Place was conveniently off the highway. Even though next to a truck stop, not much noise. Place was very clean and smelled good, no odor. Breakfast was good, had trouble with the waffle maker as it doesnt flip. Waffle was hard to get out even when i sprayed the oil prior to pouring. They had breakfast sadwiches and burritos. All you have to do is place them in microwave for a few minutes to warm back up. The coffee was strong but can easily be diluted with the sugar and milk. Staff was helpful when we asked for a swim towel and couldnt find them. Overall, met my expectations. read more

If you're looking for a place to sleep for a few hours it'll suffice, but aside from the 24/7 fitness center there's nothing justifying more that $75 a night. read more

The app won't let me give O starts: My son and I came in for only one night to attend a race. My son left with over 40+ BED BUG bites. I called the manager and was told he can only be reached via email. I emailed him and gave him a few day to resolve the situation but never heard back. We checked in. Walked into our room to a NAKED MAN in the bed. He screamed at us. (Rightfully so) and I said sorry and ran out. I went to the front to tell her, she was distracted by her dad visiting at work I guess. Barely got a sorry. No manager on duty. I thought I would be okay but couldn't shake it and didn't want to stay a second night. Tried for months to get my second night refunded. But they told me "no one reported it" well duh she wouldn't report herself and I'm reporting now. Management was very unprofessional and rude. I see other reviews of people having others getting keys to their rooms too. Avoid at all costs. Corporate did not care either. Making this review after a year of trying and failing to get my money back. I ended up paying for two hotels. I wish I never knew this place existed. We were traveling a lot for sports at the time. Old rooms, noisy location, unfriendly and dishonest management. They refused refund the money for rooms we accidentally booked for wrong date, two months in advance. We noticed the mistake right away and made a reservation for the correct date and paid for it but the management still did not refund money for incorrect date even through we were trying to cancel two month ahead of reservation. Odd clerk at check-in, no receipt or policies offered, small dirty rooms, dishonest management would not refund even though we did not use room at all--a huge rip off. This place is a franchise managed by a local shoe-string LLC, which is super shady. Don't stay here. (We have been here multiple times, but before we were checked in to a nicer room near the pool; this time was very strange, and felt a lot like a money-grab from out-of-towners by local management). During check-in, we were not asked to sign anything, at all. We were given no receipt or other documents confirming hotel policies... but the desk clerk demanded to see my wife's ID as well as mine, even though she was uninvolved in the financial transaction. Despite these red flags, we checked in for about $150 (no reservation). We did not want to spend our evening room hunting. Then we took one look at the room and asked to be refunded. Cynthia the young woman at the desk seemed to struggle with her words, but assured us the manager (who was "in a meeting" at 8 pm) would contact us shortly by phone to help us. It felt like a lie. And of course the manager did not contact us. We left, had a pleasant evening somewhere else, and waited. I drove out to that little hotel on the furthest edge of town two more times the next two days, before finally locating Abigail, the manager, in person. She claimed to have called us multiple times, though there were no missed calls in our call log, and she had our email but did not reach out to us in that way either. She refused to refund us our $150. She said that even though we had not stayed at the hotel or used its services or amenities in any way, she would not issue a refund because Cynthia's notes indicated that we were merely 'unsatisfied with the location' of our room (which was false; the location of the room was terrible and looked out into a dingy bar window across the driveway, but it was also small, cramped, and dirty, and smelled funny. My wife was repulsed and I was shocked by the difference in room quality compared to our prior stays.) Abigail the manager also said that she could not provide a "yes or no" answer to the question of whether or not there was a No Refunds policy Instead she kept repeating a long, vague, pre-rehearsed spiel that it "should have been explained to us" during our "confirmation phase." But we had been given no documents or information about the hotel policies before, during, or after check-in (We received a receipt, printed at that moment, only after I spoke to the manager in person, on site, two+ days later, when I asked for one). Bottom line: we drove five minutes down the road to SureStay, where they had a hot tub next to the pool, more nearby restaurants, and were $30 cheaper (for a bigger, cleaner room). We have disputed the $157 charge with our bank, which is in the process of refunding our money. I guess this hotel is mostly for truckers and people who get smashed at the bar next door, people who don't care so much about room quality. But for the quality of room and service at this hotel, I would have expected to pay much less. read more

