Summerland Room #5…read more Pro: -ample parking -Room size is decent compared to other hotels. It as fireplace and an AC system window unit. (It is pretty loud though. Had to turn it on in short bursts because of how loud it was.) -Mini fridge gets drinks nice and cold (very rare these days) Pillows are VERY soft but hold their shape Cons: -Right next to the freeway. I wish I had listened to other reviews and stayed somewhere else. It was loud the entire time but the hotel did provide complimentary ear plugs. And there is a train that comes by that is even louder. -Paid for an Oceanfront View but in the pictures you'll see that from the patio, those hedges are too high for an unobstructed view of the ocean so try to get a balcony room for a better view. -No WIFI -Rooms could use a refresh. They are a bit dated. *I would probably give this hotel a rating closer to 3.5 but the husband and I were the only guests this day so it was nice of the staff to still put out the complimentary wine and snacks for us. Also the next morning the chef pretty much just made breakfast for us and it was tasty.

First time staying in Summerland and we really loved it! We had a queen balcony view room, and it…read morewas really comfortable. Love the high ceilings and the ocean view from the balcony. They also have nice extras like complementary breakfast, afternoon happy hour (wine and cheese and crackers) and later dessert, as long as you book directly on their website. Walking distance to all the cute boutiques Cafés and shops in Summerland. It is very close to the freeway, and you hear the freeway noise throughout, but they have a white sound machine playing in the room, which was actually very thoughtful. They have a nice Jacuzzi too. Totally recommend and will return!

Our stay started off beautifully and we were excited for our week-long stay at this beautiful…read morecottage. The weekend was spent with family and we enjoyed a nice bbq in the garden area. There is a pretty big step between the bedroom and the tv room and as I was coming back from the bathroom in the middle of the night, I missed the step and fell forward. Luckily, I was able to land on my feet and not fall into the desk. It could have been so much worse than being stiff and sore from the jolt. I HIGHLY suggest some kind of lighted strip or something to make people aware it is there. When we arrived, tv didn't work and I asked Sandra to show us. It wouldn't even turn on. She realized that she had neglected to plug it back in after painting behind it. She was able to bring up the ROKU. After the weekend, the tv wasn't working and I tried numerous times to input the code and passwords. I gave up and called Sandra. I asked if she was home, and she said she was not. I told her about the problem with the tv and she said she was 70 miles away. I respectfully said that I didn't expect her to come home and asked what I should do. She kept mentioning how busy she was and said she would do a video call with me later. Her next comment really took me aback. Word for word quote: "You know...an air bnb doesn't come with a concierge desk?" What does that mean?! My son was finally able to get it going and I texted her that it was finally working. The tv kept going in and out all week but I didn't feel like listening to her condescending comments and just decided to add it to the review after our stay. Late Tuesday afternoon, I messaged Sandra asking if we were going to be able to use the washer and dryer as I had requested on March 22nd in a message. Her response back was, "Actually, as mentioned in the listing, it is with a few days prior notice as we do so much laundry but I can have it cleared out for you tomorrow." On Tuesday evening, the ANTS came...hundreds of tiny black ants. They were all over the kitchen. Every day, I wiped everything down, but they came back. I decided not to say anything to Sandra because of her attitudes and just made sure everything was tightly wrapped and refrigerated. I know she had to see them as they were all over when we left on Friday. We absolutely loved the cottage, the garden area, the little patio table and chairs just off the front door and just the general, peaceful ambiance.

The small sweet cottage and treehouse are nestled behind the main house. It feels private and the space is comfortable and creative. There is a fountain, a beautiful garden, and room for dogs to safely play. The Hummingbird Cottage is close to the main street with all the shops, restaurants, mission and it is just a 5 min drive to the beach. They also provide bikes to ride! I'll be going back. I always wondered what it would be like to live on a boat. This was the best experience to start…read moreliving my dream.

It's one of those spur of the moment weekend away. Some friends and I talked about a getaway for a…read moreweekend and all was looking at hotels to stay at. Someone found this and we were all about it. First off, it's a boat y'all. A fun getaway and on a boat, win win. I've stayed on cruises ships before but this was a first for our own. It's docked in Ventura harbor but not accessible to the open water. Upon checking in, which we had contact with the the hostess, wonderful lady in charge. We asked about an early check in but wasn't for sure if that could work out. Either way, we spent the morning on Main Street for brunch and then received a text offering us a check in a little early. Which was nice. Directions was given via text explaining where to park. She even guided us to the lot that would best be suited and nearby where there boat would be. Parking pass was given as well. Once there, she greeted us and walked us to the boat. It's docked right in the heart of the Ventura harbor where restaurants, shops are accessible right outside our door. Before getting on, of course mask was worn. She asked that only one of us would accompany her on so she can show them around the boat. She guided them through the ins and out of the boat. What to do and not to do and so on. Once we were on, the whole experience was pretty exciting. Upon entering the boat from the side and back. There's a seating area with a picnic table with umbrella. Also two chairs, where the driver of the boat and passenger would sit. Once in, you go down a couple of steps and your right in the living room/dining room. Living area has a built in sofa that could probably sleep a person. There's also a dining table with chairs and flat screen accompanied with dvd. There's also a kitchen a couple of steps down. Full fridge, sink, microwave, stove, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, kettle and so on. There's a powder room across from the kitchen. One side of the boat sleeps 2. Not full bed but bunk style minus the bunk bed. That's at the front of the boat. To the rear is where the main room is. From there, it sleeps 3. The main bed, a full size and an additional twin size to the opposite. It's also where the main restroom with shower is located. As it's right in the harbor, right outside is quite busy. There's a boat and kayak rental that's in-front of the boat. It didn't bother us. It was nice sitting on the deck and people watching. The kayakers going by and just enjoying the marina. The deck was perfect for drinks during sunset and breakfast in the morning. Overall experience was amazing. We had such a great time on the boat. Location was perfect. Plenty of restaurants to enjoy if your not interested in cooking in. Also, there's plenty of public restrooms in the village if needed. As well as the main club where boaters can utilize for showers and sort if not on your boat. Location is amazing. There's a beach literally walking distance across the parking lot. Totally will be a returning customer.
