the wedding we attended, THREE cars ended up in a ditch (pre-wedding, so not as a result of drunkenness)... There are no paved roads leading to the venue. I'm from Kentucky originally so I've seen this before and was OK driving on these sorts of "roads"... but a lot of people aren't. * Bathrooms for guests are porta-potties. * Nearest hotel options are about a 20-minute drive away. * It's entirely outdoors. The indoor space is only for the bridal party to get ready and for the catering (which I believe you have to arrange yourself). Again, if that's what you're looking for - this can be very pretty. My friends had a fantastic wedding and the staff at the venue was remarkably friendly and did a great job. There was a small dance floor, an elevated area for dinner seating and an area for the bar. Coming from LA for the event, it is a commitment and a bit of a driving challenge, so know that going in.

Let's get into it. Property itself, as I said is very nice inside, updated and clean. No fee for parking each night and it comes with a free breakfast, which is always a great thing. The rooms are also nice, updated, not huge, but plenty of space, they have a fridge and coffee maker. Very comfortable, but also probably the main reason for the 3 stars. The bed was comfortable, but as I was sleeping, I started to itch a bit and then after my stay I was very itchy for a few days. Not sure what the deal was, but not a good thing. I washed all my bedsheets at home and showered a number of times to ensure whatever was in the bed was not with me any longer. As I said, I think after 2-3 days the itching was over and back to normal. Too bad, as I enjoyed my stay otherwise. The staff here was very friendly and the also had a small indoor pool and a small gym. These two things were great, but also contributed to my one less star, the pool looked nice, but looked to be due for a cleaning. The gym was great, everything I need, but only one bench and no multifunction weight machine, which is a downer. As I said, love Hilton, staff was great, free breakfast, free parking, nice rooms, great looking property, pool and gym. But the itching spell I had after prevented me from rating this one higher, that combined with the gym also brought it down just a bit as well. Gym part is pretty minor though. I am sorry I cannot give them a higher rating this go around, enjoy!

The drive out was lovely, with lots of yellow broom blooming on the hills. We passed the Firefighter Monument that my husband tends that commemorates the firefighters killed in the Spanish Ranch fire, and checked out the growth of some oak trees around it. We pulled in for an early lunch at the Buckhorn and got a nice booth near a window. We were waited on immediately and provided water and a new menu with more of an emphasis on breakfast dishes. It was early lunch for us, and I ordered my favorite "Breakfast Salad," a Cobb salad, which has bacon and egg in it. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich, a specialty of the place. There was a delay getting the wine menu, and my first choice had run out, so I tried a white that was close to a Sauvignon Blanc from a local vineyard. I had spied some very authentic looking apple pie coming in, and we ordered a slice for desert. It came with a couple of scoops of creamy ice cream, and had a sure-enough baked through crust with juicy, cinnamony apples inside! On the way to the car, we noticed a local rancher "branding" the building, by pushing his heated up brand into the front wall of the restaurant where many other brands appeared. The paint smoked a bit, and when he was done, a spade appeared on the facade, "Spade Ranch," he told me, literally making his brand relevant to the cafe! We reveled in the beauty of the ride back, appreciated out step back in time into the history of this beautiful valley.