We called the hotel mid afternoon for a same night reservation. We needed two rooms next to each other and they were able to accommodate us and were reasonably priced. Right off the freeway and close to a couple of gas stations and fast food. We were alittle worried based on the other Yelp reviews but other hotels were sold out or too expensive. We were pleasantly surprised the 2 hotel rooms we had, they were nice and clean, no odd smells. AC worked great. Our 2 rooms had 2 Queen beds, a desk, office chair and coffee maker. Plenty of plug ins for cell phones or other electronics in the lamps. 3 drawer cabinet, an iron and iron board. Small microwave and refrigerator. We used both of these appliances and they worked well with no issues. The bathroom was spacious, offered a tub/shower combo, and a cool lighted mirror. The pool is temporarily closed until further notice. The beds were comfortable and we had a good night sleep. The mattresses are pretty firm, like they were not too old of beds which was nice, no back aches. Due to COVID-19 a special To Go Breakfast was offered, you can pick up a breakfast sandwich at the front desk between 6a-9a. You receive one cold premade wrapped egg, cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich per guest. No heating instructions were given in the bag they handed us. We heated for 35-40 seconds in the microwave and they tasted great. No drinks were offered with breakfast. We were Happy to have the sandwich though. Most of the hotels on our trip suspended breakfast at this time. Issues with room: The sheets don't exactly fit on the mattress and the corners were ripped as shown in picture I posted. We had 2 rooms and all the beds were like this. If you move around a lot, the sides will come up, my husband experienced this. The hotel doors leading to the hallway, are very heavy so they force close and are loud when closed. We could hear the room across from us a few times in the evening when they were closing their door. The screen door leading to the balcony had a large section coming undone at the top so you couldn't leave the door open to get some fresh air. We also didn't notice any child locks on the sliding door so be careful with little ones. Overall, our hotel stay was good and we would stay here again if the need arises. read more

I arrived to check with my 87 handicapped mother. When I went to the room it was not handicapped accessible. So I went back up to explain I needed an accessible room. They gave me the door right next to the one we had been given Now they wanted more money because the sq footage was 6 ' bigger I believe. I tried to explain that is illegal but the poor kid really couldn't help. I gave my name and number for a manager to call me back. Surprise I was not called back. A few days later when I returned home I contacted the corporate office and they said the manager of each hotel makes the rules. NO ELEVATOR. told her couldn't do second floor cause my husband could not climb cause of bad knees. She just stared at me. Husband came in a said"NO ELEVATOR"? No Was her answer. the only rooms on the first floor were pet friendly. So we too the second floor. The room looked clean , one of lamps and the cable out let didnt work. Bay knees and all husband got down and saw the cords were unplugged. WiFi was very bad. As we got ready for be we looked at the ceiling and there was a huge rain spot plus MOLD. The next morning we opened the curtains to the balcony. The wood at the top of the door was rotting and moldy. As I looked down the balcony was covered in bird crap. We used to stay here on our way north from San Diego to avoid LA traffic, but not anymore. Rooms were dirty, bed was broken, coffee maker didn't work, and windows so dirty I thought at first they were frosted. Mentioned all of the above to the girl at the front desk when we were checking out and I literally got no response from her. Even though I just checked in, and the hotel is next to a truck stop and railroad tracks, I'm having a hard time finding anything seriously wrong. So far, the staff (front desk clerk and two housekeepers are very polite and friendly). Especially, given my 2.5 hrs early arrival. All staff encounters were cordial. 8-) This Baymont used to be an LQ, but it's the best Baymont (and better than my last LQ) that I have been in to date. There's only been 3, but it goes to show that not all hotels with the same name are of the same quality. And, after my 1st experience, I was hesitant to stay here. My 2nd experience, was better than the first. But my stay here, far exceeded the other two combined. My room and bathroom are practically spotless. Only prissy perfectionist would find problems (some chipping of the porcelain around the drain). So far, my only issue is that while the sink's water pressure is fine, the tub and shower is lower than I would like. But, given the severity of the drought conditions in the region, I can live with that. A couple of small issues that may be a problem for some, in order to lock the deadbolt, I had to lean against the door. And, the wall AC (quitetist one encountered in 30+ nights in different motels and hotels) billowed the curtains quite a bit. But, didn't blow them open. Techies will have a problem finding "easy to access" outlets for their devices. However, what I found real surprising are the three grab bars in the tub & shower + a portable shower seat), and even though I don't need them (at least not yet, haha), it is nice to have something to hold onto when getting in and out over the tub. Now why can't the other places do something like this? Of course, like all the big chains now, the Wi-Fi is free. 8-) But, unsecured. :-( Let's see what the morning brings. Well, despite being between 2 truck stops, and next to railroad tracks, it was actually pretty quiet Inside the Hotel. My room was pretty dark, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was both a traditional Continental type plus scrambled eggs and sausage links. And of course, the ever-present waffles that you find in Wyndham facility. Also, since the next leg of my journey was the shortest travel distance yet (88 miles) on my road trip, I was allowed a late check-out (only an hour, but it helped a lot). Every room has some kind of issue. Most common is the SMELL either smoke, or moldy mildew scents. Having to change multiple rooms with a family of 5 was no easy task. Not worth what we payed for at all. Dirty facility in general. The "gym" is nothing more than a treadmill and small selection of weights and one stair step. Would not advise enduring a nights rest here you'll be up late trying to kill the bugs. read more

