Stayed here recently while passing through on an overnight. The hotel staff were all friendly and professional. Check in was a breeze and checking out, even easier. My ground floor room was comfortable enough and the room spacious, it served its purpose for my overnight stay. The bed fairly comfortable, with plenty of hot water for my shower the next morning. I picked this motel for a one night road trip layover, based on some good reviews. Ended up being disappointed, and my expectations were not very high to begin with. First of all, this is a motel, and an old one...it is NOT a hotel. The room was fairly clean, but everything was old. The furniture, the bathroom fixtures, the carpet. And a very small room. The other neighbors seemed to be construction workers who were staying here for a job, and they felt the need to party outside, loudly, until 11pm. And across the street are the rail tracks, with freight trains running by all night long. There really isn't a lot of choice for where to stay in Mojave, and from what I saw this Best Western may be one of the best available. My recommendation? Don't bother staying in Mojave unless you have no other choice. Either push on to Tehachapi (if you're traveling west), or push on to Barstow (if you're traveling east.) read more

If you're looking for a place to stay for the night, this is probably the best you're going to get in this area unless you drive further down to Barstow. Do you consider Best Western a motel or hotel? Check in was a breeze. The room was clean, the bed was ok, there was a microwave and refrigerator . The shower had hot water. The included continental breakfast was convenient. I recommend the waffle, it was delicious. If you had a long day driving and can't drive any further, spend the night at Best Western and start fresh in the morning. The hotel is located across the street from the train track. I travel a lot for business I had a business trip to Mojave for 5 nights There were not a lot of company approved hotels in Mojave. The Best Western Desert winds was one as well as other further away. At first glance it's an older building, it's true looks can be deceiving. The first indication it would be a good stay Beatrice at the front desk helped me add a day so I wouldn't have to change rooms. My wife and I checked in here only to find that the room had no light bulbs in any of the lights. The person on duty tried to find us some and said that the owner hides them. When she had no luck finding any we were offered a refund, but she said we would have to call the manager the next morning to get it. We had a large room with 2 comfortable queen beds. Everything was very clean. The refrigerator was good size for the lunch foods we bring when traveling and even had a small freezer section for our ice cylinders. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I've seen at a motel including hot scrambled eggs. I would recommend this motel to anyone traveling in the Mojave area. read more

It's a nice , clean motel in a middle of a tiny town. I super love it because it's quiet and reasonable . We usually stay at the one in Lancaster but for some reason this weekend their rate is double than what we usually pay. Like other Best western thIs one offered hot breakfast too... bacon, eggs, sausage with biscuits and gravy, waffles , hard boiled eggs and different kind of bread that you can toast. Just checked in and have to say- the hotel has been so accommodating already. We are towing a small trailer and the manager, maintenance man and front desk worker all came out to help us park and find a solution that made sense for us as well as the hotel. This definitely is the best hotel in town. Quiet, clean rooms with hygienic remotes, what more could you ask for. They're very good about last minute changes to your reservations and the staff is always courteous. Free continental breakfast didn't have much I wanted, but at least I could get a snack. If you can make another 20-30 min heading south toward Lancaster or Palmdale, then I would, as the town of Mojave really has only a couple fast food places. But if you're heading north or just need a clean comfy place to crash, I highly recommend this hotel since everything else in the immediate vicinity is just intolerable even if they are cheaper. They also have free Wifi but it's a bit slow at times. Bottom line, good prices, clean and comfy rooms. What more could you ask for from the tiny town of Mojave? read more

We arrived after a 12 hour drive on the 1st leg of a 5 days move across the country with 2 dogs and a parrot in tow. When I called and made the reservation, "corporate" told me I would be accommodated. When I arrived, they knew nothing about my pets, and didn't have any rooms on the ground floor. We had to then proceed to schlep our entire circus from the car, around the pool, and up the stairs... it was not ideal. The room was clean, but tiny, and not at all ideal for our pet situation. Thankfully, we all managed... They seemed to have a couple of "pet areas" but one was locked and the other wouldn't open... The experience was not great, but, I'll give them an extra star for not charging for our pets! read more

