Pros: Areas are leveled, price is cheap, two dog parks with doggie bags, near the freeway, management (Crystal) is nice and welcoming. Cons: It's hard to get through the phone lines, nobody is ever in the office during office hours, we had an issue with our neighbor not cleaning after his dog outside in between our trailers (any time we opened up the windows it smelled like shit). He was constantly arguing with us so we told management (Crystal) and she said she was going to kick him out (since staff and others were complaining about him and his dog).... She never kicked him out and the issue worsened to where he got other people from other trailers involved. A few trailers down, there was a lady with like 5 or 6 kids who kids would come out crying from the mom screaming at them sever days. At the dog parks, the shit was left on the ground, the lights hardly work. You do pay for what you get.

I read the multiple positive reviews. And the best thing was we pulled in right before midnight and the self check-in was super easy. Filling out the paperwork now and will pay tomorrow. Looks very clean and organized and plenty of parking. Each space is well groomed and well lit. We're definitely gonna come back here again.

I also want to take a moment to give a shout out to the Crest Bar & Grill. This KOA has a GREAT place to eat, the food was good & massive servings. It was so rundown looking with weeds, broken pavement, and bad shower facilities. Water was left to run even in water-thirsty California. The Pros of this place though is absolutely the location. Right on the beach at the front and a wonderful bird/wildlife sanctuary in the "bay" area. There are consistently migrating and local birds in abundance. There are also sea lions that you can hear and see on the shores. The temperature weather here also makes it a good spot most of the year. Beware of the May gray, June gloom, etc. There are ample facilities on base also. Mini store, gas station, a couple of restaurants. but it is a bit far from either Port Hueneme or Camarillo - the closest towns. They also have bare bones yurts. These are great. They have two bunk beds, a heater, and tables. They also have bbq grills out front. These have a view of the bay. It's pretty no frills though but could be a great adventure for the family. Cons: Absolutely a huge con are the mosquitoes. They run around unchecked and are prolific. If you see people running from their cars into stores, buildings, etc., it is because of the mosquitoes. Winters you don't see them but come summertime, they are a mess. (This past summer of 2024 we saw very few.) Bring bug spray and sit closer to a fire. Bring a large fan also as that will keep the mosquitoes from landing on you. Overall, it's a great place to stay. It may be hard to get reservations.

Had not stopped for about ten years but this time I again found the park a nice stop. Roadways are dirt, the pool is not heated, but the staff are very helpful and friendly. Most of the back in spots are 30 amp as they are part of the original park. They have added 7 new drive thru sites with 50 amp and water. No sewer hookup but there is a dump station. The restrooms and showers are old but spotlessly maintained and very clean! Lots of hot water for your shower. This park accepts Passport America so it makes a great discount on the already very fair rates. Easy access to either SR 58 or SR 14. The property looked in better shape than it did the last visit. Grass around a number of sites and the sites clean and level.