This place is very conveniently located for travelers passing through Tehachapi and is quiet, clean, and allows pets. My husband and I were traveling to Pismo Beach from Las Vegas and stayed overnight here. The restaurant next door, Prime Bar & Grill, had the very best Indian Cuisine we've ever had. The receptionist at the hotel told us that many of her hotel's guests dine there and all have raved about the great food. Both the hotel and the restaurant next door were excellent! read more

A bed to sleep in that was great, and that was just OK. The rest was yuk. Cleanliness was poor. Bathroom sink, no soap, shower heated up just enough to shower, towels were worn, 1 w/seam ripped, bathroom door dragged on part of tile floor. TV was small, floor was dirty, esp along baseboards... Disgusting smell outside, by pool,, like sewage. Clerk was less than friendly at check in, she gave us directions to get to our room outside that building. I discovered that I could have walked on the INSIDE, a shorter walk. NEVER WILL I EVER STAY AT A WYNDHAM... RATS! We stayed here while working the local fire and our service was horrible! We had RATS in two of our rooms and when we asked for help they said the best they could do was put rat traps in our room! When I asked for reimbursement they said they would have a manager call me. That was two weeks ago and each time I called they would put me on hold until the phone disconnected, didn't answer or tell me a manager would call me and hang up the phone. I have reported them to corporate and calling the health department. What a great way to show support to those who drove hours to help your town during fires. read more

This honestly seems like a high rating in comparison to the others, but ratings are relative and this one reflects the overall experience and perceived value. I had family stay at this hotel a year or so ago, prior to it becoming a Baymont. They have been in process of upgrading rooms, have painted the exterior, but please note not all rooms have been completed. I did sign up online for the rewards program prior to booking, and recommend doing the same if you haven't already. I booked a room online for Memorial Weekend (had a wedding to attend). Busy weekend multiple weddings, and lots of holiday events so rooms can fill quickly. This particular hotel is outside of town, near the Flying J. You may hear trains, may hear highway traffic, but having lived near both at some point, the noise to me is white noise and not bothersome. Indeed, as others pointed out, not the cleanest (but it can be difficult to keep clean when you're in the desert, and it is a small staff). I did have a small battle of the ants at first (coming in from sliding glass door), but again, it can happen. So I just hit up Kmart (which sadly won't be there much longer after WalMart opens), and got some 409 multi-purpose cleaner. Gave the floors a quick swipe, wiped away the scent of the scout ants, and no more ants the rest of the weekend. Was near the stairwell door, which was quite squeaky, but got used to it and forgot to mention the squeak on check out. Continental breakfast was comparable to when I've stayed down the street at the Fairview (though I think the eggs at Baymont were better, and staff did a good job of keeping everything freshly replenished). Always coffee in the lobby, coffee in the AM in breakfast room too. In room coffee maker does not use a pot, just put your cup under the spout and turn on. Small fitness area, but usable. Pool, no hot tub (but let's face it, both are difficult to manage in areas where pipes freeze and you get snow). Very light water pressure in shower, be sure to start out with the hot water and then dial it down to the preferred temp. For temperature control, turn power on, then select Heater/AC/Fan, and then select the temperature. My room seemed recently remodeled, bed and pillows were super duper comfy and cozy, extra blanket and sheets (for pullout sofa) in closet. I did have some issues with noise the first night. Important to note, if you have a problem, call right away. It can at times be difficult to get the front desk on the phone, but again small staff. If they step away to deal with an issue, the phone does not go with them, so be patient and try again. The fella at the front was good about helping out and things finally quieted down. Problems again the next night, Mrs. Kim handled, no more problems with noise. All staff very friendly and attempted to help with any problems I encountered. Overall, it wasn't that bad. I was originally booked for Fri/Sat and decided to stay Sun since the same room was available. If you make it into town for meals, make sure you hit up Red House BBQ for their pulled pork and Mac n chz, and Steampunk for Irish Nachos and machaca n eggs. read more