I've stayed at this location twice when I was out at Willow Springs Raceway. On both occasions I called about an hour before and they always had a room available. The front staff has a woman who is extremely friendly and great to talk to. Due to COVID-19, they can't offer their usual continental breakfast so instead they are pre-packaging grab-and-go breakfasts for guests who request one. This is really thoughtful and accommodating. Rates are cheap and the rooms are spotless and don't smell weird (like a lot of Rosamond/Lancaster hotels). read more

Primarily, the motion sensor turns on the room light after timer lapses and motion is detected. Thus every 60-90 minutes the room overhead light came on. This is a long established interrogation technique. Unfortunately we are simply trying to drive cross country. Safely. Since we both had NO sleep last night I'm hopeful we make it. Additionally, wifi on three devices did not work in the room, the tv picture quality low, and the shower would not completely turn off. I was driving from LA to Mammoth Lakes after after doctors appointments. I got a reservation at BW, not expecting much. It is an old hotel on the main drag of Mohave, with few options. I was very happy with the front desk gal. She was most friendly and helpful , finding me a good Mexican restaurant. She gave me a room further away from the road. It was spacious, had a good mattress and new bedding, new TV with lots of stations. The room had a small fridge, nice because I was carrying food. The free breakfast was decent, had scrambled eggs, sausage patties and biscuits and gravy. Tasty, plus the yogurt for the road. I was very happy and got the AAA rate, so it was reasonable. I travel a lot and hit cheap motels...here is how to take control! Measure twice, cut once! 1. Check room first: if non-smoking is there smoke hangover? if so, get another room. Do the bug test...look at corners of room, no ants anywhere, etc. 5 min walk through. 2. Check AC/Heating/microwave/fridge: Get a room on the top floor to avoid ceiling thump! AC in summer is essential when upstairs. This is a guy thing, but clean out AC filter! You want fresh air coming in. Easy to take apart, clean, pop back on. 3. Get a quiet room if possible away from street: Recon motel before going inside...sit in lot and observe the vibe. Woman want safe so if it doesn't feel right, you might have to pay more. 4. Clorox/Baby Wipes: Spray the room and bathroom down first thing! I mean everything...15 mins max. Peace of mind! Don't forget the TV remote! 5. Bring your own sheets: Wal*Mart special on sheets...after your spray, lay down your own sheets for peace of mind. Nothing worse than itching in a motel bed at 2am...stress factor will ruin your next 24 hrs. 6. Bring instant coffee/shampoo: Yes there is good instant coffee...your creamer will make it taste great! 7. Hot Plate & Cooler: Long road trips, this is essential unless you want to eat out which cost money. A $12 Dollar Store hot plate will do wonders. Motel has the ice. Get fresh veggies and whatnot, make a good salad, cook rice...make chili...easy to do! Get the containers at the DS as well...best $3 you can spend. 8. Ear Plugs: Best investment ever...got noise? Plug it! 9. Arrange Furniture: Move stuff...make it your home! Psychological factor will calm everyone. 10. BYOP: bring your own pillows! Motel pillows usually suck. Another Wal*Mart special...drop $8 on a new pillow. Forget breakfast...everything else is bonus! Pancake bar not working? Really? No shampoo? Really? Who cares...one trip to the Dollar Store and you are set for your entire trip! read more

Great little place. Updated rooms with nice TVs, fridge, microwave and fast wifi. Not to mention that it was super clean and the people at the front desk were super friendly. From 6 am to 10 am they have a full hot breakfast room with waffles, eggs and BACON! They had a pool and a hot tub that I didn't get to use but it looked clean. I was extremely happy with the lady that checked me and our volleyball coach in on September 14, 2018. We needed the girls rooms to be all together and at first they weren't but the lady at check in worked her magic and got all the rooms together. It made it so much easier to keep track of 14 girls. The rooms were super clean and everything worked perfectly. The girls asked for towels to use at the pool that evening and were brought towels right away. The staff was friendly. Decent roadside hotel. Probably the best in Mojave, which is really not saying much. The good news is that it was clean, AC worked great, and a Denny's is literally steps away. Bad news is that it is in Mojave. Of course, we had a crackhead wandering around trying to panhandle and scam anybody in sight, including us, but I am guessing this is just normal in this area. The facilities were acceptably clean though not impeccable, and the staff was friendly. Not much food nearby, not much to do around here, and the wi-fi sucked, which I'm a real sucker for.