My company booked this location for some work we were doing at a nearby plant. On the surface things looked good but as soon as I started to check-in, the fuckery began. First of all, the staff is not customer service friendly at all. They don't dress the part, nor do they greet you walking in. I checked in with a senior associate who is a company credit card account holder. I tried to use this card to check in. The attendant had already checked him and he was standing not 5 feet from me. She tells me because the card holder isn't present, I cannot use this card for incidentals. I just looked at the attendant as she stood over her computer. This was the first sign of trouble. I worked it out after much mansplaining. I was given key cards after 15 minutes of let's play games for 500 only to find out neither key card worked. I had to go back so they could fix it. My room had no working heater. Yeah, so 28° at night on the first floor with wooden floors. Not comfortable at all. Breakfast is atrocious. The little wraps are not labeled with the dates they were made or what's in them. This hotel doesn't even have coffee available in the lobby. It took them two days to get my heater working. A different room was never offered, nor was any explanation on why they issued the room out if the heater doesn't work. All in all they hired nothing but young women who seem to be preoccupied anytime you have a question. Absolutely awful. The smell when you open the door to your room nearly knocks you over. Some lights do not work. The shower hot and cold control is stripped and spins 360deg. So you have no idea how to set the temp. Refrigerator is on max cold. Which is about 50deg. Hard to believe they have so little quality control. Seems someone from Wyndham might step foot in hotels like this once in a while. They should be appalled and embarrassed. I can't actually think of anything about that place that deserves even a single star. read more

I stayed here last Dec 2021 and on my way to assist with a fire as a volunteer with the Red Cross. I booked this hotel via Priceline. When I went to check out of Priceline the screen told me "the room rate was no longer available" so I went back into the Priceline portal (within the same session) and booked the next available room option at this hotel. On arrival, front desk person, Tina insisted I double booked. I explained the problem and she was "very quick" to wipe her hands of the problem saying "if I had of booked the hotel through them she could have done something otherwise take it up with Priceline." It just doesn't make sense a single traveler would book two rooms! She insisted the only person that could decide if I warranted a refund was Manager, Abigail Murray. When you call for Abigail she is never there nor does she respond to emails! I'm told she's only there two days a week. In the end, Priceline said they couldn't refund the money owed to me until Baymont authorized the reversal and they claim Baymont refused to credit me back. In my mind, I've been double charged and Wyndham/Baymont has STOLEN my money and has been paid twice for services never received. I've NEVER received such awful customer service from a Manager of a hotel and someone who has gone out of her way to ignore my reasonable requests and concerns! Simply put, this hotel does NOT deserve your or my business! Please don't reward them by booking your hotel needs at this location. read more

All in all, we called corporate office to file a complaint. There was back and forth between us, the corporate office and this horrible hotel. Ms. Kim, the general manager, had the absolute nerve to tell corporate that my husband FORGED MY SIGNATURE which was an absolute lie (there are security cameras that show I came into the lobby to give her the signature she needed) In the end, she kicked us out because we called corporate office instead of confronting with her first. Trains? Lots of trains...ALL NIGHT LONG. The heating/ac was almost as noisy as the trains. Looks like it was installed in 1980. The mattress needed replacing ten years ago. The lighting is atrocious. Wait! It get worse. Someone "re[aired the tub/shower valve. There are no stops on the valve. Where is hot? Where is cold? The trim is missing on the valve, so all the brass stem is sticking out 2". There is loose ceramic tile just outside the bathroom. The finish on the tub is peeling off. I ran out of hot water just as I finished my shower. If the price was 50% less, it might be worth visiting again. But, for $104? NO DAMN WAY Jose. This place needs a complete remodel, including insulated windows, new HVAC system and boiler. Wait! I'm 65 years old. They put us on the second floor. No elevator! No offer of help with luggage. Management should be relieved of its duties.....or taught respect. read more

She will ask what your medical diagnosis is if you have a service animal which is federal crime. She is a compulsive liar. Run, run, run away! To add insult to injury I booked this hotel because it had a pool and I was on vacation and the manager let me know the pool had been closed from since 2019 but made no effort to apologize or accommodate me in any way. And when I called them they called her and explained her the situation and she start raising her voice and saying that I am a liar and the rooms are clean and then I showed her the bites that I got from the bedbug so she told me no and get out take your money back and get out! Again it's 10:30 pm ! That's not the way you talk to anyone ! I told her no problem I will leave right away and I will go to best western. And when I get there she called them and told them to not let me check in ! At 11pm Me. My wife and 1 year old kid had to drive to a different hotel so they can take us because she called and tell people that we are lying . This lady need to NOT dale with customers that NOT. Long story short. Kim is awful. Scheduled months ago for a wedding and called twice to confirm that a dog was coming.
